Stayed here June 12-14 while visiting my sister who lives in MKE. I am HHonors member and pretty loyal to the Hilton brand. This Hilton was decent. It is definitely an older hotel, but staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We checked in after midnight and the front desk staff was patient; even dealing a weary traveler such as myself. They let us know that the Miller Time pub was serving food until 1 a.m.- Missed dinner due to our flight and food was needed STAT before hanger set in. The pub was good... Decent selection of beers and our waiter was super friendly. As mentioned, the room was clean and comfy. Didn't spend too much time in the room, but did notice that the walls were thin. I could hear the conversations in the room next door. The breakfast in the cafe was good, I had the complete buffet, probably not worth $17 but oh well. Oh, and the Wi-Fi was free! I think I read it was $10/day, but the front desk gave the password with no charge. But all in all, good stay in MKE. read more

What a gorgeous hotel! You can clearly tell that it used to be a bank - the gold gates! The chandeliers! This is a gorgeous, classy hotel - and yet still affordable. And in a great part of Milwaukee - a quick walk or uber away from restaurants, bars, culture, and nightlife! read more

I thought for the price my friend and I paid (we booked it on priceline for 80 bucks!), this was a great find! The beds were comfy, the room was clean, and amenities were superb! Plus, it worked out well that there was a bus stop right outside the hotel that took us to Miller Park for two dollars!! You can't beat that! read more

Stayed 2 nights at this beautiful hotel. Every single employee that crossed paths with me asked how I was and if there was anything they could help with. I've been to hotels that even the front desk ignores you. We quickly checked in and asked for a high floor. We got a nice 19th floor room with a great view to the north. Pros: - Central location - Nice lobby - My daughter loved the water park - Room service was very good and priced right. I enjoyed the Miller Time Pub Burger. The Sinful 7 Chocolate Torte was divine - I'm a coffee addict. They had Lavazza in the room's coffee maker plus a Starbucks in the lower level - Bed was very comfortable - Large HD TV with over 50 channels Possible Issues: - The room was clean but had minor details probably the result of a lousy remodeling crew - I don't understand why some hotels still charge for wi-fi when even mom and pop motels offer it for free. - Overnight parking was $24. Some may find this high. For us in Chicago this is a steal so no complaints there. Biggest issue: We had a weird maintenance/engineering person insist we called to report a dead phone. When questioned how I would call if the phone was dead he hesitated and asked if he could check the phone. I lost my cool and reiterated that we didn't call. I asked him to walk away. I was well protected and did not feel threatened by the guy at any moment, just aggravated I had to explain myself twice. Verdict: Next time I visit Milwaukee, I'll return to this hotel given I find a good deal. read more

I'm compelled to write about the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. This hotel is by far, the best hotel my company booked me at. It has charm, history, and grace. The service was phenomenal and the hotel staff helpful. The upside to staying here: close to the convention center, close to restaurants (Miller Time was delicious and conveniently situated inside the hotel) and mall (although I didn't venture out to the mall). Since, I was booked under a group I only paid $5 for a refrigerator and $5 for a microwave. I also received complimentary parking right next door with privileges of going in and out of the garage. I stayed in Room 1717 near the elevators and Iucked out as the room was spacious with 2 sleeping beds and 2 windows overlooking Milwaukee. The downside is that the bathroom was small but the deep, hollow bathtub made up for it when your in need of a relaxing bubble bath at the end of a work day. read more

We booked 2 rooms for this place (one for 3 nights, and another for 2 nights) through Expedia. Checking in was a breeze, and the rooms were alright but not similar. What I mean is, the room that was lake-facing was a large room with an awkwardly tiny bathroom which had a pedestal sink, toilet and a tub shoved in it. The bathroom door won't close properly either. The second room was right across and faced west. It was a much smaller room with a small nook by the window where they had the AC unit located. Any cold air coming from the AC would just stay there or would take forever to cool the rest of the room. The bathroom basically was 1/3rd the room with a huge sink and a separate toilet and tub area. The drastic differences in the rooms were definitely disconcerting. Parking wasn't that bad, and we used out room key to enter and exit the parking structure. We couldn't hear our neighbors which was great. After checking out, I checked my credit card to see if there were any incidental charges and to my surprise (or annoyance) I saw multiple charges (300+ dollars, 80+ dollars, and another one for 90+ dollars). I had to turn around and drive back to contest these charges. I was told at the counter that those charges will go away, and my parking will be the only that I should be accountable for (which makes sense). Couple of days later, those charges disappeared, but suddenly a 282.82 charge was added along with parking. I called them, only to get their voicemail (twice). I finally emailed them, and with couple of hours, I go an email apologizing for that charge. I am only a day in of their "you should see that refund within a few business days", but it was such a hassle dealing with this aspect of the stay. My advise would be to check your credit card to make sure you're being charged inappropriately. The only positive would be their concierge named Millie. She is an adorable golden doodle that is just so playful and always ready for belly rubs. She even has a business card! read more

This is a great hotel in a great location. I loved it and would not hesitate to stay here again. GOOD: - Downtown location, walking distance to restaurants and stuff; - Modern and well updated in the rooms (bathrooms, electronics, etc.); - Beautiful, old lobby, light fixtures, floors, walls, etc.; - Service is professional. LESS GOOD: - It's not cheap, but hey, it's a nice, downtown hotel; - Parking is expensive, but again, it's downtown, what do you expect? read more

I have experienced much better hotels with better perks. I took two trips here and they were pretty much the same. My daughters birthday she wanted to go here for her gift. Problems from the jump, My Children who were at the time 8 9 and 10 were sent back to the room because they had to be escorted by a parent? hmm i didn't want to spend my entire time down stairs in the tropical humidity. Second problem, it was a 40 charge to use a microwave! I could have went to walmart purchased one and used it the room. At least when i leave the hotel the microwave is coming with me! The first time i stayed the room was excellent. It had a living area with a detached bedroom. The second time i stayed it was in a room that was really close to other rooms and i guess my kids made the neighbor mad? It a water park in the hotel can you expect for it to be totally quiet? Parking is not free you have to pay daily for it and its not included in the room packages. The wifi is also not included in the room packages it has to be purchased separately. I did enjoy the local in proximity to the eateries and the mall. The decor is exquisite and reminded me of a Titanic area establishment. With that being said would i take my kids back for the water park? No. Would i go maybe for a night or two with a guest? Maybe. read more

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend for our road trip to Cedar Point. Well, the first day was driving to Milwaukee and found deal for reasonable rate here. Plus, this was right in the heart of downtown. First, the parking was convenient being just next to the hotel. You have in/out privileges so that's nice. $25/day is pretty much the standard rate for garage in downtown. So, you are not getting a discount here but you are in downtown. Second, the location is perfect being across from the Capital Grill and is walking distance to the River Walk which was nice for a sunset view. Third, there are several stores at the ground level with Starbucks, gift shop, hair salon, restaurant, and bar. The lobby floor is absolutely gorgeous and reminded me of the Palmer Hotel in Chicago. They have certainly kept it in its original historic state which is wonderful. For the actual rooms, we had a perfect corner king room with windows on both sides. Plus, the bathroom was huge with plenty of room. Well, I kinda wished I was still Gold member since we could enjoy the Executive Lounge. However, it wouldn't have helped since Lounge open only Mon-Thurs nights and Fri morning. For that night, it was kinda noisy with all the cops and riff-raff partying next to our room. So, I would probably recommend a room facing away from the restaurant. Luckily, we brought our ear plugs so was able to sleep through it. The next morning, we asked about the breakfast and was told about continental breakfast ($12) or full breakfast buffet ($17). Continental buffet was everything except scrambled eggs and bacon (1st three rows of food). Full buffet was including the omelet bar plus scrambled eggs and bacon. Anyways, I got the continental and my wife got the full buffet. I noticed that there were meat cold cuts with cheese selection with cucumber slices, etc. Well, the nice waitress let us take back with us our build-your-own sandwiches in a carry-out box. Plus, we got a tinier box to take out fruit cocktail- cantaloupe, honeydew, and pineapple. For $30, it was a steal to be able to take back sandwiches for the road. This saves us time during our drive to OH in the pouring rain. I also appreciated that there were WSJ paper for us in the restaurant. Well, I hope we get to stay here again since it is prime location with great food options in and outside the hotel:) Do not miss this place since this certainly has historical significance. read more

Once a year, I make my annual pilgrimage to Milwaukee for a huge trade show where I teach. I have stayed at some of the other hotels, but for the care that is given to the customers at the Hilton - I will continue to stay here (well as long as I have room mates to share expenses with). From the great staff at the front desk, to the staff who help schlep my bags to the room (huge shout out to Tim! He is a gem - I mean who remembers me from one year to the next), to the staff in the Chophouse Bar (Marco) and more. You get what you pay for in the Hilton. It's worth every penny. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful the Hilton was to deal with for our wedding reception. The hotel itself is gorgeous, especially for a winter wedding like ours. It was decorated to the nines for Christmas, with velvet ribbon and gold ornaments everywhere. There are so many different environments within the hotel that our photographer had a field day -- ornate ballroom doorways to frame a shot; a marble spiral staircase; this incredible gilded ironwork door/wall that can makes such a rich background for your shot. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was. We did a tasting a few months before the big day, and some of the food was very salty; they actually listened to our feedback and adjusted the salt levels for the event. The chef also worked with us to come up with custom menu options (we wanted a local fish and a vegetarian option that wasn't an afterthought). At no point did I ever feel like I was annoying them with requests to personalize our day. Everyone we dealt with were consummate professionals with a great attitude. They thought of every detail and made sure things ran smoothly for us. I appreciate that the Hilton gives you 14 days to look over your contract while still holding your date, before the deposit is due. This takes the pressure off and lets your really look things over thoroughly. From start to finish, the people we worked with (primarily Maggie - thank you!!) went above and beyond. When the church we had initially booked fell through, she sent us suggestions for others, including the one we ended up using for our ceremony. Not being from Milwaukee, we needed some advice on locations for pictures, and she provided that, too. When I arrived at the hotel 3 days before the wedding, with a bunch of last-minute tasks to do, the staff was extremely helpful -- for instance, letting me use the paper cutter from the front office to trim some table tent signs. There were a number of small billing mistakes (as there inevitably would be with any event of this size), but the accounting office resolved them quickly and cheerfully. One tip for people staying here: the hotel is shaped like an H, and the rooms on the center part of the H were overheated when we were there. The weather was unseasonably warm and I guess the hotel and turned off the A/C for the season already (not unreasonable in December). But just the heat generated by concentrated people and machinery made those rooms very hot, and some of our guests had to move to the sides of the H in the middle of the night -- just something to keep in mind when checking in. read more

I love Hilton properties, but this one is kind of weird. It is in a really old building. It looks like more of an old school traditional hotel. But, the quality is still there. There is a Chop House on site, as well as a bar and Starbucks, so if you are thirsty AT ALL you can find something to sip on here. Not to mention great food. The rooms are standard. Dark wood. Comfy bed. Cool Temps. There is a gym on the 7th floor which is odd, but good. It is on a centrally located street with lots of shops, restaurants and things to see and do out and about in Milwaukee. Stayed Fri/Sat night for $50/night through Priceline. While the hotel itself was fairly outdated, the bed was comfortable and the staff was helpful/friendly. Why then the 3 stars you ask? There was a large suite at the end of our hallway and we were kept awake both Friday & Saturday nights by a large party taking place in the suite and in the hallway. Guests at the party had no care or concern for other paying hotel guests as indicated by their loud laughing, yelling, shrieking and talking in the hallway from 11PM-4AM. We could literally hear beer cans opening from our room 6 doors down. The noise level was finally brought down about an hour later after multiple calls to the front desk. When the front desk says that they'll send someone "right up" they mean that they'll call the suite and ask them to quiet down. That doesn't cut it! Also, there is no free adult pool. There is an indoor "waterpark" with a $18 entry fee...good joke! I will not be staying at this hotel again, the Hyatt is right down the street and it's modern and comfortable. As I told my fiancé, I felt like royalty at the Hyatt and peasants at the Hilton. read more

The hotel was beautiful! The location was excellent. Just a few blocks from the Riverwalk. No need to drive or take a Taxi. There was a parking garage beside the hotel, but Saturdays after 6PM and all day Sunday street parking is FREE!!! The room was quaint and well appointed. The amenities were modern yet they didn't interfere with the regal feel of the room. The beds were really comfy too. That's the MOST important part! The GEM for me was the breakfast buffet!! They had smoked salmon, capers, an omelet station, pastries, bagels, fruits, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, juice... it was all delicious! read more

I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars but: BEWARE if you use the "free" business center computers. Every time you use one you have to swipe a credit card or debit card for "authorization." It puts on hold $20 EVERY TIME you use a computer. Nowhere in the hotel brochure in the room, on the computer itself or on the web site is it stated THERE IS A $20 HOLD ON YOUR ACCOUNT EVERY TIME YOU USE THE COMPUTER. This hold will not come off for at least 24 hours. Shame on the Hilton for not clearly relaying the information to its guests. Also, they put a hold on your card of $40! at check-in for possible incidentals that supposedly gets removed after 48 hours. Shame shame shame. Other than these issues, it is a pretty good place to stay and has good food in the restaurants in the hotel. The location is perfect for casino trips. Bonus for the Miller Time pub. read more

The people are so friendly and helpful, always said hello to you when they saw you in the hotel, and asking if they can help you. The room was clean and a very nice size, rather large really. The bathroom was small, but that did not bother me a bit. The courtyard is a nice also. Upon check in, I requested 2 foam pillows and was told that they would be delivered. The next morning I went to the desk and told them I ordered the pillows and did not get them and I would like 2 foam pillows and 2 blankets. I was told they put in a housekeeping request. At about 5:30pm I called down to the desk and explained the request and non deliverance of the pillows and blankets. I got a sincere apology and was told that they would be delivered right away. They were delivered within 15 minutes. Breakfast in the cafe was always good, service was great and fast. Marcella is great, we had her both mornings. We had a late lunch/early dinner at The Miller Time Pub, around 3:00. The fish fry was good, but I surely would not call those potato pancakes, more like potato coins. Basically flattened tater tots. With those coins, they could have skipped the applesauce and give a slice of buttered bread instead. The fish and coleslaw were both good. The server was great and very attentive. That night we had room service and ordered 2 fruit plates. They came in a very timely fashion, actually sooner than promised and the delivery person was very nice and helpful. The next day we ordered the Loaded Nachos to go from the Miller Time Pub and ate them in the room for lunch. They were very good. We went back to the pub on Saturday night. It is a bit dark in the restaurant at night. There was a couple using their phone for a flashlight to read the menu. We were lucky to get a booth with a light directly above it. We ordered the Classic Burger and the ODD burger because we heard their burgers were great. Well what a disappointment. Both of the burgers were burnt and way over done. And I mean burnt. At least a half inch of each burger was crispy, crunchy and hard. I have had burgers with bark on them and this was not the case at all. The ODD burger was to have special sauce. I looked for it, they must have put a little on the center of the bun when the burger was very hot, as I found a trace of it soaked into the center bun. I had to ask for more sauce so I could taste it, and also it helped to swallow the burnt, dried out burger. In hindsight, we should have returned the burgers to the kitchen. The waiter did not bring out our food, someone else dropped it off on our table. We were never offered a refill on our drinks and the waiter was not as attentive as I would have liked. After we ordered, he came to our table once and that is when I asked for the extra sauce, we did not see him again until we waved him over to ask for the bill. He was too busy talking to someone down the aisle to come back to collect, so after waiting about 10 minutes we left the money on the table and left. All in all, I would stay here again, the hotel personal are great and the rooms are very nice. The WI-FI can be free or you can pay for it, it depends on your status in the Hilton Honors. I will not lower the rating of the hotel due to the Miller Time Pub situation we had, as I feel the hotel itself deserves better than that. read more

I stayed at this hotel for about two months during the work weeks while working on a project at a nearby client. For me, this hotel is in a good location; walking distant to my client site. The front desk is friendly, the staff is helpful and the concierge lounge bartender is a sweetheart. I actually enjoyed the lounge but was disappointed that they only had complimentary appetizers and free beer and wine one night of the week. On the upside, in the lounge you can order from the restaurant downstairs, The Chophouse, with no additional "room service" type charges. In addition to the Chophouse which is decent, there's a Starbucks and a Miller Time Pub located in the lobby. Skip the Starbucks which is poorly ran and staffed and consider the Miller Time Pub if you're craving a burger and beer otherwise, you'll waste your time and money there. Not feeling the prices at the Chophouse or the grease at the Miller Time Pub, my top dinner suggestion would be the Capital Grille which is only a block away and hands down my favorite Milwaukee dinner spot. The hotel itself has been recently renovated but if you look hard enough, you can still see the wear and tear. Still, the rooms are nice and adequate for business travel. Where your room is located could effect the strength of the wifi so if you must work from your room, ask the front desk to take that into consideration when assigning you a room. While there I had a few housecleaning/ maintenance problems (dirty room, leaky ceiling) and had numerous room service issues (wrong items delivered, items on menu not available, prices on menu not equal to the price on the receipt). I eventually had to give up on room service all together. The staff was always apologetic and eager to fix the errors but still, it's only so much I can tolerate. All in all, I'd stay here again. read more

We visited Milwaukee to attend the Brewers vs Phillies game. The hotel has an ideal location as it's right downtown and close to shops if you forgot anything. Miller Time Pub has a free shuttle to Miller Park so that was a major plus too. The hotel is beautifully historic and has a welcoming entryway. The hotel room leaves much to be desired. It just felt outdated and there was dust everywhere. The bathroom was small and also outdated. The paper thin walls were the worst as we had loud neighbors at 2 ./ 3 am. It woke us both as it felt as though they were in our room rather than next door. Their shenanigans lasted an hour so it wasn't a very restful night. Parking was steep with a $27 fee but there is an open lot for less than half the cost/day. That is where we parked. read more

I am reviewing this hotel because I am on layover at MKE airport due to a flight cancellation. I work for Hilton hotels (Hampton Inn) and booked this hotel. I have to admit, maybe other Hiltons look nicer than this one...don't get me wrong, it's clean and friendly (the bellman showed me the Governor's Suite where he claimed Stedman Graham (Oprah Winfrey's boyfriend) stayed recently), but the look just didn't fit my style. It is more of the classic ritzy setting...but this hotel does get confused on the style they want to use. My room looks nice (modern contemporary), but was small for someone who had to pay the real price of a night's stay here ($149.00), but for what I paid I am not complaining (for ethical reasons I will not reveal the price I paid). The Waterpark is only open on weekends, but I was hoping they simply had a pool, but was I wrong. I roamed around the hotel, but my floor (floor 12), but not my room, smelled like a fancy seafood restaurant...I would of liked to go down to Walgreens to purchase a can of Glade or Febreeze, but that Walgreens closes at 7...I don't know... One of the bigger disappointments of this hotel is that they charge for EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING. Two 1-liter bottles of Aquafina water bottles sit to the right of me, and I was figuring they were complimentary like at Hampton Inn, but again, was wrong. They are a whopping $4.00! Tap water for me, please. The Wifi in the rooms cost $9.95 for a 24 hour period, but the friendly staff waived the fee for me (I don't know whether it was because I worked for Hilton or not...or they were being nice...I dunno...didn't ask any questions!) I hear breakfast costs, also. I was particularly disappointed of the business center. You know how I said that they charge for everything? It's no different. It's like this hotel is so greedy! They have a credit card swiper added onto their keyboards, copiers and fax machines. Again, you pay an arm and a leg for the evening and they make you pay to use things that they would complimentary use at Hampton Inn! Greedy, greedy, greedy!!! There are a few restaurants in this hotel, including a Starbucks (that's a star up on the rating right there...big fan of Starbucks), and it's next to the convention center. It is close to the Grand Avenue mall, which anchors Boston Store, TJ Maxx and Office Max...which was convenient for me...but the mall shuts down at 7PM, so beware. I'm sure there are many things to do at this hotel, but besides going to the mall and meeting a friend at the Hyatt, I couldn't find anything else to do...but the reason of my trip wasn't to go to Milwaukee, so I wasn't that prepared. But would I stay at this hotel again? I don't think so (unless I got a good rate like I did this evening). There is a DoubleTree across the street and a Hampton Inn & Suites up the block, so if I'm ever in Milwaukee again, I will fancy one of those instead. This place would deserve 0 stars if they didn't let us check in early. Upon entering our room there was a small poop in our toilet left from the people before us. Overall room was dirty. Lifted up the phone to find full sunflower seeds with all the salt sucked off of them. I wouldn't recommend using the ice bucket because we found the bottom of it looked like they cooked in it and never washed. For this place supposedly being the classiest hotel in downtown Milwaukee I would rank it in the same category at a motel 6 or a red roof motel. read more

We got a Travelzoo deal for $139 and stayed here for Summerfest. Unfortunately they were booked for our second night, so we could only stay one. The lobby is beautiful, total 1920s decadence. The rooms are nicely appointed, but ours smelled like wet dog. The walls are also very thin, and our room had an adjacent door to a family with a small child who woke up at 6am. Luckily they have a full cable tv lineup to drown out the cries. The hotel charges $24/day parking, but there is a lot right next door that's only $5/day. Service was mixed, my first impression was not good as the girl who checked us in appeared to be annoyed that we would show up before check-in. The concierge, however, happily checked our bags so we could go get some lunch (Rumpus Room, review to come!) The next check-in girl appeared not to believe us when we said the big dog we were admiring in the lobby was not ours. Did she think we were trying to pull a fast on on her and dodge a pet charge?? Housekeeping tried to get in our room to clean despite the Do Not Disturb sign being up. Weird. Overall it's impressive to see but not the best place I've stayed. We were lucky, however, to find a decent deal on a high demand weekend. read more

The hotel was fine, we stayed here because we got a really good deal on Hotwire. We paid $70 from a $330 room. The only complaint was that there was no wifi in the rooms, it was $10 to get access which was completely ridiculous. There was internet in the lobby but who wants to spend time down there? We definitely did not see that they charge their own guest to park overnight in the garage. It was $24 for overnight parking, but when we entered it just asked us to swipe our key card which would suggest that paying for the room gets you parking. Beware! read more

For the price we paid, the room was small and the wifi in the lobby was slow and when we paid for the wifi in the room it wasnt much better. Some of the staff was nice but one girl who seemed to always be there during our three night stay was as rude as they come. They messed up the bill even though I called and explained the situation and then re-explained at check in. Roomw as clean but small. When I asked about the skyway the rude girl said "Its to hard to give directions to it, so heres how you go outside. (it was cold I didnt want to go outside) when i asked again, they told me it was open til 2am but it wasnt they closed it at 10 so I had to turn AROUND after go halfway through and walk outside at 1am. It's clean. It's nice. Service is attentive. Rooms could be bigger, but all in all a nice place to stay. Downtown and close to all the action that is Milwaukee. Also, it's one of the tallest buildings in the city, and says "Hilton" at the top. Makes it easy to find. It has a cafe, a bar, the Milwaukee Chophouse is inside, and there is a Starbucks. Plenty of services and amenities. Walls seemed a bit thin, but that's the only downside. I'd go back for sure. read more

After reveiwing the wrong Hilton in Milwaukee, I needed to correct my error and be sure to post this on the right page... We were in town for a concert at the Riverside theater and chose the Hilton for our headquarters which was a great step up from the Ramada. The hotel is very classic and ornate; it gave us a Tower of Terror feeling (in a good way). The room was clean, and the cleaning woman, Brittany, was very friendly and informative. We stayed on the level with the fitness room, and we were very impressed with what they had to offer, if we were staying longer we might have had a chance to check it out. We took a peak at the water park just to see what the interest was (a lot of families in bathing suits walking around)...and it was a standard water park as expected. Eventually at the end of the night we came back to eat at the resturant near the lobby and I completely enjoyed everything I ate. Chicken and bacon are an excellent combination. I would absolutely revist the restaurant if I were to come back to the Hilton. Ultimately I'd like to come back, but I'd need a reason to visit Milwaukee so until then I'll have to be patient. read more

This hotel is pretty standard, although it seems the walls are a bit thin so if you have loud people next door or are near the elevators you might hear a lot more noise than we did. The bathroom is REALLY small, you can't even open the door all the way because it hits the shower bar (which was one of those curved ones). There is hardly any counter space to get ready. Probably not an issue for guys. If you are staying with someone you won't be able to get ready at the same time. The fitness center is free and has around 3 treadmills and 3 ellipticals along with some weights. It was pretty busy when I went on a Saturday morning. There isn't any space to stretch. This hotel is in a great location if you want to explore Milwaukee. There is lots within walking distance and it's also easy to park if you prefer to have easy access to your car. Don't park in the hotel's parking, there is $5 parking in an outside lot next door. read more

I don't know what was going on when I stayed here. I am not pleased with my experience. Right when I got into my room I went into the bathroom to shower. There wasn't a shower curtain & the bathroom fan wasn't working. It took 35-40 minutes for housekeeping to deliver & install the curtain. I definitely got the short end of the stick with this Hilton experience. After this stay I question the Hilton brand, I feel like they are lacking quality and definitely unsatisfactory. Another thing: thin walls. I was not happy with the experience, but at least I had a place to stay. read more

The rooms are small compared to other Hilton's. It is very close to downtown, which made it very easy to walk or low cost with Uber! Also there is a $5 parking lot across the street. Hilton charges $25 for parking. read more

Well, to start off, I didn't have a choice in the selection of this hotel, as my firm booked it for me during a random ricochet through Milwaukee for a business trip. Being both a Starwood and IHG Platinum, I'm somewhat leery of wandering outside of my comfort zone where my comfort is involved, but I set my expectations low and knew I just had to roll with it. The lobby is very lovely, with some classic old-fashioned touches that are sadly all-too-rare in most of my travel destinations. It shows that much care goes into the maintenance and polishing of all that wood. The downstairs bar is a fun place, with a good beer selection, which was of course to be expected when touching down in a city renowned for beer and brat. The room...well, with no status, I didn't expect nor receive much. My little cubby would have elicited a shrug and a one-night "oh well", except for two things: the last guest had probably bathed in his entire bottle of cologne (and liberally spread a second bottle onto the walls and carpet), and the air conditioning didn't work. Gagging, I rang down to the Front Desk, and they were more than happy to accomodate me, moving me to a lovely upgraded room at the back of the property, which was delightfully chilly and odor-free. My one word of warning - allocate extra time coming in from the parking garage. I got lost about 3 different ways on one trip from parking my car. The signage is poor, and the floors empty with the water park closed, so just follow your ears until you hear signs of life from the lobby. I'm not sold on Hilton, but quite happy with my experience at this property. read more

We decided to book a weekend in Milwaukee during German fest. We didn't attend German fest, but as a result, almost all of the hotels were booked. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and this property was the only one free on Friday night. There was a huge conference going on for Admin Assistants - around 2,000 of them, so the health club was full and I wasn't able to check it out, but it looked like a standard Hilton exercise room. This property has no pool. I thought it was centrally located, we actually parked our car at an offsite lot for the weekend only 3 blocks away. The rate from Friday - Sunday was $14 total vs $30 per night at the hotel. The staff we encountered were all swell, they recognized the Hhonors club by giving us our free water and free WiFi. The hotel is old, but I think that's part of the charm. I really liked our room on the 18th floor. It was quiet, well insulated, and looks like a Hilton. We booked the room with 2 double beds because it was the cheapest, and we just slept in the one bed. Something new the Hilton is doing, that I don't recall seeing in the past - they try to upgrade you. Want a room above floor 20? $9 upgrade. Want a lake view? $11 upgrade. Ugh... I find this annoying. Just give me a room! Obviously, I didn't upgrade. This hotel has plenty of food/bar choices. We arrived late, but Millers Pub was still open, and we got a nice meal, and some local beer. (Lakefront = YUM) The hotel bar was fancy, but dead. No one in there, they tout that they have live jazz, but the piano was empty, and no band in sight. We ordered room service for breakfast and it arrived right on time and was what we ordered. Good job. Here's the deal. Milwaukee has many cool boutique hotels which I've stayed in before. This would not be my first, second, or even third choice. Came to Milwaukee for a show at The Rave and stayed at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center for just one night. The Room: The room wasn't obviously dirty but it was definitely off-putting to find other people's hairs all over the bed, pillows and bathroom. The towels SUCKED. They were so rough it was practically like drying yourself off with sandpaper. Also, we were in a handicapped room which meant that the shower had no tub, it was just a curtain over part of the floor in the bathroom. It was weird but apparently was all that was available when I booked so we were expecting it. The bed was comfortable, even though I was crossing my fingers hoping that the sheets and pillows were clean. The Staff: The front desk staff was great. No problems checking in or out and we called down a few times with questions which were helpfully answered. They were all very friendly. The Food: We were on a time crunch so we got takeout from the Miller Time Pub in the hotel to eat in our room while getting ready for the concert. The food was EXPENSIVE and not great. I'd recommend just going out somewhere else outside the hotel or bringing your own food in case of a time crunch like we were in. We ordered room service after the concert, again the food was expensive but that's to be expected. It was decent, not great, not bad. One plus: it was delivered quickly. They told us to expect it in 40 minutes and we got it in 20. Another +1 for the staff. Parking: We parked with SpotHero for $10 at the lot across the street to avoid paying the insane $25 parking fee at this hotel. The Verdict: All in all, if we were going to do another one-night stay in Milwaukee, we *might* stay here again, but I'd definitely be shopping around other hotels with comparable prices before I decide for sure. read more

We highly enjoyed at our stay at the Hilton! The hotel itself is GORGEOUS. From the lobby, to the lobby restrooms, to the elevator - it was all gorgeous! We purchased a mystery Groupon and for $144 we were able to stay in the King Executive Suite + two free drinks + free wifi + free parking - on a very busy Saturday night in the summer. Can't beat that deal! Our room was HUGE! So, so big - with a king sized bed and a couch, desk, and two extra lounge chairs! 5 people could have stayed in this room comfortably! The view from our windows was amazing from the 24th floor - facing the city and Michigan lake. There was no trouble with anything, including noise - and the bed was so very comfy as Hilton beds always are. If I could point out the two things that were not 4-star about this hotel, it would be the actual bathroom (i.e. the separated toilet & shower) - they were very outdated, and the overall cleanliness. There was an empty Gatorade bottle in our room, and the sheets had some minor dirt stains. Definitely nothing major, and still clean - but definitely not 4-star like of a hotel. Overall, we really loved our stay here - and would stay again! read more

Decor is pretty decent. Location is quite good. Service was very polite. Beds are not very comfortable, but the pillows are decent. Check out process is people free and works quite well. Walls are exremely thin, you can literally hear people going to the bathroom at night. Parking was $18.00 per day for unlimited in/out for overnight guests. Wireless internet access was not very speedy, and was $9.95 per night. Overall a decent place to stay, it is just another hotel. read more

I liked this place. Yes, it's older but with that comes character. A few other reviews (here and elsewhere) spoke of it being outdated. My trip (in Oct. 2009) was shortly after a remodeling and I found the place to be just fine. Also, I'm a bit of a germaphobe and hate any place that feels or looks dingy and I did not get that vibe here at all. There's a Starbucks, a bar/restaurant, and another nicer restaurant (a steak place, if I recall) attached. The staff were friendly and the place is in a great location, as well. I'd recommend this hotel and would stay here again. read more

This may be the first time I've slept on a hotel bed that caves in from weight. I am literally rolling onto my boyfriend as I type at 3am in this hotel room- and we are far from being large people. The quality of this room is just terrible- the bed condition (springs pushing up against my back) to the toilet not flushing completely, to the small room size (you have to close the door of the bathroom to get to the toilet, and there's no way you can fit 2 people in there) does not seem up to par with other Hilton hotels I've stayed at. If all of the rooms in this hotel are in a similar condition, I would avoid this hotel if you can. read more
