I had not been to Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in years after a not-so-great visit but my husband has been going since covid & kept saying it had really improved. So, on a rainy, dreary evening, I decided to give it another try. What a difference! Walking in, first impression: very clean & surprisingly busy for such miserable weather - always a reassuring sign for a buffet. The sushi selection was solid for a buffet. While we skipped the hibachi grill this time, it looked like a fun option for the next visit. The buffet was consistently replenished, everything we tried was hot & fresh. Standouts for me? The baby Asian clams, crispy chicken nuggets (don't judge!) & perfectly snackable crab rangoon. I also loved that the desserts were cut into small portions so you could sample a bunch without overcommitting. Bonus: individual ice cream cups in a bunch of flavors. My wife and I hadn't been to this place in a couple years and decided to try it out this past Saturday...OMG the place went downhill compared to what it use to be like eating there... First off I asked for a booth and the guy brings us to a child size booth with barely any room for two people to eat comfortably...Strike one, and the place wasn't even busy and he walked us by a couple of full size empty booths. We went up to get raw chicken and shrimp to have it stir fried with some vegetables. While waiting we walked around the buffet self serving tables only to see that the Crab Rangoons were all stuck together and the size of quarters, they looked like they had been reheated over time and not very appealing... I then found what was supposedly coconut shrimp drenched in a sugary white heavy cream sauce that didn't have any sign of coconut at all on them...The shrimp were tiny and barely noticeable in what looked like a white pudding...I tried this out and didn't care for it at all, way too sweet and nothing like I remembered it use to taste like. My wife couldn't find any snap beans or many vegetables where they once were (remembering the past) nope, instead they served squid rings, crawfish, mini crabs that looked too small to be sold and giant crab legs which we both took a hard pass on... The only chicken I seen was General chicken that was all fused together like it had been reheated and over saturated with their sugary sauce...The barbecue spare ribs had a chewy texture and almost tasted like it was raw, way too chewy for me and I didn't finish it on my plate. The stir fry was heated and cooled really fast! I noticed the pineapple that I added to the raw chicken and raw shrimp wasn't even cooked through and still hard... Overall the meal was pretty bad, nothing like it use to me that I remembered, the soda was barely carbonated and after two sips from the straw it was left untouched... We were there for approximately 15 minutes after getting our food and I asked for the Bill so we could leave... The waitress handed me the check, it was $48. for two dinners and two sodas. They also added on the bottom of the bill a tip percentage for 5% 10% and 15%...I gave the waitress a $50. Bill and told her to keep the change...She gave me a weird look after that... My wife and I left the restaurant hungry and I swore to her I'd never return to this restaurant ever again even if it were the only restaurant in the country. The service was terrible, the food was even worse than I thought it would ever get and the overall experience was horrible because the price didn't reflect a better quality... Okay... I'm not really sure why I'm rating this as high as I am. I think it's because my son is a bottomless pit and the price to let him just go wild is incredibly reasonable. But the place is ... interesting. First off, most of the buffet options are American foods... a lot of it isn't the most appetizing looking. The Chinese options are mainly fried chicken with different sauces. The sushi... well, my bottomless pit of a son who loves sushi won't even touch it. The soups are good. And if you want a quick Mongolian wok style meal (which is what I do recommend) the price point is pretty spot on. Overall though, it's a big restaurant flipping tables for multiple families at once and you've got to respect the hustle. read more

Super average, if that's a phrase. I brought several staff members here (24 total). My lead admin booked us a rezzi and they reserved the back room. It was perfect for our crew! The wait staff were incredible. It was a Tuesday evening, but might as well have been the weekend given the crowd. The food was exactly what I paid for lol mid. The sushi was unmarked and left me questioning what exactly they put out. I passed on most of it, except what I knew for sure. The hibachi was well enough. I did notice the 'chef' was tossing raw foods with his metal spatula on the griddle and then plating cooked food immediately after at the end of the day the buffet was plentiful. The food was good but tasted like it had been left out for too long. For example, the crab Rangoons, sesame balls, dumplings, chicken, and octopus were luke warm and dry. Not anything particular stood out to me regarding the food. The dessert options were better than the main entrees. They had various pastries and ice creams to choose from. The seating areas felt way too crammed for the booths, even just for 3 people. The clear glass dividing the booths also makes it awkward for two separate parties eating on opposite sides, especially considering how close the seating is. Service was super terrible and unwelcoming, me and my friend came an hour before close mind you they had a half full dinning room. As soon as we walked in the lady in the front told us they closed in an hour and tired to convince us not to eat. Once we decided to sit and eat we started to eat and the server was already circling our table while the other workers walked past staring at us. This place is the worst. Sat down with my buddy 2+ hours before close and was watched like a hawk by server. Food was mid, gave us our check before we finished one plate, so of course we did not feel the need to give a heavy tip. We proceeded to leave 45 on 44.35, and before walking out aggravated server halted us, ran and i literally mean ran to table to check tab as if we were "dining and dashing" and asked for more money for tip. The choices are getting weirder, cheaper, and more traditional US buffet vs Chinese themed (garlic bread, meatloaf, stuffed jalapeños, etc). The quality is sub par even compared to other buffets, and food sits out well past when it should. Dumplings were rock hard, wonton soup was mushy, generals chix was dry and goopy. It is identical from the layout, to the food and the service. It is $16.99 a person for all you can eat. Lunch is $11.99. Here you can find most anything in the typical Chinese menu. They also have pizza, sushi, clams, muscles, oysters, shrimp and more. I had some sushi, it was ok. I wouldn't say it was the freshest. I also had the egg drop soup, it was ok. I had some broccoli and beef. This isn't the type of place, where I'd want to fill my plate over and over. The dessert selection is very weak. They have a lot of cakes, but they're all very dry. There's fruit and a coffee flavored pudding. This place isn't for me, but it is very packed with locals and with travelers. You can also purchase your food to go, that's sold by weight. read more

After many years of absence. I decided to try this buffet again. They are open following the current COVD guidelines like social distancing, gloves to scoop food out, taking temperature, etc. The buffet food section is pretty ample and they have the Hot Food Chinese section, Hot Food American section, salad, dessert, Hibachi and Sushi. I did not find the sushi that good nor fresh, so I only had a few and I passed. The soup section had the traditional choices and I tried the wonton soup and the hot and sour..both were not bad. The Hibachi is my favorite. You can pick what you want (I got beef and veggies with half teriyaki, half hot sauce) and enjoy a nice hot, off the grill plate. Among the hot foods, I particularly enjoyed the rice noodles (mei fun), the baked fish-it might had been tilapia or cod (not labelled), the sesame chicken, the general tso's chicken, the bbq chicken, the black pepper chicken and the grilled chicken skewers. Not a big fan of their prime rib (bland), the clams (not flavorful nor spicy), stuffed mushrooms, baked salmon, chicken wings, etc.... A few of the dessert cakes were moist and good. Overall not bad. 5 stars for value, flavor, and freshness of their fried shrimp and steamed crab, which is only available for dinner Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I almost always get a to go box and fill it with whatever I want. It's priced by the pound. I normally end up paying around $15 for a whole crab, hibachi rice, sautéed mushrooms in oyster sauce, calamari, shrimp, and a bite of roast beef. It's a steal and so delicious! They automatically chase a customer and will embarrass them and accuse you of not paying. Then apologize. Make a mockery out of paying customers. Demand tips. In front of customers. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a buffet food was definitely old sitting there for hours. Didn't really have a waitress come to the table had to wait forever for water. When it came time to tipping, we felt that it wasn't deserved so we didn't leave a tip and the waitress came over to the table and scolded us for not leaving a tip. This was a Sunday afternoon and they had dinner prices, and upscale choices. Food looked fresh, well prepared, and it seemed it was constantly attended to. Very good selections, and it seems like whatever you're craving, it's there. They have a sushi station, and even though we didn't try it, presentation looked good. Same can also be said about the hibachi station. Only drawback would be the restrooms. They could use a little attention, and also one of the faucets could use replacing. The food is good here and has a great variety. We have been eating here for 12 years and normally don't have a problem but this trip the bill was $38 for two and so we left our usual $3 tip. Its buffet so a 7-10% tip is customary. But the server expected much more just for refilling our water 3 times and taking up our dirty plates. She gave me a comment "so the $3 is mine"? I absolutely love buffets and have failed to find one in RI/MA that I actually like besides the Nordic lodge, which will cost you a small fortune. That being said, I hadn't been here in years because the last time I came it was disgusting. I decided to give it another try, and you know what? It wasn't that bad. The only thing I can honestly say is it isn't smart to put a couple with no children at a booth where there is nothing but families with small children running amok with their coughing and noses running, etc. THAT was a turn off. As a buffet lover, I give this place a two thumbs up! I was quite impressed with this little gem, as it doesn't look like much from the outside. When you first walk in, it's a bit surprising to see the wide selection of offerings with the Hibachi grill to order, and Sushi bar being along the back wall. The decor is nice, there are a lot of booths and regular dining tables large and small. I don't recall ever having a wobbly table on either of my 2 recent visits here which is a plus. There is something here for everyone, no matter what your palette is like. There's sushi, seafood, salad, a nice dessert and fruit bar, ice cream, hibachi grill that you can customize and have cooked while you watch, as well as a friendly staff that will promptly take away anything that needs discarded. After tip, on a week night our tab was about $32.00, with waters instead of pop or tea. On a Sunday night with pops for two of us was closer to $40 before tip. I promise you that the selection is worth it. The steam tables are all kept impeccably clean in comparison to most buffets, and the temperature of the food is on point depending on how long you linger to gather your selections of course. My 3 favorite things here are the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Egg Rolls, and the Mushrooms in the brown sauce. The crab rangoon are pretty on point here as well. read more
