My boyfriend and I were here last weekend for the 90-minute massage groupon deal. We originally tried to book a weekend appointment with just one day's notice, but they were all booked up. But when we planned a few days in advance, we had no problem getting in at the same time. It seems they are staffed enough to handle the constant groupon deals, which is nice. The lobby area is very nice, and the woman at the front desk was friendly. She even gave us the choice between separate rooms or a couple's room (we chose the former). She calls the therapists in on her walkie-talkie which takes away from the soothing spa experience a little, but I didn't care. As for the massages, mine was decent, but not the best I ever had. My boyfriend really liked his though. So I'd still go back, especially given the rave reviews here of other therapists. read more

Good massage, good mani-pedi, and they can always get me in last minute! The thing that is keeping me from giving more than 3 stars and having me consider a new salon is the staff. Every time I am there they are arguing infront of the customers. They are so rude to eachother and as a customer it is very uncomfortable. They were able to get us in for a same day appointment, and we were able to use their online coupon for new clients - $60/person for a 60 minute deep-tissue or Swedish massage. The room was warm and clean (actually the whole place is very clean and inviting), there was soft music playing, the masseuses we had - Lynn and Michelle - were polite and nice and did a WONDERFUL job. They were very thorough, making sure to focus on every area equally. They made sure to ask us beforehand for any requests of areas to work on, etc. After the massage, you can use their steam/rain water shower, which is included with the massage. This was perhaps the best massage I've ever had. My girlfriend and I got 2 Groupon deals for 90 minute massages for $60 each, PLUS $10 off. I was leery at first because I wasn't able to get through to anyone for about a day and a half to make a reservation. When I was finally able to get through, I asked about combining the coupons for a couples massage, and even though I was assured this would be okay, I was suspicious it hadn't been put on the books that way. The day of, I received a call asking if they could reschedule from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and they had no record of my request to make it a couples massage. Needless to say, I was less than impressed. When we arrived, we were taken in about 5 minutes early (always a good sign) and laid on our respective tables. The room was comfortable, quiet as can be on the Gold Coast, and relaxing. Our masseuses were AMAZING! I carry 35-40 lbs of weight on me all day at work, and my back has been sore for weeks. This did the trick and I felt awesome afterward. My girlfriend even said it was the best massage she'd ever had, and the price was obviously right. I cannot recommend this highly enough, especially if you get the Groupon! Got a 90 min couples massage using 2 individual groupons (which I thought was really nice of them to do). The space was very clean and nicely decorated. The 2 massage therapists came out to greet us right when we arrived at our scheduled time. They were very nice and when it came down to it the massage was AMAZING perfect amount of pressure! It was very relaxing and I never had to say 1 word to the therapist because she did everything perfectly! The only improvement I would give Heavenly Massage is to change up the type of music playing (cd skipped a little during massage, very repetitive music). You could also very easily here doors opening down the hall (not that big of a deal). They offer you an amazing steam shower afterwords that in itself is almost as good as the massage. The people are very friendly and curtious to you the entire time, and being a younger person I greatly appreciated being treated like an adult. This afternoon I went to heavenly spa and nails and for my first actual massage that wasn't from someone in the mall I was blown away happy. The service was quick and efficient but I also called ahead for the 50 minute massage like anyone should. Price range was fair $60 for all the services. As well as this Karren took great care to make sure that everything was to my liking, but the massage was more than just to my liking because I came away from the business refreshed more than ever! I have been to Heavenly Massage twice now. Once previously for a massage only on a Groupon and was impressed and again yesterday for a spa day with my husband. As a Physical Therapist, I am a little particular about my massages and if this review focused on solely that, it would be 5 stars (and what encouraged me to return for the spa day packages yesterday). However, yesterday I was disappointed that even though I paid full price, vs groupon discount, for a full spa day package, I was not offered to use the steam shower. My husband was, and I did on my first visit, so I can only assume it was in the interest of time as I had my massage first and had other services waiting. I mentioned my disappointment during my final service when the manicurist asked about the steam shower, but was only offered a "oh" in response. The massage therapist did offer me wet towels to remove some of the excess oil but I still felt like a greased pig all through our leisurely lunch following and couldn't wait to get home and take a shower (negating some of the relaxation I paid so much for in the first place). If it were that alone, I wouldn't have docked 2 stars but today I also have a raw spot on my chin where the facialist attempted very diligently to extract a persistent blemish (that is still there, not for lack of effort). Where it was barely noticeable yesterday, it looks like I fell and scraped my chin today-so much so, my husband asked me what I did and prompting my review. My mani/pedi was enjoyable and turned out great. My husband enjoyed his gentleman's spa day without complaint and the staff was great at accommodating his request for a pedi vs mani for a reasonable upcharge. Overall, the spa packages are well priced, the staff is friendly and approachable. The massage therapists, both yesterday's visit and previously, were knowledgable and professional and I would, and have, recommended a massage from Heavenly Massage to friends- but definitely ask for the steam shower! As for the facial, I enjoyed the process but in the future will be sure to let the esthetician know to keep the extractions gentle or go for a package without the facial. We went on a Wednesday (6/22/16) and by Friday, my wedding day, my "no chip" manicure chipped. By Sunday, the day we're leaving for our honeymoon, three more nails had chipped. She is clueless and rolled her eyes at me when she argued that no one has broken out from their products. The only person that was somewhat professional was Monica. My friend and I had massage appointments on Sunday. We were running late, and the staff was very accommodating in delaying our appointments by 1/2 an hour. The interior is very soothing and inviting. The front staff was very courteous and friendly. My masseuse, Kathryn was *amazing*. Very knowledgeable and helped with some lower back issues I'd been having. She explained everything to me in great detail and could pinpoint the back muscles that were bothering me. So thorough, I honestly felt like I was getting a massage from a physical therapist! She even showed me some stretches at the end to keep myself limber. And after all that, an awesome steam shower! The prices there are great, and I really loved my service. I highly recommend Kathryn! (My friend didn't have as fabulous an experience, unfortunately. :() Will go back to her in a heartbeat! Pros: Great price, great massage, awesome shower. Just came back from my massage with Kasia (M-T-W) and had a 50 min Swedish massage. I went over my areas of special attention and what I needed and let her go and about 50 minutes later I woke up feeling like a new person! I'm jealous I didn't get a groupon for this place but I was just visiting Chicago and it was only a few blocks from my hotel (The Public). The front desk lady didn't seem like the friendliest of people and she was probably the same person who I booked my reservation with (4 hours earlier) so I knew I wasn't going in for one of those deluxe spa treatment places. I was pleasantly surprised with how awesome my masseuse was.. pretty sure I woke myself up snoring! That part of it was great. MUST READ!!! My massage left me bed ridden for two days. And discomfort for over a week. (This is not an exaggeration) Recently my girlfriend and I received a couples massage. Although this location appeared nice and professional. My masseuse insisted on working the same muscle on my back for over 25mins of a full body massage. I had to insist that she finally move on already. The next day I was unable to turn my head to the right and unable to stand up. After two days of my inability to move without experiencing a great deal of pain, I visited a chiropractor that confirmed the significant strain and bruising. Note that I am a 200lb grown man that is in decent shape and routinely get massages. I tried to do the polite thing by bringing this to the attention of this location and not having to write this review. I explained that I am not looking for a refund or free massage, but to just make them aware. The lady with the accent that I had spoken with was very pompous. Would not let me explain what happened without cutting me off three different times with comments like, "It happens" Yes, that was her exact words! My call was to inform them of the incident and to see if the masseuse recalls anything that went wrong. I was told that someone would get back to me. Of course no one did. So at the end of the day, instead of paying $50 for a massage to help me relax. It cost me roughly $200 and two days of missed work to feel pain for a full week. There are plenty of spas to get massages in this city. Take my advise and stay away from this one! read more

Beware of trying to book with Groupon....very nice massages, but very hard to book with Groupon. There appears to be a limited amount of slots available with the vouchers, while appointments are available without Groupon. This has become very frustrating, as I just called once again to be told that I could go to another location or wait for one week to use the voucher on State Street. I am now sitting on several vouchers that have I have never been able to use due to the long lead time of booking an appointment. I have however continued to have massages there and paid full price, as they are almost always available.....I guess I will only be able to use the actual paid amount once they expire.....not the way Groupon is intended to be used. read more

I have been here a couple of times for massages. My most recent massage was horrible. Like everyone, I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and back and I requested that the massage focus on these areas. My masseuse did not find many of my knots--which I know are there because they are always there and everyone finds them. When he did find a knot he attacked it with great force. He did not use enough oil so it was very dry and pinched me when he did attack the knots. When he was not hurting me he was resting his hands on my back with little to no pressure which felt awkward and like a waste of time. My arms were left hanging off the sides of the table for a long time, and my feet were uncovered and cold for most of the time. He did not ask how it was, didn't offer me water after and left the building before I had even paid. His technique was different from every massage I have ever gotten and was asymmetrical. I went to Heavenly Massage a few days ago because I had received a $25 mani/pedi coupon in the mail. My nail technician did a good job and I'm happy with my nails and toes. However, I don't think it should take TWO hours to do a manicure and pedicure. I then returned today to take advantage of the 1/2 off European facial coupon. I had an appointment at 11AM but when I arrived, the front desk told me I didn't have an appointment. I was so irritated, especially because it's my birthday weekend! They asked if I could come back at 3:30PM and they would give me an upgraded facial or a free manicure. If you read the first part of my review, I definitely did not need another manicure within two days of my last one, so I asked for a bikini wax or something else instead. It was like pulling teeth trying to get something else. They were very short with me and made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. They did agree though so I guess that's good. I asked for a note or something to prove that the wax will be free of charge and this was also apparently a very difficult request on my part because the staff member was reluctant to give me one. Nevertheless, I returned at 3:30PM for my facial. Nobody offered to take my coat like they did the first day I was there for my mani/pedi. Then two women walked in after me. They had massage appointments and had just come in from shopping. The front desk asked to take their coats AND their shopping bags. Wow. Thanks a lot, front desk. Anyway, Inga did an awesome job with the facial! I was very pleased with that service. I booked my bikini wax for next week so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully the front desk is more courteous when I return for a THIRD time. I absolutely LOVE this place. I came in for a mani pedi with Ira, who did a fantastic job cleaning, shaping and polishing my nails. I am super picky and annoying when it comes to "new" people doing my nails, but she did a phenomenal job! After that, I got a one hour facial with Ivana who made this experience so relaxing, I fell asleep a few times. She gave me a nice massage while my face was steaming and was thorough with extractions, not missing a thing! A few days later, my face is feeling and looking great, no post break outs like I've experienced at other places. I was able to make this appointment on the same day and the service and attention to detail will have me coming back for more. Also, as a first timer, I got $10 off my facial and only paid $30 for a mani/pedi. What a great deal! First of , I have had many messages and know the difference between good and bad. I always request deep tissue and have never felt the pain I did after yesterdays message. I was messaged by Carmita, who was very nice, but worn a glove on one hand which was very uncomfortable and felt scratchy and was very loud the whole time. She dug her knuckles and elbows into my spine several times. I have knots in my back today. She pinched my skin on the bed (not bruised) when rubbing me and was just all over the place. She was very inconsistent(did not rub right foot at all) and instead of deep tissue, she was just pressing into bone area. She also just rubbed her hands through my hair, instead of actually messaging my head. I could not wait for it to end. I explained this to the manager who questioned my understanding of deep tissue, stating she is requested by many others. She told me she would call me later to resolve this and I still haven't heard from her. Not very professional. Will not be going back. read more

Impulse bought a Groupon & they were able to take me the same day I called (on a Saturday). I get massages several times a year, and in times of stress about monthly. Tisa gave me one of the best massages of my life! Her hands are strong and gentle and she is very intuitive and can ferret out pockets of stress or trigger points. Unlike a lot of massage therapists, she listened to what I said in our discussion before the massage, and she gave me a full body but focused on the areas I mentioned. She even gave me a few recommendations for things I can do to ward off my frequent headaches. I will be back to Heavenly Massage especially for her! read more

Had an absolutely "heavenly" massage from Tiara yesterday. It was a 90 minute massage, and she used the extra time to work through not only the knots in my back, but also my sore feet, legs, arms, etc. She had just the right touch in terms of mostly relaxing, but also getting into the knots in my back more assertively. I went to Heavenly Massage this weekend for a massage and mani/pedi. They have a lot of promotions going on, so there was about 15 women in our party for a Mother's Day Treat. We were able to bring in food and beverages to make a day of it. That was nice however, the massage was alright, I was not thrilled because the massage therapist talked a little more than I would prefer during a masage. I am very picky with my manicures and pedicures. The tech did a decent job, but my nail polish has already began to chip. The facility is newer and clean plus their staff is very friendly. Typically when I leave Heavenly Massage I feel calm and relaxed, today I left bruised and confused. My masseuse seemed very nice and friendly but definitely needs to have more training... i am not sure if she ever received any in the first place. Most of the time she was not even working the proper muscles. While most masseuses have there own style it usually follows the same flow of kneeding and light rubbing. This woman's style was push and pat. Most of the time she worked on my back which consisted of pushing my muscles around ( the feeling of someone pushing you to move over) and pinching (grabbing sections of my fat/muscle). Then at the end she patted my back fairly sternly on my lower and upper back. She also did this to my legs and arms. I am not sure how that helps me relax. Another unique technique was that he bent my leg towards my chest to stretch but on the way back she pressed below my knee as if to push it backward..:/ Lastly, while I am an odd person, I like everything done evenly. Not today apparently! She would do one move on one part of my body and not the other!! Literally cringeworthy in my opinion- i walked out feeling so unbalanced. Massage was good, but the room was ice cold, decreasing the relaxing environment. Also the email specials are great deals. On Saturday I had an appointment to get my hair cut and colored by Ina and I am thrilled that I finally found someone that can go great hair. I was traveling back to Milwaukee where I lived for years because I could not find a good stylist. I tried some of the large aveda salons (Asha) and had TERRIABLE experiences. I am SO happy with my cut and color..Ina is AMAZING and she is so nice!! She listens to what the clients thoughts are and then gives hers ideas and EXPLAINS everything . The color was 100 times better than i have EVER had at Aveda. She has a nice space.. neat and clean... and a nice view. i have recieved many compliments oon my hair after I had it and I will be a life long client. I hope that others take advantage of a great artist and give Ina a chance. The prices are very reasonable and she ovvers a wide variety ofservices. I already have my next appointment booked and also an appointment for a "blow out " for a black tie formal. You are missing a great experience if you do not give her a try. She know so much about the industry and new product and loves to talk about them. I know i have found someone that I can trust with my hair!! this is a one stop shop for great massages and great hair .. I have never done a mani pedi YET but i am sure I will.
