First and last time ever. I came in to get my eyebrows waxed. The guy at the front seemed like he did not want to be there. He kept snapping at me to get my attention to point to the waxing room. Once I got there he left the door wide open while he was waxing my eyebrows (which I have never had happen.) He rushed through everything, and after he had finished both my eyebrows had giant burns. I now have scars on my face from this. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

They did an ok job. Made an appointment for a pedicure and an acrylic gel fill. My acrylic nails look good from afar but when I look at the actual job there are bubbles and smudges. One nail even looks like there is a crack. Good for pedicures. Probably will try another nail salon in the area. read more

Tony is a master stylist at a minimal price point. I've had my hair cut in this area for decades and have paid double or triple the price but have rarely received the attention to detail and accuracy that he is capable of. I decided to get an impromptu haircut yesterday, and found this place on Yelp. The previous ratings were 4-5 stars, so I thought this would be a good place to go. However after a day in reflection, I've decided to leave a 1 star rating for the following reasons: - The hairdresser was not friendly. He didn't try to make conversation, and I wouldn't have minded if he was just quiet; but instead of talking with me, he spoke with one of the nail techs the whole time he was cutting my hair. The only questions he asked me were (1) how much I hair I wanted cut, and (2) where I was born. When I told him that I was born in NJ - honestly not his business - he proceeded to talk with the nail tech in a language I didn't understand. - The hairdresser didn't check with me throughout the haircut about whether I was happy with what he was doing. He just kept cutting and talking with the nail tech. At one point, it was clear that he cut too much off of one side while he was talking, so he had to cut more to even it out. I asked for 1-2 inches off the bottom and left with about 3 inches off. - The hairdresser dried & straightened my hair halfway through the cut and used a brush with other people's hair to do so. That's disgusting. I also have wavy hair so it wasn't apparent how the haircut would look until after I washed it this morning. - The hairdresser was not at all gentle. He was rough brushing and washing my hair. It hurt. At no point did he ask if I was okay. - Even with the cape, there was hair ALL over my clothes at the end - No one else was present but the hairdresser seemed like he was in a rush to finish. - The services menu notes a women's wash, cut, and dry is $35. There's a sign outside that says $25. He charged me $40. With tip that was $50. Overall, getting a haircut here was an unpleasant experience and waste of money. Would not recommend. read more

I came here for a full set of acrylic nails. When I left the salon I loved how they came out; the shape, thickness, and color were perfect. However not even ONE full day later one of the nails popped off, then two, then four. I was very upset so I went back to the salon and they offered to fix them free of charge. While I was on my way home from the salon, another nail popped off. Now as I am typing this there are only two nails still left from my full set, it hasn't even been one week since I originally got them put on. Super disappointing because the workers were so nice. I Went there last Saturday and got my hair colored and cut turned it from brown to blonde and I must say I was very pleased with my results. i was grateful he saw me as i was a walk in and my hair took 3 hours and he made sure he took his time it was great and the money was great so worth it. went back on Sunday to get my eyebrows and nails done the nail tech was amazing I was iffy about a guy doing my nails as last time I had gotten them done by a guy he botched them.but this guy was incredible so thorough and patient. i recommend this salon to anyone who needs a good stylist/nail tech read more

Went in but the lady at the reception was texting. It took her over a minute to say hello. I asked if she had time for a facial. She said yes. I asked her about the 20% discount. She said that only applied to the expensive facial. She asked me to read the pamphlet myself and left the reception area. I waited there for over 5 mins. She was nowhere to be found. Excellent hair cut with Tony. There really are not many hairdressers out there who cut your hair the way you ask. I have been to many high end salons and walked away disappointed. Tony is a godsend! I followed him from the salon he previously worked at to this spot when I heard he was leaving for a new salon. I have Asian hair and I like keeping it blonde with darker, hombre roots. It is so easy for my hair to become brassy or that nasty orange-brown color that no brunette ever wants. Tony listened to what I was looking for and got it as close to the blonde I wanted as I've gotten from any hairstylist. It's a warm blonde with super light ashy highlights and shadow at the roots. It looks crazy good, I'm always feeling great when I walk out of there. People compliment my hair a lot from the color to the cut, which he also gave. I like the feeling that the color I want to achieve when I go in- is a team effort. He really cares, and spends a lot of time to make sure it's the best outcome. I never feel rushed. And my hair feels super healthy after lightening, too! He's really sweet and good at his craft. I've seen him 3 times for lightening, toning, roots, and/or trim. The last time I went, I got home and noticed a spot I wasn't thrilled with. I immediately texted him and he said come in whenever, which I did, and he fixed it no charge. He gave me the full treatment, re-toned it, conditioned, blow-dried- everything. I simply tipped him for his time b/c what goes around comes around. That's how you keep a loyal customer! I've been going there since they opened and they always do a good job, but today the service was quick and I loved the way my pedicure and gel manicure came out. This place and their staff is amazing. I always go there to get my nails done and they never disappoint. The last time I was in there I decided to try the powder on my nails. It came out so nice and it lasted for almost a month. On the plus side, they use a powder that is organic so it won't be as harsh on your nails. The owner Joanne has been my eyebrow lady for over 10 years. She has moved her salon a couple of times during these years and I follow her everywhere she goes, that's how good she is. I also have gotten haircuts and blow outs there and they have been great. I recommend this place to everybody. You won't be disappointed! read more

I would not recommend at all this place. I have been there several times and every time I have issues with Joanne in particular, who is extremely rude. To give an example, they did once a gel manicure on my hands and when they tried to remove it the next time, it literally destroyed my nails. I have to cut my nails very short and put oil on them for several weeks so they would get back to normal. I think the products they use are not of good quality and are dangerous. The issue is that, while they were removing the polish, they tried to cover their mistake by telling me how beautiful my hands were, incredible!! I went twice for waxing and every time, Joanne insisted on telling me that I had put body lotion on my legs, which is why she was struggling to do the waxing. Even if I told her that I didn't put any lotion, she wouldn't believe me and almost call me a liar by saying that she was very experienced and that a soft skin like that means that I had put body lotion! I have never seen or heard that, someone challenging and being so rude to her customers and almost making me feel bad for having soft skin, what is this? The staff is definitely not friendly at all, they also insist of selling you more expensive services (they once insisted 5 times to make me do deep powder manicure when I just wanted regular). It is really stressful to go to a place where people are not only rude but insisting as well. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON, this is the summary of my review!! read more

What a wonderful experience. I found Harvard Beauty Spa on Yelp. We were getting ready for a special trip and wanted pedicures for my granddaughter and me. Richard was amazing. He was so capable, kind and gentle. The salon is beautiful and immaculate. We talked my husband into having Richard look at his split nails. Richard repaired them and then I talked my husband into a pedicure. No polish but nail care and a foot massage. They have only been at this location for one year, but when people find out how great they are they will become a go to spa in Cambridge. read more

DO NOT WAX HERE. Got a standard manicure which was fine - I've had better and I've had worse. But, when I came here once because my normal esthetician was out on maternity and I figured this place had a good location, etc, I made a HUGE mistake. My first warning should have been that I had to wait a while for them to warm up the wax, and the people who worked there (while otherwise perfectly friendly) asked how I even knew they had wax services (even though I'm pretty sure it's on the sign). The woman took off three quarters of my eyebrows, claimed that she decided to shape them because obviously no one ever had done so before (she decided this without telling me) and told me to come back every two weeks, even though I told her I usually only do them every couple of months and just wanted a slight clean up. 7 months later, and my eyebrows have still not fully grown back. I'm worried that they never will return. I used to have lots of people compliment my eyebrows, but since going here people have started trying to give me advice on eyebrow shaders, pencils, etc. One of the worst mistakes I've made was going here for waxing. But if you're just getting a manicure or something I think it's fine. read more
