We went here for dinner, and everything was fantastic! Superb steaks with amazingly delicious truffle fries, and a delicious tuna tartare appetizer. The service is super friendly and efficient. Anthony and Jason were welcoming from my late lunch entry - at first I frowned as my beverage was in plastic - (necessary outside:) - I can tell you this was THE Best Manhattan I've ever had - I order this in honor/memory of my Dad, I make them and friends/mixologists make them for me... What a wonderful outdoor restaurant! We went for dinner with some friends. The food was so delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere and view of the ocean was just perfect! My only minor complaint is that they don't offer a non seafood appetizer. My husband has a shellfish allergy so he couldn't enjoy any of the apps with the rest of us. read more

I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars. I'm being generous. It is a lovely location on the beach. The we had six adults a baby and a toddler. We had an early reservation, so there really is no excuse for the really slow service. We had four lobster dinners. The lobsters were smaller than expected and a 1/4 of the tails were cut off. They must cut off the tails to make their lobster topping for their filets. I did not appreciate a good inch and a half of tail meat missing, since the meat in the claws was so little. (This happens when the lobsters have not had time to grow into the new claw.) Very poor value at $63 dollars a meal. I was also charge $4 and S4.50 for kids lemonade and apple juice, which was supposed to be included in the meal. They were already of the mac and cheese for my granddaughter's favorite- pretty poor for so early in the evening. We ordered the chocolate cake for her and asked for ice cream, instead of cream. We were charged $7.50 extra for the ice cream, which came out like soup with a lump in it. Her fries were all eaten by the adults because our meals took so long to come out. The tip was automatic $100 (20%) because of the size of the group. I rounded up another $10 because the waitress was sweet. The total was $650. Definitely, NOT worth that. My husbands haddock was good. They took so long that the kids needed to go to bed. There was not time to address the extra charges on the bill. I recommend anybody dining there, to double check their bill. I tried to call the restaurant and left a message to give them feedback, but received no call back. They need to do better!!! read more

The best part of this meal was our server Jonathan. The kitchen was exceedingly slow--we waited over an hour for our meals. The worst 72 $ every spent !!! Where do I began 1-there is no signage to get to the restaurant 2-front desk couldn't give us directions to mention 3-a guest of the hotel had to show us how to get there 4-the one reason we went was for the fish sandwich which wasn't on the menu any longer 5-though the waitress asked to have it done anyways it was about .25oz of fish in my sandwich 6-waitress never brought us napkins 7- never brought water after asking what I wanted 8- waitress gave only an explanation as that well it wasn't original on the menu so basically I should be grateful that I was able to eat any oh and that it's supposed to b only 2 oz n they used the filet from the tacos which is 6 oz so we got more, however the chef gave my partner the majority n I got the very thin tail of it. 9- left very in happy and wouldn't recommend this for anything but a drink 10- my bad I should of know it's a hotel !!! Having been a longtime loyal patron of Cobalt I was excited to try Heaton's and am sorry to say it was a huge disappointment. While the setting was lovely, the food and rude waitress were inexcusable. Came here on a Wednesday at about 5:30. There were 3 or 4 other tables, 2 waitresses. Appetizers and cocktails were fine, nothing to write about. For dinner we each had fish, 2 of us snapper that was extremely over cooked and flavorless (better fish at any local dive for half the price), and one "crab crusted" grouper that was fish with a crab cake thrown on top. Sides were flavorless. We would've liked to order a glass of wine to have with dinner but the waitress ignored us until we were ready for the check. She leisurely strolled between the empty tables, poured ice water in already full glasses at other tables and avoided eye contact with us. We asked the very young and sweet bus girl to see the wine list and she seemed surprised and said "Has your waitress not been back?" We said no and asked her send her over when she could. By the time she moseyed over, we were nearly done with almost inedible meals and wanted to get of there. Will not be back and not back to Cobalt for a long while. read more

I very rarely rate anything. Been here for about an hour. Took 20+ minutes for a drink. Still haven't received our apps or lunch. The young waiter is pleasant but clearly overwhelmed and it isn't that busy. One star is too much but I guess it deserves it for the oceanfront scenery. I have never written a review of anything but I find that 3 days after our trip there the terrible experience is still sticking with me. I went there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with two friends. We went primarily to see the entertainment that day. I will start with the only good thing. The view is gorgeous. That's it. Downhill from there. Starting with the drinks. One ordered a margarita on the rocks, another ordered a margarita up. The one that was up came in a mini glass with maybe two swallows in it. When we inquired the waiter told us that you don't get as much when it's without the rocks. Ok? So silly us we ordered a second round and there was a little bit more in the glass. When we got the check we asked why there were 2 margaritas at $16 and 2 at $14. We were told that the one without rocks is more. So they compensate by giving you less in the glass and then charge you more. I had a vodka tonic (nothing fancy) and it was more ice than anything and it was $12. And just to add while the server was pleasant the service was extremely slow. We ordered the crab and artichoke appetizer. It consisted of artichokes, cheese, no crab at all but it did have spinach and bacon which was not in the description. This I believe was $17. We did mention that there was absolutely no crab but was told that there was. I challenge you to find it or taste it. Then two of us ordered the burger. The waiter did not ask how we wanted them prepared but I made sure to tell him medium well. It came out medium rare. I ate around the middle of it. The other burger was ordered with truffle fries (for an upcharge of $3. When the food runner brought them out we asked which had the truffle fries. She actually pulled her hair back and sniffed our fries. I found that a bit disturbing. I believe the burgers were $16. Comparable to others on the beach in price but lacking in comparable quality. Our other friend ordered the quesadilla with a side of guacamole. It was a "small upcharge" of $2. The guacamole was served in a 2 oz soufflé cup which was half full. $2 for 1 oz of guacamole. The quesadilla itself was small in comparison to other places. All in all we ended up spending, with tip, $200 for three people to have a Sunday lunch. I recommend if you want to go there for the scenery or the entertainment, eat and drink somewhere else before or after. read more

We stayed at Kimpton which is where this outside bar/pool is located. The views are breathtaking and the happy hour appetizers were tasty. Service was okay as they were fully booked for Memorial Day, and that was fine, but the drinks were severely under poured. That is saying a lot from someone who doesn't like strong drinks. read more

In a previous review I mentioned that we like to happy hour at Cobalt on occasion. We do, but then we walked outside and found this place. I like it out here, more casual atmosphere, and a pretty awesome menu. Very good food that was reasonably priced considering it was a resort. My husband and I both got the grilled hamburger which was perfectly cooked (medium) and juicy, but not too greasy. We used our YELP offer for a free order of truffle fries which were GREAT. Delicious! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars as they were breaking down the outside tables in prep for their NYE party, but they still took our order and serviced us with respect.
