Used to be a five star but changed owners and dropped a few stars even though it all looks the same. The soup was a favorite amongst my employees but lacks now. Chicken tends to be overlooked but Kung po is one of the better dishes. Walk instead to the neighbor gyro place instead. read more

Darn good chicken teriyaki and Korean short ribs. I like that the new owners are putting the sauces on the side so you can choose how much or little you want on. I LOVE Teriyaki food, but often struggle to find a place that really gets it. This place is it!! I went there last night for the first time and was thrilled. The service was quick, the menu is extensive, the price is right, the food is GREAT!! I got the beef teriyaki. They used REAL beef, sliced from what seemed like a flank steak. The meat was grilled and cooked to perfection. Then they drizzled the perfect amount of sauce and gave me an extra cup (at no charge) - just in case. Great, cheap teriyaki made with good ingredients. Good variety on the menu, including some Korean food. Unlike many of the Karo-heavy teriyaki places, like Toshi's, the sauces are relatively light. If I could give zero stars I would. My boyfriend and I paid for two meals when we got home we only had one. When we called in to tell them the girl on the phone acted like it wasn't their fault. We asked for a refund and she said I looked in the bags I gave it all. We were only handed one bag. NOT TWO! My boyfriend ended up with food poisoning. Lucky for me I didn't get my order. I love the egg drop soup here! I've also been trying to backwards engineer this stuff. I love eating there since I can down 3 or 4 bowls of the soup while I wait for food. The food is OK, but I feel like you pay too much for just your typical teriyaki place. Fried rice is an extra 2 bucks, the onions were chopped up to the size of goliath --- way undercooked. You know how typically when you get teriyaki you get a mix of high quality pieces of meat and gristly ones? I've never gotten a gristly piece here, and I've been at least 5 times. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous (I typically split an order into two meals), and they have free soup and hot tea for customers waiting for their food! One of my favorite Terriyaki places ever. They really take care to cook your meat fresh to perfection!

I went there this morning....Saturday....and arrived at 5 till 11:00. I waited until several minutes after 11:00 for them to open. A couple of hungry fellows that camped out by the door finally had to push the door open and peer inside. Then one of them must have been asked to turn the open sign on. By the time I got out of my truck and inside, I was the third person or group to order. We all sat down and then waited, for I kid you not, over a half hour for our food. It was Teriyaki Chicken for god's sake. One half hour for some chicken and rice is ridiculous. The complimentary soup was put out at 11:35, and by then all four parties now had finished our food. The Lady behind the counter was such a sour puss and couldn't crack a welcoming smile to save her life either. The food was good, but I will never go back, because there are better places, with better attitudes and you get the food within minutes. If I sound grumpy it's because I am. I'm just thankful that I didn't succumb to dropping a buck in the stupid tip jar, as I would have had to take a shower afterwords for feeling so icky. read more

I stopped by on my way home from work and got the spicy teriyaki chicken. It was pretty much what you expect at a teriyaki place, although they give you more meat than rice unlike a lot of places. The lady who took my order was really friendly, and the place was clean so that was nice too. read more

Wow!! Talk about price increase. Their entire menu changed, don't offer lunch special. I always get Chicken Katsu for $7.99 but it went up to $9.99. Everything on their menu is higher price by $2-$3.00. Food is good but not that good. Prob will never go there again. Time to find a new teriyaki joint. read more

These folks are running a nice weeknight alternative to pizza-burger rut. Great salmon and chicken teriyaki for reasonable prices. Bright green salads come on the side and they provide yummy free soup and tea. Clean friendly place. The parking lot is awful so park on a side street and walk in. Very kid friendly too. Although my friends chicken teriyaki and my gyoza look very good, I am not diving in due to the pinworms i found swimming in my gyoza sauce poured out of the bottle before my first bite. Another place I frequent at least once a week. Always fast service and very convenient, I call to pick up, leave my house, and by the time I arrive (maybe 5-7 minutes) the order is always ready. Inside there is lots of seating, free soup, and dum-dums/fortune cookies. When the chicken is freshly prepared it is great, however I only give them 4 stars because half the time (or more) I can tell it is precooked and has been sitting for awhile. I'm always disappointed by the quality of chicken, in particular, at other teriyaki joints, but Himitsu has much better ingredients across the board.
