Greeted by the manager who was very rude and condescending. He told me I couldn't bring my iced coffee in (I just bought it) and he wasn't nice about it at all. He wouldn't seat me. He made me feel embarrassed at the hostess stand and like an idiot, all over a $3 cup of coffee! I couldn't believe how he acted as a manager, he needs to be fired for acting so poorly. I was meeting a friend for breakfast and we felt so uncomfortable we left and ended up eating at First Watch down the street, who didn't care about my iced coffee at all. They welcomed us in and gave us top notch service which is what anyone would expect. Our server thought it was weird when I asked if I could bring my coffee in - he was like, of course you can!! We stopped in here for breakfast with family this week and had a nice time. My only complaint is the food. It was just quite bland, it wasn't awful by any means, but it definitely does not make me excited to come back. We went on a week day and were seated immediately at one of their picnic tables outside, which was perfect for three small children and the weather was beautiful. Our waiter came right away and took our drink order as we were waiting for the rest of our party. He was quick and attentive the whole stay and all of the staff worked well together and my coffee mug was never dry. We had the pumpkin pancake special, the carnitas burrito, and the Mexican Benedict. The pancake was the best, but still did not wow me. Both of our other dishes just did not have any flavor really and I would not order it again. Overall it was an enjoyable visit with family, but the food will make me look elsewhere next time. Solid food, good service an reasonable prices! Was in the area and decided to stop by for brunch. Came at 1 and there was no wait although i would say they were still steady inside. Ordered and iced coffee with the French toast and my boyfriend got the " short stack" with a side of bacon and their potatoes The French toast was the best part, i did taste some coconut in it ( not a coconut fan) but still Enjoyed it! The portion was large and in my opinion could have easily been shared. The potatoes were AMAZing Like thing sliced red potatoes season with rosemary delishness! The pancake " short stack" was HUGE like the size of a personal pizza, in my opinion lacked taste and was an odd texture, wouldn't order it again. The home fries are are good, but I think they need more sear, however, if you ask for them well done, they deep fry them (which wasn't as good) so be aware to say well done on the griddle. Amazing food! Honestly, be prepared to spend a long time here. That's both good and bad for the business. It shows that the food is good...unfortunately it doesn't translate well when you have kids. Ticket times averaging 35 on the weekend (per manager) plus wait time and seated wait time are hard for breakfast foods. Our particular visit included a long wait time and then a very long wait time for food. The server was friendly but after putting our order in disappeared. The manager approached us, not vice versa, when she kept noticing we didn't have our food. We mentioned that our server disappeared too. Shortly after, our food came and as they were putting the toast down I noticed a hair on the toast....they immediately took back and told me it was a butter brush and not hair. I believe them, it very well could have been but it's just not something I would know to inspect and eat. At this point, the manager said I want you to come back and try our kitchen. We have new cooks and we are just getting going. We said no, we don't want a free meal. She was very nice. But in this same time period, she must have talked to the server because the server then continued to avoid and didn't check on us again and we had to get up and ask for napkins, butter, etc. We even said to the manager, we understand it's out of her control...I hope she's not upset. She went from avoiding us to slamming dishes at the table next to us, etc. My husband had to get her attention to break change and she said "when I'm done"...she was bussing a table. The food was really good, the manager was very nice, my lower stars reflect this servers attitude and I think she would retaliate if we went back! I'll try the other location! read more

We have been to Hen House many times but that has come to an end. I ordered the eggs Benedict, there wasn't enough hollandaise so I asked the server for more only to find I was charged $3.00 extra, $3.00. I don't mind paying for good food but don't appreciate when a restaurant nickels and dimes their guests. They also use Wolfermans English muffins which in my opinion are way too big for eggs Benedict and too soft. The potatoes were limp and soggy. Very disappointing! read more

Staffing is tough right now, but we were told that the wait would be 30 min. 45 minutes later we were seated. After our drinks were taken they told us that the food would be an additional 45 minutes coming out of the kitchen. Loved my first time visit here for a work birthday breakfast!! We were a large group and the staff did a great job squeezing us all in. I had the lemon blueberry pancake with lemon mascarpone on top! Holy Awesomeness!! From the first bite it was mouth watering yummy! My only complaint is that it needed to be cooked a touch longer. One side wasn't brown at all. Made me nervous to eat it, but it was luckily cooked enough on the inside so I didn't have to send it back. Everyone else in our group had good meals too! I'll definitely be back again!! The service was ok. It wasn't great. I went in as a party of 2. Wait to be seated was only 10-15 minutes. We arrived after the morning rush. But the wait time for our food was 45+ minutes, after placing our order. One of us got breakfast (pancake was great!). The sausage patty was burnt and charred, not great. I got the south west chicken wrap with breakfast potatoes. The wrap was hot. I've never had a southwest wrap that was so hot (it was hotter than the breakfast plate), typically it's served cold. Since it was hot all of the lettuce in the wrap was wilted and the entire thing was really mushy. The breakfast potatoes were very unevenly cooked. There would be some potatoes not even seared and some that were black completely too a crisp. It was almost like there were made in a casserole dish and this was what was scraped off the bottom. I would recommend sticking to only the breakfast menu and not even touch the lunch menu. read more

Oh My! This is no place for those who eat very little. If you do, you will have leftovers for breakfast and brunch. They have big portions and the HUGEST pancakes I have ever seen. My dish was poppin! I had green chile shredded pork with chorizo over tostadas benedict style with house made salsa and potatoes. Best Hollandaise sauce I have had because it was zesty almost like a spicy nacho cheese. Also had on the side crunchy sweet french toast (DROOOOL) with whipped cream and banana chips for an added crunch. I can't wait to come back for more! There was a tad bit of a wait, there was 6 of us, but there was seating for us while we looked at the menu and were ready to roll once we were seated. The henhouse is a classic American breakfast joint with lots of really great options. One of my favorites are the outrageously big pancakes (mom's homemade pancake). They also have a lemon blueberry mascarpone pancake that is slightly smaller but still big enough to need a pizza box for a take home. The last time I went I got a Texas eggs Benedict with with corn bread, carnitas, poached eggs, and green chili hollandaise. It was incredible! My wife had the breakfast burrito and also enjoyed it. I wish the food matched the service. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. I forgot to specify that I preferred my eggs cooked hard. Not to worry--these would have bounced. The biscuit was burnt on the bottom and needed to be cut with a knife in order to eat. The gravy was more of a smear, rather than a serving. It was billed as "sausage gravy" but I had to search for it. Stacy was my server and was friendly and accommodating. But, in the end, it's about the food. I won't be back! read more

Don't expect a fancy meal or something "sprinkled with lemon zest" to that nature but expect to get an EPIC AMERICAN BREAKFAST! All the dishes I've had are huge portions and they taste great! The food was pretty good. The giant pancake is worth ordering at least once especially with a group of people. We had the kids and their friends with us ad the four girls did some major damage to it! We were proud. The service comes and goes. Inconsistent to say the least. We have been here and the service is good and another time, we could not find our server to get refills or even the check.
