Harvest Cafe is a favorite amongst my family, however after last week, I'm not sure why. Not to say that the food is awful but its just always a little lack luster, especially after this last visit. As a family we usually celebrate birthdays here over some old fashion breakfast. This time around it was my brother's birthday and as the birthday boy, he ordered the manly-est meal he could find- The Country Fried Steak. Sadly, he was highly disappointed. He kept mentioning how the gravy had a gritty texture, almost as if they didn't cook out the flour all the way. The texture of the steak was also off according to my brother. He described it as "chewy & cardboard stiff" So in other words a huge overcooked mess. Thumbs down for that. Personally my breakfast was also off by a lot. I ordered the 222 special with sausage links and a biscuit. I'm not 100 percent sure by I'm almost certain I was served spoiled sausages. The casing was nice and crispy but the after taste they had was extremely sour and really off putting. I felt sick after my first bite so I only ate half of one and left the rest. My biscuit was a let down too. It was definitely hard, kinda like day old bread. I tried to salvage it by adding lots of butter and jelly but it was no help. Just a hard, crumbly mess topped with sticky jelly. I hate to write a review like this when its a sweet mom & pop place, with quality service but the quality of the food varies too much. I never know if I'm going to enjoy my meal. Even though its a family favorite, I always end up unhappy. Some improvements to the food could make a huge difference. read more

To update my review this lady or the person that's responding is doing damage control ... what do you thing those glasses is I wear .... they are recording ... so you being Mendacious is absolutely in the character of the business . If you were so called recording you would have heard the young lady ask Allan she take the other people as I went to pay . You would have also saw how the guy walks up ( aggressively " I need to get paid ) A racist won't say they are one they just are super apprehensive and rude like the gentleman was. Maybe if there were better communication and less judge mental nuances we wouldn't be here but this happened because you prejudged and poor communication.. if sure your racial insensitivity would be there but I would have never saw it . First of all try it! A fabulous home style place that we locals know is a gem. I've been going here for years and am never disappointed. An adorable, warm , country style place where you feel like you're in someone's home instead of a cold restaurant. The menu has everything and anything you could want for breakfast and lunch. The food is always delicious and fresh. I had the chicken salad platter and the chicken salad as well as lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and onion were all fresh and delicious. It came with tasty cole slaw and potato salad too. The service was terrific as Maritza was my waitress and was as sweet as could be as well as quick. The owners are very pleasant and sincerely care that you're experience there is a good one. read more

Harvest cafe is a small homely restaualrqnt off of Stirling Road in Sterling Tower Shops. When I walked in I had to wait a few minutes before being seated however I was greeted. Then I sat at the table and I waited a few minutes before I was greeted there also. Finally Marie came over to wait on me and took my order but she was in a rush and was not very friendly . I ordered coffee with cream and Splenda and eggs with corned beef hash homr fries wheat toast for $5.99. When I ordered my coffee I asked if they had splenda as there is not any on the table. They do and my coffee was delivered. . Without the Splenda so I had asked for it again. I really don't understand the delay in service there's only about 10 people in the restaurant and there are a few waitresses. However for the price, convenience and good food I would probably give it another shot! read more

Stopped in for breakfast to start out my Atlanta road trip. Everyone was friendly but the food to me, was just ok. Cheese omelet and home fries were on the cooler side of warm, than hot. I think their portions could be bigger. This place will get by enough to keep their loyal local customers. I think they need to step it up a little to get new returning customers. Wow at the bad reviews! I love this place. I've been coming to it for many years. They have the best scrambled eggs crepes in Broward! The rest of the menu is great too with great pricing. I moved pretty far away and still make the drive to eat here! My only complaint is that I wish they stayed open past 3pm haha. read more

The waitress was rude, She coughed in my food. I would never go back, Fancy that. Feel free to cut and paste my review if it applies to you. I don't order soft drinks and prefer to drink water but usually I tip as though I did. As a former waitress service is very important to me. And I find that some waitresses think because you are a SWF dining alone that you don't tip. Phewy on you. I travel to this area once a week and on the third week spend several hours at other local establishments. So I need a place for a quick lunch. This is not the place. read more

Despite the bad reviews I gave it a shot and met a friend for breakfast. The service was quick but the staff were not overly friendly. Nice, but not "welcoming". The place seemed clean and it was kind of empty for the morning. Now for the food: The coffee was weak and watery. The Cheese and Egg Omelet were tasteless. I am not sure how you can make eggs and cheese not taste good but there was no taste at all. I tried it. I didn't like it. I'm not sure if the owner knows about Yelp or reviews but he/she could sure benefit from reading the ones on their restaurant. read more

We get breakfast carry out from the harvest Café occasionally, when we are running errands. It's always good, but today it was exceptional. A simple meal can be the start to a fantastic day, and my breakfast was perfect. The bacon was Chris the over easy eggs were perfect from inside to outside, the potatoes were just right, and the biscuit was fluffy and moist just the way it ought to be the home of butter and strawberry jam. Sorry, Harvest Cafe. I tried. Twice. I wanted to love you - after all, I NEED a breakfast place in my life. But no, you are not it. Waffles - waffles are not difficult. Waffle iron, basic mix, 3 minutes tops. But my waffles were cold. Then they were microwaved. Then when I asked for a new one, they were microwaved to the point that one side was soggy and the other side was hard. I don't know if too many were made the day before, but I expect my waffles to be made to order. Is this too much to ask? So mom and I go a few weeks ago, and there it is. On the specials menu - caramel apple french toast. I inquire with a "What are they made from, and is it any good?" She says yes - they are made from apple bread and warm caramel apples. HA - NOT. They are made from cinnamon raisin bread and apples MICROWAVED with these weird caramel balls that - get this - DID NOT MELT. So I tried them by themselves - GROSS. And how long did they take to come out? 40 freaking minutes. Really, were you picking the apples? Upstate? Come on. I would love to come here on a day the microwave is broken to see what they can REALLY cook. read more

I walked into harvest cafe looking to get just a cup of coffee. I waited awhile by the wait ro be seated sign and the worker just kind of ignored me. I guess the story he was telling was way more important. Severall people looked my way but nobody offered service so I decided to leave. It was immediately uncomfortable when i stepped in but i tried to give it a chance. I'll never go there again but hey, maybe they have good food/service someone else. read more

The food is good and I like the atmosphere, but the people working here are really slow. My other half and I have been coming here for awhile but the service clouds the good things about this place. Out of the several times we tried this place it has shown consistently bad service. The people may be nice but waiting 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge your existence and then taking forever to get back to you to order is just silly. If it wasn't such a comfortable place we would have given up a long time ago, but today was the last time. We have crossed this off our places to eat. read more

The first time we went here I was extremely happy with it and gave it five stars! Yet the second time I went there we had three boys with us, Took us a few minutes to sit down with all the dirty tables they didn't have time to clean them and set the guest that were at the door. (problem one: get another bus or do you be able to move more tables) After we finally got that we waited there for 11 minutes ( I was on a call from the time we sat down still someone came to the table) finally when he came to the table he took our orders and left... Food came out pretty fast within 15 minutes maybe. Good was good as always... It seems like they have three servers working the whole restaurant. Every time we go here they're always in the weeds. Tables are always open and dirty. If they put more stuff on to be able to turn tables faster and make more money! We will not be going back here.. This was something we did every Sunday after we got done working out we went and had a nice light breakfast, but we will go somewhere else the wait is just way too long! read more

We had breakfast there a few times, it was okay. We went there today for lunch and our server made us feel like we were a burden. She was rude and our burgers were on the verge of going bad. In fact, besides the lettuce, tomato, and onion on the burgers I don't think any of the food is fresh. All is frozen. JUST a bacon lettuce and tomato between 2 slices of bread. i resent having to pay for items which i do not order or wish to eat. the OWNER was insistent that i pay for items which i do not want. she says she cannot charge me for just a sandwich?????? WHY NOT????????????? This was the first time at the restaurant. When the food arrive two of the meals were hot the wife's and my meals were just warm, but by hash browns were cold. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Great service. Ordered American eggs Benedict that was smothered in sausage white gravy with large slab of ham and delicious hash browns. My husband ordered the eggs with 2 nice pancakes and bacon. He loved it. Lunch specials are many and princes are great. Ok... Looked on line for a good monte cristo sandwich and harvest cafe came up so we figured we'd give the place a try. Now, let me preface this with I am a general manager of a restaurant myself so I am aware what a good dining experience is...this was not it. Waited too long at the front to get seated as the host was also the cashier and since she was taking payments those of us up front just had to stand there and wait. Once we were finally seated the waitress came to our table and the only words she uttered was so...what are you drinking... No hello...No my name is... She definately was right to the point. Once we ordered the food came quickly, but I would have prefered a longer wait time and better food. The two Ruebens we had were so soggy you couldn't lift the sandwich- it just fell apart. The portion of fries was way to small...but in their defense they were also undercooked. The waitress dropped our check off without asking if we wanted anything else and refilled my empty glass of tea without putting any ice in it ( it is called iced tea right) Just a bad overall dining experience.
