Very average uptown neighborhood dive bar. Sure you can get a cold beer served by a bartender with attitude, but in spite of what earlier reviewers or the note from the owner on their Yelp page says (see screenshot below), they do NOT have "poor boys, gourmet burgers, chicken sandwiches" or food of any kind, unless there happens to be a pop up on the sidewalk. Even their website touts the amazing food, but don't you dare ask the bartender for a food menu. Trust me! Too many amazing bars in New Orleans to put up with mediocrity.

Solid spot on Magazine to pop in for a reasonably priced drink or beer. They have a juke box and some outdoor seating, and lately they have some pretty great food pop ups, too. Restrooms are always clean (a huge plus). And they put out candy - the good stuff- for bar snacks! I know they have karaoke at night, but I always seem to end up here in the daytime.

Great neighborhood bar that currently has one of the best chefs in the city running the kitchen. We had the burger which is char-grilled and excellent as well as the bang bang shrimp which is actually better than the original at Bone Fish Grill. Too bad no parades this year because this would be a great place to watch the start of parades.

    2 bucks!

Nice neighborhood place. I've been here several times. CASH ONLY! They have an ATM. They have a Sangria special, but it's mostly a shot and beer place. Domestic bottles are 2 bucks opening till 7pm for happy hour, then goes up to $2.50. Great price for nola. Small place, couple of tables. Outside tables. Game room in back, carry out food adjoining. (Big Cheesy) WARNING!! Men's room is tiny.. my shoulders almost touch the walls. There is a sink to wash your hands when you come out of the washroom and walk behind the bar. But, seeing as how it's been open in the same spot since 1900, understandable. Also, the same family has owned it since then (4 generations)!! When I want to watch some sports, have some beers, shoot the shit with neighborhood folks, I come here. I havent seen too many tourists in here, even though it's on Magazine. Bartenders are friendly, it's clean. Can't go wrong. Street parking.

They were so good! For dessert we had the brownie and the butter cake! The butter cake was amazing! The brownie a bit dry. I think the brownie would've been much better with ice cream. However, all in all the food was 10 out of 10 would recommend! As for drinks, we tried just about everything on the menu, and I would highly recommend anything with gin in it! While the food was amazing, the service was a bit slow... As this was my first time, that's what I can say. However, I was visiting family who has been here multiple times and they were surprised by the slow service. So my assumption is that it is not slow service typically. Our waitress was awesome and very polite! I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant! We were sat outside. I enjoyed the outdoor lighting and the music they were playing. Some might think the music was too loud, but I thought it was perfect! Would I recommend this place to other others? YES! I will be going back!

This was some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time…read more I ordered the steamed crabs. As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. They were large and charred to perfection on the outside grill, topped with parm and breadcrumbs. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing.
