Friendly staff. Our server was great & attentive! Onion rings were delicious. Garlic fries, not so much. Drinks flowing... live music was good; they kept the dance floor busy. They need a new restroom situation. 1 stall ain't it! Outhouses in the patio :/

Plenty of TVs to watch all the football! Staff was friendly and kept checking in on my group and refilling our waters and coffees. My food was good, I got a grilled cheese with sriracha fries which was very tasty and the perfect amount of spice. They opened the windows so plenty of fresh air came in which was perfect. Would definitely go back!

A long over due review for me of one of my favorite South Bay haunts. Hennessey's has been around more than 50 years and there is a reason they have been a part of the SouthBay so long. Whether it's Hennessy's Manhattan, Hermosa or Redondo you'll always feel the true vibe of a local Irish pub and that you're among friends. Today after a birthday brunch we headed to Hennessey's Redondo and sat out on the patio for a few cocktails before heading into sit at the bar after the sunset. One of the best things about Hennessy is the freshly squeezed the lemons and oranges for their drinks and they also know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness, which since they do pour the black stuff frequently it's always a fresh pint that tastes more like a proper creamy stout rather than a stale metallic taste, so you always know you're in good hands at Hennessey's. The bartenders are friendly and so is the wait staff. Though for today's visit we didn't eat, you can always get a good breakfast here and a decent burger (which by the way, two for Tuesday's buy a burger get one free is a great deal)!

    Molly the Great

I came in for a beer and somehow left with a therapy session, a life coach, and a new appreciation for humanity. Molly is the kind of bartender who makes you feel like you're the only person in the room--even when the bar is packed and there's a small mountain of dishes somewhere quietly filing a complaint against her. Does she always win Employee of the Month for dishwashing? Absolutely not. If dishes could leave Yelp reviews, they might have some thoughts. But people? People LOVE Molly. She has an uncanny ability to remember your name, ask how your dog is doing, and then somehow get emotionally invested in your answer. Sometimes her heart is so big that her feelings show up before the next round of drinks does. But that's exactly why everyone adores her. She's genuine, caring, and incapable of pretending not to care. As for the beer she poured me? Perfect. Crisp, cold, and delivered with enough enthusiasm to make me feel like I'd just won an award for "Most Deserving Person to Drink This Beer." Molly doesn't just serve drinks--she serves validation, friendship, and occasional emotional support. The dishes may not always be spotless, but somehow everyone leaves feeling like their soul got polished. 10/10. Would happily wait for a clean glass if it means getting served by Molly.

This is my favorite location. I love having breakfast with my neighbors!! This place is open early and I can have a cold beer with my breakfast. The girls who work during the day have always been friendly and welcoming. They know my food and drink order most of the time. They have the best hamburgers, I actually really like the shepherd's pie and the steak and shrimp meal is an amazing deal!!

Wonderful service and ok food. Our server constantly checked up on us and she was incredibly helpful with suggestions or anything we needed. The food itself was just ok... the calamari had a weird kick to it and I might just not like french onion soup but it wasn't for me for sure. Our entrees were pretty good. They live music when we went on a Friday night and the performers were amazing.

I have been critical of Hennessey's in the past; however, lately they have turned it around. Good place for two for one Tuesday. Lively ambiance, good seating outside and inside. The burger of the month is always a good choice with your favorite beverage. Give it a try.

Lively joint, tons of decorations, musica blasting, whistles blowing, etc. Looking good... Promptly seated and greeted by staff. Drink orders placed relatively quickly and delivered not quite as quickly. I thought, "thats ok", as they were a tad busy. Not packed, but busy. Afterwards, I also requested additional chips, which BTW, never arrived... That is where it started a slow roll downhill that quickly spiraled into a steep hill, no brakes situation. After 15 or so minutes, our server, who shall remain anonymous, takes our order. Pretty simple, the camarron tacos for me, fajitas for the wife. They arrive, again about 15 min later so, not too bad. As for the food, I can only speak on behalf of my tacos and I must say, they were very enjoyable. Wifey said the fajitas were "bland and not well seasoned". A very basic "just ok". I only finished two of the three tacos. Then, literally after we had both been finished with our meals and drinks for at least 20 min, our server comes back and asks if we would like anything else. At this point obviously not... And by this time, after having already been there for nearly an hour and a half, (with only 2 hrs in the meter across the street), we called it an evening. Well guess what, pardon the pun but Houdini finally and magically reappears, (after at least another 15 minutes), arriving back with our check and a doggie box. I was gonna pay cash on the bill but due to the denominations in our possession, it would have resulted in a tip much more than he deserved... Ended up with 8 minutes on the meter. We will never come back to this location. I will patronize my preferred location in Pedro...

Apparently, everyone else in the South Bay had the same idea because the place was absolutely humming. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, just be patient. Fortunately, we had reservations and were quickly seated in a roomy table tucked away in the back corner. It turned out to be prime real estate: enough privacy for conversation, but still a great vantage point to take in the entire restaurant. The patio out front might be even better, though, if you're into people-watching. Catalina Avenue on a Friday night offers no shortage of entertainment. But for our group, this table was perfect. The interior has a warm, industrial feel, exposed brick, dark wood, metal accents, garage-style doors, and televisions scattered throughout. Oddly, the Dodgers game wasn't on. Maybe they don't get SportsNet LA. I never bothered to ask because the conversation at our table was far more enjoyable. Let's address the elephant in the room: Friday-night service. The place was packed, and our server was clearly running a marathon. He's usually stationed behind the bar, sports a sleeve of tattoos, looks super fit, and carries a permanent smile. He worked hard all evening, but there were some significant stretches where my Ikasu Ikasu West Coast IPA ($11) sat empty with no rescue in sight. A man can only stare sadly at an empty pint glass for so long. We started with the poutine fries, crispy fries loaded with gravy, skirt steak, mornay sauce, Gruyère, and green onions. They were outstanding and disappeared so quickly that I remembered to take a photo only after the massacre had already occurred, see my picture, LOL. Our server redeemed himself with his entrée recommendation: The Philly. Thinly sliced ribeye, grilled onions, sweet and hot peppers, house sauce, all piled into a sesame roll. It was fantastic, messy, savory, and exactly what you want from a cheesesteak. My wife paired a Harmonia Mango Wheat ($11) with the Blue Cheese Avocado Burger ($20), a hefty seven-ounce burger topped with melted blue cheese, grilled onions, avocado, applewood bacon, and arugula. She was a happy camper. Our friends split the same burger and also ordered the hummus appetizer, adding filet mignon on top. Excellent call, I snuck a few bites! To their credit, at the end of the evening our server came back to the table, apologized for the pacing, and made amends with a complimentary Crafted Cookie: a warm chocolate-chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. At the end of the day, restaurants are about more than perfect timing and topped-off beers. They're about sharing stories, laughing with friends, and breaking bread with people you enjoy being around. The service had its ups and downs, but the food was solid, the atmosphere lively, and Riviera Village on a summer Friday night is hard to beat.

There are so many beers on tap that it's hard to keep count, and that's definitely not a bad thing. I'm partial to West Coast IPAs, and they have several excellent options, but the selection doesn't stop there. You'll find New England IPAs, porters, stouts, and everything in between. One of my personal favorites is the Milagro Nitro Stout. They even have "flavored water" like Modelo for those with questionable taste in beer. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can bring your kids, meet friends, or simply unwind after work. The background music is usually classic rock played at a reasonable volume, so you can actually hold a conversation. Large TVs above the bar typically have sports on, adding to the laid-back vibe. The service is another reason I keep coming back. Both bartenders are absolute class acts--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the beer they serve. Whether you're a craft beer veteran or someone trying something new, they make you feel welcome and are always happy to offer recommendations. The food deserves recognition as well. I've tried a variety of menu items over multiple visits and haven't been disappointed. In fact, I'm genuinely surprised when I see complaints about the food on Yelp. It's literally walking distance from our hotel in Torrance -- so close we actually walked past it the first time without even realizing it was there. Super hidden, easy to miss. The space itself is small, and when you first walk in it doesn't hit you with an over-the-top tiki vibe right away. But once the drinks start coming out, it fully delivers. The glassware is so fun and themed -- I was obsessed with the flamingo cup and actually ended up buying a couple online since I couldn't take the real one home with me. Drink-wise, I stuck mostly to my usual zombie, which has this great earthy, cinnamon-y flavor that's just different from anything else -- does the trick every time (there's a two-drink max/minimum on it, which I respect). We also tried a Makahiki Mua and a Painkiller, both really solid. The Makahiki Mua had a fun flavor, kind of similar to a Painkiller, but the zombie is still my go-to. Service was pretty good overall -- the bartender stayed mostly in one corner of the bar, which actually worked in our favor since we got served fast. A couple of small quirks though: they only have a limited number of menus, so we kept having to pass one back and forth around the bar, which felt a little silly. They also seemed to be running low on drink cups at times, having to wash and rotate them back into use, which was an odd thing to notice at a bar this size. Also wish they had some food or snacks available, even something small -- but that's a minor gripe. Vibe-wise, this is easily one of my favorite tiki lounges I've been to -- doesn't quite topple Broken Compass Tiki for me, but it's up there. Fun, easy, great drinks, solid service despite the small hiccups, and a perfect spot if you're staying in the Torrance area. Would absolutely go back and would recommend it to anyone chasing that tiki lounge crawl.
