Not sure why there are so many recent poor reviews. We've been several times now the past few months and think it's one of the best places on the lake. There really isn't a better place to eat on the lake, all things considered. They have come a VERY long way since 2022 summer. The owners are very nice & present for service almost every night. I'm very glad they've found their form & look forward to eating/drinking there for many times to come. read more

Yikes. I would like to start off by saying that the only good about our experience here was our precious waitress McKayla. She was so kind, attentive and super apologetic for our experience. Our story starts at 1:30 pm when I called to make a reservation and they "were completely booked." I asked to be put on a waitlist, to which they obliged. When we arrived at 6:30 the restaurant was almost completely empty and we were happily seated right away. Our waitress kindly greeted us and took our drink orders: 1 glass of red wine and 2 cucumber martinis. We also ordered a chip and dip appetizer. After around 15 min our appetizer arrived, but still no drinks. When we inquired about our drinks our waitress apologized and said the ticket had been sent to the outside bar. When we did receive our drinks the cucumber martinis showed up at Chiltons. McKayla happily corrected the order, but when I received my correct martini it was warm. We finally place our order, which included one salmon with a side salad and loaded baked potato, and 2 filets, one rare, one medium, both with salads and loaded baked potatoes. While waiting on our meal I decide to order a glass of wine instead of another warm cocktail. To my surprise, when I receive my glass of wine, there are 2 noticeable lipstick stains on the glass. Not a great look in the middle of a pandemic. Our waitress was extremely embarrassed and replaced the glass of wine with a fresh one. When we receive our entrees one of the filets was most definitely not a filet and over cooked. The "loaded" baked potatoes also lacked sour cream. The imposter filet was asked to be sent back, not only for its lack of "filetness" but because it was well done. Here is an overall review of the food: remember to BYOS (bring your own seasoning). The salmon was good although lacked the mango salsa that was on the menu description. Both the steaks and the potatoes were extremely under seasoned, and the potatoes were dry. I really wish that I was writing a different review for this new establishment. I hope that we can chalk this whole experience up to brand new "jitters" and the management can use this review as a starting point for restructuring their bar and kitchen experience. read more

Hemmingways hosted the baby shower for my sweet niece and nephew. WOW! What a beautiful event and venue. The owner Jilene, staff Olivia, and all behind the scene, did an outstanding job. The food was splendid, the drinks were top notch, and the service was spot on. Many family members, including myself, traveled to attend this event. We were not disappointed. Had the Chicken Fried Chicken and I would say it was excellent. Crispy on the outside while tender on the inside I Would recommend to anyone. As a long time visitor of this restaurant, I can tell you this place has come a long way and is now, in my opinion, the best restaurant on the lake. You could not have said that a year ago. Where do I even start, we get to this place with a party of 11, and I would like to believe the owner (not sure) seats us and she is great, she makes sure we are all seated and comfortable, so now we are seated and our waiter was nice, took our drink orders and the drinks took a little while to come out but that's okay no big deal we understand our party is a little large. We ordered a couple frozen margaritas and honestly, wasn't impressed, big chunks of ice inside of them but again, it's fine .... So we finally get our order taken, nobody ordered anything special, just some burgers, pizza, a sandwich and some kids meals. About a good 40 minutes go by and we had some friends join us 2 adults 2 children, they get their orders taken, cool. It wasn't until we noticed a table of 6 come in about 30 minutes after us, got their food, ate and left, then another party about the same size as ours gets seated by us, after us and it's a bit windy outside as we are seated out on the patio so that group moves indoors instead. We have now been here for about 1 hour and 30 mins so a friend of ours goes and checks on the status of our food. Now, The lady whom I believe to be the manager came to let us know that they are busy in the kitchen that is why our food is taking so long, so we ask if she can give us some kind of time estimate of when our food will be ready, she says "I don't know your orders were taken at 12:21pm (it is now 1:05pm) we told her "no our friends who came late orders were taken at that time, our orders were taken a good 20 minutes before theirs) so we're starting to believe we were completely forgotten about. The manager then tells us "well you have a party of 15" and we have other people inside as if our big party was such an inconvenience for them and the people outside weren't important, so rude, unapologetic, very argumentative when all were trying to do is eat. She walks off and I get up to go to the restroom at this time, As I'm walking to the restroom I see that same large group that was moved inside from earlier, sitting down eating already When I get back to the table it was at this time that we decide to ask for the tab for our drinks so we can leave and go elsewhere, especially since the manager told us she didn't know when our food will be ready, while we're standing up getting ready to leave, a few people come to our table with a few of the orders finally, but our friend told the manager we don't want it anymore just give us the ticket for the drinks so we can go, the manager then tells us "well you can just have it" and slams the fried pickles on the table annoyed obviously and walks off, as if we were there for a handout or something. We would've all gladly sat back down to eat, but because of the managers attitude, is the reason why we didn't. She is extremely rude, very unprofessional, and is the sole reason why we left A simple apology and attentiveness would've fixed all of this but throughout the entire time, we didn't get 1 I'm sorry, instead, we got a rude manager who wanted to be right and obviously wanted the last word Our large party was an inconvenience to this place and we will never be going back. I hear this place is pretty new so it makes me feel bad for whom I believe to be the owner because she was very nice and attentive (she was wearing a pink shirt on this day) March 20 2022 Sunday in case you see this. The person whom I believe to be the manager was wearing a white shirt. The management team is going to be this restaurants downfall guaranteed and I would hate to see that because the place is nice and the owner is great and probably doesn't even know how customers are being treated. read more

This place is the absolute worst, we waited 2 hours for food, never received it, tables before us got there after, ate and left before us, when we finally complained the manager didn't even apologize instead, made excuses and argued with us, when we were getting up to leave the food just arrived but we declined and instead of the manager apologizing for the inconvenience she told us "you can just have it" with a ugly attitude as if we are there for a handout. so we left the food there and only paid for drinks. Buffet only for brunch. Dirty plates that had to be replaced but they never brought out new plates so we had to ask another server for them. We also had no silverware at our table and had asked for sweetener for our tea that also never arrived so we went in and got it. No butter for biscuits, no salt and pepper. No tea refills. But man are they quick to give you your check! The lady who greeted us said she'd send a server our way but honestly, we did everything but cook our own food ourselves. The higher star reviews must be from years past. I think the restaurant has changed ownership a few times. The place recently has not been worth the price, not even close. Food not cooked thoroughly, rarely saw our server, and we were not allowed to sit on the patio by the lake due to it being full for call-in reservations only. The patio ended up emptying out in less than 20 minutes and never reached full capacity again. Unsure why we had to stay inside. We started with drinks and the Nacho appetizer plate. The meat in the nachos was cubed probably pre frozen meat. I had the ranch water drink, and I do not recommend that. Nachos get 3 out of 5 stars! They quit serving glass, you have your drinks in plastic cups, which is okay. I just have a hard time paying $40 for an 8 oz steak while I drink my $15 Tequila drink out of a plastic cup. The rice that came with each dish at my table was extremely uncooked. It was as if the restaurant was short handed and were rushing everything. The waiting staff seemed to rush around everywhere, except back to your table. They must have been rushing to take the rice out of the Kitchen also. Not a fan of this place. There are far better choices for dining at Possum Kingdom lake. I've tried boondocks or Two old crows, both great! As far as a "boat up to" place I'd save the gas and not spend the time & money on the scenic point grille. I'd go try the scuba point. Maybe things will be more reasonably priced at Scenic point, or the restaurant quality will start to be worth the money. Until then, I would avoid this place. read more

I have to say the 5 star ratings during the last 2 years have got to be friends or family members of the ownership. The "Harbor Grille" has gone down so much from what it used to be. Crazy stupid hours (it's often closed) and a very limited menu. I personally don't go out for hotdogs, hamburgers and pizza. We used to look forward to coming off the lake for a bit and enjoying shrimp & grits, mile high nachos or fried calamari with jalapeños. Not anymore. This restaurant has always been one of our favorites at Possum Kingdom Lake, TX. It has recently been renamed "The Scenic Point Grill". It had been awhile since our last visit. The ambiance remains one of the best at PK Lake. Many new employees and one ole standby at the outdoor bar. All the servers seemed eager to please and were courteous. We had a calamari appetizer. It was tasty but not a very generous portion. I had the salmon with asparagus and rice. It was excellent. My wife had the pork bowl. Not well prepared. Too much juice at the bottom of the bowl. All in all we were delighted to see The Grill back in business. We will try hamburgers and/or pizza next time as the bill with tip was $90.00. A little pricey way out in the country. This place is cute! Although we went off season the service was good and the food was really delicious. We had calamari which was crisp with onions and hot jalapenos. The romaine salad was generous and was lots of cheese. I had, a great Berger and the lobster ravioli had bacon wrapped ship on top! Decadent! I can't actually rate the food. We never got to eat here. I was told that our wait would be 15 minutes, two hours later we were still on the second page and the restaurant was virtually empty. The hostess ran around as a flabbergasted mess and a few people at the bar had been waiting over and hour for their food. The restaurant itself looks nice but I can't imagine they will stay in business long if they have service like that. They missed out on a lot of money last night for sure! read more

Hit or miss with the food and service. Burger was good, chicken sandwich which they took off the menu was good. Fries were really good. Margarita pizza had no sauce, literally, and was super dry and was not good and hardly any chicken on the chicken nachos. Waiter was good at first then disappeared. Iced tea was weak, I even asked if it was watered down it was so bad and he said that's how it is. Might as well drink water or beer. Beer was good but only the first round came out in a frosted glass. Wasn't terrible but the atmosphere was nice so could have been way better. Stick with the beer burger and fries. read more

This restaurant was very disappointing. I went to Possom Kingdom this weekend and while I enjoyed my experience at the Harbor overall, my food experience definitely had much room for improvement. Made reservations for dinner at 8 PM for a group of 7 for dinner on Saturday night. We were not seated until 8:45 PM and our server did not greet us until 9 PM. I got the burger WITHOUT the meat, with egg instead..got charged $2 for egg despite not getting the beef. I let it go and did not question anything. Sunday morning we came for brunch again with 7 people with 6/7 being vegetarian and with the only vegetarian option being the waffle. Due to this we asked the substitute the sausage/bacon with other options. We were charged extra for EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE THINGS despite not getting the meat to add up to a total of about $15. When I questioned the server about this, she just kept repeating to me no substitutions. I then asked to speak to someone higher up who actually happened to be the main chef Stephen, who echoed her sentiments. He told me repeatedly that there would be no substitutions due to them having a somewhat limited staff post labor day, but then said even prior to that they wouldn't do it due to it being so crowded?!?! He then suggested that since we are vegetarian we should just get fruit for breakfast. He did eventually take the additional charges off of our bill, however I was frustration by his "solutions" to the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. There are very limited options for dining here and this happens to be one of them. The food is decent and the ambience is very nice (outstanding patio), however I was underwhelmed by the service and did not appreciate being penalized for being a vegetarian. Additionally, this place has very limited hours. The Harbor is a gorgeous property and Possom Kingdom is a beautiful lake, which are the two main reasons I would come back here. read more

Subpar service. When we arrived, a waitress came to the hostess stand and was shuffling through papers with one hand and had boxes to deliver to a table in the other. After a minute or two of this she said "I have to go drop these off, I'll be right back." another guy came out and sarcastically said "They are real busy." The waitress came back and seated us. I looked around and there was only one table with people inside and as far as I could see outside, there were two tables with patrons (I later asked our waiter if there were many tables outside. He said no.). The manager (I'm pretty sure...long brown hair) walks around like she is better than everyone else and never even talks to guests. Looks like the owner is blaming Yelp for bad reviews, but I am not impressed at all with the service. The food was ok at best. My husband had a ribeye and he ate it, but he wasn't impressed. We had a pepperoni pizza that was a frozen pizza according to our waiter. We had a swiss mushroom burger that was garnished with an old looking sweet pickle that was soft and shriveled up. This was our second visit. The first was on July 4 and I mentioned that my meat was overcooked then. They said they were learning and it would get better. It hasn't. Unfortunately, what could be an amazing place is just not worth the money they charge. read more

First, we are laid back people just hanging about to enjoy the day and in no hurry. Arrived around 2pm in a Saturday. Waited 5 minutes for hostess. Not terribly busy, but told a 20 minute wait. Hung out by the bar and were seated in just over 20. Maybe 25 tables on patio and 3 of them were taken (and only two tables inside were taken), so not very busy. Asked for a specific table, which happened to be one of two that were not bussed yet. Waiter said that he had no idea when the table might get cleaned, but would be awhile (SERIOUSLY!?!). We chose to sit there anyway. Ten minutes later, we bussed the table ourselves. 25 minutes later our drinks were delivered. Took 40 minutes for waiter to take food order. Meanwhile, we were ordering drinks and getting refills at the bar ourselves. (BTW, bartender complained about all the families and "didn't people know how to get a babysitter?" - um, it's Saturday lunchtime 4th of July weekend) Food was just okay, but wasn't all brought out at same time and didn't get everything we ordered, so received salads (with hot lettuce) after finishing everything else. Waitress or food runner took one of our plates to the wrong table; when they said it wasn't theirs, waitress clearly said the F word in front of their small children. No management to be seen. No one asked us how things were. For all this place's desire to be a high class restaurant, they are falling way short! We will not be back to this place. read more

Ok, so we tried it again and had a very different experience. It is in no way a 5 star restaurant but when you factor in the cost, it is really good. I had the Chicken Harbor Bowl. Not a ton of food but a great south of the border flavor. Very healthy and very tasty. Loved it. Still have not tried their burgers but they look good. My wife still sticks to the salmon on top of her salad and she still loves it. So it is definitely worth the effort to go there if you are at Possum Kingdom lake. read more

The food was great! We had planned to go to bonitaville but it was closed so we ended up here. Lovely patio on the lake with sturdy furniture. Our server was very attentive and our food came out in a timely fashion. It's slightly pricey but totally worth it. Delicious!
