If you see the Hefty Gyros' fire engine red food truck about town, check them out. They serve up hefty hefty hefty portions of Mediterranean food. The menu consist of gyros, falafel, chicken, pita, hummus, salads, and fries. Did I mention the portion sizes are hefty?! They literally pile on the food. I ordered a chicken plate. Whoa. In one container they literally piled it on... rice, chicken, salad, fries, and pita with hummus spread already on it. Plus they are heavy handed with the white sauce. Sure the portions were huge. But my food was assembled like a Dagwood sandwich minus the bread, in layers. Saucy dressed layers. Not how I like to eat a non sandwich meal. But great for a gyro. The flavors were terrific though. Moist grilled chicken slices. Fries were hot n crispy for a hot minute, same with the cool crisp salad before the blend of layers of taste crept in which didn't take long. My salad got lost in the layers and I couldn't distinguish that stand alone flavor. read more

They advertise prices incorrectly on the truck. The menu said $3 water and $7 lemonade. In actuality it was $4 water and $8 lemonade. I pointed this out, they didn't bother changing the advertised price which was as simple as erasing the white board marker and rewriting. They did not honor their advertised prices. Dishonest, scammy, don't like it. read more

Gyros are one of the foods that I really love, but rarely get to order. We stopped by a group of food trucks and as soon as I spotted Hefty Gyros I knew what I wanted. We did stop towards the end of the night, so I'll have to try them again to see if the next experience is better. I ordered the Gyro Meal Deal with Baklava and a water ($17). It was ready pretty quickly and we took it home along with food from another truck my husband stopped at. The meal was wrapped nicely and it was still hot when we got home. I thought it was unique that Hefty Gyros doesn't use tomatoes and has banana pepper rings on their gyros. I also noticed in the photos that they had red onion, but I didn't notice it on my gyro. I did like the hot sauce they added to the gyro though, it added a bit of extra flavor and was really good. The baklava was delicious and I would definitely order it again. I would try Hefty Gyros again and maybe order something different the next time to explore their menu. read more

I absolutely loved the loaded fries, each and everything in the loaded fries had its own taste, and each bite was so flavorful. I usually do not like fries/food from outside because they are overdone with salt but these were perfect and I cannot wait to eat them again. I highly recommend you try the loaded fries already. It came with a few more pieces of that tender pita bread. I ended up with about half of my dip trio, and half of my main course. Enough to take Home for another full meal. Luckily, I can get delicious, authentic Qabali here for just $16‼ It even comes with a big lamb chop and Chapati naan on the side. Totally worth it! Also, everyone here (both staff and customers) is warm and friendly. When we didn't know how to pronounce some of the menu items at first, they kindly helped us out! :)

Once I entered, I could see why there were so many people trickling in, they had so many drinks I wanted to try! But I went with the banana matcha and vietnamese egg coffee. Both were delicious. I'm not in Sac much but if I were to come by this way more often, this would definitely be a place I'd pop into each time as part of the itinerary. Ambiance isn't anything crazy, its definitely spacious and a cool place to link up with friends or even do some work on your laptop. The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.

The food was the star of the show. Bone Marrow is one of those dishes you don't expect to be quite so rich, but it is amazing and worth the visit for. The fish was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms on the steak were delightful and earthy, as well as the steak being a tender, juicy medium rare. I will say the lobster paella was a little disappointing, I expected a little bit more from a nearly $100 dish. Not that it wasn't delicious, but it did not stand out nearly as much as the other dishes ordered. The tartar was a solid app, the oysters were delectable, the bread was toasty and hot with a generous side portion of creamy butter. By my book, service, ambiance, and FLAVOR, Ella is worth the visit.

This dish was perfect. The tomahawk was good, but not the best I've had. It contained a good amount of fat, which I had to trim off myself. I did enjoy the tenderness of the tomahawk. We will dine in again for another date night occasion.

Had the opportunity of visiting Wushiland again recently. I ended up ordering the same drink I did…read morethe first time I was here, and it was the Jasmine/Green Milk Tea. I adjusted the sweetness to 30% and added boba. Like the first time, the drink was really good. The boba had the perfect balance of softness and chewiness. I really liked the texture. 30% sweetness was also perfect for me. My friend got the same drink but with an extra shot of tea. I didn't realize that was an option, but I love that it is.

Wushiland has some pretty good milk tea and fruit tea drinks. And you can get an extra shot of tea if you want your drank strong. Prices range from $5.25-$7. I've tried the roasted oolong milk tea and the grapefruit green tea and they've been on point. I usually get them both at 50% sweetness. Another thing they offer here that some other shops don't have are the mini boba balls. My friend ordered the uji matcha latte macchiato with the mini balls, and he wanted another one to-go! The shop is a tad small and cozy(ish) since the seats and tables are close together. The theme is very colors of a bee; black and yellow. There's a long bench with cushions so it's a good place to sip and chill, and people come here to study it seems. Ive been here a few times mainly on a Saturday and all 3x it's been busy. They have 2 kiosks you can order from, or you can order from a human. Wushiland choose a good area of Sac to post up shop because it's the currently the only boba drink shop (for now) near Hollywood Park/Land Park and very close to Sac City College. They're located in the corner of a strip mall type plaza. And parking isn't too bad. Overall, good drinks for a reasonable price and service is decent. They have a fun logo, too. I would definitely come back here to try more of their drinks!
