Here on vacation from New Jersey. The food was excellent, if you don't like crowds get here early. Really cool atmosphere, my girlfriend and I ate on the patio. This morning we went to hatch for some early morning mimosas! Needless to say we found our new breakfast spot in Arizona. We try to stay away from chains and support smaller businesses but I can't say enough about how great everything was that we tried. It was not your typical chain bland food. We ordered the breakfast burrito and brunch sandwhich. The fries were also super yummy. We also brought our dog as they are dog friendly out on the patio. I can't say enough great things about this place. If you want a quieter breakfast this may not be the spot because they do have the music pretty loud. The lemon flavor was nicely balanced by the blueberry compote on the top layer. We saw this restaurant on Food Paradise and tried on a visit from Chicago. Everything but the pancakes. The places is different than the Indian School Rd It has a lower key and more sophisticated atmosphere. It is clean and the staff move faster and more organized. They follow up at a reasonable rate so your food isn't cold by the time they come back and check on you. The music isnt blaring so you can have an adult conversation. I am a coffee snob so I require more than just the coffee and she did it with no problems. The whipped cream was very tasty. The buttermilk pancakes were rock heavy and not cooked through enough. Maybe another 5 mins. They were thick enough just heavy from being too raw. But I took home the rest and will finish them at home. It was so pleasing there and next time we will sit on the patio now it's warming g up. Go. Enjoy. read more

Hash Kitchen is honestly one of the best brunches I've ever been to, period! Everything about our experience was amazing. We went to this location on a Monday morning, roughly around 10-11am, and it was perfect. There are multiple different locations, but I noticed that this location was better for people who want a chill brunch. I also saw more kids and families here too. It was very spacious and gorgeous so we were taking pictures at every wall, around every corner lol. I ordered the queso Birria Benedict and I was almost tempted to order another one and pack it up and put it in my suitcase.. it was pure perfection! It was like a breakfast version of nachos. The mimosa flight was pretty and fun, and it added that sweet element that I feel a lot of mimosas don't seem to have. The cookie shots were fun too, however, don't expect much sweetness from the cereal and the cookie is also a hard crunchy texture. When I tell you this was one of our favorite food places during our trip to Scottsdale - that's saying a lot because we ate a lot of good food during our vacation! The location was convenient on our way to downtown Scottsdale, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that we were able to be seated right away on a weekday around 10am with no wait. The place is a fun vibe. With the Bloody Mary bar, the fun music playing, unique dishes, and the very friendly staff they were able to make a great impression! The food was outstanding. The waiter gave great recommendations and was patient as we made our decision. We ended up going twice on our trip. The first time my husband got the carnitas hash and I got the breakfast potato tacos. We split a half order of the protein packed buttermilk pancakes which were amazing! We paired our Strawberry Mimosas, which had muddled strawberries making the flavor very fresh, with caffeine choices: French press (absolutely delicious coffee, I didn't even use creamer, just a touch of sugar), Latte also delicious and creamy. This place is always my go-to for large group outings or out-of-town visitors. It's a fun and lively spot (sometimes a little loud but that's part of the experience), and the food is pretty good. There are a lot of different options for everyone - I always like the savory breakfast options like the avocado toast or chilaquiles, but sometimes we've gotten a sweet menu item to share on the side. I'm not a Bloody Mary person but I imagine the bar is a plus for anyone who is. The only downside is that this location doesn't take reservations or online waitlist and it can get pretty busy. What a fun concept. If I was in my 20's I'd be drinking like a fish here because the drinks that they offered looked so fun. I didn't get an adult drink, just coffee to start off the morning- which came in a carafe, and that's fun. Service was prompt. We arrived at 9ish on Monday and I can imagine that this place must get pretty packed on the weekends. We opted to sit inside due to lack of sunlight outside (not quite warm enough yet). The inside is bright, unique, and promotes a fun experience. Mom and I ordered the potato tacos with carnitas and a gluten free waffle to share- there was plenty. A waffle is a waffle- right? But when it's gluten free and doesn't taste gluten free that's when we are winning. The potato tacos seriously had amazing flavor- some Spice and some sweet, and the crunch was perfect even while it sat in sauce. But the star? The CARNITAS. It's the best carnitas that I have ever had, and I've had a lot. It wasn't dry, but also not mushy. The pieces that were slightly crisp maintained their moisture and flavor. I was not expecting a DJ blasting club music at 11am on a Friday morning at brunch. Especially because Hash Kitchen is located between a Sprouts and Panera Bread in a Scottsdale strip mall parking lot. We were looking for a nice spot with good food, instead we ended up with expensive and mediocre food. If you're into day clubs and drinking or with a large group celebrating something, this very well could be the spot for you. However, if you actually want to talk to the people you're eating your meal with this probably isn't the place. Because of the noise, we sat on the patio and I still had to project my voice much more than normal to their team when trying to order. I couldn't believe it. When the food came out, it was fine. The hash had decent flavor and the pulled pork was good. The French Toast was basically just toasted brioche served with nowhere near enough syrup to give it any flavor. Don't recommend their NA drinks, the edible glitter doesn't make up for the flavor. Overall, my impression is that this spot is for a party crowd looking to listen to loud music and drink while eating an okay brunch. If that isn't you, try somewhere else. read more

This was a good brunch place, but there are a few things that really throw off the experience if you're not looking to drink. The music is very loud and it makes it kind of hard to talk to people in your party. The service is good but somewhat slow (waited about 30 min for our food) and the overall vibe of the restaurant is kind of chaotic. The food is good and they have a great menu. The coffee was also good! The pricing is ridiculous although it is Scottsdale, but I paid $15 for a normal eggs benedict. The French press coffee or cold brew options are more than $7 so I got a latte for $4.50. I added a side of chicken sausage, expecting multiple, but got one single sausage and that was an extra $6. $30 for a small meal and coffee is pretty steep. When taking our order our servers was practically yelling at us when taking our order. Yes I understand that there was a DJ playing loud music but there was no reason to yell! When our food came out, I asked for some ketchup in which the the girl said let me get your server, which 5 minutes later he hasn't came back so I ask another girl and she said the same thing. By then I gave up and started eating. After I have already finished eating half my plate did the ketchup finally came out. Visited this place to kick off our cousins trip and the drinks were amazing. Mimosa flights were awesome. There was also a Bloody Mary bar in which you were able to build your own with all of the toppings which was super neat for a set price.
