A perfect evening! We had a table of 7 reserved for us. (I am not sure how far in advance you need to make reservations, my cousin had this place reserved weeks in advance). This is a really nice, fancier place to eat in Breck and it is on the pricey side but totally worth it. It is not overly dressy though, it is Colorado after all! I just wore a sweater and jeans. Our waitress was nice and very knowledgeable and good at making recommendations. We started out with cocktails-my husband and I had their seasonal old fashioned and we were impressed. Our table split some appetizers. We ordered the bone marrow-it is not easy to find and we loved it! (It is like butter, you spread it on crostini. My cousin ordered the charred octopus and that was really good too! Some people had salads and they looked amazing. For my main entree I had the Harris ranch beef filet. It was amazing! Had a hazel dell mushroom burgundy deli, gruyere roasting potatoes, and garlic sautéed spinach. My husband was going to order something else but the server recommended he try the lamb to round out the orders on the table. (Someone else had elk, fish, etc-she thought it would be fun if people tried different things and she was correct!) The atmosphere was a bit dated, but charming. It is in an old house. We really enjoyed our meal and the whole experience. Not sure why we waited to come back (it has been about 10 years). We will definitely come back again sooner! read more

Absolutely Worth!!! What an experience! If you are traveling to, visiting, or even have the luxury of living in Breck then absolutely make sure Hearthstone is on your list to visit. Everything from the phenomenal view from the front porch, the ambiance, to the incredible staff, to the delicious food...it all was fantastic! Our group was very excited to be at Hearthstone and the friendliness of the staff only amped up our excitement. We ended up ordering sparkling wine, the pork belly gnocchi appetizer, and entrees for all. The Pork Belly gnocchi is to die for! It's the perfect size for an appetizer and the flavors are amazing together and separate! For my entree, I ordered the Blackberry Elk after the awesome waitress detailed where they get the elk and how they prepare the plate. And man! It did not disappoint!!! Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavors were popping like a fireworks show! Highly recommend! (And for those that fear things being too gamey-I assure this plate is not!) My husband ordered the pork chop and I quote "it was the best pork chop of his life," so I feel like that speaks for itself! Visited twice on a fall holiday in Breckenridge. Both times had the lamb because it truly was unreal. Colorado rack of Lamb served with berries and a wine demi glace sauce. Finger lickin' good! Blackberry Elk was a winner too! However, lamb was best! AVV wine was a great recommendation and paired nicely with the lamb. Overall, Hearthstone is the nicest restaurant in Breck and one I highly recommend for your dining needs. PS: had a Manhattan at the bar. was prepared nicely while our table was ready. read more

We had a superb meal at Hearthstone. We arrived for our res and were seated immediately upstairs. The area was super cool, had like an old 1800s mining hotel feel to it, which is fitting for the area. The servers were very attentive. We ordered some cocktails which were very well made, followed by wine. For apps we shared various things. We started with the salmon latke, buratta panzanella, lobster ravioli, and apple kale salad. The apple kale salad was our second fav after the latke, which was seriously out of this world delicious. The latke was probably everyones single favorite bite of the night. I could go back and just eat 5 of those for dinner. For mains we got the salmon, the bass, the Colorado lamb, blueberry elk, and short rib. The fish dishes were both good but the meat dishes were the star. The short rib was well cooked. Super tender. The elk was beautiful, lightly breaded racks with a great sauce, and the truffle goat cheese pirogue that came with the elk was probably our second fav bite of the night. But the Colorado lamb was the star of the meat show. It was cooked to perfection and the flavor was superb. We were too full for desert but ordered espresso martinis which were also top notch. The location of this restaurant is absolutely stunning. You have a lovely view of the mountains. You can call in and make a reservation. It was super easy and they had a beautiful table ready for us when we got there. The waiter was friendly. They do have some gluten free and vegetarian options. I had the zuchinni squash dish prepared gluten free and the spring salad of some sort. Not remembering the name. I shared it with my friend. The portions on the salads are pretty small. Especially if you are used to eating salads for meals. It was a very small plate, but it was quite delicious. The butternut pad thai was also amazingly scrumptious. The reason for the 4 star is the prices are really well quite expensive. The pad thai was $32 and the salad was $16. So pretty expensive. We did share, but I could have eaten the entire salad myself. The pad thai i could have probably eaten the entire serving by myself as well. It was very very good though! If you have the budget for it though, the food and atmosphere was fantastic though. read more

I NEVER write reviews but this place is a gem! I got the elk and quite literally will be renting a car next time I am in Denver for work and driving west to eat this again. it's that good. I told my husband that we have to plan a vacation around the Hearthstone and the delicious elk! The ambiance was good. Can't comment too much on the service as I started experiencing altitude sickness but I imagine if I stayed it would have been great service as well. 10/10 read more

Came here for dinner for a date night while we're on our baby moon and it was delightful! Definitely make a reservation, they were fully fully booked and full by 8:30. The staff are all super friendly and professional. The service was just incredible. We had a girl named Allie as ours, and she was so sweet. Very knowledgeable as well on bourbons for my fiancé! He loved his bourbon flight a lot. I got their in house made lemonade and it was super good. We got the elk, the lamb, the lobster ravioli, the burrata panzanella and the beet carpaccio. We were visiting Keystone this summer and Yelp led us to Hearthstone for our allotted fancy no-kids meal. It could not have been better. The food kept disappearing before I could get pictures, but we started with the charred octopus and a burrata cheese appetizer. Highly recommend both, though the cheese was a special. The octopus was grilled to perfection, with a lot of char, and not at all chewy. The burrata was great as part of a caprese style dish, with delicious heirloom tomatoes. But the stars were the entrees. I had blackberry elk, which was local and amazing, perfectly medium rare and served with huge gnocchi and a berry sauce that paired very well. I also tried the bison short rib, which was a warm, delectable dish with very good cheese grits as a side. Our party also had the Colorado lamb and local filet dishes, which they both loved. Apparently the lamb dish changes daily, and I know if I lived nearby I would be coming here way too often to see what they make. The one I did manage to snag a(n albeit dark) picture of was the Elvis, which is a banana bread dessert with berries, peanut butter sauce, bacon and more. It was perfect. Just like the rest of the meal, the portion was generous but not overwhelming and it was rich but not too filling. The venue here is also quite awesome, a beautiful old mansion with multiple floors of dining, great views, and a lot of cool outdoor dining options. Highly, highly recommended if you're in the area and can drop a little extra on a meal. read more

We enjoyed the special appetizer of heirloom tomatoes burrata and aged balsamic vinegar. For entrees we had their special Colorado Lamb rack (actually served as two very large double lamb chops) and their Organic Norwegian Salmon. Can nottttt recommend this place enough!!! Visited when we were visiting Breck. Had seen a bunch of different articles recommending and upon first glance of the menu, was super intrigued. We got the appetizer gnocchi with pork belly and it was a super unique combination I haven't ever tried, but they absolutely nailed it. For entrees, we got the elk and lamb special. Both were cooked to perfection with enough flavors to compliment the dish, but not overwhelming you couldn't enjoy the freshness of the meat. Staff was so friendly, vibes were cozy and cute. We had been to a not so nice establishment with two small children the previous day at Frisco for lunch & weren't as welcomed as we were here. Hearthstone just wasn't my vibe. I found the cocktails to be executed poorly. The happy hour drinks are higher priced on average than other restaurants around Breck. I also thought the dinner menu was a bit pricey for the food I saw come out. Glad I only did light happy hour apps and s drink there. read more

It was great walking in and seeing Katie Tiffany she's worked there a long time, she loves her job and she always greets us with a smile on her face. We were seated upstairs and a small romantic table by the window. It was really hard to make a decision because they have amazing choices to choose from. We started off with the crispy lobster that was probably one of the most incredible things that I've eaten, it was cooked perfectly. We Went on to the artisan cheese plate, delicious. My husband ordered the Colorado lamb and it was also cooked to perfection, medium rare is the only way to eat and Iamb. I ordered the butcher cut steak with a bourbon demi-glaze, beehive whiskey cheddar twice baked potato medallions and pancetta maple glazed Brussels sprouts. Like that wasn't enough to have all this delicious food on my plate I ended up stealing my husbands asparagus. Cody brought the perfect bottle of wine for our table. You can never go wrong with Nickel & Nickel, C.C. Ranch 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. It was wonderful and good to the last drop. I WOULD highly recommend giving this place a try. Had an amazing date night that started with happy hour from 4 to 6. Their drink options are so worth it especially for happy hour. Dinner was delicious. I had the baked scallops with mushrooms and My Husband had the Bison ribs. We would go back for another fancy night out in no time. The chef was wonderful. Phenomenal!! Probably the best restaurant in Breckenridge! Everything we had was superb. From the bread with salted butter to the octopus to the autumn squash salad. Octopus was super tender and the squash salad has some rosemary that was a nice surprise that shined through. For the entree we split the Scallop dish and I cannot say enough good things about it. There was a wonderful coconut flavor in the rice and an nice ginger flavor that was the star of the dish. We came here for a friend's birthday and it had a super cute ambiance situated in a historic building. We had a reservation and was seated within a few minutes. The server assigned to our table gave us recommendations without us asking and had a very good knowledge about the menu. We ordered three appetizers and four entrees and two desserts at the end to share between 5 people and it was a good amount of food! The meats were cooked really well there, all were tender and delicious. My favorite was the salmon latke and the beef cubes for the appetizers. And gnocchi with the steak for entree was my favorite. It wasn't the steak that blew my mind, it was the soft pillowy gnocchi. The bison's demi glaze and grits was also done really well. Everything there was so good and the service was amazing! Hearthstone is a cute restaurant near the arts district of Breckenridge. It was a nice atmosphere, and the service was impeccable. We love a good lamb chop, and Hearthstone really brought their A game with it. The only thing that threw us off was the 3 seafood dish. Even though the fish itself was incredible, it was much spicier than we expected, and the rice was very dry. Christmas Eve dinner in Breckenridge? I had to make sure it was a hit. I'm so glad I chose Hearthstone. Immediately at the entrance we were amazed by the gorgeous Victorian house the restaurant is set in. We heard the elk was their star, and it surely was. None of us had ever had elk and now we might be spoiled. It had a perfectly crispy edge with melt in your mouth meat. Paired with the blackberry sauce and it's heaven. Others in the party had the Colorado lamb, scallops, and steak. All were good, but I highly recommend the elk over all. I'm thankful that the staff worked so hard on Christmas Eve away from their loved ones, it takes a strong staff to be able to fully operate a fully booked out fine establishment.
