I wanted to try their tea so I opted for the Red Blossom Milk tea which was a simple milk tea. I gotta say the flavor was quite unique and I enjoyed it. Heytea is wildly popular in China and had been proliferating in the US. I first had it in NYC and was hooked. I could have an endless supply of coconut mango booms and never get tired of that drink. I never really cared about the esthetic, although it was nice to escape the heat in the various Heytea locations all over the city, plus it always strongly smelled of jasmine tea, so I did enjoy actually drinking my drink in store every once in awhile. Mostly, I'm grabbing it to go and scarfing it down within minutes. I'm sad there's not as many locations in SoCal where I live but hope that changes soon. The demand is there! I'm so happy there is a Hey Tea in Irvine! I used to frequent the Rowland Heights one but it shows "closed" on Yelp now, sad. Just got their milk tea the other day. I'd say this place is pretty good. I'd come back here if I'm craving milk tea. But between this place and Omomo I'm not sure which one is better. But that's a compliment because I had long considered Omomo the best milk tea place in town. Now theres competition. I've had Heytea in Singapore before and really liked it! Really happy to have it again in the US. :') I arrived around 3:45pm on a Monday afternoon. It wasn't very busy so I ordered on the kiosk and my drink came out a few minutes later. They also have an app you can preorder ahead of the time which is nice. I ordered the cloud coconut blue and it's so good! I love the matcha foam they used and the drink had a nice coconut flavor. It also wasn't too sweet which is good for my taste. Came here to see if the hype was real and I'm really glad I did. Even though the lines are always ridiculously long out the door, both times I've came so far it's a very quick process to order and receive your drink. So far I've tried the coconut mango boom, strawberry boom, green grape boom, and cloud coconut blue. Each one was surprisingly good, but my favorite is the coconut mango boom which reminds me of mango sticky rice dessert. You probably could order online, as it seemed that most people came to the store with their orders already made. My wife likes their Mango Grapefruit Boom, which has Mango, Grapefruit, and Coconut milk. I went with a Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. Their default settings are for mild sweetness; however, for me, I would have preferred things more "regular sweet". For my wife's fruit drink, most of the sweetness came naturally from the fruits. Overall, I felt that it was an okay experience. The "default" flavoring of the drinks was less sweet than I'd prefer, tea quality was average, the wait times were long (unless you order ahead of your arrival), and prices were higher than average. read more

have yet to have a poor experience at any heytea. this was my first time trying this location since the other irvine one was out of mango. we ordered online and drinks were ready within 15-20 minutes despite lots of other orders at the time (full store). we all got the same drink, the coconut mango boom, a fan favorite. the only minor upset i had was that they had chunkier/firmer coconut pieces (in addition to the normal pieces) than i've had at any other location i've ever tried and i can't say it was very desirable compared to the alternative. i like this location's interior, especially with the seating. all previous ones have had either seating for waiting, but not really for lingering and working like this one did. otherwise, other locations tend to have none at all. parking is not a huge issue due to the parking lot, but we went on a weds at around 4p so I doubt that's a typical busy time. read more

Got myself a Green Grape Boom and Coconut Mango Boom. The green grape was expected to be sour and refreshing, in my case it was sweet, a bit sour, with bitter aftertaste. LOVE Heytea - my new favorite boba place. It smells amazing inside because the Jasmine tea is so fragrant. I love the longjing milk tea that most boba shops here don't have - a deeper kind of tea flavor. I also tried the Tiramisu Milk Tea for the Twinkle twinkle Collab. I don't usually go for dessert teas but this one was surprisingly good! The only downside is that the wait often takes a long time because it's a very popular business. I am a big fan of Heytea, especially their coconut mango boom. Their green grape boom is also delicious. There's always a huge line whenever I pass by it or whenever I go, so I would advise to order on the app (which is so neat and reliable) for pickup. The line doesn't always go by quickly, but I think it's worth the wait. There's no seating and it's primarily a to-go place where you can order on the kiosk. They definitely need to expand and open up more locations (Cerritos.. pls) so I don't have to drive all the way to Irvine lol. read more

They're a popular chain originating from China and they're know for having innovative drinks and absolutely amazing branding! I got their Grape Boom which is essentially a grape-flavored slushy with fruit bits at the bottom. Grape is one of my favorite fruits, however, grape flavored things tend to miss the mark for me. This was not one of those times! The grape flavor tasted fresh, natural, and not too sweet. The fruit bits at the bottom were actual halved grapes too! A really nice touch. Didn't love this spot... To order, you can either use the touch screen menu/kiosk (they only have one) or you can scan the QR code and order on your phone (I didn't do this but I would probably say this is the better option). The flaws start here because the location of the kiosk, at least the time of day when I went, was perfectly in the sunlight so it was extremely hard to see the screen. I can see how this can start a line to build up, as it may take a long time for some people to order. It also sits up pretty tall, so I had to stand on my toes to try and see the items at the top. Just not a great user experience in my opinion. I ordered the Coconut Mango Boom and it was really tasty. The mango was very fresh and delicious, although whatever they use to sweeten their drinks still tasted artificial (even though I chose the alternative option). Lastly, the service was so bland. Nobody said anything the entire time I was there except for calling out numbers. There was no customer service experience here at all. Inside is very bland as well, there's not a single seat so it's definitely a grab & go spot. Kind of a bummer there's nowhere to sit outside either. Everytime I go to Irvine I get HeyTea because I love them. My absolute go to is the Cloud Crisp Grape, minimal sugar. I get it every time. It's a refreshing slush and creamy with the foam. I also love their supreme bobo milk tea. It's super duper creamy as well and their boba has always been fresh. Recently I tried the cloud coconut blue. It was okay, I felt like the coconut flavor could have been stronger. The matcha foam was delicious though. I also did not like the Yumberry as much as grape. I initially came for the one-day BOGO pistachio jasmine tea promotion and waited in line for about an hour. Near the front, a staff member came out and told us the pistachio tea was completely sold out and the promotion was no longer available. For a limited, one-day event, there really should have been a firm cutoff earlier to avoid having customers wait that long with no chance of getting the drink. It was extremely disappointing and a big waste of time. That said, I want to update this review because the store manager, Hyde, reached out afterward and handled the situation thoughtfully and professionally. He acknowledged the issue and invited me back to try the pistachio drinks on the house, which I appreciated. Customer service after the fact was handled well, and I respect the effort to make things right. After returning, I tried the pistachio jasmine tea with bobo. The pistachio flavor was rich but well-balanced, not overly sweet, and the jasmine tea was fragrant and smooth. The boba had a great chewy texture and tasted fresh, which really elevated the drink. Sad this took over Yifang, but finally got to try Heytea here in the US! I tried it in China and thought the boba was pretty good, although it seems like their fruit drinks are best here. I ordered the coconut mango boom with half sugar and I was afraid it was gonna be a long wait when I saw the line. There's no restroom here so I went out to go find a restroom while waiting for my order lol. By the time I came back, it was already sitting on the counter oop. Few sips in, the drink was really good! It tastes like the ingredients they used for this drink are very fresh and I enjoy all the little textures in this drink that makes it more fun. Tried HeyTea when we were in Singapore and loved the fruit tea drinks they offered. I was excited to see one in the Irvine area when we visited the area. First location in US that I have tried. There was a line when I got there but the line moved quickly. Next time around will order on the app and it will be faster. My favorites are Crisp Grape Boom and Fluffy Cloud Crisp Grape. I ordered Crisp Grape Boom in Irvine but was a little disappointed as the grape was not blended well at all compared the one I had in Asia. Perhaps they are new and needed to work on the consistency.
