I had higher expectations of the food at Harvest, especially for the price. I had the gnocchi chicken scallopini, my husband had the braised short rib. The gnocchi in my dish was great, however some of the pieces of chicken were hard and rubbery. The dish overall had too much of a brine-y flavor due to the capers, artichokes, and lemon on top of that. The braised short rib tasted like pot roast I make at home. The star of the meal was the s'mores bar, now that was the best dessert I've had in a while. The service was pretty good, however it was just my husband and I and the server asked if we were on one check. That gave us a good chuckle. Overall I can't say I'd go back. read more

Went there before the holidays, about 50% capacity and seated right away. Had several waiters, busboys, and the host walk past us in the 20 minutes we sat there and not one of them acknowledged us or even offered water. We walked out and won't be back unfortunately. Wife ordered salmon eggs Benedict. Eggs were way over cooked. Sent back, returned with smoked salmon being grilled to warm which ruined the flavor and the plate was void of sides. The sides came later, much later. I tried to speak to the man that delivered them and he turned and walked away! Full charge, no comps, not even an apology. Been here several times in the past, I'm done. They do not know how, or have not been trained on how to run a business. Btw, I said thanks loudly to the hostess and was ignored. This used to be a great place to go, great food and excellent service, but over time everything has gone downhill. My last visit was frustrating as we were seated and promptly ignored by our server, who never introduced themselves or even offered us drinks. After 30 minutes we quietly got up and left without any interaction by any of the staff. With small, slightly pretentious local places like these it's usually a hit or a miss. With Harvest (at least the Oro Valley location) I find it nails the aesthetic and message that the whole genre exemplifies. I was going to give it a 4/5, as the food is definitely great but not a staple of Tucson, but the waitstaff was incredibly quick to fix a mistake in one of my parties meal, and when another person had a problem with how a meal was prepared, they fixed it immediately with no up charge. We found this local place on Yelp and what a great find! We went twice in 4 days! The lamb shanks were amazing as were the other dishes. Sauces were exceptional and the servings were perfect size..be sure to add a house salad! Servers were excellent! read more

Very good choices of food. Had the chicken Gorgonzola salad. It was great. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and a side salad and daughter had the steak salad. All were pleased with the food. Met friends there a couple of months ago. We were seated in a very dark corner (hard to read the menu) the waiter totally screwed up our drink order. The French onion soup was terrible and our entrees were not worth going back for. Overall a real disappointment. read more

I went in for my first time with my sister who is vegetarian with her baby who she is also raising to be vegetarian. We waited a while until being seated or helped but they were very busy at the time. The server went above and beyond to help my sister to decide on her meal and didn't rush us at all. He didn't leave us hanging or waiting too long and if we needed anything and even recommended off menu options- and went in the kitchen and prepared a strawberry purée type of thing to make strawberry lemonades for us. Their servers seem to have excellent service and I am looking forward to going back for the just as amazing food. read more

Sadly, I had my first bad experience at this restaurant. I thought about leaving my original review as is and not altering it but the salad with salmon I had was pretty bad and so dang expensive! The greens were fresh as usual but the salmon was hard chunks of fish that seriously looked like they were straight out of a can. It tasted flavorless and was very dry. Their prices have gone up but I feel like their food isn't as good. It's hard to imagine any chef would be okay with that leaving their kitchen to be served. My husband wanted to go there for our anniversary to try it out again and see if it was better or worse. This time our selections were very good. I'll probably never get that salad with salmon again, but it's good to know that other menu items are still good. The reason I dropped my rating to 4 stars is because the food here is WAY too expensive to not be excellent every time and it's absolutely too expensive to use canned salmon chunks on a salad. read more

Do not book this venue for a holiday meal. Although I believe this location can serve up tasty dishes and good service on a typical night, they simply lack the organization and staff to successfully fulfill the large, sustained demand that holidays like Mother's Day or Easter require. Wait staff was missing in action. Our glasses sat empty for a sustained period. This, after being slowly consumed for 30 minutes while waiting for our meal. We were only attended to when a member of our party called another--noticeably harried--attendant over. The meal was, embarrassingly (as the person who booked the venue for the occasion), very average. Many of the promised accompaniments were missing from our plates (garnishes, sauces, veggies, toppings). The result was a rather hum-drum meal, lacking any punch. We used to dine here every Tuesday for their lamb special and be sat outside. All was well with that. The past 3 times we have been sat inside and waited on a waiter, it was the same gentleman-glasses, dark hair, tall/skinny, wears long face mask. He took 20 minutes after we were seated the first time to recognize we were there. 2nd time, same thing. The last time, he came promptly over, took our appetizer order (came out in usual five minutes), then forgot about us for the better part of 35 minutes while we could visibly see him behind the bar, joking with the bartender, pouring wine samples for a couple ladies, hugging friends who came to sit at the bar, then realized he hadn't yet come back to our table to bring us a coke and a tea or take our order until we caught his attention after noticing another table being sat in front of us, took their order, and we had to wave him down. Unbelievable. He comped a coke and a tea, then laughed and said "yeah, haha, can't comp the food." Harvest just lost a weekly customer who eats/drinks worth the while to serve us. read more

Another dinner out due to no kitchen yet. I ordered the Salmon and Bobbie got the Gnocchi chicken scallopini. The salmon was pan seared with butternut squash risotto, the salmon was done quite nicely but maybe just a bit over cooked. The risotto had a nice bite to it but just slightly over cooked, I have to say though that doing risotto in a restaurant can be tricky as you aren't cooking it to order but cooked ahead so slightly overcooked isn't a big deal. The veggies served with my salmon were great, they still had a tooth to them and weren't just mush which happens a lot more then it should. Bobbies gnocchi was little pillows of heaven with fantastic flavor. They had a lemon beurre blanc sauce that gave them just a hint of citrus. It had chicken scallopini with it, the chicken wasn't over done at all and paired well with the gnocchi. I ordered a glass of Cab with my dinner after talking to our waiter about the Pinot Noirs they had. I would have prefered a Pinot but he said they both were california pinots and I prefer a true burgundy style pinot so I went with the cab. Over all it was a great dinner. read more

I've never had a disappointing meal at Harvest. Salads are amazing, as is salmon, burgers and their homemade ice creme and other desserts. It can get noisy inside, but the patio has misters and a wonderful view of Pusch Ridge. One of my favorites in Oro Valley!! read more

Went to Harvest to take part in their Valentines Day special. First time it came to us it was cold and returned. The second time it was kinda warm and tasteless. When the server refilled my water glass, he poured the water into my gin and tonic. This is the first time I have ever left without tipping. Probably the worse meal I have ever experienced. What a horrible experience! Check your credit card charges! Also, this would have never made to go social media had manager Daniel used a little customer service! My friend and I had an excellent dinner and asked that the bill be split which it was. She got her bill I got mine. We each left an 8.00tip which was 20%. Three days later I receive a fraud notification from my cc company asking if I meant to leave a 16.00 tip. Keep in mind I completed my bill with the 8.00 tip ... totaled and signed. I called my friend and asked her if she had the same issue. Long story short- the server processed each bills with a 16.00 tip from both of us... a 32.00 total tip on an 80.00 check. When brought to the attention of a he manager on duty she notified the GM Daniel who called me. Daniel said it was an honest mistake by the server.. she's a great honest person... she would never do this on purpose... he will back out the charge and resubmit with an 8.00 tip. Ummm no! I'm not saying the server is honest or dishonest but for sure it's fishy that there were two separate checks each with an 8.00 tip and totaled at the bottom and signed! And each was entered with a 16.00 tip!? One maybe but two seems fishy. After Daniel consistently told me she's an honest person she crying about this issue ...blah blah blah ...:we'll be sure she only gets an 8.00 tip I asked how was the mistake made.... he had no answer... he repeated for the third time ... snippy i might add how wonderful she is. I said no. I'd like all my the tip refunded. With that he said abruptly and rude OK and slammed the phone down. He was on speaker phone so my husband heard the entire interaction then he called my friend and behaved the same way. Had my cc company not notified me... this most likely would have resulted in the server getting a 32.00 tip ... our completed signed receipt meant nothing and Daniel was offended and upset with me?? As stated in previous reviews. This place has a great atmosphere and is obviously popular, since every seat was filled. We still were able to be seated in only a few minutes. The staff is extremely courteous and food comes out quickly. The food looks very fresh. I had the tomato basil soup prior to the chicken gnocchi which were both great. To top things off, they are providing free soup and salad meals to patrons that have been furloughed in the recent government shutdown. Supporting their local community! read more
