Stopped by Tuesday afternoon, greeted by their sales team who showed us several Bronco trucks, test drove one, decided to buy and came back Wednesday morning to pick up the vehicle. Was particularly impressed by our sales rep, Mke Hungate, who worked with us, without any hassle, to get to a price that we found reasonable. The Tuesday portion of this took about 90 minutes; the Wednesday pickup and finance portion took less than an hour! Mike also was intimately aware of the Bronco features and answered any questions we had without hesitation. Jiffy Lube handles fleet cards better these folks. I recently took my company F150 vehicle in for service and it was like no one knew how to process a fleet card or could help. I had to track down the service manager who incorrectly stated they process these all the time. Took me two hours and just paid the service for myself. Avoid any fleet service. read more

This is probably my fourth or fifth visit to this dealership for various servicing. First of all, I want to make ABUNDANTLY clear that I absolutely appreciate and laud my customer service agent, Mr. Corey Lindsey. He has gone out of his way to make sure that I am taken care of, has always given me a straight answer about what he thinks, and has ALWAYS delivered when it comes to meeting timelines. That is why this review is worth TWO stars , instead of ZERO stars, because he is worth two stars by HIMSELF; honestly, he is the ONLY reason I come back, and I will miss him dearly when I do decide to move on. This review is actually more an indictment of the dealership itself than anything else. Personnel in the customer waiting lobby: OUTSIDE OF Mr. Lindsey, I find many of the customer service agents located in the lobby standoffish, at times almost stoic in their interactions with customers, and none of them go out of their way to help waiting customers on their way. The waiting lobby itself: Customers take their vehicles in to get serviced. Money paid for service completed at a dealership is NOT CHEAP. When customers wait, Helfman Ford should take a page from other dealerships and RENOVATE their lobbies to be more comfortable, user friendly, maybe provide a little more space, offer at least some complimentary items such as coffee or water (not from a water fountain) that is easily FOUND and accessible, more electric outlets, and perhaps a charging station or two. The Wifi service was "spotty" at times and the television was not working. The lighting is VERY SUBPAR, the floors appear "dingy" (I did not say they were dirty nor do I believe they were, but they sure looked the part). The walls have holes in them and in dire need of a paint job, some of the ceiling tiles need replacing, anchors for the carpeting are loose and need replacing/maintenance, TAPED service information posters are old and torn, restrooms appear dingy and the floors are slippery at times. The Customer Service manager, Mr. Vollmer: I will not include how I generally feel about Mr. Vollmer, given that my encounter with him was just one time. I will say that I came away from that one encounter feeling VERY unimpressed and I will leave it at that. IN CONCLUSION: For a dealership that appears to demonstrate that they are proficient in providing quality repairs, be it from the service technicians, customer services representative (like Mr. Lindsey and NOT the customer lobby staff) and the collision repair technicians based on the sheer volume of business and vehicles that they service, this glaring "oversight" makes the owners and managers of this dealership appear penny-pinching, and their facilities spartan. I do not believe for one minute that the supposed "savings" are "all" passed on to the customers, given that the cost to remediate my observations would not cost that much in the grand scheme of things. I do not believe for one moment that a more hospitable environment for your loyal customers is too much to ask for. read more

Came for an oil change and they found an issue with my hood latch. I don't know if it was damaged before I came or what but they fixed it without any extra cost. The staff was very friendly and professional even though I could see they were busy. I liked how they respected my concerns and I was able to talk with Doug and Vincent. Excellent service. There was even a shuttle that can bring you to your home if you are in the area and bring you back. My driver was John and he was a pleasure to ride with. Highly recommend this dealership. read more

Come Monday morning it should've been in the repair shop, I don't get a call until 4pm saying that they have lost my truck and could've find it. Turns out it was stolen along with another ladies on Sunday evening. Lamest service manager and service advisers in the country. Last oil change... I mentioned I may have a oil leak. Please check it out. I was told "we're three weeks out" for that service. Just took in F-150 for yet another oil change. I said again, I have a oil leak under the hood. They wrote it down and said they would check it out. The service department called my office 2 hours later saying truck was ready to pick up. I picked up the truck and looked at their check up form. 1. engine oil filter needs to be replaced. 2. Front wipers need replaced. 3. "Cabin air filter of cabin ?" 4. "There's an oil leak, top engine". Again the check up form clearly states "check for leaks under hood" I would like to congratulate Helfman Ford for pointing out what's wrong with my vehicle. Perhaps times have changed, but in the past I would always get a phone call from a service advisor telling me what's wrong with the vehicle and if they should fix or replace. Now I know a new air filter is not included in a oil change, but why would they not call and get approval to replace? Windshield wipers and air filter are kind of important things that are normally handled during oil changes. Now I have a oil change (assuming they lubbed the chasis) but I have to either go fix the other two things on my own or take it back to them. Like I said - maybe times have changed but has the job role of a "SERVICE ADVISOR" changed ? I think not. When I asked about the oil leak, I was told they have to put a die in the oil to find where the leak is and they're 2-3 days out on that service. I asked if I could make an appointment - NO - those services are first come first serve. WOW! Looking for a dealer service department that actually offers SERVICE. Sorry when I take my vehicle to a mechanic and mention that I have things that need to be fixed, I don't expect to get a invoice along with a list of those same things that need to be fixed. Lastly, tires were all noted to be 35 psi. According to the on board computer the tires are all 36-38 psi. (did they even check them?) According to the "multi point inspection sheet" they never checked TPMS sensors, valves or caps. The form also suggests that nobody checked the fuel filter. Nobody ever asked if I wanted a tire rotation. Helfman used to be a premier dealership in Houston/Sugar Land/Stafford area. Now it's like rolling dice on a craps table. Last 3 visits to this dealership have been very disappointing. I will report back when I find a new dealership that is 4 star or better. read more

I bought a used car here, 2018 Ford Explorer, nice looking car. I get in and drive down the road and with in a few weeks, we go for a little drive and I tried to use the cruise control. It's got accident avoidance or at least it's supposed to. I take it back in and since we bought the full insurance, I was looking forward to no repair cost till at least 120K miles. So when I'm told that it doesn't work because the sensor was damaged in an accident and I've never been in a accident. and damage isn't covered, but for $350 they'll adjust the bent sensor. I go ahead and have them fix it. With in a few days, I've noticed that not only is it not working, but now cruise control stopped working along with the horn and the back up camera. I write the service person and let them know and they say to bring it back in. Then I come down with COVID and a host of other related issues and it's 10 months before I can bring it back. Oh, I check with their sales department and ask them for a car facts, they give me one which shows that it had been in a accident. Dang, would have been good to know before I bought it, but still think they should have fixed the things that were damaged. Now, they want $2500 to fix it. This is so wrong. When you pay almost $30K for a car, plus another several thousand for the extended warranty. You should get a car that works. I've asked for my car back and I'll check on what legal things we can do. They kept my car from Friday to Wednesday to tell me these things. I'm so mad and would advise anyone wanting to do business here to be very very careful and to check things out before making any decisions about doing business here. read more

Due to the current climate for vehicle sales, you would think that customer service would be even more import than ever before, sadly not the case with this less than reputable dealer. I am not going to bore you with all the petty details; about them trying to keep our deposit for our order and lying about the refund. Or, the lack of managerial over sight allowing their staff to purposely withhold our DV registration because we dared to inform Ford of their shady practices. When I invest 60,000 for a vehicle I at least expect to be treated with a minimal level of respect, not lied to and ignored. So, Mr Smith, I hope your staff is better trained and behaved for the next meal ticket that walks through your doors, but it will not be me. Should be able to rate 0 Stars! read more

Disclaimer: I work in auto financing at a different company, a credit union. Helfman Ford is a rather average dealership. First experience was buying my car. Negotiated online with multiple dealerships and Helfman was the one with the best price for what I was looking for. I worked with a salesman who no longer works here, but they were polite and professional. I came with financing already secured, but took Ford's offer to get extra rebates. They will tell you that you have to keep their financing for at least 90 days to keep the rebate; this is false, you can refinance immediately. However, the dealership does not get paid that rebate if you refinance, so it actually does cost them money. It's up to you whether you want to wait to refinance (you can find much lower rates elsewhere, try your local credit union) or do it immediately; but my rule is wait if they ask you to, refi immediately if they lie and try to make you stay. The finance department was a bit pushy on buying protection products, which is par for the course at dealerships. They were unwilling to negotiate a lower price on the warranty, as I already had a cheaper one from a third-party company (my company sells them, but I don't get a discount; our standard price was almost half the price of the dealer's). Finance didn't take too long. It was about an hour from walk in to drive out, but again, I already negotiated before I even came in. I also went in a few days before to test drive. Note: time is your best friend when buying a car. Never test drive and buy the same day! I have done all my service there. While under Ford's manufacturer's warranty repairs were rather painless. Using my third-party warranty hasn't been quite as easy, but still reasonable. It will depend on your warranty provider, but as long as they call to get preauthorization before making any repairs, you should be fine. I did not get a maintenance plan as I don't drive a lot (about 9,000 miles per year, compared to the 12,000 national average and 15,000 Houston-area average), so I wouldn't have gotten the full benefit, but if you drive more it might be worth purchasing. I just had to do the 30,000 mile maintenance on my 2014 Fiesta and it cost about $250. I also needed two new tires and an alignment, which cost another $350, which includes the tires ($95 each) road hazard warranty for the tires ($20 each, a bit pricy but better than buying new tire), and the alignment ($100), plus tax. More than I wanted to pay, but not unreasonable by any means. They do not do loaner vehicles, but do have a shuttle service to take you one-way, but they won't pick you back up. If the driver is not there it would be prudent to ask when he left and his last destination. I went in once and signed up for the shuttle about 2 minutes after he left and ended up waiting 30 minutes for him to get back, plus the extra 15 minute ride to work; it would have been more cost-effective to take a Lyft/Uber to work and get the extra time than to wait for the free ride. All in all, a rather average dealership for an average make type. Service would be better at a luxury dealership, but then you're paying for the luxury. For the great price I paid for my car, I can deal with average service. read more

Used Car sellers are LIERS, the service was slow and crappie, I bought with the car the extended warranty and they never activated till I needed to use (4 weeks after) and they took days to activate it afterwards. Stealing ! They never Reimbursed me money for the rental I paid for the days they took to fix everything knowing it was their mistake. That sucks. I do not recommend it. If there was a zero star rating that's what they'd get. Last summer, right before my daughter was going away to college her car (a hand-me-down from her grandma) starting stalling so we took it to the dealer as that's where she always took it to be maintained. We told the service manager that this was related to the AC because it only ever happened when the AC condenser was on. If we ran the AC without the condenser, it ran just fine. They came back with there was nothing wrong with the AC just an air valve sensor of some kind and replaced that part and sent us on our way. That car drove out to Mississippi accompanying my daughter to college. She barely drove it for the entire school year, really only ever taking out when she came home, at night, not using the AC. She came home for the summer and in Houston heat, began using the AC in earnest. After being home a month, the lagging and noises started again. We took it into another mechanic and they said there was severe wear on the serpentine belt so we replaced that, got the oil changed, etc, and everything seemed ok. A couple of weeks later, it stalled again. Starting full on where we were at nearly the exact same time last year, (the week we planned to leave to take her back to school, at the end of summer) and it's full on doing what it was doing last year. We brought it back to Helfman and they said, "NP your parts are under warranty so we'll get it fixed up without too much extra cost." so we were happy... until we got the call later that day. Now they acknowledge the problem with the condenser and since it's a different part, they won't fix it under the warranty. We told them, and told them, they disregarded our direction and fixed something else...and now want us to pay them twice for what could have been fixed last year. We spoke with the original mechanic, the service manager and HIS service manager and they all bound together as a united front against us. Now we have a chunk of junk that can't be driven, and all we can do about it is tell the whole world to avoid going here. I wouldn't do any kind of business with these guys... don't buy from here, don't service here... there are so many Ford dealers in the city of Houston--- ANY of them are better choices than Helfman in Sugarland. read more

My 2014 Focus is still covered under the manufacture warranty. I took it in on a Wednesday and Ian King stated he would call me that afternoon or Thursday morning to tell me what the tech said. I called Ian King Friday morning, who never called me back, who stated that he would call me back that afternoon. Ian King did call Friday afternoon to say the repairs would be done Monday because the techs don't work on Saturdays, on their website it says they work Saturdays. I called Monday morning and Ian King never calls me back. The following Tuesday afternoon Ian King calls me and ask if I got his voice mail, I said no because you never called me. Ian King then tells me that they are still working on it. Ian King calls me back and leaves a voicemail stating that the techs needed $90/hr for 4 hours to provide a diagnosis. Ian's King then stated that the techs would not test drive my car because they don't feel safe in it, buts stated that for the diagnosis to be done it needed to be test driven to diagnose it, and it was $90/hr. He then ask how long the steering was making a noise, to which I replied what noise? Ian King then states the power steering rack needs repairs. They had it 6 days and couldn't find out what was wrong with it, and then proceeds to tell me that it would cost a couple of thousand dollars to fix a car covered under the warranty but couldn't tell me what was wrong with it in the first place. I asked to speak Ian King when I picked up my car and he refused to see me. This dude is a coward and was trying to scam me. I received conflicting stories and the recalls were never completed. So if I get into an accident they will be at fault for not fixing it. The check engine light was not on when I took it in but when I got it back the light was on. It's still not fixed but I'll go elsewhere and would suggest you do the same. They don't know what they are doing there and the customer service is more a severe lack there of. read more

You call the main number and let them know they just switch you over to the same number and still no one answers. Worse service around. I've been buying my vehicles here for 20 years now. I brought my Ford Truck in on Thursday 07/11 because the starter was making a noise when starting cold, and the light had gone out on one of my power running boards due to wire harness not being secured at installation*. I left on Saturday 07/13 for a 7 day cruise. Returned to Houston on 07/22 and called the service department at 3:30 pm to find out they just got in the parts needed to fix it and that it would be ready at the end of the week. I've heard of it taking some time to fix vehicles, but this is a bit absurd. I've had a transmission rebuilt in less than a week. This is a starter issue.. I can only think of two conclusions: 1. Either their service has really fallen in recent years and if that is the case - go somewhere else. 2. Ford is not building trucks like they used to and this is a major engine overhaul requiring 30+ hours of labor to fix. Whatever the reasoning, it may be worth it to you to try them and vote for yourself. I think I'm going to explore other Ford service departments. *It is worth noting that the power running boards were an aftermarket item from the same manufacturer that produces the same Ford power running boards. These were purchased and installed by Helfman Ford 10 days after the 2018 Ford F150 with 22k miles was purchased. read more

I took my truck in for some repairs which they did a fair job on doing. My only complaint of their service department is that they changed a programed setting on my truck. After I got my truck back every time I got in my truck the driver seat would move to a different location. First of all helfman ford, this is not your vehicle! Your employees have NO business reprograming any settings on anyone's vehicle. I'm sure that their employees think it's funny or are totally clueless... After receiving a preapproval notice via mail I was interested in purchasing a car with this dealership. I live about 45 min from this dealership so chose to shop the cars online until i found a good fiy and then planned to test drive and see the car in person. At first the salesman was attentive and was thorough and was responsive to me emails and texts. My budget wasn't the largest but I was a serious buyer. I got passed around a few times between sales people. I feel as though they did not take me seriously.
