In town for a conference and stopped in for dinner at Harvey's. One of the best meals ever! Our waitress, Madison, was super helpful and steered us in the right direction food-wise. Pimiento dip was outstanding and the shrimp skewers were excellent. Honestly, even the side salad was memorable! To top it off, it was half price on bottles of wine. So I came to town to visit some family and we decided to come to Harvey's and have dinner. It's been a really long time since I've been to this restaurant. I love all the changes that have been done with the Decour inside. Gives it a very modern look but still has the MSU touches that are great for the locals. We ended up having a late dinner here. It was maybe about an hour and a half before they were about to close. So the restaurant wasn't too full which was really nice. My family and I got appetizers to share. They are known for their broccoli bites. Which are really really good! And the cheese sticks are also wonderful. Both appetizers cost $8.95 each. I also got a cocktail. I got the blood orange margarita which was pretty good. For our entrées family got the prime rib sandwich $12.95 and I tried one of the specials for the night, The Cajun shrimp and crab linguine $24.95. My family enjoyed the prime rib sandwich. I even got to taste a little piece of the meat and it was very tender and moist. My pasta was good I wish you had a little more Cajun flavor that's really the only thing it was lacking but it was good. It tasted even better when I warmed it up the next day I guess it had a chance for all the flavors to really soak up in the pasta. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. We had a large group of 12 and were seated in a back room where we could hear each other and not be too loud for other diners. Our server did an excellent job of taking our orders and getting them correct with only one misfire: a salad with wrong dressing, which he quickly corrected. The manager also checked on us a couple of times to be sure we were pleased with everything. The 2 biggest hits at our table were the shrimp and grits and the barbecue chicken salad, but folks were also happy with the prime rib sandwich and the market catch (I had this; the redfish was perfect, while the crab cake was good, but nothing special). Went to Harvey's on a recommendation. Atmosphere was great server was excellent. Order a classic ribeye medium rare with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Meal arrived and steak was over cooked to medium well and was cold, they brought grits instead of mashed potatoes and broccoli was raw. Hesitantly told server and she right away brings Hayden the manager over. I explain what I ordered and what was wrong. He says let me make this right and brings plate back to kitchen. Comes back with same steak heated up so now it's well done. I only had one bite out of it. Broccoli comes hot but not cooked again. I had enough so I pay bill and leave. Before leaving Hayden apologized and asked me to come back so he can make it right. Sorry Hayden you had your chance and you didn't take care of it. I paid $70 full price for a couple bites of a very disappointing meal. No I will not be coming back. In fact I will be telling everyone I work with never to eat there. Learn to take care of your customers, that was definitely not making it right. Very disappointed. read more

Definitely get the fried cheese sticks to start and you won't go wrong with a steak for your entree. Mine was cooked to perfection. Both the fries and Mac & cheese are great sides. Very nice service, bring your ear plugs because they scream at you. My steak was ordered medium. Whenever I received it, the center portion was actually cold. I ate around it until I lost my appetite . Over sold on truffle French fries which actually turned out to be only regular fries. Nothing special. This was after a game. I would go on nights that there are no games and the kitchen is not overwhelmed. The lady got mad because I ask for tomatoes with my Cesar salad because it's not supposed to blend apparently . Ordered 4 16oz Prime Ribs and every single one were pretty much inedible. It's not a preparation or cooking issue, the quality of the meat you are serving is inexcusable. For a $35 cut it shouldn't be nearly all fat and gristle. All 4 of ours were like this, so it's not a statistical outlier. The old folks couldn't even cut anything out without having to saw through lots of gristle strings, then they couldn't even chew it. I heard great things about this restaurant and it's really a shame that you are serving such low quality meat to your customers. I'd be happier if you couldn't offer it because you don't agree with serving customers subpar food. But because you served me such bad food, I have to recommend anyone not go to your restaurant until the issue is resolved one way or the other. read more

Went here for brunch and had an excellent meal. We made reservations for 10am which is the time they open. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. It is a combination of fine dining meeting sports bar because of the MS memorabilia around the restaurant. They offered the traditional menu with some brunch options. We had the chicken and waffles and the skillet scrambler. Both were delicious! The waffle was so fresh with just right crisp edges. We did have the broccoli bites which were good but I wish they had a more pronounced broccoli taste. The biggest standout that I noticed was around customer service. Our server was awesome and every person that had interaction with us asked how our dining experience was going and if we needed anything. This alone was a fine detail that pushed my review to 5 stars. I would have loved to come back here for dinner and enjoy a steak but my trip was over. 8/21/24 Update: I was asked by the manager of the restaurant to give him a call back to discuss. I called the manager on Friday and was told he was busy but that we could leave a message and he would call us back. It is now Wednesday and still no call back. I'm sorry, but it's not good business to leave a response on Yelp to call you and you don't even call back. Very disappointing :( I do not live in the area, but decided to come here for dinner due to the great reviews on Yelp. This place was so packed and the wait time was crazy long. No problem, we waited for a seat. I ordered a French 75 and friend ordered an Old Fashioned and both were mid-level drinks. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good, however the fried broccoli was not very good (although we were told this was the best thing to get on the menu). Went with four people who all ordered steaks Medium Rare. It took almost an hour to get our food and then everyone's steaks were cooked incorrectly. Some were completely rare and some were medium well. No flavor on the steaks and expensive prices. Don't say you're a steak restaurant if you can't consistently cook to the temperature asked of you. Hmmm, Harvey's. I have tried multiple dishes on their dinner menu and they always are very mediocre. I have had the steak, pasta, shrimp, and chicken dishes, which I was continually disappointed by. In terms of dinner I think this is one of the "nicer" restaurants in Starkville, but I would not recommend it for dinner. In saying this, I get their grilled chicken club salad with honey mustard AT LEAST once a week. It is around $13 and is a fantastic salad! Go for lunch not dinner!! read more

Disappointing- certainly not what it used to be. Tried a mahi special - smelled awful - looked worse and was literally Inedible - didn't eat but one bite - the server didn't ask why just took it away and brought us the bill. The fish I doubt was really mahi- it was reddish brown. Served with some crawfish sauce over green beans out of a can. Used to be a great place - we try every couple months but is really hit and miss. read more
