Came on a Friday at 9:45pm. There was live music, and it was very loud inside. 5 stars for the amazing servers. It seemed that there were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant, and they did an amazing job. Our orders came out very quickly and the servers were super nice. We ordered 4 appetizers to share among 6 ladies, and the portions were huge! French Fry Sampler (5/5): the fries were crispy on the outside and super moist and soft on the inside. All 3 flavors (Cajun, Garlic Parmesan and Plain) were delicious :) Spinach Artichoke Dip (4/5): the dip itself was very yummy but the chips were not super crunchy. They had more of a cracker texture. Chicken and Jalapeño Quesadilla (5/5): super yummy! And super big portion. Spicy Buffalo Wings (4/5): good flavor but not that much meat on the wings. We also ordered 1 beer and 1 Sangria pitcher (filled 4 glasses with ice), and everything came out to ~$110 total. On Thursday I came in to enjoy burger bash. The food and drinks were excellent like always. But the real issue that I had was with the manager working the floor. She came off relativley rude to her employees almost like she was talking down to them. As a customer I shouldn't feel awkward tension but it kind of felt that way with how she was instructing the employees. I highly recommand Hennessey's for the food and drink, it's always very good. I just wish the management was a little more professional. Update: I changed my review to 4 stars from 2 stars. The previous review was never because of the food or service for the most part, that is always superb. It was just because of the situation. Our small party of 4 came here for Sunday night karaoke. I think everyone in the place including us were having a great time. Our waitress Mikayla was absolutely wonderful! She made our visit that much better. She was happy to be there, attentive to our needs, and we definitely want to come back. Food was good and came in a timely manner as well. Mediocre joint at best! My friends and I went here because they want to celebrate the Laker domination over the Heat :/ Unfortunately, their television is inside the tavern. We got seated outside, which is cool because it was musty inside. The outside seating is alright and nothing really stand out (not bad or good). The service is pretty good and fast; their customer service is accommodating, but sadly thats only one that stands out. The food is equivalent to a cafeteria food :/ I ordered their Red-Headed Rueben Sandwich with added sweet potato fries. This sandwich is not bad, but anyone can make this.. it is literally looks and taste like hospital food. There is nothing wrong with this food, but for about a $15 sandwich, this should be better than Subway. Unfortunately, the local Subway beat it in a long run. They cheapen the quantity of their sauerkraut and their meat. Its proportion looks like a kids meal. Overall, I felt like I got robbed in the street by the pricing and the quantity of the food :( read more

We were catching up with some friends in the Seal Beach area over tons of drinks and Hennessey's Tavern was a great option for us on a Saturday night. Seating is outside of the restaurant during this Covid visit. Our server was good with checking on us and keeping our drinks fresh throughout this power drinking schedule. Chicken Wings & Fries: Tasty and the wings were packed with meat. This was the perfect appetizer/dinner for me as I was still full from a heavy late brunch. Paired with fries, this bar food classic is done right here at Hennesey's The BFF went with the Steak and mashed potatoes that were garnished with two baby shrimps. She annihilated the plate quickly. I didn't even get a chance to sample so I guess it was pretty good. lol Operating with no indoor seating and limited capacity is tough for any business. We came to Seal Beach for a Covid mini beach-getaway. Hennessey's Tavern is an eye-catching pub-like place on Main Street so we bookmarked it for a breakfast. They have a semi-enclosed patio area as well as a larger outdoor seating area. We chose the semi-enclosed patio, which overlooks Main Street and gave us a look at the interior of what must be a very fun hangout spot in normal times. The breakfast menu was pretty standard fare. I had the "eggs" which is the requisite breakfast platter of two eggs (scrambled w/ cheese!), meat (bacon for me), potatoes (I subbed avocado slices for an extra charge) and toast. It was A-OK. My friend had the French toast. There is something about the accompanying plastic container of syrup that just feels wrong, but... the times we're in dictate this. Coffee was good. Service fast and friendly. The food likely won't knock your socks off, but it's a nice spot to sit a spell. And the Bloody Mary looks amazing - unfortunately, we had to drive back to LA or several of those would have been ordered! read more

A family favorite. Portions are generous, price is fair, service amazing, and hardly a wait. I prefer their breakfast menu over their lunch/dinner. They have the best menu out of everyone on Main Street. My only wish is they allowed dogs on the patio. Their omelette, skillet, and French toast are always cooked to perfection. My boyfriend and I go to Seal Beach once a week for date night and have tried many places there. We came into Hennesseys one night and we haven't gone to any other restaurant since. This is going on 4 months now. We absolutely love it there. The atmosphere is fun and staff/patrons are very kind. One is particular is Gavin the bartender there. He is always so helpful, kind, funny, and knowledgeable in everything there. I don't even ask for a drink anymore, I leave to Gavin to decide for me and he always hits it out of the park. He has GREAT recommendations for the food and is 100% right on everything I've eaten. My favorite thing there is the French Onion soup and calamari. If you go there, sit at the bar and be greeted with this friendly Irish man. He will make your night epic and he can recommend when you can't decide. Thanks Gavin! See you next week! read more

This is the first restaurant I dined in since the safe at home order was in place. Although it is not running 100%, they make a really good effort to accommodate everyone's orders, get everyone seated (or served) and catch up to everyone's requests. You can choose a sit-down spot, or you can have one of the taller tables for drinks (and food if youre ok with standing up). They are friendly with pets, but you will be asked to sit in the patio area. Although their menu for now is narrowed out, They saved the best anyway. The best for me was their Mushroom burger. Drinks are also served around the clock as long as they are open. I like their drinks- they're made pretty strong. Definitely coming back more and looking forward to it fully opening to try the rest of their food. read more

My husband ordered the Bacado omelette again because it's his favorite. We sat inside this time and they had great music playing. They had the place decorated for Halloween. I took my first trip to Seal Beach yesterday and stopped by Hennessy's Tavern. Service was attentive with great recommendations, and the vibe was cool and relaxed. The photo doesn't do it justice, but the pretzel burger and sweet potato fries were fantastic! The temperature was spot on, as requested, and it had amazing flavor. We felt ignored. We sat down and Ari came to the table. He was very friendly. My family ordered, but I wasn't ready so I asked him to put their's in. A few minutes later, I ordered the special burger and a beer. Ari sat and chatted with other customers and even left the building for awhile. I expected to get my beer before my meal. After Ari left, I walked up to the bar and asked for it. The bartender explained that my server would being it. I returned to my table to my family, who had their food but were waiting for napkins and utensils. I went back to the serving station found the items, which I delivered to my family. I still had no beer and no food. Because of time, I decided to cancel the beer when my food arrived. The live musician was really good but way too loud. We couldn't easily carry on a conversation. Amazing they care so much about the comfort of your dog not laying on screaming Hot pavement, and they bring a clean metal bowl of water for our dogs. Our food was alright! Burgers, Fish N Chips 3 small pieces, and fries. 15.00 for Fish tacos " two" one small strip of Cod in both tacos, and a tone of hot coleslaw coated in Mayo. Cold corn tortillas, should have been grilled a bit Yuck!! I squeezed a lime slice to cut the HEAT dry spice. Awful. The couple with us they had Burger it was just OK, they order the fries extra well, or they come soggy!, friend eating, and in the hat Reuben looked dry! Awful, no thank you. I bet the mixed cocktails have NO Alcohol in them whatsoever!! At least my watermelon margarita was "water with a pink hue!" My husband tasted my cocktail, and said , your cocktail has NO alcohol in you margarita, just a mix and that's light!! SAD for the price! Tequila Sunrise cocktail had only two colors, watery and again NO Alcohol what so ever, my husband agree, no alcohol. Please I highly recommend you go to the bar and watch the bartender make your parties cocktails!!!! I was very disappointed about our meals, and my two cocktails on two different occasions. Stopped by this place because we heard the live music. When we sat down and were gunna try to wait for the bar. Then Micheal came up to us and took care of our orders. Best happy hour in Seal Beach. All bar tenders are extremely attentive to the customer needs. The Greyhounds are terrific. They are Amsterdam vodka and half a squeezed pink grapefruit over ice. I get anywhere from 1-5 since I wa K home and don't have to worry about driving. All the food is great, and the burger specials on Tuesday (bogo free) and thursdays 6 dollar smash burgers) are the best in town. Can't recommend coming here enough. On main, you can find some good food. I've been to Hennessys before usually for late night life. Live bands good food. Went to get a Irish Breakfast after St. Pattie's with some friends. Ordered an Irish coffee and the Dublin Eggs Benedict, friends had the same. Coffee was on point for that cure, food was filling and delicious. Bloody Mary was nice and spicy. I came here for lunch. I ordered a brisket sandwich, chips, and a Diet Coke. Had to flag down the waitress for a refill. The sandwich had HUGE pieces of fat on the meat. See photos. Chips were crispy and good. The first thing I do when I get a sandwich is take off the bun and look at it. This one was especially fatty. I started to trim each piece of meat. My friend took away my sandwich and gave me half of his chicken sandwich. That was very tasty. He gave me an onion ring. Very greasy, not much flavor. I'd like to be able to review the food and service at this establishment but am unable to because we never had ANY service and therefore no food. The restaurant was maybe half full at 1:15 p.m. and there appeared to be wait staff because we could see them serving other diners. But no one approached our table for somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes so we left and walked down to The Hangout. They were swamped but we had a waitress that appeared happy to see us within a minute or two of being seated. I know that Hennessey's Tavern has been in Seal Beach for many years - but with the lack of service we experienced today I don't know why. read more
