Tripe was alright but not flavorful. The lotus sticky rice was mushy and had three meat pieces the size of my finger tip. Came with family on a weekday for lunch when you get a slight discount on the dim sum. This time we sat in the side room where it was quieter and can still see into the main dining room and the colorful clips running on the walls. Took my family here for dim sum and it's become my favorite in the entire 626. I love that they have my favorite hard-to-find items like the almond tea with puff pastry and rice rolls with braised beef. The best part? It's all done well, authentically, and is super tasty. The hao gao and siu mai come in gigantic portions that I ended up having to share in order to try all the items, so they're great value. Of the 10+ dishes, not one was a miss. I came here for a multi--occasion private party. Cons: The outside looked dated and the women's restroom was beyond disgusting. Pros: The inside was beautiful, our private room was very nice and the food was good. You can park in the Longo restaurant parking lot or on the street. Note: This quick to-go spot is cash only Portions are good and service is quick. The place can get busy during peak hours Wanted to pick up something quick for lunch and Longo bbq was nearby. Inside is pretty typical for this type of food. There's an assortment of veggies and proteins where you can order a ala carte or as a lunch combo plate. They also have dim sum options if you're looking to pick any up. Prices are pretty good, a ala carte runs about $8 I think for a large and 2 item combos are $9-10. Spent $19 for a large portion of fried pork chop (forgot to take a picture) and a 2 item combo with Char siu and roasted pork To be honest, I probably have a better experience with this place mainly due to the fact that I went early where everything was still fresh. Might be different later in the day for food items that may have been sitting for a while. One thing I do like about all of the items we ordered was that they were not overly salted. Some might think it's bland, but I enjoy the light flavoring. The roasted pork was done well, just enough fattiness to give flavor. Same with fried porkchop. The veggies that come with the combo plate was fresh, well cooked The negative would probably be the char siu, where I just think it needed more flavor or sauce. We arrived towards the end of their service near the 3:00 PM break, and usually, at that time, you're usually getting rushed to leave, but the staff here was incredibly patient and let us enjoy our meal at our own pace. Dimsum we got: Char Siu Sou: This was the absolute highlight. The pastry was incredibly flaky and buttery, and the honey glaze on top gave it that authentic sweet-and-savory balance that is hard to find. Bean Curd Roll: Expertly prepared. The skin held its texture beautifully against the savory sauce, and the filling tasted remarkably fresh. Lo Mai Gai (Sticky Rice): The lotus leaf fragrance was deeply infused into the rice, which was moist and packed with a generous amount of filling. If you want to eat Alaskan King crab, then IMO, then Longo is my hands down choice in the SGV. Prepared 3 ways, deep fried with minced garlic, steamed with clear noodle, and in a cold fruit salad, all 3 methods are divine. We ordered the usual dim sum staples and added one special item, the imperial cold chicken. That dish was the standout. Super flavorful, tender, and honestly the highlight of the meal. Everything else we ordered was solid and hit the spot. The food overall was really good. Ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a classic Chinese restaurant. Loud, busy, and energetic. You can still hold a conversation, but you'll need to raise your voice a bit. Now the downside. Service was lacking. We had to refill our own teapot and grab our own to-go boxes. No real attentiveness, and compared to other dim sum spots nearby, the service here falls short. Parking is convenient. They have a small free lot plus free street parking, which is always a plus. Yum! This places's dim sum is legit!! They seemed promising when i scoped out their smaller side shop for togo orders on the left of the restaurant. When my acupuncture office next door confirmed, "they're pretty good!", i decided to give em a try: chicken feet, spare ribs, 2 deep fried meat dumplings, and a sesame ball all for $13.77 including tax! The lady, considering the place, was actually pretty friendly, enthusiastic, and patient with all my questions. As someone who's been to a decent number of dim sum places and raised by parents who were from Hong Kong, we came in with a lot of expectation. Unfortunately this place fell short of those expectations. This restaurant is HUGE but don't fret, there's a big parking lot behind so I assume it gets packed usually. The inside was also very glamorous: high ceilings, decorative tables, and a huge screen showing different Chinese cooking videos. It was super nice inside, definitely good for hosting weddings/private events/large gatherings. My family and I ordered the following items: 1. BBQ Pork Bun 2. Har Gao 3. Chicken feet 4. Sticky Rice Wrap with meat 5.Charcoal egg yolk bun 6. Jumbo shiu Mai 7. Cheung fan We thought the food was decent but not as good as Seafood Harbour. The only interesting dish was the charcoal egg yolk bun as it was sweet and warm on the inside. I thought the shiu mai was a little hard even though it was jumbo, but it didn't taste good. First and foremost, obvious Health & Safety violations and related Cal Codes for restaurants are hard to ignore. California Retail Food Code (CalCode) § 114173 (and related sections) mandates that all equipment and storage containers be elevated at least six inches off the floor - clearly visible from the dining area. Also, no soap and no hot running water in the restrooms is another violation. Pretty obvious conditions that can be corrected, but I don't see it happening here. Additionally, there's a serious LA County fire code violation in which the rear-most occupancy section of the restaurant has its exit doors blocked and sealed off with a faux wall covering. An "Exit" sign is lit above those blocked doors, but it is not an obvious exit way as material is the same as the adjoining wall. A fire at midpoint to this portion of the restaurant will effectively block escape for at least 20-30 people that could potentially be trapped here. Other than that, I should mention the Honey Walnut prawns plate and spicy green bean plate are both pretty darn tasty. Okay, maybe I'll change this to 2-stars. read more

If I could give Negative stars, I would. We arrived and NOBODY was dining there. Even the Host was sitting in a chair, slouched over sleeping. I tried to take a pic, but then he woke up. (Short chubby guy w/ glasses) We sat at a table and looked over their menu. Eventually, more people arrived to dine for dinner. But then, nobody came to see if we were ready to order. Had to call the Host/Server over. We ordered Soup and 4 dishes for two people. Obviously, too much food, but we like variety. The soy sauce chicken was recommended, but wasn't very appetizing looking not tasted good. The soup was bland. We ordered duck and did not have an opportunity to eat it cuz we tried to eat the chicken and the lobster w/ noodles. My son's favorite dish is sweet & sour pork but they didn't have it here, but they did have sweet & sour ribs. I didn't eat any. Anyways, we ask for the check and for our leftovers to be boxed. Literally, another 15-20 minutes had passed I went to use the ladies room and on my way back to our table, there looked to be a plate of roast duck. Untouched. Eventually the server came back with a bag of our boxed up leftovers. There were 4 boxes plus a soup container, so okay I guess we have all of our leftovers...until, my son got home from work the next day and prepared to eat the leftovers. Shocked to see the there was duck bones only like the neck bone, back etc... but no pieces with breast meat and no drumstick or wing drummette. Where's our food?! I called the restaurant and originally the guy who answered the phone, not only refused to give me their name denied not giving us out leftovers, but said fine - come in and they'll give us a replacement for the roast duck. My son goes the next day and they declined to give him anything and humiliated him for even suggesting a replacement. The manager also refused and asked who authorized it- again, no one would give me their name when I called. My son left disappointed. I call again the next day and spoke to the manager and a staff person. They all claim that the cameras would show that food was being boxed. Really? How do I know that's my food being boxed and not another tables food. Does the camera zoom in? Either way, both the manager and staff were extremely rude, refused to apologize for any confusion, misunderstanding or anything whatsoever. Instead, yelled at me for accusing them of not packing my foot. I know if I got my full order of duck vs a bunch of bones. And the food and service wasn't even very good!! Don't go! From what I heard from an inside source, many times the chef isn't working and the wait staff does the cooking to fill in. read more

This is one of my go-to family dim sum spots. There are many tables and smaller rooms for a more private setting. Their portions are generous while also affordable. The food comes quickly but it can get pretty busy during the afternoon. My favorite is their sui mai, it is packed with shrimp and mushrooms. read more

I like how the place doesnt feel so crowded, in terms of table spacing and maneuvering around. Their shu mai and har gow were some of my favorite I've had. A Cantonese client of mine recommended Longo for dim sum. It's also in the Michelin Guide as a good value "Bib Gourmand" restaurant. She warned me that the service here is "questionable" and that means the restaurant would be authentic. Even at lunch on Friday, there was a bit of a wait and the parking lot and restaurant was packed full of Chinese including Chinese seniors which is a very good sign (to me). Set your service expectations very low. No one checks in on you. It's a typical authentic Chinese restaurant where you will be flagging down people for service and packing your own leftovers. You won't find push carts here as everything comes fresh from the kitchen. The prices are higher here for dim sum. Probably around $7-$10 each. That's probably the going rate now if you're not getting dim sum at a takeout spot. I loved the shrimp rice noodle rolls and the shumai. The durian pastry was delicious and delivered on durian flavor, but was oddly not sweet. The Portuguese egg tarts were perfectly flakey. I would probably not order their smashed cucumbers in chili oil again as I can make that at home. I was just curious because I ordered it at double the price at a vegan spot, Little Saint, by Michelin SingleThead up north in Healdsburg. I would skip the scallop dumplings next time as I would rather have ordered another round of the shrimp rice noodle rolls. It's on the same level or close to the shrimp rice noodle rolls at Tam's Noodle House. I would recommend coming when they first open to avoid the wait. If you can't find parking in their lot, there's street parking in the neighborhood. Set your expectations low for service and be patient if they forget your order as they forgot to deliver my Portuguese egg tarts at the end. Portion is big, food is not salty. Take advantage of the promotions. You can only choose one special. If you want more than one, then expect to pay the regular price for the second or more. Service is good. Parking is plenty. Food came out super fast. Server keeps changing plates continuously. Tea, peanuts, water and even mung bean soup sweet dessert are all complimentary for dinner. Not so for lunch dim sum. . Big place. Big wall size TV. At least 5 big private dining rooms. Menu is abundant. I've eaten dim sum here a few times before writing a review. I occasionally come on a sunday to eat with friends or family. Parking is a hassle because there's not that much space. I get the traditional dim sums like chicken feet, ha gao, siu mai, pork ribs, egg tarts, cheung fun especially the shrimp ones, veggie and shrimp dumplings, and their pineapple creamy egg yolk bun. Consistency wise, this restaurant is all over the place. I've had really fresh tasty dimsum, and also dimsum with sour/expired shrimp. The main reason I come back is simply the pineapple creamy egg yolk bun and egg tarts. Im a sucker especially for that pineapple bun. It has a nice dusty egg top with a soft bun while the inside is a super strong and sweet egg yolk cream. It is nearly the ultimate dessert to finish dimsum, just being slightly behind flaky crust egg tarts that hold a special place in my heart. Overall, food is average. There are some things on the menu that are tasty but food quality and consistency is all over the place. It's a random draw whether you will feel sick after eating or feel like you dined in heaven. I'm still coming back though, so I would still recommend trying this place at least once. read more
