This is my second visit and I love it here. I am slowly making my way through the menu. So far, my favorite banh mi is the grilled pork BELLY. I haven't been to a spot that offers grilled pork belly. The other big deal is that they offer foot long sized banh mi and half sizes. My beverage of choice is a mango lemonade refresher with lychee jelly. Fizzy, lemonade, and real fruit. The wings definitely did take a while as they are made to order. Service was good as well and price is standard. Definitely do the foot long as it's more value for your money since the half foot is just $1 less. The Sandwich is the long skinny style compare to other banh mi but it still pretty good. It seems that she really deeply cares about her business and customers and that she is hardworking. The bread for the banh mi was really good and toasted. The restaurant has comfortable seats. They are in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The one person in the store seems nice. It was early for lunch and we were the first customers in when we came. We saw all the Instagram posts about it so we were excited. We ordered off the menu-- grilled tofu and grilled pork sandwiches. Those plus a coconut slushee cost us $27. Slushie was $6.50, so a little high for traditional bahn mis, not too bad. We sat down for what was a long wait for our sandwiches. It was probably at least 20 mins and then we got the goods! We were going to take the food to Juanita Beach because it was a beautiful day. So we unwrap the Sammie's. They were foot long! I didn't know this so they got me excited. The French rolls were fresh crunchy and crispy and the perfect size (not too big or too fat all around). I see the abundant pickled veggies-- yay! The tofu itself was ok. There was a soy marinate m or sauce in the bread so that added to the flavor. I'd score it a 4/5. Yum! The grilled pork? Maybe we got them on an off day. The pork was so light. Like it was boiled? Not brown like I'd it were marinated. No charring or grill marks. No grilled taste. The pork strips really tasted bland and boiled. They were generous in the filling, but it just wasn't grilled or marinated pork at all. None of that soy sauce on the bread too to add flavor It had the same great foot long bread and generous serving of pickled veggies, but the meat which was the highlight of the sandwich was just so bland. Sorry! . I'd rate it a 3. Maybe a different cook this day? The slushie was ok. No coconut bits, just coco milk and slush. They had other items in the menu. I'd actually come back to give them another try and maybe also sample the other items in the menu (fish sauce chicken wings, egg roll, etc). Maybe then jt will be better. read more
