I don't know if they had a bad night or what. This place was terrible and I will not be back. To start, it took three people to set up a table for 2, and the table wasn't even clean. The table cloth was dirty and had stains and left over food crusted on it. They brought us our appetizer and a dirty plate. Asked for a new one. We unrolled our utensils and the napkin was stained and not properly washed. Some of food was edible. One plate was not. The water was never refilled. We noticed a lot of people sitting were waiting for an extended period of time for their food, their check, etc. Some of the waiters were nice. One waitress was incredibly rude, and I saw her arguing with multiple customers. One customer was telling her he didn't like his drink, and we listened to her argue with him about it. Dinner last night for Christmas Eve was recommended by our hotel staff. We made reservations and on Christmas Eve we showed up on time. The restaurant itself is nice, Sn older crowd. By that I mean, the average age must have been, 75...That is never an issue for us, just an observation! The service was stellar. The food, our Rib-eyes, were below pair. You wouldn't think you were sitting outside at the end of May because it was so nice. I had the short rib nachos and they were delicious. Been a while since I've eaten at Harvest, but this popped up on my recommendations when looking for a place to have lunch with my wife, and I'm sure glad it did! This was our first time at this particular location, but it's everything we remember loving so much. Between the two of us we enjoyed wife, a blueberry mule, gnocchi, a burger, carrot cake, and a chocolate cake. Omg. Everything was so delicious! It's been a while since I've had a burger at a restaurant but I was not disappointed. In fact, I'd say it was probably one of the best burgers I've had! We stopped for a very late lunch/early dinner after touring the Biosphere. The short rib tacos were to die for! The flavor of the meat was rich, the accompaniments in the taco were fresh, and complimented the meat perfectly. I had the Gorganzola Chicken salad for an entree. The ingredients were fresh, full of flavor and the chicken was cooked perfectly. My daughter had the braised pull pork sandwich. The brioche bun was light and airy, perefectly proportioned to the amount of ingredients between the top and bottom. Apple slaw was cool, crisp and complimented the meat perfectly. I was just visiting, but my daughter was already planning a return visit to have another sandwich. She also commented that there was enough on the menu to satifsfy her vegetarian girlfriend. The only reason I didn't give this place a 1 star is because the service, in particular our waitress was friendly and professional. We thought this would be a good place after looking at the menu and had high expectations. I ordered onion soup and flat iron steak and my wife ordered pork medallions. The onion soup tasted like basic consume with onions and a piece of bread and some average Swiss on top. I ordered the flat iron steak medium rare and it came fairly well done. Turns out they cut the steak prior to cooking, which is a horrible way to prepare meat. Bad kitchen service for sure. Flavor was ok and I chose not to send back. My wife's medallions were pounded so much the had a texture similar to ground meat and the pasta was over seasoned and cold. My risotto wasn't risotto, using the rice doesn't make it risotto, it's a process and they obviously don't know it, it was globby and not at all what I've come to expect from risotto. They advertised locally sourced but they could have fooled me. The seasonal vegetables were standard mixed and well overcooked. I did get a free desert but both my wife and I were thoroughly unsatisfied with the food, this is definitely one we will not be returning to. There were a lot of people there, so I assume there are some foods they might do well, our meals weren't them. read more

It takes a very brave person to go into a restaurant and tell them that you want your duck cooked well-done, so that it isn't bloody. And that person is me, and I like my duck on the well-done side, and I know that when that server heard me say that he was thought... "No... are you sure?" And he did ask me if I was sure, and I laughed and said, that indeed, I knew how it was *supposed* to be done but that I wanted that duck dead. And then that server went back to that kitchen and he told a chef that a crazy person wanted that duck super dead. I bet his heart skipped a beat. But do you know what they did? They brought me a dead, dead duck and then watched as I carved all of the fat off of that duck (who needs that?!) and set it to the side. And they watched me eat that DELICIOUS duck breast just as I'd ordered it. Well-done. Oh, right, and everyone else at the table sampled the menu and ate a lot of other wonderful things like salmon and a burger and a really yummy looking salad. Great service. I was so happy that they killed the duck for me and left it cooking longer than a chef's heart wants to do. Deliciously pleasant. I like burgers. Bottom line. This burger was so delicious. I think it would have been even better with a friend egg on top. But that's another story. We were seated outside because it was so beautiful and I knew it was gonna sprinkle so I wanted to see the scenery from our table. It was closed off from the elements but you could still see the world. It started to down pour and the table that was sitting next to the edge of the exterior got saturated. They couldn't move fast enough before the rain got em. The reason I mentioned this is because the staff was so quick to help, it wasn't just the waiter. It was the manager, the waiter, the waitress it was like the whole team was there to lend a hand. I write this review because the burger was very good. And the wait staff was awesome. My husband had dropped off a shirt at the tailor next store, so we had some time to kill and decided to have lunch here one Saturday. I have passed the restaurant multiple times but never dined here before. We were bummed to see they only offer brunch on Sundays, because that sounded good. And it seemed like they had a special every day of the week except Saturday. We waited a short amount of time because the host was dealing with a couple big parties. The patio looked nice and had misters, but we elected to sit inside and were given a high top in the bar area. Patio seating seemed a hot commodity; one of the big parties was making a huge stink over not being able to sit out there. Our server was nice but less than attentive. It might be nice if they had larger water glasses because we were left with empty ones most of our lunch. I didn't get an alcoholic beverage, but it looked like they had some decent beers and cocktails. A lot of menu items looked good, so we asked our server for advice. He told us the burgers were good and suggested a couple of the salads, and he also said the nachos were really great and they're known for their short rib. So my husband got the braised short rib, and I ordered the nachos. The nachos were decent. The dish is made with potato chips instead of tortilla and has the short rib, queso sauce, and fresh jalapenos. I'd recommend those as more of a snack though and not a meal. My husband's braised short rib was disappointing though. The meat was tender and served atop spinach and whipped potatoes, but it lacked a real flavor profile. It was really just okay. Maybe the short rib is better on the sandwich or tacos. The portions were smaller than I anticipated, but it was more affordable than I thought it would be. Perhaps the service was just off that day. If I return, I would perhaps try a less busy day/time and try a burger or salad. read more

Saturday Brunch! Multiple mimosa flavors and some fun signature brunch cocktails. Menu has a little something for everyone, Greek yogurt to chicken and waffles. My friend ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict. Pork belly was crispy on the edges and salty. The asparagus on top was a good pairing to break up some of the hollandaise sauce. I ordered the short rib omelette, it was PACKED full of goodies. The short rib was tender and the cheese was perfectly melted. It was a ton of food, the omelette took up about half of the plate! The smashed potatoes were amazing. Crispy edges with a salted exterior. If you aren't a fan of salt, make sure you get a good bite of the center with any edges. The combination of the perfectly cooked unsalted center really balances the salted skin. We love coming here for dinner, will definitely make it part of our brunch options now! read more

Ate dinner here back in mid-April on a Sunday. Came in during happy hour so I went with two openers instead of an entree. I ordered the whitefish tacos and hot Nashville chicken sliders. Both were solid. My girlfriend ordered the gnocchi chicken scallopini and enjoyed the dish. For dessert we chose the cheesecake but I forget the flavor and the triple chocolate cake. As the waiter was putting down the cheesecake it accidentally slipped onto the table and so he brought us out and extra one without us asking. I still took the cake that fell on the table home and ate over the next two days. Their desserts are big and delicious. Also, the views of the Catalinas from the restaurant are beautiful. Terrible experience. Ordered the Cobb salad, salmon was way over salted and very fishy. Waitress asked if I wanted salmon redone or chicken so I said chicken but she brought more salmon which was also nasty. A second waitress brought chicken and took it back realizing I already had salmon replaced. Couldn't even eat the salmon. It was the worst salmon my husband or I ever tasted. I live in Austin, TX, but my mom lives in Tucson and on a recent visit out there for our collective birthdays (hers was 3/8, mine 3/13) we decided to celebrate at Harvest because I have been wanting to try this place since I found it on Yelp. What a spectacular experience! We came in between lunch and dinner (3:45pm reservation via Open Table) and practically had the place to ourselves. It was a little too chilly and windy to sit in the covered outdoor area (the view of the Catalinas is spectacular!), so we sat at a half booth/table inside. The decor of this place is just fantastic and really captures the ambiance of fun, contemporary haute american cuisine without even a hint of pretension. Our waitress, Chelsea, was just awesome! And being someone who usually has to ask (usually more than 2x) for lemons w/my water, the fact that she brought a plate of lemons when she brought the waters just started the dining experience off spectacularly!!! So we ran into a bit of a snafu when ordering because, like I said, we came between their lunch/dinner, and the two entrees we wanted were on their dinner menu, but this place being the customer-oriented establishment that it is, Chelsea went and spoke w/the chef to see if they would be able to prepare the dishes early. The chef acquiesced, but needed some lead time to prep, so we had some cocktails and apps in the meantime. The Blueberry Moonshine Lemonade was great and surprisingly refreshing! The warm brie with garlic and fruit chutneys was amazing and the flavors just meshed so well! The short rib tacos hit the spot, and just when I was afraid I wasn't going to have any room for the main course, Chelsea brought out the complementary warm baguette and cherry butter. Thank the food gods I had fasted in preparation for this gastronomic event and that this place knew how to pace a meal. After a quick food break, I was more than ready when they brought out the filet medallions and the salmon main courses. Seriously, there are not words that could do justice to the sheer joy my tastebuds were bathed in when eating the medallions (especially paired w/a glass of their cab sauv)...the meat was perfectly cooked at medium with juices and flavor, but still melt in your mouth texture and the complementing sauce just added to the ecstasy! My mom and I shared our dishes and she got the salmon, wow...just wow. It was perfectly cooked (flaky and full of flavor from the sauce that topped it) and the risotto it came with was continued perfection! I don't know that I would wander far from either of these when I go back! But, that was not the end of this culinary tour du force! After advising that they should have a "wheel out to your car service", post meal; we got our birthday desserts! I had the Cannoli Cupcake and my mom had the german chocolate gelato, both were richly delectable. I have to say that service makes any meal, but when you compound great service with ridiculously great food, this is probably the best meal I have had in Tucson to date and cannot wait to make the 15hr drive from Austin to see if the sequel will live up to the debut! read more

Happen to stumble upon this "hopping" restaurant while familiarizing ourselves in oro valley. We recently moved near this part of town from the Eastside. The owner sat us at a table explained their modern American food concept with everything is homemade, nothing frozen. Although we were early for dinner (4:45) the place quickly filled up. Maybe because of their happy hour specials...I ordered the braised short ribs and hubby had the Greek tacos. Will definitely come back to try more of their menu. I highly recommend this place. I came down from the mountain to find a meal that was not from the resort. I used the Yelp app to find Harvest. We made a reservation for 6:15 and we arrived a little bit prior to the time. You are greeted by the owner I presume and we're promptly seated. We had a lovely table for 4 and enjoyed the short rib nacho appetizers to start and a Harvest Margarita. I had the harvest salad and the salmon with risotto as an entree. The service was excellent and everything tasted delicious. Our kids enjoy their meal which had a nice protein and my wife enjoyed the Gorgonzola Salad. Thanks for a wonderful night and we will definitely return the next time we are in the area. read more

Nice place with sooo many food options that tempted me. Unfortunately I wasn't wild about what I had ordered which was the sweet potato gnocchi with veggies. The capers overpowered the flavored. My friends salmon with risotto was excellent like some of the best I have tasted. Luckily we were kinda splitting our meals. her husband got the salmon salad which was huge and he said delicious. But the best part of our meal was the pumpkin cheesecake. Wow it was delicious. Not too sweet and huge. We all 3 split it. Always good food and drinks. Most wait staff are excellent, 1 or 2 exceptions. One of my regular dinner stops.

The dinner special seafood pasta was very good but the Ahi Tuna salad was mediocre at best. The Tuna was stringy and the rest was just a large amount of field greens. Management credited the salad so that was good. Service was okay and atmosphere on the patio was nothing special. Not sure why this restaurant has a four star review. read more
