I had my usual appointment for an oil change for my 2018 Lexus RX and to my surprise, I was told by service advisor David that it was $185 now for the standard oil change. I previously paid $145 in December 2025 for the same one which I thought was expensive then. He explained the rising cost of labor and parts. I declined and went to Firestone for their Full synthetic oil change and was charged $98 with a $25 coupon plus I received an additional $25 Mastercard gift card. I looked into what I paid on my other cars for their oil changes. My 2020 Dodge Ram, I paid $80 for my oil change in April. My 2014 BMW, is $199 for three oil changes on promotion and My 2012 Honda is $80. Due to this absurd quote that Hendrick quoted me, I asked several of my friends and family what they pay on average and no one has paid over $100. $185 is concerning, considering when I purchased the vehicle in 2020, I was paying $99 for oil changes. That is a 187% increase!!! read more

I waited a few months to write a review as I needed time to comprehend all that transpired. I have owned Lexus IS's since 2007 and absolutely love this car. I moved to Charlotte from California where service was 5-star! I have had nothing but headaches with service. I would get a different answer every time I took my car in for service. I spoke with the manager and he agreed that my issues were valid and said he would use it as a "teachable moment" for his service techs. One tech would say the car was in "great condition" and I would go back in a few months later and the tech would state multiple issues were present. Fast forward to March when I brought my car in for an estimate to fix damage my car sustained when I ran over an object in the road. The tech sent his "video" analysis of my car stating he could not work on my tires as they were after-market tires and he could not touch them. He went on to say that the brakes were also after-market and put on backwards, so he recommended I go back to the shop that did the brakes and have them fix them. Guess who did my brakes? Lexus! I chatted with the very nice service advisor and told her that was a very disappointing response from the tech. He clearly does not know what he is doing. He then tells me he is going to leave the brakes on backwards because they already have a wear pattern and they would be good to go. Thankfully, the manager stepped in and said they would replace the brakes. After getting quotes to fix my car, I decided to trade it in and buy a new 2025 Lexus IS F Sport (gorgeous car). Jasmine was my sales lady and she was very nice and tried her best to make the purchase go smoothly. She was the only person at the dealership that did her job well! I agree with the other reviews stating Lamar is lacking in his job skills. His offer for my car was insulting and I almost walked out the door. I countered and we agreed on a price that was "bearable". I had a rental car during the week it took for an estimate on my car and was told I could leave the rental at the dealership and they would get it back to Enterprise. Was I surprised when I got a call from Jasmine 7 days later asking when I was coming to pick up the rental car! Needless to say, I was mad and told them they would be paying the $400 charges for the rental that sat in their parking lot for 7 days. They did pay that fee. My car came with tint that had bubbles in almost all windows. I asked for them to fix the bubbles since they charged me $600 for the tint. That process was as bad as the service center. When I picked up my car, there was glue drips all over the black leather back seat! I still cannot get all the drips off the seat. I hoped people writing reviews would bring about change at this dealership, but nothing changes. I have two friends that also use this dealership and state the same type of issues. I am seriously considering driving to another town for future service. Do better Hendrick! read more

Lamar is hands down the worst part of the experience. He comes across as disorganized, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping customers. Every interaction with him feels like you're inconveniencing him, and instead of solving problems, he either avoids them or makes them worse. There's zero accountability and even less professionalism. Honestly, it's hard to believe he's in a leadership role when the rest of the team is clearly trying to do the right thing. They promised to match a deal I got from an out of state dealer, but I had to visit their dealership in person because they couldn't do it over the phone. I drove 30 minutes just to find out that they wouldn't price match the deal and even added over $1,000 in dealer add-ons that they hadn't mentioned when I called. We were down to $500 and Lexus would not negotiate any further. The awesome salesman (Kelvin) tried really hard to get this done for me but apparently the finance manager would not budge. I have never been treated so poorly at a dealership in my life. From the moment I walked in, I asked over and over, five or six times to test drive the car I was interested in. They flat-out ignored me and dragged me straight into the business office to start paperwork on a car I hadn't even driven yet. Who does that? When I finally got to test drive it, after signing paperwork, the car didn't even have the features I specifically said I wanted. And instead of owning their mistake, they told me I was basically "stuck" with it. No apology. No solution. Nothing. Then the story changed again, they suddenly told me the car I actually wanted would require $8,000 down, and then had the nerve to say my credit "wasn't good enough" even though my credit score is absolutely fine. The attitude, the rudeness, the lies, and the pressure... it was disgusting. I felt talked down to, dismissed, and completely disrespected. What's even worse? They flat-out refused to fix anything. Didn't care one bit about the fact that they misled me from the second I walked in the door. The whole place felt shady, like the goal is to trap people into deals they didn't agree to. If you value honesty, respect, or basic human decency, run the other way. This dealership does NOT care about customers, only about trapping you and blaming you when you call them out. I am very pleased with the service I receive when I am at the Charlotte Lexus Dealership. Vanessa Hardly has been very helpful in assuring that my inquires are promptly communicated and addressed. She always demonstrates professionalism, patience and is very respectful. During the recent snow, I was in possession of a loaner as my car was being serviced. I was unable to return the care as scheduled due to the weather, which concerned me. However after communicating with Vanessa, she was very understanding which was reassuring that all was well and just keep her posted as to when I could safely return the car. They delivered the vehicle to me. It was never fixed. I asked them to cover the cost of having the problem fixed locally (I live over 3 hours from them), they totally ghosted me. The salesman, the used car manager, and the woman that handles the contract/financing. So damn glad I didn't waste a huge amount of money buying the warranty they pushed. I have bought 5 cars at Hendrick Lexus and I really like the product. Also, I have had good service experience at Hendrick Lexus when I've needed MAJOR repairs. Having said that, I just had the 15,000 mile service done on my 2024 TX 350. The service entailed a tire rotation, fluid top off, and front/rear wiper blade replacement (no oil or filter change). Cost: $400.23. I can have this service done, with oil change, at an independent shop for under $100 without voiding my warranty. I won't use Hendrick Lexus anymore for routine service unless there is no other choice. read more

I purchased a car from them back in October by the middle of December I needed $3000 worth of work and because this car was used, although it was certified through Lexus they tried to leave me with this bill have to go back-and-forth with the service manager, and the sales manager and calling Lexus the corporate office they decided to pay the bill and it was since on the car and also my hatchback wouldn't open without making noise. I also put $3500 down on this car and now I have to go to motor vehicles to get my registration I've never purchased a car from a dealership and had to go to motor vehicles and pay for the registration until a year later the registration and all of that was included so I will never purchase a car from Lexus again on top of our already came there with issues because I have a car that I I still have nine more months making payments for, and my transmission went so these folks knew that I was already going through something with having a car that I only have a few more months to make payments read more

We went to Hendrick Lexus looking for a UX. We were ready to buy and FWIW, we were dressed as if we could afford it. Our salesperson could not have been worse. He acted as if he was doing us a favor by waiting on us. He showed us one car with next to no conversation. As I sat in it, I asked him to tell me about it. He gave maybe three or four sentences of the absolute basics. He never offered us a test drive. Then he walked us across the entire parking lot to see another car. When we got there, it had a sold sticker on it. All he said was, "oh, I guess it sold." Shouldn't he have known? And instead of taking us on a hike, isn't it customary to bring the car around? Bad experience from the beginning with BJ talking loudly about me (unaware of who I was) about miscommunication related to my arrival time (stated now she gone show up 4 hrs later...) to him not knowing some car features (told us 2022 ES F sport didnt have a car charger but we found it and he was like oh I forgot) and Lamar speaking in a disrespectful tone to my husband after we respectfully said we would pass. We understood when BJ said our offer was not accepted. There was no need for Lamar to come out with an attitude asking us for more info while also saying there was no room to negotiate. So I would of let it go but... So we bought a used car for a large price tag (close to the new car price of some other makes of car that are not Lexus). Though because it was Lexus and coming from the dealership thought it would be ok. I understand buyer beware on used cars especially since NC has no lemon laws for used cars. The salesperson offered us a dealer warranty program to purchase, that we were actually interested in, that the dealership then told us our car was not eligible for. That should have been our first red flag, despite all the assurances and paperwork showing all the work they had done on the car. So we thought that it was in good shape, given the documentation and assurances by the salesperson. Less than three weeks of having the car the engine light comes on. Ended up having to take it to the mechanic turns out part the vehicle emissions control system was bad. Something that we were told shouldn't have allowed the car to pass inspection, but wouldn't hurt us to drive it. While fishy since the light stayed off about a week so most likely was bad when sold to us, but could have been just our bad luck that it broke so soon after getting the car (that was "supposed to be in such good shape and would last us a long time without needing to be serviced"). That fix ended up costing us about another $1,000. While irritating that is what you expect to occasionally happen when buying a used car even from a dealership. So would have let it go at that and not said anything. But less than 2 months into owning the car now the engine light is back on with a new problem that we are waiting to hear back on what the new problem is and what it will cost and been in the shop 3 days already. I could have even let that go. Because once again a used car and salespeople lie and I am an easy going person. And not like we could do much about it anyway since we bought it outright as is. But while the car is in the shop for what is looking to be another very costly repair for a car that was supposed to be in good shape in less than 2 months of ownership, we get in the mail a letter from the dealership we bought the car from (that would not let us buy their extended warranty deal) telling us that our car did not have a warranty program with them and that we should really think about getting one with them since without it we would be liable for any costly repairs that a vehicle could suffer. That is the straw that broke the camel's back as it added insult to injury. The language I would use if I wasn't an adult right now about how mad I am about this situation would make a sailor blush. In no universe should it be acceptable that you spend a small fortune for a vehicle that is supposed to be in excellent condition and it have to go into the shop not once but twice for costly repairs in less than 2 months of ownership. The reports about the condition of the car were very obviously misrepresented by the dealership. Add to that them obviously knowing this because they offered the extended warranty service at first then came back and said oops our bad you can't have it, but are now trying to sell us one again saying the car should be eligible now that we fixed the issues would seem to show they knew exactly what they were doing. If that is the type of service you can expect from this Lexus dealership my recommendation for anyone else would be to shop elsewhere. Especially if you are buying a used car from them. Buyer definitely beware. read more
