My two main food items for the new year are acai and kombucha. Healthy Creations sells both here. The acai bowl, is in my top two acais: the presentation is beautiful and there is a lot of granola and fruit. The dish is fresh with antioxidants and this will become a regular spot. The kombucha drink was terrific as well. This fermented drink is loaded with probiotics and is part of my "gut redemption"- consuming foods that aid in cleansing the body. I'm going to go backwards. . . I just had their chocolate chip cookie sandwich and I can't even tell that it's vegan/dairy free or what ever free. . .its was sooooo good. It was soft, tasted buttery (even though theres no butter) and not super sweet. For lunch we had the chicken pannini, curry chicken salad, and soup of the day. The soup of the day was . . eh. . .but the Pannini that everyone raves about is yummy and the curry chicken salad was good. I think it would be better suited as a wrap next time. Yes the prices are slightly higher than your normal cafe. . .but luckily I'm super rich. . . in my health that is. I'd rather spend an extra few bucks on organic foods and free-range meats that are healthy for you because you can't really buy your health back once its gone. The service was very courteous and friendly. My only other comment, that has nothing to do with the food, is that I wish it was located in a nicer strip mall. Would be nice to enjoy a nicer view outside than staring at El Camino Real and Big Lots across the street. read more

This cafe is the highlight of any trip to Encinitas. I drive out of my way for it, look forward to the Mint Chip smoothie and the breakfast sandwich when I am apart from them and thoroughly enjoy all of the interactions with staff and clientele alike. Love it! EVERYTHING is gluten free!! I got the california sandwich with turkey. It was delish and there was a good amount of the sundried tomato aioli on it. Make sure you like sun dried tomato if you order this sandwich. The service is a little bit slow, took about 10min for my sandwich to come out but I guess thats what you get when things are freshly made to order. I will definitely be back! It would be nice if the menu were more clearly marked as to which items were dairy free. Some things said whether or not they were vegan but it was sort of confusing. read more

I got chicken, and it was very delicious. I am sometimes wary of chicken from restaurants. Not only that but they had self serve bottled water! The Food Run Down: I do not need to eat gluten-free but I absolutely love their freshly made focaccia bread used to make their delicious paninis and sandwiches. My personal faves are the veggie mediteranean and the twisted reuben. They also have breakfast options, wraps, daily soups, bone broth, locally made kombucha on tap, wheat grass shots, a full bakery case, and a tasty cocao drink. For gluten-free folks, you can find a decent retail selection of grocery items to go. The Experience: This is an extremely casual establishment. You order and pay before you sit down. The seating is a mix of a few four tops, a bar in the window, and one big family style table in the middle. The decor is very homey and eclectic. It feels like you are in a neighbor's kitchen. The staff is typically very friendly and helpful. The other day I ordered a veggie mediterranean panini and the cashier rang me up for the chicken mediterranean by mistake. When I was served the gal at the counter had a line so I walked over to the kitchen and knocked. The cook in the kitchen, whom may have been the owner, apologized for the confusion and got to work on fixing the issue right away. Great service on top of amazing food. You can't beat it. This cafe is incredible! A place that actually lives up to it's name, Healthy Creations. The atmosphere is whatever and nothing fancy...however, you can tell they put all their energy into making great tasting, all organic and gluten free meals. I'm impressed their pastry soulection too I haven't had a vegan/paleo brownie as good as theirs ever. Also they make all their gluten free breads in house, vegan (egg free) and dairy free options. After my appointment with my holistic dentist nearby, the receptionist recommended this little gem. The decor is welcoming and calming, and the cashier Joelle was really sweet and very helpful with suggestions since this was my first time in! Joelle helped some elderly customers while I was eating and her patience and kindness while helping them made me smile BIG. :) The fact that everything is gluten free is WONDERFUL. I could order anything I wanted without worry or guilt! Almost any meal can be made vegan! I got the baked chicken strips with an organic local side salad. The chicken strips were crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside, and the salad was fresh and beautiful.... all for $8.50. And... alkaline water and WIFI are complimentary! This place was awesome! I got a chai and artichoke quiche. The chai was perfectly spicy and sweet (I usually find in other places that it's too much of one or the other). I was a little skeptical of the quiche before I ordered it because it was keto, and you know how that can affect taste and texture. But it was AMAZING!!!!! Flaky and delicious. We go here once a week and I enjoy the "build your own" sandwich on their gluten-free homemade focaccia and my boyfriend gets the tuna (either as a sandwich on panini or focaccia or as a salad) and they're always good. The artichoke quiche is also quite good and the raw lemon square has a bright, crisp flavor. The acai smoothie (with almond milk instead of soy) is strange and good--it has a very base taste, but that feels nice compared to acidic juice smoothies. It's also very filling. The service is slow, but that's because it's all made on the spot and they don't microwave anything, so just be patient.
