The food, service and the ambience is amazing. I've gone here 3 times in the last 2 weeks and everything I've had has been absolutely delicious - from the house made soup, to the freshly squeezed orange juice, to an omelette, to a burger and their yummy entréesentrées. My only complaint if there's any is that my waitress on my second visit was a bit icy and not very friendly. Other than that, everything was beyond my expectations. I can only assume that these ratings are based off of possibly older circumstances. As of August 2026 I personally believe that this is the best diner in the surrounding towns. I don't say that lightly. I don't understand why this place is not more busy but honestly, I'm glad it's not because I genuinely don't feel like waiting in a line haha. However.. I 1000% would if I had too... no questions asked. It's that good! To the diner owners: Do not change anything about this place! The menu is divine. Don't get rid of those amazing cooks. Keep everything as is please, I beg you!!! Keep up the good work. Also, not a complaint but a suggestion. The website could use a bit of revamping, to be honest. I have seen other restaurants feature a clickable menu of the actual in restaurant menu, that you can zoom in. Probably one of the best additions to any restaurants website, because it simply makes it a little bit more user-friendly if you want to quickly browse around the menu after clicking on it and zooming in. Currently looking for items through a big long typed out list on the website is a little bit time-consuming. Thanks again guys!

This is a NJ diner! - the food is what you would expect from a diner. Big portions and tastes great. I love that it looks like I stepped back 40 years

Classic diner with a homey feel. Great for both breakfast and dinner. Omelettes and pancakes are delicious. Matzoh ball soup is wonderful and good to take home too. Also great sandwiches, like chicken salad. Service is friendly and timely. Looking forward to coming again soon!

We enjoyed the food so that was the big plus. However, service was not great. Our waters were never filled and I actually had to get up and interrupt the waitress sitting on her phone to request refills. Our waitress was also quite curt and it felt like us being there was an inconvenience. Ambiance was very typical of a diner, but it is smaller than most. It was okay for a quick bite to eat but I probably wouldn't come out of my way to eat here again.

Came here for breakfast on a day trip to Pennsylvania was easily accessible off the highway, super friendly staff . Nice to see some healthy choices for breakfast. Enjoyed the Energy Platter. All the food we ordered came out quickly by a super friendly waiter of ours. Any other things we needed like coffee refills , water and napkins came out quickly. Love the feeling inside also has a nice seating area outside I saw. Would definitely come back for lunch or dinner sometime.

I came in after spending the day at Six Flags and was looking for quality food to sit down and enjoy. We were promptly sat and our waiter was so attentive and quick with everything we were impressed! Almost everything on the menu includes soup or salad. We enjoyed the seafood bisque soup of the day which was excellent. I ordered a belgian waffle and a burger. My friend ordered the cheesesteak. Both came out quickly and we were checked on throughout the meal if we needed anything else. The prices were also affordable! This will definitely be my place to come when I leave Six Flags from now on.

Stopped in on the way back to the city and was pleasantly surprised this place was on Triple D. Fairly empty when we were there and the service was prompt and friendly. Got the corn beef and hash and Florentine omelette. Portion sizes are large so we probably could have shared. Oh well. Quaint diner experience and next time I'd sit at the counter to get the full affect.

Much respect for marking this seat for "Marshall"

Hightstown diner is pretty much everything you could ever want in a diner. Let's start with the ambience. It starts off with advertisements from local businesses on the door pretty standard, and then also as followed by local advertisements on the placemat. Then everything from the counter stools to the tile on the wall. Nailed it! The food was good. What you' would expect from a diner, diner food. I ordered an avocado BLT. That was well manicured and delicious. End it with a cherry on top, which was a Leslie choice. She was our server for the afternoon, and had all the character and charm of what you would expect from a beautiful 83-year-old waitress from New Jersey. Loved it, please go visit Joyce!

The numbers we found online weren't working so we couldn't tell if it was still open but decided to stop in today on a whim. The employees working were SO NICE. The two gentlemen were kind and made our experience here enjoyable. I ordered the veggie panini, my husband ordered the grilled chicken and avocado wrap and my son got the mushroom risotto. It took 40+ mins for our food to come out and they accidentally made my husbands wrap a panini. We couldn't wait any longer so he took the panini. The employee who took our order personally came over to apologize which was so kind and noble. The paninis were good, but the veggie was way too salty to finish. The side salad it came with was delicious - devoured it! The risotto (frozen - they don't have a kitchen) was good for my little one, but low on the flavor scale for me. The mocha latte we had was subpar. Unfortunately this spot was a flop for me food wise. 2 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service... 3.5 stars overall

This popular cafe is located right in the heart of Basking Ridge. It's small inside but there's outdoor seating also. We had a half hour wait for a table inside. The place has a very cozy feel to it and everyone we met who worked here was very friendly. I started my meal with a Vanilla Chai Latte and my wife had a Macha Latte. My wife ordered the Blintzes with blueberries and I had the Paris Morning breakfast. We both loved the food! My dish came with 2 potato pancakes, 2 poached eggs, and smoked salmon. Just delicious! What we ordered: - Steak and Eggs (Grilled NY strip steak, two sunny side up eggs, breakfast potatoes with Chimichurri sauce) - Eggs Benny (Two poached eggs, thick cut candied applewood bacon on toasted baguette, topped with Hollandaise sauce served with grilled asparagus) - Lemonade The food was very good. I prefer my breakfast potatoes crispy so I didn't finish those but everything else cooked to perfection. There is all your usual stuff that you'd expect to find at any diner. From your sandwiches, omelettes, crepes, typical deserts such as cake and pie, to just about anything else you'd expect to find on a menu for a diner. The service was overall fine but nothing super special but it still is a decent diner to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is better to go around dinner time because then they give you complimentary garlic knots which are delicious. And the televisions they have around the diner are also nice to watch too so you don't feel bored. The only major criticisms I have is that there are times when there are tables that are still very dirty rather its from dirty dishes or too much dust lying around the diner. Another criticism is that the deserts maybe dry from sitting in the fridge too long which is disappointing because they look delicious. The final criticism is that it can be noisy too inside when its always busy. But that is expected as that happens anywhere. In the end, its a solid diner to go to. But it's not the best diner out there as there are plenty other better options for food and to hang out.
