Everyone comes out of the woodwork for 2 FER TUESDAYS! Bring a friend, and you can dine on two hamburgers for the price of one. Let me tell you, these are some serious hamburgers! They're juicy, they're delicious, they are always cooked just right. Plus there are so many to choose from! My personal favorites are the Cowboy Burger with BBQ sauce, bacon and an onion ring and the Mexican Burger with ortega chilis and Monterey jack cheese. Oh. Hennessey's. Seems to me that you're named after a beer, but I don't know beer. I've been to this particular location twice. The first time was quite a few years ago; a night that will live in infamy as it ended up being the night that I fell and ruined my favorite pair of jeans. I remember that night as being rather pleasant as the bar was quiet and calm, and I was there with my best friend who is currently in Korea forever. In fact, I think that we, along with another friend, were the only people there. I seem to recall having one drink and then yelling out for the "barkeep", and then after that dazedly walking somewhere or other, resulting in the famous tearing of my pants. It was an okay night. I went there recently with my boyfriend and a friend visiting from San Fransisco, and I'm sorry to say that the experience did not live up to the first. It was extremely loud, which, okay, it's a bar... but that's not my type of scene. If you can't hear someone who's sitting half a foot away from you, you may as well just give in and join the funny girl dancing in between the tables even when the music has stopped playing. She doesn't care if she can hear you; I doubt she'll even remember she was here in the morning. Also, the drinks were bad. I'm not sure what I ordered, but what I got was ice, water, and perhaps a splash of rum. My boyfriend ordered a whiskey sour and only got the sour... I mean, literally. They forgot the alcohol. We didn't feel like complaining to the waitress, because it was too much trouble to talk to her over all the noise, and she wasn't very helpful anyhow. Usually when someone is that bad at their job, I just assume that they're new. The benefit of the doubt doesn't cost me anything. Hm. This review seems a tad too negative. There are some pluses to this bar... like, if you can get in on a quiet night it's pretty all right. At the very least there's a gelato place within walking distance, so that's nice. The beach is somewhere around there, too, if you're in to that sort of thing. Yelp is telling me I spelled gelato wrong, which is unsettling. I think that's the correct spelling. Isn't it? It's got to be. What am I if I can't spell things right? Nope, googled it. I definitely spelled it right. Anyway, I wouldn't ever suggest heading here again, but I don't see why other people can't enjoy it. Unless you're like me, in which case you probably won't enjoy it. I love Hennessy's. Come here all the time. Came at 12:05 on a Sunday for breakfast, a bloody mary to watch the games for the day and the cook said he would not cook breakfast. Went someplace else... When you get here, please seek out the Asian bartender immediately. never got his name, but he was such an awesome bartender/entertainer. Drinks were good - deals were good too. I'm born and raised in the area and have been coming to Henessys for as long as I can remember. This is now the second time I have been treated with the utmost disrespect from the bartender whom I believe her name is Kenna. She was incredibly rude to me, other customers, as well as to her fellow colleagues. She has now been the topic of conversation once again within our circle, which we all agreed on that we will no longer bring our business here when she is working behind the bar. This bar was pretty good, enjoyed the sports channels & the friendly service. Their happy hour specials on alcohol beverages are really good, but didn't try their food yet. So far there is nothing negative about the place, but it wouldn't kill to blast the A/C once in awhile. And the other thing is, make sure you bring plenty of loose change if you decide to choose this establishment, because parking meters are alive from 6am to 6pm. read more

I had a very pleasant evening here last night. Redondo is usually not a place that I'd ever go to for hanging out, and I was pleasantly surprised and appreciative that this place (and row of bars) exists. My comments are more directed toward the ambience as our party of four had already eaten and came here for drinks and chatter. The beer selection was limited, but I was quite happy as they had a beer called Blue Moon, which I had never tasted before. Had a few of those =) All the other beers on tap were more been here/done that. Also, I loved the ambience as the mood of the bar was active, but not noisy. I came for a nice conversational evening with my friends and I don't recall having to expend any unrequired effort in talking or listening to others. Also, the side order of chips and artichoke dip was the perfect snack and also gets a thumbs up. read more

2-for-1 burger Tuesdays is not a great deal. We were asked how we wanted them cooked - one medium and the other medium rare. They both came out charred and very, very well done. We were both starving and couldn't find our server, so we ate them anyway. To be fair, when I mentioned it, the girl offered to remake them, but we were hungry and it was late on a weeknight, so we said it was fine. Also, the amount of fries given was quite meager. It's not like I need more fries, but I was literally sad when I saw the portion. For $14, I expected more, but maybe they were assuming I should expect $7 quality due to the special. We first visited Hennessey's on Saturday night just in time to catch a band doing a MAGNIFICENT cover of Bob Dylan's "How Does It Feel" with a stand in horn player (at least I don't think he was with the band). Seriously the horn MADE the song! The staff here are fantastic, everyone was extra friendly and eager to help. They also had Karaoke on Sunday night until about 1:00am. A FLY IN MY BLOODY MARY!!! First off it came without olives which is a common garnish for a bloody Mary. I was stirring it with my straw. Then I saw a fly up against the inside of my glass. I asked to speak to the manager and a man named Dave came out. I got a long lecture instead of an apology of how there are flies in the world and sometime they just land and stuff like this happens. I would think that before DAVE the bartender/manager sends out the drinks he would check them. Or when apologizing to the customer that just took 2 sips of a Bloody Mary next to a fly in the glass show a little bit more consideration and regret for the disgusting and traumatic experience. As slow as it is because of the pandemic I would think that he would want customers to come back and not treat them with disdain. Worst customer service ever they should get a new manager with better customer service skills! , I will not be going back there. This bar was so much fun last night. A mixed crowd of all ages, friendly and attentive bartenders and servers and a working bathroom. What else do you need in a bar? It was Saturday night and t hey had a pretty legit 3 man band playing the most random and varied music genres. They had the bar dancing, tapping their feet and having a good time. I believe they are called Vicious Fish, but I could be wrong. I would recommend this place to meet some friends for a drink and act a fool. I came here on a Friday. The area isn't really busy at all which is a good thing when finding parking. Many spots were available right in front. We ordered a couple of appetizers. I was impressed. Surprisingly, the artichoke and spanich dip was one of the best I've had at a restaurant. It was fresh. The chicken tenders were amazingly tender. If was easy to cut up with the fork alone. My friends and I each ordered a Hennessy's fresh squeezed lemonade. It wasn't too strong but it did sneak up on us after awhile. read more

I have to admit this isn't as delightful a location as the one in Hermosa Beach, but I've still got a soft spot for this Hennessey's. The Irish mother and I have both schlepped down here on more than one occasion to enjoy the fries and sandwiches. If I could give this place no stars i would .we came Saturday night around 10:30 there was already about six parties ahead of us we were told it was going to be about a 30 minute wait, so we decided to wait since everything else around us was already Closing. Keep in mind we were literally right outside by where the bouncer is keeping track of the parties being seated period. We were two parties behind when a party of three arrived to sign in and he mentioned that there was a 30 minute wait and they offered to give him $30 we saw the money being pulled out and handed to him . This changed after our last visit on a Sunday evening. The wings are so small they should be called pigeon wings and should have never been served. The fish was overcooked, but at least they are alright. What got me upset was that the wings at the next table were the regular size ones. I don't know what to say... The sign in front of this little Irish-themed sportsbar presented an interesting idea: NY steak dinner & a beer (beef 'n brew) for $11, the Monday special. I hadn't had a steak in 20 years. The waitress was adorable, the steak was somewhat chewy & tastless, garlic mashed potatoes were great, as were the steamed veggies. Overall, OK. I had forgotten how much I like A-l Sauce. Decided to skip the beer, fearing carb overload. Hennessey's has 10 additional locations besides Redondo, scattered down the coast to San Diego (Seal Beach, Laguna, Dana Point, etc.). Terrible food, just okay service. It took forever for our food to come and the place wasn't busy. Every order (we all had burgers) had something wrong, no cheese, no condiments, missing bacon. To make it worse it took the kitchen forever to get the missing items to us, our food got cold waiting. Every time I come here, I enjoy myself. It's a great location for breakfast/brunch + bloody mary's/mimosa's, something the husband and I do to start our day in the area. Lunch and dinner aren't bad either, but remember - it is a bar/tavern - so don't expect fine dining. During the summer, it gets prety packed since the location is beachfront and during Fiesta, its the best location to watch the bands on the main stage. My favorite food here is the Irish Nachos and my favorite drink varies by the time of day and my mood. They've got some good happy hour specials and we always have a good time here! We even considered having our rehearsal dinner for our wedding here (but their max was slightly lower than our guest list, so it wouldn't have worked). I only gave them 4 stars, with the expectation they'll bump me up to 5 the next time I go there. Whether it be because of another fun time, more yummy bar food, or their service, I'm sure they'll eventually earn it. =) read more

Typical dive bar. I would recommend Bouzy or HT Grill over this place but if you're looking for a standard bar to watch a football game or hang with a group friends it's an alright place. They have live music on some nights and an upstairs patio where you can smoke. The one thing they DO HAVE is a damn good Greyhound. They have fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. I get that every time I go here. The food is better than an average dive bar. They do bottomless mimosas with breakfast till like 2 I think. Good breakfast, good burgers. Standard service. The waitresses are friendly. Not a bad place overall I just prefer HT Grill or Bouzy more. read more
