I am going to update my review. Since the last review I had reached out to the owners expressing my disappointment in the menu changes. They were quick to respond, which I do appreciate. Due to the increase in cost for the ingredients to make select items, those selections were removed from the menu. Rather than increasing the charge to the customer those items were removed and replaced with other items. Though I am disappointed, I do understand the financial business decision. The Mojito's are seasonal and change with each season. I am looking forward to the return of the guava jalapeño Mojito's, hopefully returning this winter. read more

Ate here at Havana WC on Mother's Day around 4pm. The place was packed with people celebrating so service was slow. We sat at the table for at least 15 minutes before our server showed up to greet us. No water or anything before he showed up and we just say there waiting. It's understandable so I was not going to let that bother me. I ordered the green garlic paella and my wife ordered the regular paella. Both were made super oily and soggy. I couldn't even bare to eat anymore than a couple of bites. In any case, I wasn't even going to review this restaurant but the straw that broke this camel's back is the server modified my credit card receipt to round up to his convenience. The bill was $80 and some change and I was generous to total the bill to $100, more than 20% tip even though the service was just mediocre. But the nerve he has to modify the total amount to $100.93 just rubs me the wrong way. It's 93 cents so I really couldn't care less but the action itself just pisses me off. Mediocre service, bad food, and dishonest people are all one can expect here. Never come here again read more

Never disappointed in food or service. Drinks on the other hand were a little $$$ for minimal booze. Typically, one drink before meal gets us nice & relaxed, but nothing, not even a hint of booze. We crave Havana & will make a day around it. Great location & love the outdoor dining. The only positive side to the pandemic. Hope they're able to keep the setup. read more

Ok we decided at the last minute to not go to haps in Pleasanton we thought we should stay local so we made a reservation at Havana for our anniversary no mistake great people great food can't ask for more our hostess Rochelle she was the bomb my wife told her it was our anniversary . When we finish dinner she comp us a beautiful desert awesome stuff lime and pineapple pudding really good anyway back to the food the chicken was spicy sticky and yummy good and of course the paella was to die for and the empanadas beefs with a spicy sauce was also wonderful all in all this place rocks and the people working there makes it happen read more

I've only been to Havana for dinner but this time decided to try their brunch. They got me at bottomless mimosas! Service and vibe was amazing, Angel was so fun and went above and beyond. He took great care of us! Food was delicious and the mimosas were flowing. We ordered the plantain French toast, fried chicken & waffles and chilaquiles. We were so happy we were able to order their empanadas (our usual order for dinner). I didn't get our hostess name but she was so sweet! She came over a few times and checked in as well. I love Havana! They serve delicious Cuban cuisine and their mojito and Caipirinha is truly tasty. I came with a GF for a cocktail so we sat by the bar. The waitress must have made pitchers after pitchers of Sangria i lost count! We shared their Scallops and Grilled Shrimp appetizers and they were very good too. The bartender was just super sweet and very attentive. I can't wait to return to try their entrees and stay later for their live band playing! My is Cuban and cooks delicious home made Cuban cuisine, so we had a bit of high expectations. Disappointed with the menu and especially flavor. I don't think we'll be returning! Our waitress was very attentive when she came to our table although we had to wait for a while it was busy. However after taking our order and we told her it was my wife's day. We didn't see her again until she brought the bill. I had to remind her it was my wife's Bday again and we were ordering desert. Sadly I got charged for the dessert where most restaurants even home in the walls give it as an appreciation. We didn't even get a do you need anything else? Not even the table was being addressed as we went along with our meal, had to ask the hostess can we get someone to clear the table. Sad.. After all this supposed to be a Cuban style restaurant it should at least have a genuine Cuban chef, even though it's been Americanized, to maintain that Cuban flavor. read more

Starting with the food: it was fresh. beautifully presented and delicious. The waitstaff, led by Joe, was welcoming, and could not do enough to make the experience superior. The staff is great! So friendly and attentive! Our waiter made sure our bottomless mojitos were always on deck! The food presentation was lovely and the food came out quickly which was great. The flavor of the food itself left a lot to be desired. I am used to Cuban and Puerto Rican food with much more garlic, caper, sazon flavors. It wasn't bad, it just didn't taste like authentic Cuban food. The sofrito rice however was not good. I don't usually like pickles on sandwiches but this is just perfection - Ham & Cheese Croquettes: like an elevated mozzarella stick with better, gooier cheese, little ham pieces, and more flavor. Unfortunately, we received take out from them today and the tuna tartare was clearly spoiled, it was gray and smelled terrible (we threw it away). My boyfriend and I decided to try Havana for the first time last night and it was AMAZING! We were seated very quickly. The drinks we started with were 10/10! We went with our waiter Santino's recommendations on some food and drink items and they did not disappoint! He was very attentive and one of the best servers we've had at any restaurant. Been here twice now and will definitely be back! They have a great variety of mojitos as well as tapas/entrees. I went with a group of 5 and we (I kid you not) ordered all of the desserts on top of a paella and 4 apps (croquettes, scallops, yucca fries, and plantains). All were absolutely delicious and our server was super sweet and accommodating. I've also gotten the wings and rice which are great alternatives if you don't want a whole paella. read more

I tried this place for the first time and was not impressed. The food was mediocre at best. I had the yucca fries and mojo chicken wings, which were waaay over-cooked. Maybe that's why it took forever for our food to come out - they were cooking the wings until they turned into rubber. The yucca fries and drinks were okay. I am finally at a moment where I can sit and write how amazing our event was on Saturday at Havana! Our annual appreciation celebration for our nonprofit volunteers could not have been as memorable at any other place other than Havana! First upon my arrival the staff was eager to assist me with setup of our decorations; even providing batteries and extra lights for our table centerpieces and helping me getting them to work, and then helping place-set extra plate chargers, programs and gifts I brought for the event. A special shout out to the event staff and server (Amanda, Maria, Ryan) for assisting me with every last minute detail including special menu item change for guests with allergies, menu selection changes and even down to recommending and helping arrange a quick repair for the glass frame for one of our gifts which broke on my way to the restaurant. And on top of it all accommodating us by offering us extra time to get through our program, since the next party's guest wasn't arriving until a couple hours after our event. The extra time helped ensure all of our gift presentations were done without interference to everyone enjoying the amazing food and the bonus extra deserts made our event close out with a huge hit of a surprise! Our guests were amazed with the room atmosphere, food, service and and the music was excellent. Considering having The Voice from one of our local radio stations in attendance, it's great the piped Quiet Storm music station selection was a good choice for our listening pleasure and so befitting for who was in the room! Only thing is I hoped for a more seamless transition from our party to the next as the host of the next party arrived early before I can end and completely vacate the room and our guest felt like they were being pushed out. I was able to smooth it over but we initially planned for a smoother transition that really didn't work out as planned. Other than that everything was perfect and with the extraordinary pleasant service, I can't complain! Looking forward to hosting other events at this fabulous restaurant. Thank you! Thank You! Havana is setup very nice! High table cafeteria sitting in the middle of the restaurant had my name all over it. Order a few mojitos and margaritas that were exquisite. Best part of this endeavor for me was the appetizers, tostones were great, loved the sauce that came with it had a lil kick that was to die for. Ceviche of the day was halibut which was also another hit! And the plantain chips set the mood just right. So you're probably wondering why i gave a 3, well let's talk about these entrees, i got the ropa vieja. Now, i may be a lil biased because i went to school in Miami (FIU Panther in the establishment) so i know Cuban food. Ropa vieja is a WET dish, the juices and fat is supposed to drip off the meat. It's almost like a Birria, i didnt get that from this ropa, this one was cooked and kind of sticky together kind of threw me off. My confidant that i came with got the paella, now i must say brown rice in a paella isn't really my thing so it kind of wasn't what i expected. Nonetheless this place is worth it. We came here for date night on Thursday and everything was top notch. We sat in the corner booth at the bar and it was really cute with privacy. The bartender was our waitress and she had great recommendations as to drinks and food. We got the chicken skewers but we hadn't ordered it, I guess there was confusion when I asked about the vegetarian paella. She let us try it for free and they were so good! The grilled veggie on it (forgot the name) was even better than the chicken! The yucca chips, flat iron steak and paella were really good too. We tried so many mojitos, mango, watermelon, one other I can't remember, but the waitress' recommended ginger was (surprisingly) the best!
