Impressed by its outdoor decorations-- really modern and passionate about lobster. shinning sliver background and bright orange lobster at the front door. We came in around 1:30pm Friday, there are still some parking. Walked in and greeted right away and led to a bench table. And the food served really fast after ordering. The waitress helped change plates and refill the lemon tea without asking. The most impressive dish is the pig feet.Crunchy skin without greasy taste, meanwhile the meat off the feet is really juicy and very well seasoned. Also like the shrimp rice noodle, very well flavored and shrimp is juicy as well ( the leftover vermicelli is a bit greasy) . Also the red bean icy drink was great , sweet just about right. I came here for my bday dinner. I often drive by but never realized what kind of restaurant this was. Partially because it used to be like a Hong Kong cafe style place but now it's a fancy Cantonese restaurant. Seating is tight, they really pack a lot of tables and makes hard to move around when it's completely filled with. I made a reservation for 12 and stated we needed 2 highchairs but the seating the gave us was at a corner spot but in-between other seatings and tables. As we tried to move the highchairs around to make the best seating arrangements. Where the originally put the highchairs (outside/walkway part of the table seating) they asked us to move the highchairs into the other sides. Which left us a little annoyed since they originally put the highchairs there. We had to get up and ask the entire family to shift out and over just to accommodate their request.. Mind you, they already sat the other table next to us too, so it was hard not to be a disturbance to them as well. Food was good, but wasn't as mind blowing that I thought it'd be. Maybe because I had high expectations from a few people suggestions, or that I was wanting something else. I was craving Dungeness crab but they didn't have that available and some items on the menu require days notice to preorder so that was a bummer. We did go during lunch time so maybe that might a reason as well. Pretty large Cantonese style seafood restaurant that is known for their giant stir fried lobster with noodles. They show you the live lobster before they cook it. All the dishes were pretty tasty, with the slight negative of serving everything too quickly so all the food starts getting cold before you can get around to eating all of it. I think that's a very normal practice especially at Chinese restaurants. They were really good at refilling the HK style sweet lemon iced tea in the beginning but then as the meal went on, they became too busy and I had an empty glass for a long time. The food is pretty pricey (mostly because of the lobster) but overall it's liked by many Chinese families for celebration meals. read more

I would expect much better service from a restaurant with high prices and Michelin-star status. On Chinese New Year, my brother and I went to the restaurant early in the evening. It was not yet full when we arrived without reservations, and we were seated quickly, which we appreciated. A waiter came over and took our drink order. About ten minutes later, a waitress took our food order: the Wasabi Japanese Style Filet Mignon and the Vietnamese Style Black Pepper Fried Fish with Basil. Unfortunately, that was the last time we saw either of them. About fifteen minutes later, a server brought out only the Japanese Filet Mignon. We were still waiting on the fried fish and rice. After another ten minutes, while trying to get someone's attention, I was finally able to ask a waitress about the missing items. She told us they were coming. Ten minutes later, she brought the rice, but still no fish. The fish arrived about ten minutes after that. Throughout the meal, no one came by to check on us, ask if we needed anything, or see if everything was satisfactory. This was the worst service I have ever received, especially from a restaurant of this caliber. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself in my younger years at several Palm Springs restaurants, I understand how service should be handled. This is one of my favorite places for small family celebratory gatherings that "requires" lobster. It's weird that I haven't reviewed this place after all these year. We went to Henry's this past weekend at 5:30pm and there was no crowd, but it got really crowded at about 6pm so you might want to make a reservation if you want to do normal dinner times. Weird thing with this visit was that many of the dishes we wanted were sold out or not available, waiter said a lot of ingredients were sold out due to Christmas and New Year dining and not having delivery during the holidays. For one, the giant prawn with glass noodle was not available, I would say this dish is a MUST if you come here. They also didn't have the steamed nor fried fish. Luckily when I asked about the lobster, they had it. We decided on the Vietnamese style and added the glass noodles. It was good but I still feel like the jumbo shrimp pot with that noodle was better. The deep fried salted pig feet is another must try. I love that they took off the lumpy fat parts and even cut the meat into small pieces for us. Every piece was the perfect amount of saltiness. As I'm pretty sure many others have mentioned, this place adds 12% to the bill as a tip automatically and you have the option of adding on top of that if you like. I don't see this as a problem. If you don't want to tip a 15, 18 or 20% total you don't have to. But 12% minimum isn't too much to ask for. read more

Came on a Sunday around noon time for lunch to celebrate the lunar New Year. We were seated quickly. Lunch menu is very limited and prices are on the high side ranging between $20-$30/dish. We decided to spurge and ordered the Vietnamese lobster. Market price was $40/lb which is pretty pricey compared to other restaurants. We added noodles for an additional $20. They brought out the lobster to let us see it before cooking it. The smallest they had was 3.75lbs, so just the lobster itself was $200. The lobster was very very tasty. Strong butter, black pepper flavor and slightly sweet. The noodles were very flavorful too. I enjoyed the lobster. We also ordered the drunken chicken, yang chow fried rice, garlic string beans and the German pig knuckle. The drunken chicken was a total miss. The meat didn't have any alcohol flavor. Its like that just added some on top. My fiance said it was pretty good last night so maybe we came on an off day. The garlic string beans were a hit. Nicely fried and lots of garlic flavor. For the German pig knuckle, the meat was very tender but the skin was more on the hard side. Felt like it was reheated. If you come during lunch, it comes with free white rice. They also automatically add 12% gratuity to all checks. Service was great. They refilled our waters numerous times, changed out our plates and help us pack Togo. We ended up paying additional gratuity. The place is pretty loud though so it was hard hearing the person sitting across from you. Their tables are also separated by partitions. Worst experience ever. My mom wasn't feeling well, so she brought a small to-go cup of ginseng water with her. The waitress and the manager (the one with glasses) immediately told us that outside drinks were not allowed. I explained that it was simply water for my mom because she wasn't feeling well, but they still insisted that we remove it from the table and place it on the chair next to us. This was honestly ridiculous. It showed zero flexibility or basic compassion for a guest who clearly wasn't feeling well. If the concern was about the cup spilling, asking us to place it on a chair makes even less sense. If it spilled, were they going to pay for the cleaning? Policies are one thing, but basic human understanding should come first. Very disappointing experience. read more

Oh my goodness, the orange beef here is to die for. If you love food, order this now. Why are you still reading! Okay, fine, so - first of all, this place is called Henry's because two dudes named Henry started it. I love that! They have such a huge menu that it was so hard to pick just a couple of items to try while having lunch with my friend over the weekend. However, we somehow dwindled it down to the orange beef and Viet style filet mignon. And don't get me wrong, the beef in the mignon was succulent and had great flavor to the dish. I'd get it again for sure. But, that orange beef was perfectly deep fried to a crisp crunch when I bit into it that snapped wonderfully between my lips. Plus soundly sweet savor sensations to the sauce with a tinge of spice, perfectly perfect over rice. I would describe the overall style as modern homestyle Cantonese cooking. But it deviates even from that in the best ways possible with so many options. Every dish at Henry's sounds so scrumptious. We went with a large party to celebrate a birthday. Food was very uneven: the lobster and shrimp were good, but others were just OK (three cup chicken) or even quite poor (the water vegetable and mapo tofu). We had a mix of older Taiwanese who wanted dishes the restaurant is known for, and others who had different tastes.. Also, they forgot 2 dishes. We informed them after we were done eating--they were starting to clear the table after they brought dessert. We said they could just be cancelled because dinner was over. They went into the kitchen and when they came back they said they had already started cooking them. What coincidental timing! After 5-10 min they brought the two dishes anyway (!). Poor service and likely an outright lie. Why wait until after dessert to bring out two savory dishes? First time here after visiting SGV for many years. This is definitely a local hidden gem. Well deserved Michelin guide! Came on Saturday night with 7 people, wait was around 45min walk in at 530pm. They take reservations via phone but we could not get one in time. Food was amazing, lots of wok hei, authentic flavors and fresh veggies and seafood. They brought out our lobster ($36/lb) to our table before preparing it. We had it Vietnamese style with basil and it was incredible. Also highly recommend the vermicelli/mei fun. The lobster is tasty, service is quite good. Food comes out promptly, as we've never had a problem. Space is tight as the layout isn't conducive to all those large tables. Parties of less than 6 would likely sit in a booth, which isn't very Chinese dinner like, especially for the amount of money spent here. Floors are also greasy and slippery from all the frying they do. People come for the lobster, and most of their other dishes are also very good. However, I have to say that this isn't traditional Cantonese food as everything here is fried with heavy flavors. Salty, spicy, peppery. Even their walnut shrimp is deep fried with heavy batter served with the mayo dipping sauce on the side instead of tossed in. A Cantonese seafood restaurant would also have more dishes with fresh delicate flavors on the menu, but Henry's doesn't. read more

Come here for their lobster! We got it Vietnamese style with added vermicelli noodles and it was one of the best lobster dishes I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked and super flavorful. It was $36/lb (as of March 2025) and their lobsters tend to weigh about 4lbs. We also got mapo tofu, sauteed clams with basil, stir fry pea shoots (dou miao), and their egg puff. I would not order any of these again; it was all below average or average. They lacked flavor and the egg puff texture is more cakey rather than having a little chew (this may just be a preference but I enjoy the texture from Happy Lemon and Eggettes). I would definitely come back, but just for the lobster. We had to wait around 5-10 minutes on a Sunday at peak lunch time. Service can be improved. Our food did not come out in a timely manner. Lobster came out first (15 minutes after ordering) and the next dish came out by the time we finished the lobster (about 45 minutes after ordering). When we asked where the rest of our order was and they said the kitchen got busy. Finally, it was another 10-15 minutes before our final 2 orders came. I think they could improve on their order fulfillment process to make for a better dining experience because I would have liked to eat everything altogether, not separately. read more
