How clutch is a hibachi spot with a drive-thru? VERY! I now see why the line be so long during peak lunch and dinner hours. I was skeptical about trying the food not gonna lie because hibachi has been hit or Miss since I've been living in Atlanta but I'm not disappointed. I've been to this place twice and each time delivered! Both times I've eaten here I've gotten the Hibachi Chicken, large and half sizes, with a side of the veggie egg rolls. First let's talk about the egg rolls; they didn't taste frozen or store bought, and if they were, they did an amazing job of making them delicious. They had a ginger kick to them that I loved and they were a nice size portion. The price wasn't bad either like $5 for two. The Hibachi Chicken is tasty; no mucky or overcooked rice, seasoned chicken, hefty and flavorful serving of veggies, nothing to complain about especially for the price! The half size is like $11 and the full is $14 rounded up, and you get a ton of food for the price! My mom ordered the shrimp fried rice and wasn't too impressed. It was a nice sized serving from the picture and what I saw but I can't judge the taste considering I didn't eat any but it looked good. She's picky so I can't really properly assess the fried rice lol I can't give the place 5 stars because I haven't experience the restaurant to its entirety. However, the service is always good even with the cashiers at the window when I go being young, the restaurant appears clean in the inside from what I can see sitting in my bar, and the parking lot isn't trashy. It looks sketch but it's not lol. Overall good food and experiences. I'm going back to try that Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, their Veggie Fried Rice, and their chicken wings! They have a drive-thru, you can't beat that!

Saw this place on tiktok and made the 25-30 minute drive from Sandy Springs -- I'll say it's well worth it! I can't speak to the inside of the restaurant because I used their very convenient drive-thru, but service through the speaker was efficient. Yes, I did have to pull up for about 5-8 minutes for them to bring my food but this wasn't inconvenient for me as this told me the food was made to order and fresh! Everything I got was hot and delicious. I was going to order the 1/2 hibachi chicken plate, but when I asked to add teriyaki sauce to the chicken the guy advised to just order the teriyaki chicken bowl. This came with fried rice, teriyaki chicken and hibachi-style vegetables. The portion was more than generous, I literally had 2.5 meals off of it. And yes, they do give you yum yum sauce! I also ordered the Atlanta roll which was basically a fried Philadelphia roll. The price is amazing for the quantity they give you. I will 100% be back.

I've heard about this no so hidden gem on TikTok for a couple of years and finally decided to check it out and it was some of the best hibachi I've had in years. I had the triple meat (chicken, steak & shrimp) yakisoba bowl it comes packed to the brim so the portions are on point also everything was well seasoned and wasn't relying on soy and teriyaki sauce for flavor even the prepackaged yum yum sauce is an after thought. The service was great as well everything made to order and the cashier was very nice and patient.

"Drive Thru Hibachi" - Technically, I feel that is a pretty strong review that should you bring you to this spot...but just in case you are still skeptical, I will elaborate... Situated on South Cobb Drive between Concord Road and Windy Hill sits Terry Ho's Hibachi Express, a spot that a few ago took over the old Dairy Queen/barn style building and started slinging decent quality, modestly priced and plentiful portioned hibachi staples along with the namesakes famous Yum Yum sauce. While they have an indoor counter for ordering and a couple of tables, they are currently only operating via the drive thru currently. The drive thru itself is a pretty short line, so you normally must enter and circle the building to loop back in front of the place, as that is where the menu/speaker sits. One would think hibachi would take a bit of time to prepare, but here they have it down to a science. Sadly there are no thrills of shrimps being flung or onion volcanos, but getting a stacked and filled container of a heaping portion of rice, veggies and chicken (or whatever protein you like) for under $10 is enough thrill for me! While the price is fantastic and the servings are more than adequate, the quality of the food is solid as well. I will say that on occasion, I can tell I got there at the right time, as my protein was hot and fresh, while other times my chicken has been a tad dry. Seeing that they serve this variety of food via quick service, it makes sense that they batch make the goods and scoop from a line as you order. Either way, I have had worse and I have had better, but for the price, I won't rag on it at all! Since I usually get the hibachi, this comes with fried rice and sautéed veggies. The rice is a basic "fried" rice that is just that, rice. It does not feature any veggies or eggs. The veggies are good, cooked well and feature zucchini, broccoli, carrots and onions...all the staples! While I maintain my dedication to getting hibachi each time, my family and friends often get the teriyaki bowls, which are basically the hibachi without the yum yum sauce and veggies. I have gotten the egg roll on occasion, and when I do...I ain't mad at it! Its packed full of veggies, minced protein and fried to absolute perfection. Toss a little duck sauce on it and bam! Outside of the hibachi and bowls, they have other items that I have yet to try, but sound tasty and are also well priced. These include yakisoba bowls, fried rice and wings. Overall, this place hits the spot every time. While I enjoy a good show every now and then, given the state of things, it is super nice to be able to still enjoy hibachi without all the risks of eating in...and if that wasn't enough, it is also great to pay literally half the price you are used to paying! My family and friends are always impressed that we got a drive thru hibachi spot, so when we have visitors, Hibachi Express is usually on the menu at least one of the days!

I know this review is probably pointless because a) I've seen how the owners pick and chooses who they respond - take a look - there's a trend and b) I'm not regular - so losing me as a customer won't hurt them in the lease. But here I go - I used to be regular. Stopped by for a semi-healthy (or so I told myself) lunch or dinner a couple times of week because it was on the way home from my consulting gig AND it was right across from Gizmo's favorite dog park (that somewhat hidden treasure that it took me YEARS to even discover). I thought I stopped going because I was no longer ever in the area. I forgot that I kinda stopped going because they were inconsistent. So ... I ventured in because I met a client on S Cobb drive for a last minute Easter promo. Hadn't stopped in at least 5 years. Called in my order from the parking lot because there were 4 cars in line and I know they tend to be slow. I asked for land lovers (steak medium well and chicken) with steamed white rice. I asked if they could do 'no broccoli' - otherwise it would be fine. They cashier was super friendly. Assured me that it was fine to omit broccoli and even repeated my order back to me. I pull in behind the four cars and wait my turn. As I sit there, I can see the employee - taking care of phone orders, window orders and even wandering outside to take orders to cars they asked to pull up. I've recently had 'a blessing' and I sincerely appreciate good customer service - and I witness the cashier giving everyone pleasant, friendly, patient customer service - so I tip the cashier $20. He even tries to give it back to me in confusion because I paid with my card. I told him, No that's for you. I'm not boasting on my tip - only mentioning it because I want owners to realize that if I was trying to get free food - I would not have tipped $20 on a $14 dollar meal. It's getting dark - and I'm blind as a bat at night - so MY BAD - I drive off without checking my food. I get home and I'm excited to tuck into my food. I open my tray to discover this (see pics) . smaller portions aside ... 'No broccoli' somehow transmitted to all broccoli. Listen folks - I LOVE broccoli, but I have diverticulosis - and broccoli, corn, peanuts - anything tough or fibrous or hard to digest TRIGGERS diverticulitis - so I can't eat it. And as much as I love meat - I don't really care for rice. So without veggies - I would've been stuck eating a small pile of steak and chicken. I'm a carnivore - but for me to eat a plate with nothing but meat - it's gotta be grilled or smoked. But I digress. I called the restaurant. Told them what happened. They told me to bring it back for replacement. I explained that I couldn't come back that same night. And they were closed the next day. They told me to hold on to the food - and bring it back for a replacement. I was beyond annoyed. I get it - people pretend they have complaints to get fake food. I offered to take a pic of food - not because I planned to eat it - but because I knew that I wasn't up for driving ALL the way over there with this food within the next few days. Person said just return with food. I tried to just eat the meat - but couldn't. I wind up waiting for a pork tenderloin to thaw and eating 4 hours later. Cut to 9 days later. Yep. I stuck it in the downstairs fridge that we rarely use - and I finally had a break in my day (two jobs, people) - and I drove back over there with this sad bag of food. Explained to same cashier (the one I tipped $20 previously). Bag included everything - food, Yum Yum sauce, spring roll. After much discussion - manager comes over and asks if they can re-make meal instead of refund. I told him that I never asked for a refund - I literally asked for a re-make. A few minutes later, cashier comes back and said, 'You want no vegetables right?' ARGH. I calmly explained, 'No - just no broccoli.' Now I'm worried - if I didn't want vegetables, I could have just eaten the rice and meat in previous meal. Now I'm worried. After about 7 minutes, they come to the window with the bag. Tell me it's ok for me to check it. Same tightly knotted bag that I have to rip open to check. No fork. Spring roll I told them I didn't want. But otherwise it looks ok. I leave. When I get home - I try the food. Here's why I gave the 1 star - a) if you mess up my order, and I come back - I understand times are rough for everyone - but I think team should at least offer to recompense in some way - complimentary beverage or dessert. I would have declined - but it's the thought that counts b) the portions have gotten smaller c) my steak was fine but chicken was tough and overcooked Again - I understand that my little review won't hurt these folks - but for anyone reading - BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU PULL OFF.

This place is great! You get great food, great taste, without the wait or having to sit in the hibachi restaurant! I got the land lover (chicken and steak) they give you a great portion. Veggies were fresh. And they're not stingy with the condiments! My plate was so much covered me for almost two days! I didnt get the sushi, I wish i did. That was my first experience with a drive thru hibachi but it's definitely authentic!

My Fiancee' shared this place with me and noted that it had some good options. I like that they offer a drive-thru and are local. They were very patient with me given it was my first time and their menu is kind of overwhelming when you drive up. I ordered a half portion of the Hibachi Chicken and an order of the Shrimp Fried Rice. The wait was less than 15 minutes and they have ample spots where you can park and wait for them to bring it out. The prices are quite reasonable for the amount of food you get. The Hibachi Chicken meal was delicious, and everything was hot. The shrimp fried rice had an interesting flavor, and it was actually not my favorite. They give one container of yum yum sauce per entree you order. They are comparable to Hibachi Stop on Delk Road but I do think I like both about the same.

Honestly I don't think I'll ever be going back here, as soon as I opened my food I saw there was a hair in eat. I hadn't been here in a while but after that I will definitely not be going back. Unfortunately I was at home already so I didn't want to make the drive back but you guys should REALLY CHECK YOUR FOOD before you leave just to save you the drive.

I placed an order through DoorDash for pick up and the food was ready within 10 minutes. I went around ~9pm on a Wednesday and the drive thru was pretty packed! I ordered the hibachi chicken through the drive-thru. Yaaaay, this place has a drive-thru! This Hibachi Express is semi-new. It's in the forever-abandoned Dairy Queen building- probably hadn't been occupied for 10 years or so. Well, these people found it and are making use of it. They seem to be doing okay, too. There's always a line when I pass by. After ordering through drive-thru, I decided to take baby boy inside and eat. We received our food after about 10 minutes, maybe less. It was not steaming hot as if they'd just cooked it. It was just warm- not hot. Slightly disappointing to know that their version of "hibachi" is already-made food that is NOT made hibachi-style. The portion size was pretty big for $6. The food was good. The saltiness was off the charts. I was starving and hadn't eaten all day, so the first few bites were really good. But as I neared halfway, I started feeling worried about how much salt intake I was taking. They have fountain soda available, but you can't see it until you walk towards the back. So, the cashier didn't tell me this. He only pointed to the bottled sodas in the fridge near the front. I bought a bottled water and finished it before I was halfway done with the meal. The Yum Yum sauce that they give you is excellent, but again, the saltiness factor is already through the roof. This likely makes it worse. I'd stop by this place again, especially if I just wanted a quick bite- maybe try something small through their drive-thru. It was okay overall. Less salt, please. And actually make it hot as it's being ordered... I thought that was part of the "hibachi" experience...? 3 stars. read more

First time coming here. Not bad for as much food as I got!! Fast service and place seemed clean. I am glad there's a place for fast Hibachi. I've been looking for one in this area. I got the shrimp Hibachi. It came with fried,rice, vegetables and yum yum sauce which I put on everything. I only ate half and got a lot of shrimp. I gave the rest to my husband ! While dining with friends at another location last wk, I got excited the food taste and portion was soo good, I had to find a location in Cobb. Well I located this one, and although I may return, it won't be real soon. I am uncertain if these locations are all connected in some way but Haynes Bridge location in Alpharetta is much better. Its the flavor! This location also has cabbage as an ingredient (you may opt out though), but the flavor here is very bland. I had the Hibachi chicken with broccoli, extra egg, onions and zucchini. Absolutely bland. Loads of food for the buck. Also curiously, I found pieces of corn in the rice?? Fast, cheap and good. At this price, it's hard to complain. Never take seriously reviews from people who used third party delivery services. If you want to give a legit review, go to the restaurant, order in person, sit down and eat. If you take food to go, you can't complain about soggy or cold food, sorry. Food is exactly what you'd expect from a hibachi express in an old dairy queen barn. Service is fast and friendly. Kids and wife can split a full order entree. Always a hit. read more

Yesterday I returned, and once again the food was excellent. This time though,I ate my lunch right there at the business and enjoyed it hot! I left the premises very happy, and also full, which gave me energy for my "(Jesus-)sign walking" along South Cobb Drive. LOVE their spicy tuna roll. In general, their fresh fish rolls are tasty and fresh. I'm not a huge fan of their tempura, which often seems very greasy and flavorless. Their hibachi dinners are great and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend. read more

This is my fourth or fifth time coming here and I love it! I always order the chicken hibachi (I didn't like the shrimp). This time I order the spicy crab meat roll, new sushi eater. Pleasantly surprised by the speed and quality of food. They are affiliated with Miyako's Japanese (East West Connector) I was told. The fried rice, noodle bowl, veggie rolls and nontraditional dishes are all on point. Fresh chicken, steak and shrimp are the house dishes that I highly recommend. read more

If I could give a 0 then I would, the last two times I ordered from here has been hell. The first time they gave me stale fries and had to remake them. This time they totally lied to me on the phone on if my order was out for delivery then when I called back they ignored my call until I called back again and a guy answered and lied again about my order. When my order FINALLY came it was stale AGAIN!!!!! I specifically said on the checkout note "Please don't over cook the wings and I would like blue cheese :)" like CMON!!!! So here is my order fries are undercooked and raw and the wings are super hard and stale I can't even eat them at all. I will NEVER order again from them with their lying asses!!!! Terrible management, I came through the drive through with my friend and we order the same thing every time, Steak friend rice. We got all the way home about 15 minutes away, and we call and tell them that our food is wrong and can we get the right food, they said yes. So we drove back and they refused to give us the right food. The guy proceeds to argue and accuse us of eating some of the food from the wrong order, holding up the line through the drive through for about 10 minutes. A total of an hour driving and didn't get what we ordered. read more

Ordered through Yelp on the Eat24 app, paid with Apple Pay, and thought it wow that's great and easy. I even got a confirmation stating my pickup was confirmed ready for 6:48pm. Showed up at 6:50 and they didn't have it ready for even started. Sat in restaurant for another 20+ minutes waiting. Had to ask where my order was. Not a good first experience!! Update - at least the food was super yummy! I will give them them - great food but definitely need to work on the customer service a bit. read more

They give you soo much food for the price and its really good hibachi! They are fast and friendly they even throw in a 2L if you spend $30 I cannot not be more pleased. Try them out you will not be disappointed! Especially if you want to share with another person! read more

Hibachi Express is a family owned business and it definitely exceeded my expectations! My oldest daughter was told of the restaurant by some of her classmates at nearby Campbell High School and we could not believe the concept was feasible. The restaurant is an old Dairy Queen location that had closed several years ago most likely due to the Great Recession. While there are no fancy chef tricks to prepare your food at any tables, the food is well prepared with prepackaged Terry Ho's Yum Yum sauce on the side and priced just right! They even have a drive through window if you wish to stay on the go! The volume of food was so much that all of us had leftovers that we anticipate finishing soon. As a no frill restaurant, you receive what you put in so be sure to take your loud family and friends and make your own environment! Enjoy Hibachi Express and we will definitely return! read more

My boyfriend and I used to frequent hibachi express for their lunch special. When we couldn't make it for an in house meal we often order online via a delivery app. Needless to say I am a long time customer. My issue came this morning when I placed an order from this restaurant via Postmates my driver gave me a call to inform me that the menu on Postmates was wrong and I could no longer purchase sushi from this establishment. There was a lot of talking back and forth between the driver and the hostess up front (I believe). In short, my driver wanted the staff to advise me what I could get instead of a sushi roll - the staff refused to speak to me and I heard very clearly on the other line: "I'm not speaking to her I'm not speaking to her that's your customer" now this took me by surprise as I've never heard anyone say that to a customer whether they're on Postmates or not? I hung up on the driver and called the restaurant myself - the hostess hung up on me once I asked if she could explain what menu item I could get instead of a roll. I called again and spoke to a general manager who directed me a little better but was still being rude and saying I was not THEIR customer that I was Postmates and should speak to them about any issues I was having. I think it's incredibly ridiculous to refuse to speak to someone simply because they ordered on an app. Furthermore, the general manager went on a tangent about how hard Postmates can be on their staff. If hibachi express is so overwhelmed by the Postmates orders they should remove it indefinitely instead of allowing their staff to hang up on people and say they aren't worth speaking to. Needless to say I won't be returning to this establishment. Edit: in response to the owners response. My driver couldn't read the menu. He did not have his glasses so you're lying! I was on the phone with him for a total of 3 minutes. I have the call log if you'd like me to post it. If the driver was rude is not my issue as I was not present. Your hostess was NOT polite and she hung up on me when I called the restaurant. As I said on my call if Postmates is such an inconvenience to you and they have not changed your menu you need to end your business relations with them not take it out on customers trying to understand what the issue is. read more

Ordered on NYE, so acknowledge that they may have been overly busy. Food arrived an hour late, cold and below average. We ordered the kimchi, egg rolls, fried rice , vegetable hibachi and miso soup. The miso soup was the only redeeming part of the meal. It is hard to mess up this type of food, but it lacked the freshness and depth of flavor I would expect. read more

This is my favorite hibachi place in Smyrna! I honestly eat there probably once a week. I can't speak for ordering in the drive thru and how long that takes as I generally call in my order and pick it up on my way home and I've never had to wait. The staff is great as well and has never messed up my order. I highly recommend them! read more

Hey, man! This was kinda tasty! So close, so cheap, so yum-yum..get it?! get it?! (the name of the sauce) The teenager wanted rice and chicken. He said this place always has a line in the drive thru when his bus passes by on the way home from school, so that was his gauge for wanting Hibachi Express. Gotta love it! Anyhoo..I was a lil' skeptical, but I don't mind being proved wrong! Hibachi chicken and spring rolls. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The fried rice was not dry and the veggies were fresh and grilled nicely. There was a short wait at the window, but I saw them cooking it fresh, so that was fine with me. Who doesn't love Hibachi? I must admit when I first drove past here I was like no way, this will be just another chinese restuarant. Boy was I wrong! The food is fresg, worth the weight and might I add delicious. I have had the half hibachi and a bowl. I love that they give you yum yum sauce and allow you to personalize your hibachi. I dont go as often as I would like but I am pleased with the service I have received thus far. read more

Finally!!! I can now have habachi whenever I want without breaking the bank! We ordered full steak and chicken habachi meals for 6.99 each (5.99 for a half - who would do this? leftovers!). Each came with a prepackaged yum yum sauce, veggies (onions, carrots, and zucchini) a TON of rice and a good size portion of meat. Service was relatively speedy and polite. It is not the same quality of a sit down habachi restaurant that will add up to easily 25+ a person for dinner, but for the price of this meal I would have to say it is absolutely worth it! I get so tired of chinese food that leaves much to be desired.. so this is a nice change of pace. The Dairy Queen that thiis place took over as been empty for years. I am really happy something so unique came into the location. read more

Yelp hot this one wrong!!! Overcooked, warmed over steak, soggy rice and salty, soggy vegetables. Probably the worst hibachi I have ever had. All this after I waited 10 minutes in the drive thru to pick up my order. The only good points are the pricing and the young man that took my order was very friendly. Never again. read more

It will strike you as a hole in the wall, but it was great. Lots of food, not too expensive, and easily satisfied my very hungry family of 6. The menu is pretty straightforward and you can't go wrong with any choice I'd imagine. We had 3 plates of chicken, steak, and scallops and all were a winner. Food: - Ton-katsu (3/5): The sides (potatoes, miso, and salad) were fine. The meat was intriguing. It was impossible to eat without it falling apart as there were evidently two different mystery cuts of meat (one dark, one white) packed together. The texture of the dark meat resembled that of stale hamburger patty and the white meat was probably pork tenderloin? Hibachi Express is definitely a hit-or-miss kind of place. When it comes to the food, it's a solid win--especially for the price. The portions are huge, and one order is more than enough for me and my son to share. The meats are juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right, and the teriyaki sauce is flavorful without being overwhelming. Pro tip: ask for extra Yum Yum sauce--you'll thank me later. Now, let's talk about the customer service. Unfortunately, this is where the experience falls short. The staff here tends to be noticeably rude. I still remember my first visit--I mistakenly pulled up to the window instead of the speaker, and rather than calmly explaining the process, the employee was unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive. It left a bad first impression, and sadly, the energy hasn't improved much since. Another note: the original hibachi meal doesn't come with fried rice by default, which is a bit odd considering it's a staple. You'll need to ask for it specifically, so don't forget if that's your preference. All in all, the food holds it down, but the service definitely needs work. My family and I are big fans of this spot. We usually go with a teriyaki bowl, but last night I tried the hibachi seafood lovers entree. It was quite a lot of food. I asked for no zucchini, which there were still a few in there. That's OK, I'm not that picky. The yum yum sauce makes any dish better! The cheese wontons are very good; crispy and creamy.
