If you're looking for great takeout burgers, this is your place. There's a small bar with about 6 place settings, so takeout is the main eating modality. The burgers are chargrilled and have a great texture and flavor. 1/2 lb of meat, fresh veggies and toasted bun goodness. Very juicy and not greasy. Came at 6:50 PM, yelps says they are open till 7 pm. I drove 5 miles because of the reviews. Daniel, who said he was the manager, told me he has cleaned the grill. They need to go home at 7 pm. I have never heard of a place that stops selling, so the paid help can go home at closing time. I knew he was not telling me the truth because there was a woman who was served while I was sitting outside writing this. I told him I would contact the owner, and his response was I don't care." Nice employee doesn't care if he loses business for his owner. I will never return. I I would suggest not to come either. Who knows how well their food is if he treat customers this way. I think harveys is up there next to Maple motor and hunkies. Between these three, these are the best fast food burger spots. In my opinion. The burgers are always good here they got grilled onions grilled jalapeños. They have a quarter pounder and a half a pounder for when you're hungry . I've never really cared of much for them, but they also have the little spiral potato things. The old fashioned type burger is one of the best in town. 1/2 pound regular and 1/4 pound substandard is what me and my babe went with. The onions are chopped up with the ice cold lettuce which makes for a very flavorful bite. The classic cheeseburger was amazing. The fries could have been crispier but we got it to go bc of the Covid. The tots were very food and crispy. Since the hubby and I are mostly "healthy" eaters, we hadn't enjoyed burgers in months. I had the "blu bacon" - an off menu burger listed on the white board, onion rings, and a chocolate shake. Hubbs had the cheeseburger, French fry, drink combo special. We both went with the 1/4lb "sub standard" patty. We would not have been able to finish those 1/2lb patties. The burgers were great, the fries & onion rings were fried to perfection, and my shake was perfect. Service was friendly and fast. One lady brought us our food, and later, another employee checked on us to see if we needed any extra napkins or ketchup. There aren't any tables, but there are two small bar tops in this spot. We sat at one of them and devoured our food. Prices are reasonable. We spent about $21 and were super full. If you want a good burger that's better than what's served in most of the "boutique" burger restaurants that keep popping up, then this is your place. But seriously, they need to get their gift card situation under control. I bought a $20 card for a friend, he tried to use it, it "wasn't activated". I took it back, and fortunately, the lady remembered me buying it or I would have probably been out of luck. Fast forward one year, a friend gives me a $20 card for my birthday. I used it once with no problem, leaving about $7 still on it. Try to use the balance a few months later, guy swipes it, "not activated". WTF? It happens once, I get it. We have been looking for a burger place that actually charbroils their meat I.e. these burgers are legit and full of flavor! We saw them hand rolling fresh ground beef so NO they aren't frozen Patti's. They are fresh and cooked to order, the fries and onion rings are the bomb, tasty and not greasy! Damn. TL;DR + Amazing burgers + Price can't be beat + Great service + Gluten-free buns! While on the quest for the best burger, I just HAD to stop in to Harvey B's while in DFW. Came in on a Wednesday night, only two other guests inside eating at the one of the two small window ledges. Yes....snagged a window seat. Ordered a standard with bacon and cheese and gluten-free bun (yes!!) along with some regular fries. The maestro who was working on my burger (I think his name was Joe), looked to be a seasoned (no pun intended) professional, so I knew the offering he was working on would be nothing short of spectacular. I had no problem waiting for this masterpiece, so I grabbed a grape soda and patiently sat. (Seriously, when do you EVER see grape soda on tap? Had to have it.) Food came up a short bit later, and I opened the foil wrapper to unveil a massively overflowing patty of tasty red meaty goodness. The patty eclipsed the puny bun and the bread knew it was no match for the ample patty with all it accouterments, yet it did not falter or go soggy. The fries were a perfect accompaniment to the burger, crispy and fresh. I enjoyed every juicy, perfectly seasoned bite of that burger until the last of it was gone, to which I then lamented my burger-less existence. So, sad, but full, I exited Harvey B's to resume my life; a life fuller in both existence and gastronomical breadth, yet emptier for the lack of hamburger masterpiece in front of me. Harvey B's is the type of place alot of people aspire to find in big cities. When I pulled up they had a speaker outside playing some great song & I knew this one was a good one. Walking in I could tell EAST DALLAS was where I was at and the staff. The staff was excellent with helping me with everything on the menu, recommendations, great convo and just a great vibe in Harvey B's. I got the patty melt which started at the toast with melted butter & nice crisp. Meat was 1/2LB with cheese melted just right at the point every burger chef looks for. My cook was Maria & she was nice with it. Onion rings were made that morning and let me tell you the crunch on that ring was what I thought it was going to be...EXCELENT with the matching seasoning & then I finished it with a chili cheese dog that was overflowing with chili & cheese. I was digging around for one of the best burgers in DFW and stumbled across this gem. Some burgers like to camouflage themselves under a mountain of toppings to seem like a better burger than what they are, that is NOT the case with this burger. This burger is charbroiled/char-grilled and that really adds depth and richness to the meat. A modest topping selection is a good thing when you want good meat to shine and that's the case with Harvey B's. It's a no frills burger that I'll find hard to not stop and get whenever Im driving through the area. Also we shared one order of onions between the three of us and that was a mistake. My visit was back on April 5, 2015 so I'm a bit late... Ate at Harvey B's for lunch today. It's been on my radar to try since I saw an article on it about a month ago. At the time of that article, I believe it was called Harvey G's but now it is Harvey B's. I didn't ask why the change. I was just there to try out a new burger place. The photo is of the Pancho Villa--which was referenced in the article. They had other items that weren't so flashily named but I figured if I was going to test out the joint that I'd start with the fanciest-named, largest-sounding, most-toppings burger they offered. Turns out it was a good choice! That my friends is a 1/2 pound burger with hashbrown, egg, bacon, ham, cheese and 1000 Island sauce. To tell you the truth, I was a little hesitant about the 1000 Island sauce. I expected it to be drenched in the sauce like many places do with the "special" sauce that makes up the sandwich. However, I didn't taste a whole lot of the 1000 Island sauce or at least it wasn't so overwhelming that I really didn't know it was the sauce. Is that good or bad? Hell if I know but the burger itself was pretty tasty. The inside of the hash brown was steaming when I bit into the burger. The egg was not runny but it wasn't a well-done egg either. The bacon was...well, bacon and it was the right combination of not soft and not crunchy. I didn't taste a lot of the ham but it could have just been drowned out by it's brother bacon. The bun held up well with all this juicy gooey innards. I didn't get any sides because I figured the burger would be filling enough. However, my kids did get a combo: one with spiral potato fries and the other with cheesy spiral potato fries. The spiral potato fries are basically thin potato slices cooked not too soft and not too crispy (although we preferred a little more crisp but maybe not quite like a chip). They were flavored fairly well. The queso fries to us was more like Ro-Tel poured over the fries and they weren't really generous with the queso. I'm thinking they didn't want to put too much on it to make them like droopy nachos. Which was fine with us since again it tasted like Ro-Tel. The cashier was very friendly and knew her stuff when taking my order. I probably took more time ordering than she did punching in everything. She also was kind enough to bring us a small cup of the queso to taste test with the fries before she realized we actually ordered some. She said, "Well go ahead and take this too." Which was smart because it's better to offer than not to in my opinion. About 7-10 minutes later, she came by again to give us plastic Easter eggs which had two Hershey Kisses in each of them. It was Easter Sunday after all and it was a wonderful gesture. All in all, it was a good outing. My kids liked their burgers: one got the 1/4 substandard and the other got the 1/4 B.B.Q. Bacon Cheese. It did hit me on the way home that it cost me like $31.00 for all the food and three medium drinks. Which makes me think of other establishments like Smashburger, Twisted Root and Liberty Burger where the burgers are fairly priced (around $5-$7) but then when you add a side and drink it's like $12-$15 for one person. That's kind of outrageous for me. But again, it was a good time with the kids and we tried a new burger joint. Between the drive from my home and the costs, I'll probably stay closer to home but it's nice to know if I'm in that area again and I get hungry that Harvey B's has a pretty darn decent burger. read more

Being that it was my first time I had to go all in. I got a chili burger 1/2 pound and added some pastrami on that bad boy made it a combo with some onion rings. On the side I got some old fashion fries with queso, and those were the first things gone... lol. Also got some fried pickles and jalapeño poppers. Of course I had food to go home with! I mention this as Harvey B's is one of the best tasting burgers in Dallas! I've been there many times for burgers, salads, spiral fries with queso. Their shakes are great! They have RC Cola! RC cola with a dash of lemonade is the best! But I digress. The key to their fame is the owner knows the taste buds of Dallas. The burgers are char grilled. A chargrilled patty on a salad (or 2) is THE way to lower the carbs. It may not have a sitting area to eat, but, for take out, I have not found a better burger joint in Dallas. I used to love Harvey B's, when it opened and the owner was engaged, and they truly cared about how satisfied customers were with each and every order. Now, Harvey's is on their second order, and the product has declined substantially. I love a juicy medium rare big burger, which this place consistently delivered for a great price years ago. Now, the prices are the same, but when I ordered by standard medium rare the other day and took a seat to watch, I witnessed the lady at the grill smash my burger at least 20 times as it sat on the grill, so when I received it, it was a little pink on the inside, and dry as the desert at high noon, thoroughly unenjoyable- no soul, and all the energy and life literally smashed from the patty.
