Came here for lunar new year for yum cha and dim sum. Was not aware they do NOT do dimsum carts here. You order on the sheet and they bring it out for you FYI. Super busy and they seated us near the entry way so that was a downside already. We got here at 11:56am tell me why we ordered small dishes of 8 and still was 2 dishes missing by 1pm -.- Dimsum was good but def not cool of you are in a rush. I love the good ol style of the carts. The waiters were kind and empathetic with all guests. The seaters and management were kinda brash and rude.

I start off my new year with a wedding banquet at this restaurant. Overall, the dining experience is good. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. We have a total of 10 dishes with different types of dishes, including but not limited to lobster, steamed fish, Chinese bbq, shrimp with honey walnut, etc. However, to find a parking space at this restaurant was a pain. I arrived early and was able to score the last empylty slot.

We went tonight to celebrate my mom's birthday. We booked a private room and there was a $600 minimum charge for the private room. The room was nice and service was excellent. We had two wait staff serving us We ordered fish soup with crab meat, peiking duck, steamed chicken, tofu with veggies, steamed red snapper, lobster with noodles, filet mignon, clams with basil and soft taro with lotus seeds for dessert. They gave us complimentary lotus-shaped birthday baos. All the food was delicious! Free parking lot outside.

The service was slow and left a lot to be desired. As soon as we sat down, we filled out our order and handed it to one of the workers walking around since no one checked in on us to grab our order paper. Our plates, cups, and chopsticks were all stacked prior to us sitting down, and we realized we needed one more set of a plate, chopsticks, a tea cup, and the condiments (soy sauce, vinegar, sauté). My mom got up to flag one of the staff down for the extra plate and utensil because they barely walked past our table after we ordered. We ordered 8 different dim sum plates and it took 1.5 hours to get through lunch. Each plate went out separately, at least 5-10 minutes apart. As soon as we finished the plate, the lady who cleans up the tables would come over to clear the empty plate almost immediately and my family would sit around waiting for the next one. I looked around the dining room and other tables had several dim sum plates on their Lazy Susan. It was a very odd experience as to why we had to wait on each dish at a time.

This is my family's go to place for lobster noodles. It's always a hit. Their crab sticky rice is good too. They give you a whole crab in there with the head. I always love the head roe. My son likes the fish maw soup. It's traditional and solid. We also really like the scallop bean curd tofu dish. It comes with veggies and is delish. We usually just get take out which is fairly quick. They also sealed all their food (think boba cup seals) so it's great for travel. However, I have dined in on many occasions and service here is what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant. Some days are good, some days are eh but it is what it is and they get the job done. They've never been rude. I've been here for dim sum before too and it's got its standard dim sum dishes. They get busy so dim sum days is usually a wait. The restaurant itself is large. You can host two banquets at the same time or buy out the whole restaurant for one huge banquet. I always remember coming to banquets here for my dad's club when he was still around so it'll always hold a special place. There are two parking lots so it's usually not an issue despite being in a plaza with several other places.

We just attended a wedding reception dinner at 888 Seafood Restaurant in Rosemead a few days ago. We haven't been there for dim sum or a banquet dinner for quite a while. This restaurant has been around for a long time. 888 Seafood Restaurant provides delicious Cantonese food such as dim sum, family dinner, and banquet dinner. We had the following 10 delicacy dishes that night: 1. Roasted Suckling Pig (Half)- eye-catching, big golden plate presentation with delicious roasted suckling pig and jellyfish. Thumbs up. 10/10 2. Pan-Fried Shrimp with Imperial Clam - another delicious dish with big and delicious shrimp. Even the veggies were sweet and fresh. 10/10 3. Deep-fried scallop wrapped with bacon - I'm a scallop lover. These giant deep-fried scallops tasted so flavorful. I could eat the giant scallop without the bacon wrapped. The bacon flavor and the sauce were a bit too strong, but I still liked this dish. 9/10 4. Imperial fish maw soup - my favorite soup! I had two bowls of fish maw soup that night because my daughters did not like it. 9/10 5. Braised Abalone with Dried Scallop Flavor- Each guest had one good-sized braised abalone, a total of 10 pieces, and it was delicious. The veggies and mushrooms were also tasted great. The flavor was on point. 10/10 6. Deep-Fried Chicken with Mashed Shrimp - The presentation was nice, and they looked like deep-fried chicken, but actually, they were all mashed shrimp but covered with deep-fried chicken skin on the top. Very interesting and unique dish. However, we thought it was mediocre. 7/10 7. House Special Lobster - A little disappointed that the lobster did not have much meat, and it was not baked lobster with green onion and ginger cooking method. The taste was flavorful, but we hoped that the lobster had more meat. 8/10 8. Steamed whole fish - The fish was of a good size. However, it lacked a bit of flavor. 8/10 9. House Special Seafood Fried Rice - The Seafood fried rice could be better because it did not have much shrimp or scallop inside. The taste was a bit bland and lacked flavor. 7/10 10. Exquisite Dessert - Some people may not like the dessert, but I liked it. 8/10 Overall, we enjoyed this banquet dinner a lot, and we all cleared the dishes. Only the deep-fried chicken with mashed shrimp and seafood fried rice were not our favorites. The service was okay, could be better.

This a longstanding restaurant but the food here nowadays is okay compared to the many of the other plethora of Cantonese/dim sum places in SGV. I had dinner here and I guess my favorite dish was the deep fried egg bean curd.

888 offers a fully loaded of Dim Sum classic items from Ha Gow, Su Mai, Lo Mai Gai, Utnio cake, custard bun, etc. Staff were attentive and helpful despite speaking very little English. Ambiance is bright, airy and full of tables, private rooms and TVs. Come early for great parking, otherwise, you will have to wait to get a table. Highly recommended for authentic and delicious Dim Sum!

Enjoyed the meal at a dinner party tonight. Especially enjoyed the shrimp salad. So refreshing! Loved the sweet chili dressing. All the courses were good and well flavored while not too salty. Had not been here for a while. Great space for a dinner, karoake and dancing! For a dinner party of 14 tables, service was really good! They even provided extra chopsticks for serving and were good about refilling the ice bucket.

Ok, so I haven't been there for at least a decade. This was one of my parents dim sum rotation when I was a kid. I was there for a banquets Pro: love they can divide up the room. Excellent karaoke machines and big screen. Con: I am bit disappointed with the food quality. The noodles was not the E-min( spelling?) that it was supposed to be. It tasted like spaghetti. That's what they would use at those Chinese fast food places. It should not be used here! The lobster, it was ok, it did have the wok-hay! I had fun because we were able to do karaoke and brought our own mahjong to play. Service was good. Waiters were quick. I really wish the food was better.

Food: 2.5/5 Service: 2.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Wait time for food: 1/5 Salty fish with chicken fried rice: 5/5 Roasted duck: 2/5 Shui Mai: 4/5 Those are the dishes that stand out among other food that I ordered. I arrived with my family around 10:30 am on Sunday. Parking was ok. We got seated right away also. I know what kind of service I would get from this type of restaurant but they are on the next level bad. I asked for 3 hot sauce and I got one. Later on I asked again and I got another one. Waiting time for food is ridiculously long. It should not take this long for dim sum dishes. I m talking about classic items such as shui mai. I waited about 15 to 20 minutes to get some items. We were hungry and decided to order roasted duck and fried rice. Roasted duck came out quick but it has weird flavors, I don't know if it's old or just originally bad. The place used to be good back in the day but it's going downhill with service and taste. I see that they have plenty of tables filled so, maybe we might just come on bad day. I will not repeating anytime soon and recommend to stay away.

    Anny O.

Honey walnut shrimp 4/5 - good and shrimp pieces were pretty big. Nothing special, just standard Abalone mushroom 2-5 - this was extremely fishy tasting. Wouldn't recommend. The abalone was probably old Peking duck 2/5 - not the best Peking duck. Could've had more meat on the duck and crispier skin Lobster 4/5 - good lobster dish. Lots of onion so really good flavor. Lobster was pretty easy to peel off the shell

    No Dim Sum on Saturday?

    There's dim sum on Saturday

Do they still do the dim sum service carts?

Sadly, no. Covid closed the restaurant, like all others, and killed the traditional ala Cart delivery method. Now you order from the menu and it is brought to your table by your server. Not the same personal interaction like before. So sad.

How much is the turkey this year (2022)?

    $68

Does anyone know for sure if they are letting dine in services? Outdoor or indoor? Thanks!

Indoor dining is back open (:

Do they still have cart service?

    Yes they do.

How much are the various price levels of dim sum as I did not see any recent price lists on the photo section?

I am looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant. There is a foreign exchange Chinese student here and I'd like to bring her to an authentic place. Would you guys say this is a good one?

It really depends on what part of China your foreign exchange student is from. If she's from Guangdong Province, the dim sum will be familiar to her because that's the province where dim sum is from. Dim sum in America is still different from that… Read more

When is dim sum served (on a day of the week basis)?

Dim sum is served daily until 3pm.

Is dim sum served all day?

What are the prices for the dim sum dishes? I can't seem to find it in any of the pictures, tips or reviews.

I heard about their AYCE dim sum promo but that actually made me not want to come because I knew the wait would've been very long, and I hate waiting for a table just to eat. Fast forward to tonight and a suggestion was made to try the $14.88 dinner special at Bistro 1968. Here's my honest review of my experience. * Parking - Self parking behind the restaurant. I came on a Monday night dinner time , and there was only 2 cars in the entire lot. The parking lot was very creepy as it was't too well lit. I could see the kitchen from the structure because the backdoor was left opened. There were boxes and junk littered around the area. * You have to walk through a long hallway from the parking lot to get to the restaurant. There are signs to guide you, but if you're going there for the first time, it could be a bit confusing. * We got there at 7pm and there was only 1 table of customers. I honestly don't know how to describe the decor because it depends on which part of restaurant you're looking at. * Staff were all VERY nice. They gave us free dessert (Egg Tarts and Pineapple Buns) so that was awesome. * Food - I ordered the Fried Fish but it wasn't fully cooked. Some parts were still raw so it had a fishy taste. We ate a few pieces but left most of it untouched. Everything else was pretty much okay except for its temperature - it was lukewarm. Nothing was piping hot except for the steamed Pork Spareribs from their all day dim sum menu. * There were some small gnats that kept flying around and when one actually landed in my food, I just stopped eating altogether. * No alcohol available but definitely not a huge deal. Their staff are so nice that I actually feel bad about not writing a positive review about the establishment, but I really just don't see how I am able to rate it any higher than 2 stars. I don't think I will be coming back.

The skin was so chewy too. Delicious! -#25 black sesame with red bean paste was so fresh! It was crisp and chewy without feeling too heavy from the oil, if you stop at one that is haha -#6 siu mai was also so jam packed with meat and juicy! Still worth mentioning that the turnip cake was delicious in flavor but just not a highlight because it was on the mushier side. I'd still get it again though! Also, my partner really enjoyed the congee. I didn't try it though. Areas that can be improved: -the lotus sticky rice was a little lacking in flavor and meat. -the Cheung fun although had generous amounts of shrimp, it lacked bounce in the rice noodle. Maybe because it was cold by the time we ate it. -to reduce paper consumption, I recommend using laminate dry erase for the menus so they can be reused. Just an idea/suggestion! Not bad, not bad!! Truly was a surprise tbh. We were in the SGV area so wanted to eat something…read moretasty and found this on Yelp. A great find indeed! Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. Service was really fast, got seated quick and they were fast to take our orders which was crazy at first but they were on it with service so I appreciated that. Even the food came out pretty fast. Saw that the Beef Noodle Soup was good so I had to try it, the beef broth was delicious and I love bok choy so they had me at bok choy! Beef was nicely cooked too, I liked it! Dan Dan noodles were okay and it felt like it was spicy peanut butter but still good, just not my favorite. But the pork dumplings (xiao long bao) was YUMMY. It really hit the spot when we grabbed one each and the warmth and taste was delicious. Definitely my favorite! Pork and crab dumplings were good too! I was just too full at that point to have more of it all. I'd say this place satisfied my hunger and I left there super full so I'll comeback again :)

Service is quick and polite and happy with the level of attention to ensure we were all set to dine! Around dinner time had no wait The inside is full of bright red and complimented with black which made it more lively and modern. New spot to enjoy more frequent!
