I had high hopes for Hay Tea because it looked very nice from the outside, but it definitely didn't meet my expectations. 1.) I got the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea and it was sour. I don't know why it was sour, but I think the condensed milk was old or expired. It is supposed to be black tea with condensed milk, but it somehow turned out tasting like expired milk tea. 2.) I also got the Passion and Grapefruit Milk Tea which has great taste but was super sweet even though I order 50% sugar. It was definitely a good fruit tea but there was way too much sugar for 50%. Overall, I wish I had a better first impression for Hay Tea and hopefully they can check if their condensed milk is expired or not. read more

I've been to a lot of boba places, and this easily ranks #1. The tea is refreshing and consistent. (Been here at least 10 times) It never tastes like it's made from powder like other shops do. My boyfriend always gets the matcha tea latte and I always get the ube tea latte. Both are friggin' delicious. The staff is fast and courteous, so I really have nothing to complain about. There's a ShareTea, Quickly's and Happy Lemon that is less than 5 minutes from where we live, but we always make the 10-minute drive to Hay Tea because it's worth it! read more

Terrible customer service here. The cashier didn't know which drinks we wanted or if they had it 0/10. How do you work there and have drinks on the menu and not know what you're selling. Came here 2PM and it wasn't busy. They had 10 staff members, one I assume is the owner. Out of the 10 employees they had 1 employee making the drinks, while the others just talk and go pour tea to drink. How ridiculous! Me and my friend had to wait over 1 hour for a drink. The drinks all sucked, watered down and warm, the lady doing cashier so unprofessional on her phone and just leaving the drinks at the front so other customers got tired of her and literally just walked up there to get their own drinks. Never coming back to this place, it's garbage. please have some courtesy for the customers and help them get their drinks immediately especially when tickets start piling up and you just watch 1 staff member make drinks for 20+ people. For a newly boba joint this spot is a no go. I used to come here when it was Quickly. Now that it's a new boba joint my friend and I wanted to try it out. The lady that took our order didn't know the menu at all. I ordered the mango yakult and she needed to look at the menu again to make sure that's an item. Since it's their grand opening they have BOGO for the yakult and regular teas are 2$. After taking our order my friend and I went to sit down to wait. There was only a person making drinks and another person on her lunch break. The wait was extremely long. We waited an hour for our three drinks. By the time we got our drinks it was room temperature and not even cold. It was so hot inside out of the boba spot that the iced melted immediately. Everyone else that was before us was upset because their drinks took forever too. My mango was extremely sour with water chunks on the bottom. My friend said his drinks watered down and didn't have a good taste to it. I will not be coming back. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out as it was near my house. We arrived for their last day of soft opening around 3:30pm and didn't even start ordering our drinks under 4:30pm. The line wasn't even long at all. Maybe 10 people in front of us?! Layout: the layout of the boba shop is really bad. Once you enter through the main entrance, the cashier is on the left side of the place. After you order, you literally have to keep asking people to move for you to get out on the right side. The pick up counter is on the left side of the register next to the wall (which doesn't make sense because now people have to say "excuse me" again just to pick up their drinks. The big round table needs to move because doesn't flow well with the functionality of the place. Ordering the drinks: 1. As we were up to order, I noticed that the cashier was wearing gloves. She took money with the gloves, placed stickers on the cups (which was okay UNTIL she placed her gloved fingers INSIDE of the cup which touched money), and she was putting on drinking lids on each cup with the same gloves that touched the money. It is unsanitary and NOT okay to do that. 2. When I asked the lady with glasses behind the register what this drink was (pointed at the picture), she told me it was the mango yakult. But when I ordered it, it was not even the drink! I wanted the mango but with white stuff in it. I still don't know what it was :( 3. We ordered 3 drinks that were supposed to be: dragon milk tea, the mango and white swirl, and the strawberry and white swirl, but she fooled us. She did not know the menu whatsoever. We actually got the house milk tea with 2 different bobas (not good), and a mango yakult (sour), and strawberry yakult (sour). So she got all 3 of our drinks wrong. For a soft opening and a new business, I give this a 0/5 if I could. Honestly, the workers should be well versed on what the menu is. I didn't even ask for recommendations...I pointed to a picture and said that I wanted that exact drink, but didn't even get it. It's a huge disappointment and letdown. It's not worth it to come here. It looks like a very great place, and I like their decoration a lot. They just opened a few days ago, and I went there with my friends as they opened the second day. When we got there it was close to 9 pm and didn't have a long line, but most of the tables were taken. They serve Boba Tea, Fruit Tea, Snacks, Ramen, as well as Baked Rice, and so on. After I reviewed the menu, I decided to try the Popcorn Chicken and the Fruit Fusion Tea. We had two drinks and one snack, the waiting wasn't that long, I think it would be the same time as the other boba tea places. After we got our drink, I didn't have a very high expectation about the drink, but after I had it, I have to say, it was so great and very fresh!!! I really loved it. The quality of the drinks has improved significantly since soft opening. You can definitely tell that they use real fruits in the drinks and the fresh texture is not something that you find at every boba shop. My friend got the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea with boba and that's probably the best bang for your buck at less than $4. The chicken baked rice was also very good. This is a newly opened store. The soft opening was packed with people so we decided to go after the promotion days. We ordered 3 drinks. Fruit tea was super fresh and flavorful. It surprised me how much actual fruit they put in the cup. I was craving for cheese cream that day, so I tried matcha with cheese top which didn't disappoint me. I really like the drinks here, but the service was extremely slow today. There were two people working, one at the register taking orders for live customers and phone orders, all the while making drinks and one cook in the back. The employee doesn't appear to know what multitasking is, because she was only able to do one task at a time. Instead of taking orders and also making drinks in between she would stop everything she's doing to pick up the phone or take a live order before at least completing drinks in between orders. But disappointment when I ordered Classic milk tea boba and was told no boba as they run out need to wait 10 mins! I asked if there are almond or soy milk as sub for lactose intolerance people like me! Non available! She offered substitute " white boba" . It's totally different than the regular ones, and only this store has it. I also ordered popcorn chicken, it's also pretty good, I like to added some spices since I love spicy food. My son loves their tapioca milk tea, that's his favorite. We have been there three times already, each time we ordered something different, the tea with variety of fresh fruits are really yummy, we also tried the noodles, I was really surprised that the noodles tasted just like the one from Japanese restaurant, so yummy!!!
