Now open more than a year, it had fast become an Ashland favorite. Top quality staff with attention to detail. The menu has something for everyone and is quality in favors and presentation. Personally I love their meatloaf....yep, meatloaf, delicious. I also love their specials, different "chefs choice" steaks nightly, great burgers, different appetizers, such as their baked Brie....simply sumptuous. In a great location right downtown, it's convenient for locals and tourists alike. It's truly not a late night spot, not does it try to be, but it is a wonderful spot to have a drink with a friend or a loved one and not have to compete with loud music or noise. read more

This place was beyond disappointing. First time in Ashland for the Shakespeare festival and the town closes Pretty early. This place was one of two still serving food at 9pm. The server was nice but the food was disgusting. My burger was burnt, smothered in cheese and overkill of mushrooms. I had two bites and couldn't eat anymore. My husbands eggplant parmigiana was old as dirt. You could tell it was cooked at least a week ago and reheated. For the prices the food did not live up at all. And who is Harvey? Fantastic tasting food and nicely prepared. Caesar salad--perfect! Spinach sides were heavily garlicked--which was awesome. Chicken Picata very good as was the pork chop. Four of us came here to try out one of the newest restaurants in town. We all loved the updates to the inside. Some people have said its too loud, I would disagree. We came at 6pm on Friday and could easily have a nice conversation. We all ordered drinks which were delicious. The service was excellent. We walked in here on a whim, which was probably a mistake. It wants to be good but is not. The good points that can't be ruined are the bar. But the waitresses have too many table and try and get your drink to the the table is difficult. Also, the wait staff are not the real deal, so they tell you what is healthy or not in the menu- not their business! The bread and wine came late. I really enjoy Harvey's Place. The food is good, the drinks are stiff, and the service is always great. I've had their amazing and mouthwatering Baked Brie, and it's decadent and lovely. I have positive things to say about the scallops; awesome, tender, and with great sauciness. I really love the ambiance too. It's very relaxed and non-pretentious. We'll keep coming back. read more

We loved this restaurant. We are fairly easy to please people, and don't demand anything other than good food and courteous service. Harvey's far surpassed that expectation. We arrived late in the evening on Valentine's Day with no reservations, and they only had to ask us to wait a few minutes before they found a table for us. The service was perfect, the atmosphere intimate, and the food was to die for. I had the chicken picatta, and never before have I had polenta that I would rave about, but the rosemary polenta was exquisite! We wanted baked brie as an appetizer, but they had run out so we had the artichoke dip and some oyster shooters which were fantastic. I would go back in a heartbeat. There are so many places to choose from in Ashland and I'm so glad we chose Harvey's! read more

We give this place an A+. We called Harvey's Place and made reservations for our dinner group. We spoke to Rob who was absolutely easy to work with, courteous and professional. When we had requests, they immediately made arrangements for us (No road blocks or hesitations). They even gave us their best offer without us having to ask. Initial communication already made us feel that we are valued customers. On the day of, staff further assisted us as professionals, our guests enjoyed their steak dinners, and the room space was fitting for our party. Everything turned out well even though it was our first time booking a reservation at Harvey's Place. It seems like they know how to run a business in a great way. I take it back, not "it seems like" but they do know how to work with customers and run a business. I am very well pleased and if we come back to Ashland for dinners and events, Harvey's Place would be my first choice and my recommendation to everyone else. read more

Went here twice in one week, the food was so good. I had the shrimp with polenta, the tomato soup, the Mac and cheese and the baked bree. All delicious. Only drawback was the first time I came with friends, we had to ask to be moved to a different table because we were right under a cold air vent. read more

Quite frankly, I wasn't initially receptive to Harvey's. I like the ambience, but it seemed too predictable and the lunch I had there not long after it opened was just meh. However lately it's become a favorite. Wonderful fish specials and in winter the filet mignon special for $29 is delicious, perfectly cooked, and paired with a Caesar salad is enough for two. You just can't argue with that. Plus they leave up their lovely Christmas decorations longer than most of the restaurants in town, so just when you think the holiday magic is over... voila! read more

Ummm pasta was overcooked and the paella looked like it was made in the microwave; soggy and mushy. "Fried" chicken was baked and the inside was so dry I would expect the value of the meal to be a good ratio to the portion and taste, but it isn't sadly. read more

The place looks nice, and the service was fine. One can have a perfectly decent meal here, but I expected a little better from the place, given the prices. The menu description of the wedge salad mentioned Rogue Creamery blue cheese and bacon, both of which were in scant supply for a $9.50 salad. The description of the Caesar specifically mentioned anchovies, which also seemed to be lacking. My blackened cod special was OK, but it came with spinach and polenta that were quite uninteresting. The salmon served to another in our party was ordered medium, but ended up a bit overdone and dry, and came with the same spinach, and with widely-trendy horseradish mashed potatoes. Fish portions seemed a little on the small side (maybe a touch over 3 ounces). Our companions seemed to have better luck with the seafood linguine and the chicken caprese entrees. To summarize, while this is still one of the nicer places in Ashland, and the meal was OK, I expected something more inspired for the price. read more

It went from bad to worse. The hot tea I ordered took 15 min to arrive. They were out of both entrees that we ordered so we went with our second choices. It took 30 minutes because they had "messed up our tickets" (words from our waitress). When my pork chop finally arrived it was raw in the middle. The waitress offered to have the chef cook it more but when it came back, the underside was black. It was chewy and inedible. To the waitress's credit she did take it off the bill. All in all it was a hugely disappointing dining experience. We will not go back. read more

Stopped in for a bite before a concert last night. Sat at the bar so we could watch the World Series. We each had their soup of the day with a side salad. Soup - corn chowder - was excellent. Great corn flavor with nice spicing backing it up. Side salad was a hint tired, but the dressing - blue cheese - was some of the best we've ever had in the US. Had a nice selection of draft beers although a beer list would have been much nicer than having our very good bar/wait person recite them. Overall, a very enjoyable light meal. read more

I first went in to Harvey's a year ago when they opened. The owners did such an amazing job changing the classic Chateaulin restaurant into a new dining experience. I ordered a drink and prawns and polenta at the bar and enjoy the company of the bartender. My first night there was just perfect. I recently went through Ashland again and stopped in. Again I was welcomed by a friendly staff and prompt service. This time I ordered their dinner special, which was halibut topped with a mango salsa. All the flavors were right on point and went together so well. I had their cucumber cooler, a new summer drink I was told. Muddled mint, cucumber, and lime with hendricks gin. It might be my new summer favorite. The ambiance, service, and food is all around delightful. I can't wait for my next trip through so I can eat at my new favorite in Ashland, Harvey's Place. read more

I went to Harvey's Place for New Years Eve dinner a little over one year ago and ended up with a horrible case of food poisoning from their salmon entree. I had never had food poisoning before and it shocked me that such a nice restaurant neglectfully cooked their salmon. When I ordered the dish the waitress even said to me, "We cook our salmon medium-rare, is that OK?" And I said it was fine, assuming that they knew how to cook it best. I was sick for over one week, with a fever for almost three days straight. Most sick I have ever been. After almost a week, when I could get up and talk again, I called Harvey's Place and spoke with a man about how I was poisoned from their cedar plank salmon entree. The man told me the manager wasn't in, but he would take my number and the manager would call me back as soon as possible because they take food poisoning seriously. It has been over one-year and I have yet to receive a call back. I will never go back to Harvey's Place. What a disappointment and what a way to ruin my NYE. read more

Well Unbelievable, the food was over priced and horrible. I had the rib appetizer tasted like montrral steak seasoning poured all over it. Service was bad and decor left me longing for a funeral. Sorry but major improvement on your menu needs to happen. The renovations were nice but bad choice of color scheme, its dark and drab. We've been making our yearly week long trek to Ashland for the last five or six years. Last night we were part of the evening stampede of theater goers who crowd the restaurants between 5:30 and 7:45 and then all pour out into the streets dashing off to our respective shows. This was our first time at Harvey's and we'd arrived a bit late such that if the service lagged we'd have been pressed to get to the theater on time. On all accounts our experience was stellar. Service was attentive without our feeling rushed. The food was fantastic. Among the four of us we had the baked Brie appetizer, pork chop, crab salad, hamburger, and the meatloaf. My pork chop was cooked perfectly. We were all quite pleased with our meal. read more

This started as a lovely experience and I was ready to become a regular - nice atmosphere, friendly quick service, appealing menu. When our food arrived, the soup and salad were delicious. However, something was clearly wrong with the Croque Monsieur. After a few bites my companion and I agreed that it tasted very strongly of mold and concluded the bread must be moldy. We informed our waitress, who went to go talk to management. She returned with our full-price check and reported that the staff said the bread was fresh and not moldy. They did not offer to replace the inedible sandwich, or discount our bill at all. I won't be back. read more

We arrived later on a Friday night, 2 hungry kids in tow, while we were seated promptly, the service was moderate and our meals took a very long time. Ultimately our son didn't eat much of his $25 pork chop since he was just done. Too loud for a conversation. Too dark ambience and young inexperienced staff-gave a lot of incorrect information about beer, e.g., Elysian is from Oregon...... The burger was greasy and below average. Beer selection was typical northwest, nothing unique. Mostly the atmosphere made for an uncomfortable dining experience. read more

Service was okay the night we went. Menu looks better than it is, though. Poor execution, generally. Cocktails are particularly week: warm ingredients dumped into cold mixers, and served warm. Or warm ingredients poured over so much watery ice that the thing was tasteless. Horrible. read more

I dined at Harvey's last night and had a delightful meal. My companion and I had the 1/2 lb. hamburger with Jarlsberg cheese...just delicious! We also enjoyed the iceberg wedge with bacon, tomatoes and Rogue Creamery Blue Cheese dressing. My Malbec was great and the dessert---fabulous...we had the berry cobbler--so yummy. Yes, it was noisy, but we had no trouble having a fine conversation. Our waitress was pleasant and fairly attentive. I am so pleased that Harvey's is a part of the dining scene in Ashland now, as Chateaulin was great, but just too pricey for me. I will definitely go back to Harvey's. read more

We would go back for the amazing Bree appetizer but probably not for dinner. The bree was fabulous and done with just the right mixture of add ins. However the chicken caprese was weakened by the polenta and the croque monsieur was nothing fabulous. I still gave 4 stars and would recommend because of the appetizer and the very attentive staff. There are so many restaurants to choose from in this cool little town in southern Oregon. We chose Harvey's, and had a lovely dinner. The atmosphere is quite nice with brick and dark wood. Beautiful lighting compliments the decor well. We were seated promptly and our waitress appeared soon after. She was knowledgeable and pleasant and took our orders. The wine choices by the glass were limited, but she recommended one that was very nice. The salmon was outstanding. We ate every bite and it was plenty for both of us. Since we were just passing through we will probably not get a chance to eat here again, but would sure love to. read more

The staff here are very friendly and down to earth. I don't like pretentious restaurants and this place has friendly efficient wait staff. We had several special requests to the entrees due to dietary considerations and they were wonderfully able to accommodate us. The portions were good sized but not huge. I had the Halibut special with shiitake mushrooms. My wife had the seafood linguine. Both were very good. We especially enjoyed the heirloom caprese salad. The dressing was so good we used it afterwards as a bread dip. We liked it so much we went back twice in the same week. read more
