Of course this isn't a fancy schmancy restaurant by any means, but it definitely satisfied my craving for hibachi and left me with a full stomach and wallet! For $10, I tried the shrimp and chicken hibachi. It was exactly what I expected. The chicken was really flavorful while the shrimp was only so so. I enjoyed the veggies, but wish the carrots had been just a little sweeter. Ordering online was a little confusing and I messed up my order and got white rice instead of the fried but it was still delicious. Their white sauce is really on point in terms of flavor (a bit runnier than others that I've had though). I like that they aren't stingy and give you really big cups of sauce and extra at no additional charge if you need it. I ordered on the app and my food was ready for pickup in about ten minutes which was really great even though it had originally quoted me a later time. All in all, not bad hibachi in the brier creek area. My normal go to spot is in Durham, but this place is almost just as good for the price! read more

While it's not the most amazing hibachi ever. Im giving it 5 stars for several reasons. The customer service is great The staff is nice It's clean The portions are really good for the price. The white sauce is yummy My favorite place was closed down and now they only do catering. Hibachi 101 is a close second. I can't believe I never ate here till now. I used to work next door when I was younger. I think this place got better because I don't remember their food being this good. I always get hibachi chicken. It's about $7. That's cheaper than the other hibachi places on Glenwood. The only thing I wish is that they had complimentary soup and mustard sauce. However the ginger sauce and white sauce are very very good. Our first experience here was ordering and dining in, with great results. I ordered the chicken hibachi - huge portion for a low price, and great flavor. The vegetables (carrot, onion, broccoli, zucchini) were extremely fresh and sautéed perfectly. I also got a side order of the veggies, and at $3 this was a success with another huge portion. The best surprise, though, was the chicken. They only use white meat chicken here and the cuts of the meat itself were better than any Asian takeout I've had before, no contest. As many other reviews have mentioned, the white sauce is also delicious, but I only had some on the side as the bare flavor of the chicken and vegetables was so good. It was quick & easy placing a to go order over the phone & by the time it took me to get there (10 minutes), my order was waiting on me. I got a California roll & steak & shrimp hibachi (no carrots). I got the food back to my office & quickly ate the sushi. While it wasn't fancy - I likened it to grocery store sushi - it was tasty. My entree was decent. I really liked the flavor of the steak, shrimp, zucchini, & onions. I was not a fan of the rice. It stated "fried rice" on the menu & it seems everyone's definition is different. This rice tasted steamed & it was very bland & hard. Prices are very reasonable & the menu is plentiful. Parking is ok, but they're in a very busy shopping area. I eat hibachi about once a week, but my normal place was closed today so I decided to try Hibachi 101. Ordering online is very convenient, but the food is meh, at best. I ordered steak and shrimp hibachi and the steak is chewy and hard at the same time, with not much flavor on that or the shrimp. There was not that much protein, the rice seemed stuck together, it was hard to break apart, but the vegetables are tasty. There was a lot of liquid at the bottom of the take out dish as well. Terrible. Agree with the other reviews. I don't understand all of the positive reviews. We were in town for a birthday party and decided to find something quick to eat on our way back to our hotel. Positive: friendly employees. That's it. Negatives: sticky, unseasoned rice. Barely any shrimp or steak in my hibachi. I literally counted 4 shrimp and strips of something pretending to be steak. The rest was vegetables. Ridiculous. Yes, their "almost" shrimp (white) sauce is good but you NEED it to drench your rice with in order to eat it. If we're ever in the area again we'll skip this place. read more

Best hibachi in the area...and THAT WHITE SAUCE! Get as many containers as you can when you take your order to go; that's how I usually eat here. The atmosphere and presentation are modest but the hibachi chicken and steak are fire. Plenty of veggies and the fried rice is just heavenly. I always order extra mushrooms, it's the way to go at Hibachi 101. The service is wonderful with orders being quick and always correct. Call ahead and your order is ready in 10 min! I do not understand all the 4/5 star reviews. The entire experience left a lot to desire. Not sure what I was expecting since I've never been inside this place but I bet it didn't match reality. I really like cleanliness and was thrown off by the front looking smudged and nasty. I almost didn't go in after that but since I called in a to-go order, I just entered. It looks like a cheap carry-out "restaurant" from the inside with counter ordering and some tables sprinkled in the dining area. I got my order and was told I could get the white sauce on the way out that's pretty famous in the reviews. I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. Now maybe I'm just used to having hibachi at places that focus on those dishes but I was expecting to see prawn sized shrimp, not tiny barely there crustaceans. The rice was super dry, clumped together and gummy. The chicken was also dry. The few veggies were the best thing in that box. The overall serving was smaller than expected for the price and quality. What confuses me is this "white sauce" that's not really white at all since it usually has a bit of tomato paste. Soooooooooooooooo good! If you're looking for reasonably priced hibachi that is AMAZING, this is your place. Ginger sauce and white sauce are on point and the portions are HUGE. They are super accommodating for veggie selection, as I don't want onions or carrots in my hibachi. Let's put it this way; their a.c. was out on a super hot day and I STILL decided to eat there. How does this place have 4 stars? It was awful. Just a pure waste of $43! The hibachi chicken/steak was dry and gross. The steak was just the worst chopped up dry chewy stew meat ever and was completely inedible. The scallops in the soba were so burned they were like rubber and made the whole meal just taste burned. Taste and customer service are key items for me when having lunch out and about. The gentleman greeted us at the counter and made it known we were priority over his phone order. I really appreciate this gesture. My chicken fried rice was delicious though the rice was a bit overwhelming, I am willing to over look this because the dish was flavorful. You'll be greeted with a hello and it's accompanied with a grimace of place-your-order-and-go type of smile.The interior is neat and has a low level of background tunes playing as well. It's a nice area to meet for a first date or small group gathering. The food tasted pretty average. Maybe I'll try the sushi next time. The menu prices range from $3-$12. My meal was out in less than 10 minutes which was awesome. I was able to get as much Yum-Yum and Ginger Sauce on the side as I pleased too! I'm a fan of hibachi as it was the fast food of choice during my college years so I was excited when my friends chose this spot for a late Sunday lunch. Ordering here is simple: pick an item from the giant menu on the wall next to the cashiers and tell the person what you want. Pay and get a number and they call you by that number when the food is ready just like other hibachi places. I ordered the yakisoba with chicken which comes with carrots and cabbage as the veggies. I asked if I could switch out the veggies, and was told it was an extra charge but I guess the sad face I made convinced her to let me switch this time for free. I opted for squash and broccoli. Food was cooked very fast even though they had a steady stream of takeout and pickup orders. Everything came in a styrofoam takeout container which made it easy to carry leftovers. The food itself: the noodles were like ramen noodles--thin and wavy. They were super flavorful and had been cooked in plenty of soy sauce. They didn't skimp on the chicken either which I was excited about--a good chicken to noodles to veggie ratio is important! Their white sauce is also excellent! It is creamy unlike some of the other more watery options. A not-so-great thing about the place is that it is not clean. When I went to the restroom, there was a bug trap next to the trashcan...full of all sorts of bugs. Not a super appetizing image right before I got to eat. I recall their sanitation rating was a 90.
