He had just walked out of kitchen and he said I have to host too. Waited some more and when he finally came back with them dropped them in front of me not giving one to my wife. My wife and I stopped into Haymaker recently for an appetizer and drink on a Friday afternoon during happy hour. Great service and prices. My wife got a peach margarita and really enjoyed it. The waitress was nice enough to get her some slices of jalapeño or similar to add a little spice to it as she likes. We had already eaten and have had breakfast at Haymaker in the past. It is excellent and priced very reasonably. The drink was great and happy hour prices were very fair. We ordered fried pickles and they were very great. Happy hour so 6 of them for $5 is a great price. Hand breaded and great flavor. All in all it was a good atmosphere and great service and prices. We will be back. Likely for breakfast as they had some great looking options we haven't tried yet. read more

Decided to come here after so many people had recommended it & it did not disappoint! The dining area is rather small but it feels very cozy, definitely like you're eating in your grandparents house! It's also very patriotic and pays homage to our military which is very unique now-a-days. The service was great & the food really spoke for itself! I got the biscuits and gravy & MAN! Great food. Mediocre service. While I can understand why they have a no outside food or beverage policy, I think the way they communicate it is passive aggressive and turns away more people than they expect. What about people with food allergies or toddlers who still want to eat out? If it is something on their menu, I totally get it but there is no harm in bringing my own water or a drink I had while running errands as it's not taking away their business. read more

First time here and it was quite the experience. The Ambiance was amazing and after waiting for about 10/13 minutes, we were seated. The waitress did an amazing job serving us and was very kind. The food was amazing! Wife had the breakfast burrito and I had the French toast with blueberries and made it a griddle which adds two eggs sunny side up and two slices of bacon with a black coffee! What a delicious and decadent breakfast! The wait was long and the host forgot to add us to the list which made the wait about an hour. It was pretty busy-9:00 on a Sunday so anyone should expect it to be-but service was amazing (Marissa was great), food came out fast, and it was delicious. Husband got the chicken fried steak-huge portions so come hungry! I got the adult grilled cheese with sweet potato fries-yes they let you order either lunch or breakfast all day! Although Haymaker Peoria seemed promising, I can understand why many have complained about the slow service and lack of attention to the cleanliness of the restaurant itself. If you skim through my reviews, it's quite evident I prefer not to leave poor reviews. Unfortunately, this was the second time we've gone to Haymaker and had a sub-par experience. The waiter was quite rude, and the food took more than 25 minutes to be plated on our table. The restaurant was quite dirty and did not seen sanitary whatsoever. There was also no soap in the bathroom. The food itself? The Arizona Omelette was great. It was a nice blend of green chilies, avocado and salsa. The Brisket was well smoked. Juicy and shredded precisely. The sauce was delicious, but cold. The Pulled Pork, on the other hand, was dry. Very dry. read more

Our server was very attentive and likeable!! She however did upsell my 13-year-old a bit, which I was not expecting and, honestly, hasn't happened before. He was ALL ABOUT adding suggestions, not really thinking about ME paying for them! LOL!! He didn't even eat what he ordered extra! He already had a snack prior to going to breakfast! Honestly, it was kind of cute. I was like, "HUH??" What just happened here?? I brought home his leftovers, so no biggie! Just be prepared if you have teens! I don't think it would have happened off of the kid's menu. I think she was just trying to make him happy and I'm okay with happy!! He enjoyed his breakfast, and he wants to go back again!! We aren't familiar with the area and had a hard time finding it even with GPS. FYI: It's in the Aldi shopping center. I searched online for some place that served Chicken fried steak- my husband's favorite birthday meal & found Haystack. He had the chicken fried steak and eggs & I had the brisket skillet. Both were excellent. I'm not a big egg eater but this was fabulous! I ate 1/3 and brought 2/3 home! We also loved the wall decor. Got sat right away. Then got passed up by every employee in the place. Was told by a waiter "I'll be right with you, sorry about the wait." Waited another 5 minutes... called it quits. We got up and walked out, after 15-20 minutes of no one helping us. No one said a word to us as we walked out. It wasn't busy either, so no excuses. On top of that... time for new menus. We gave this location a second try, because our first attempt wasn't good. The waitress was nice, but not very attentive. Then the French dip meat was very tough and lukewarm when served. My go to restaurant for great food, service and atmosphere. I love the dimly lit, open seating area and detached bar space which has plenty of seating including wrap around bar and booths. It is a whiskey bar if that's your poison but I typically go for a glass of wine, mimosa or Bloody Mary. Their fabulous breakfast menu is served all day. I strongly suggest splurging on one of the Eggs Benedict's, my favorite is the Roasted Vegetable Benedict with fennel, tomatoes and spinach. All served w country potatoes or hash browns. I love to come here after work and have a Haymaker side salad which has crumbled feta & fresh toppings. read more

Not really worth the wait. Over crowded. Felt like a bar that had a breakfast. Service was great and fast once you get seated. Food was hot but not very flavorful. Cheese fries were the star of the show. I'd go back to try it again if I'm ever that way again to see if maybe it could be better. read more
