Great spot with good vibes for good food and good beer! The food is always solid so you can't go wrong with ordering anything. My personal favorites are the chicken quesadilla nachos, and the burgers. Please do not discontinue the Raspberry Pick'n sour!! It's probably my favorite fruited sour of all time!! Went on Mothers Day for Sunday brunch since I'd read on Axios "One of the best Sunday brunches in Charlotte" and have wanted to come for several months. What a disappointment! We arrived at 1 pm (brunch closes at 2) and were told what all they were out of but our mistake was not viewing the buffet first. $50 for two (with tip). Should've ordered a pizza. Not a fan, maybe guilt by association? Young lady swapped for a cider: 10oz of red and tart and clean. Yea apples! Got a flight of three tiny sandwiches for not-so-taco Tuesday... terriaki and waffled chickens plus an asian pork thing. Kinda spendy but very well executed. Be advised that these three sliders are juicy drippy messes and will almost certainly wreck your shirt!! Flavor fave tonight was almost the chicken-n-waffle until I got a chunk of pineapple with my porks!!! Trade some pickled shredded dikon for the green on the terriaki and it'd be a contest for the ages. So, not a bad evening for slipping in the wrong door to escape the rain. Tall ceilings help distribute the chatter in the dining room. Wooden hi-tops with coordinating seating give a nice view of the fermenters beyond the glass and genuine simulated granite countertop and, for the more adventurous, there's an upper deck with a view of all things. read more

Terrible everything. First and last time here. Stood at the bar just to get ignored by the bartenders, not even acknowledged they just looked past me. That should have been my cue to leave. For the big 1000th review, I have to review Heist Brewery, a fairly new brewery in a place called NoDa (North Davidson) that I visited last week. My friend's loft is steps away from HB, and it is definitley a good and bad thing. Great since you can go anytime, have a great time, and walk back home, bad, I would definitley spend way too much money and pack on a ton of calories at this place! Thursday evening, we had a table right next to the bar, so very convenient. It was a special night, as they were unveiling the beer tap handles. Professional photos were being taken, some delicious hor dourves available, and felt like I was in a monumental moment as people were purchasing glasses of beer as people cheered on. This place is a lot larger than I had expected, as there's a huge area beyond the front bar. There, you can see the brewery through glass, and it's a large open space of tables and bar tables. I was introduced to the Moscow Mule, a Russian version of a margarita. It's also poured in these copper (or silver) mugs that keep the drink extra cold the entire time. It was AMAZING! Very addicting, as it's not super strong. The ginger beer was refreshing, especially with the lime provided. I could've drank these all night, and only $9! We shared a bunch of appetizers, which they have a lot of unique combinations plus your typical bar fare with a twist (strawberry bun anyone?). My favorite by far, was my local friends' favorites as well, the 6 cheese pimento and sherried crab dip. Delicious, especially with the parmesean flatbread provided! I could not stop eating it! Their spinach and artichoke dip was just as good as well! I ordered the jerked chicken flatbread pizza, which was good, but I'd have to say the root beer BBQ duck pizza was even better! We also got the forked-up ahi, which also came with a wasabi soy mist in a mini bottle! How clever is that? Great ambience of locals dining and drinking, and definitley had a great night here that ended my trip quite nicely. If you're unsure of what you want to eat for dinner then Heist is a perfect place to eat out! Heist offers pages of various different tapas that include fish tacos, Asian stir fry, flatbreads and sliders. You won't have any issues finding something that the whole table would enjoy. Their menu offers a lot of gluten and vegetarian options too! Even though these are tapas they are a great size! Two or three plates is enough to feed two people. Highly recommend trying the mushroom flatbread with no bacon, so far it's my favorite item on the menu! The goat cheese with the walnuts and honey is out of this world! Heist also offers a lot of seating options inside and outside, which is nice because this place is always packed! And they have free parking! If you're in the noda area I highly recommend trying this spot out! read more

This place is awesome. Service first of all- two female bartenders on a Wednesday lunch just absolutely crushing it, so impressive and efficient. The beer is awesome (New England ipa done right) and the food is great too, skip the queso but don't miss the Brussels sprouts they were unbelievable. This is the first time we came for the brunch buffet and I will say I was very under whelmed. This place is getting two stars because most of the food was inedible because it was sooo salty. Not only was the food nasty, but they were constantly out of most of their foods. The buffet had skillet potatoes, imitation egg, biscuits and gravy, fruit, fried chicken soaked in vegetable oil, french toast, waffles, shrimp and grits but they're always out of shrimp, and some pastries. The donut boxes were completely empty. Long lines for the bar and buffet. NO PARKING and NO SEATING. Good luck getting there and finding a place to sit down and eat. We parked about 2 blocks away on the street. No service so you have to get your drinks and food yourself. On top of that the staff that you do come in contact with is rude because they're understaffed. Very hot inside and very loud. Will never be back! read more

Came here last night with a friend and her boyfriend. I like the atmosphere and pretty lights everywhere, even inside! I got the Diablo burger and it was absolutely amazing!! I was disappointed that fries did not come with it, and it cost $4 for some on the side (not an unreasonable price alone, but for a $12 burger I felt like it should come with fries)! The Parmesan fries were awesome though, apparently fried in duck fat? If that's true, I feel like it definitely enhanced the flavor- they were great! I got the raspberry and peach seltzer and it was good, but I couldn't finish it. *** Just be warned- whenever you order anything on tap, the default size they bring you is the 16 oz. I would have specifically asked for 10 oz if I had known in advance. I would return here for sure and hopefully sit outside next time. read more

We popped in for a quick beer the other night and this place was completely packed out! That's a good sign. I tried the local IPA brewed there and while it was completely drinkable I wasn't overly in love with it. Maybe that will grow on me. I have been wanting to try this place for a while now but we were not able to during our last trip due to the parking situation, they were slammed and the lot was full. We walked in and to the back to try a few beers, I sampled the Blundus Biere, Sanctify, Vita-C and French Toasted Joe. But, decided to go with a "Hive" Fives since it was a lower gravity option (I normally gravitate towards the higher ABV beers but I wanted to make it through the night after Trolley Pub). We ordered the Beer Cheese but had to make it to-go since we were in a time crunch. I thought that the beer sampled tasted good and the Beer Cheese was AH-MAZING especially with the pretzel sticks for dipping. Every time I've come here it's been packed so the service is a bit slow but it's to be expected. I didn't eat this time but do recall from my other visits their food was great! My flight was super stellar. Nice, rustic, warm brewery feel. The first time I have experienced that type of atmosphere in a brewery. I liked it. The food was pretty good, I give it a 7 out of 10. Service was ok too. Maybe the waitress was new. We received our appetizer the same time we received our entree's so that was a little complicated. The tables got really crowded. To start off with, the beer cheese is actually pretty good. But honestly I think the star of that show is the house-made pretzels. They're fantastic! I got the regular burger, my friend got sliders, and my other friend fish tacos. They were completely in love with their food choices. I don't know how you can mess up mac and cheese so bad and the brisket was some weird stringy ball of goop that made me want to puke. Won't be back anytime in the near future. We had checked out this place after seeing it on diners, drive-ins and dives. We were initially going to try the burger burger burger but found out it was no longer on the menu so we shared the Diablo Burger and the Sweet Shitake Flatbread and to our surprise the kitchen had made too many beer cheese dips so we were gifted that to try. The Sweet Shitake Flatbread was amazing, I really think that next to their beer that this is their bread and butter. The cheese dip was out of this world, I loved the blend of cheeses. I liked the cheeseburger, overall it was a great burger and cooked to our liking. I was a little let down by the name though as I didn't find it all that spicy and with all of the soft elements to the burger I would've liked a crunchy element but the taste was great nonetheless. Parking can be tight sometimes Atmosphere / Ambiance: 4/5 Think of a cross between a restaurant and brewery. Lot's of space and tables so larger parties can be accommodated relatively easy. The establishment is well lit and the table seating makes it less of a bar atmosphere so if you're looking to co-mingle, you might want to try else where. Cleanliness: 5/5 Neat as a whistle Service: 5/5 I've always had a positive experience with the servers and bartenders each time I've been there. Food: 4/5 Heist has solid brunch. Bottomless Mimosas for $10 and an All-You-Can-Stuff-Your-Face buffet for around $15-18. That's good boozing and munching right there. There was one time when the buffet was off once, but eh it happens. Give there flat breads a try. The Chicken and Waffle flat bread was pretty interesting and yummy. Brew pub in the NoDa area. I was surprised by how large their interior is. They have a huge space with two bars and a lot of seating. My review is only on the beer as I did not order food. Was there on a weekend afternoon. Whenever I visit a craft brewery for the first time, I get a tasting flight. They have 14 varieties of beer on tap, but upon closer examination they were either pale ales or stouts, and if you order the stouts you get an entire flight of them. I picked my flight, and all five varieties were citrus-y pale ales. They looked the same, and unsurprisingly tasted almost the same. Not the worst nor best pale ales I've had, but I was hoping for a bit more variety when it comes to the tastes and beer styles. read more

This is my second time coming here and it is my second time being disappointed. It is one of the only breweries in Charlotte that has their own food and not a food truck. I went with my family from out of town that wanted to have some local beer but also eat so we chose here. The waitress was clearly new as she didn't know what the specials were. She also wasn't sure of what kind of vodka they had in their bar (one of the party doesn't like beer). They have a full bar and have brunch cocktails however they didn't have their special bloody mary on their menu. It seemed odd as it was prime time on Saturday and not to have a special doesn't seem like good business. I got the beer cheese burger and a beer. They were both okay. Their beer selection is a bit odd and nothing that really screams YES this is what I want to drink. The burger was over cooked and tasted like the grill. I've heard good things about their beer cheese however on my burger it was lumpy, didn't have much of a flavor to it and was room temp. Everyone else I went with enjoyed their food. Some one else had The Quesadilla said it tasted good and it looked amazing. If I were to go back I will try that. read more

Charlotte is a hell of a beer city, and as of today there's more than two dozen mini breweries in Charlotte. Personally, I like this brewpub more than any of the ones I've been to. And here's a recipe for a perfect Sunday funday: After your extra hour of sleep (it's Sunday, after all), come here for the most ~magical~ meal of the week and enjoy delicious brunch buffet with friends. As of now, Heist offer great booze and great food. Later, they'll open a butcher shop, bake shop, and an event shop. Try the duck confit flatbread and few of their seasonal beer rotations.
