Ok first off. There's been a few sushi spots come and go in Vacaville. Some good. Some bad. But Hisui 2 has stood the test of time. How? Well let's start with the good. The food is always good no matter what you order on the menu. Their hand rolls are absolute fire. All the special rolls in the menu are great. They also have a liquor license so they have cocktails available. The food is always fresh and I've never had to wait particularly long for it. The bad is usually the service. Ordering takeout has always been hit or miss here. Waiters and waitresses have always also been hit or miss. Sometimes the service is great. Other times horrible. Overall Hisui 2 tho is a solid sushi experience. The inside is sprawling. Plenty of seating and it's a nice spot for a date if ur partner is into sushi. A review from my friends experience last night... restaurants like this need to be closed, owners need to be fined and or put in jail! Taking advantage, bullying people and abuse of power should never be tolerated! "I try not to blast drama but tonight I must. Tonight, I had dinner with a friend at Hisui 2 in Vacaville. We witnessed the restaurant manager, Ken has a verbal altercation with an employee. The employee proceeded to walk off the job. Ken followed her, placed his hands on her, and locked her into the women's restroom. A customer questioned Ken regarding the manner, Ken replied, " shut up, this is my restaurant I speak to my employees how I want". Several of the patrons spoke with her and are willing to help her get legal help. After speaking to many employees I have discovered they violate many labor laws. They do not receive the required breaks or their lunch no matter how long they have worked. They do not receive overtime and are often denied time off even if sick. Minors are serving alcohol and some even consuming it while on the clock. They also do not follow work permits guidelines for Minors provided by schools. The employees I spoke with said they are afraid to speak out because they need the job. EXTREMELY ANNOYED by all of this. We had no chopsticks and our waiter was nowhere to be found, we asked another worker for chopsticks and they told us to wait and ask our waiter...ok... The service overall was so slow that our party of five ended up eating maybe 4-5 rolls total. The good thing is that if they are booked up and unable to seat you, it's "sister store" Hisui 1 will always seat you right Away. (But I don't like the smell of that one). If you come here after 7pm on a Friday night, prepare to wait at least 30 minutes for a table and 30 minutes for your roll. Not extremely horrible unless you're the type of person who gets hAngry. It's a lot of waiting around here, but the servers are nice enough and let's face it... this is probably one of the better sushi places in Vacaville. I haven't had anything but the rolls and although it's not the best, it is consistently good. A lot of the rolls taste the same because they're usually drenched with the same sauces. But it's a good price for decent food (50% off specialty rolls) so I will continue to come here until something better comes along. read more

I was very excited to visit Hisui 2 for their All You Can Eat Sushi lunch option after getting a strong recommendation from a friend, however, my experience ended up being a major letdown. When my group of friends and I got there, we were immediately greeted and given a table quickly by who appeared to be the head waiter. He gave us edamame and took our orders within a few minutes of being seated. We were really surprised when two people in our party got their sushi and bento box within minutes. However, it took 25 minutes for the rest of us to get our first order. By that time, our friends had finished their food and were ready to order their second portion. Finally, everyone's food arrived! The rolls were delicious and generously sized, but the nigiri tasted lukewarm and lacking in flavor which led me to believe that it wasn't fresh. Furthermore, only a smidgen of ginger was provided and neither the ginger nor tea were replenished during the meal. When it was time to pay, those that used credit cards got their receipts very quickly, but the two who paid in cash had major difficulties. One of them had to ask for his change, the other asked for his receipt and was given one for less than the amount he paid... No change, of course. Now the important question, would I go back? It was fun to finally give this place a try and the food was good other than the nigiri. However, due to the service issues and negative atmosphere that we saw inside the restaurant, no one in my group plans on returning to Hisui 2 nor would I recommend it to anyone based on what happened. read more

This is my favorite sushi spot in Vacaville. The servers great me promptly, remember me, and I always leave Hisui 2 satisfied. It's always clean. My family usually orders a few sushi, sashimi and entrees/bento. I'm usually split between a bento & the Japanese Steak. My personal favorite here is the Japanese Steak. The portion is perfect, always cooked exactly to my preference, and the dipping sauce is perfect!!!! Every once in a while we get other appetizers & udon. I much prefer Hisui 2 over Hisui 1. Located in a shopping area next to a Chase bank in Vacaville. The restaurant is always clean, and they have ample seating. It can get busy at times, especially on the weekend in the evenings. The wife and I have always had Hisui 2 as one of the sushi restaurants in our rotation when we are craving sushi. One thing good about Hisui 2 is they have AYCE sushi, but the only downside is that it is only during lunch hours. Hisui 1, which is also in Vacaville, has AYCE all the time. Then again...if your looking for AYCE sushi, there's another place in Vacaville which I will not name. The sushi at Hisui 2 has always been pretty good. They have an assortment of rolls to choose from, plus your standard nigiri, tekamaki, sashimi, and bento boxes. I usually go with nigiri and sashimi, but every once and a while, will venture and get one of their specialty rolls. The prices are about average at Hisui 2 as compared to most sushi restaurants. We f you don't feel like eating in the restaurant, you can always order for pick up. The only complaint I have is that sometimes service can be slow. I would normally chalk it up to them being busy, but there have been times that I've been here and it wasn't busy, but the service was still slow. So we went to this location for the first time on a very busy New Years Day evening. (been to the other location, which is a bit odd, but decent sushi) Place was packed, phone ringing off the hook. -Quoted 15-20 minute wait, seated in about 10 minutes. -Was told server may not greet us for a while, took maybe 3 minutes to be greeted. -Server was obviously busy though very nice and got our beers quickly, warned us our sushi rolls may take a bit, but got rice and miso soup for our son. -Rolls did take a while to come out but we were warned and who cares, we had beer and a happy kiddo. -Sushi was as good if not better than any other place we have have tried since moving to the area. I think I've been going to the wrong sushi place for quite some time. When I went here for lunch I was a little scared of trying their unagi since I've had bad memories of it from other restaurants. Then when I tried it, I realized how good it really tasted when I had it from Hisui. Turns out I've been eating unagi undercooked at the other restaurants. Quicker & cheaper version of the original Hisui with half-off rolls everyday and good deals on the AYCE sushi buffet. Plus it's in a different location in Vacaville next to grocery stores, dry cleaners, banks, etc. which is more convenient since it's on the way home for me. Only downside is that it's a bit smaller, so table seating is limited but there's a big sushi bar if you're going for the AYCE special. As for my to-go order earlier today, I ordered two bento boxes ($8-9 for a single item and $13.95 for 2 items) which came with miso soup, salad, and a fruit slice. The spicy tuna roll and the maguro sashimi (+$1 for sashimi in the bento box) was a good sized portion for lunch, with 5 pieces of tuna and 8 pieces from the spicy roll. The chicken katsu also seemed like a good option, as it was still moist inside with a crispy panko breaded exterior. However, we did order the vegetable tempura asking for no onions and ended up getting onions in more than half of the order. Also, went recently with some girl friends and the waiter introduced us to the mango special, which was light, salty, and sweet. An amazing burst of flavors and textures all in one bite. I must say my girlfriend couldn't stop talking about how amazing this roll was throughout dinner... so you should try it when you go. The pink, slippery, no fishy smell and taste so good in your mouth bringing you ecstasy!! Yup they have that here!! Charshi perfectly displayed in a bowl over yummy sushi rice. Want to get that date of yours drunk but not breaking the bank...look no further Happy Hour last until 7pm. Maybe your date can eat you out of a house and home, well take her/him to AYCE sushi lunch. Vegan selection is limited. They have a veggie roll (cucumber, avocado, spinach), avo kyu roll (avocado/cucumber), kappa maki (cucumber), shitake (shitake mushroom), avocado roll and edamame. Service is great the people are super friendly. If you want a more romantic/quiet setting then head to Hisui Steakhouse on E Monte Vista (Vacaville) and they offer AYCE lunch & dinner and they have the sushi boat buffet. Location is in a nice quaint shopping center in Vacaville so you have to the know the area to find this. Been here more than once and the experience has been ok. Great choices and a few of the workers are great. Some need more training. Came in just before 1:00 PM for lunch buffet and didn't receive any sushi until 2:06 PM. While we were sitting the waitress did bring us little appetizers, however after waiting we saw others getting their orders and a few of her colleagues looking at us wondering what's going on with our stuff. In the end she discounted a kids meal. Not sure if that made me happy or sad. We originally wanted to order rolls but decided to go with the AYCE. The selection is pretty good but the food itself it's mediocre. THERES TOO MUCH RICE. I couldn't even taste fish. The fish slices were paper thin. The rice was very loose as well. The only decent things were the gyoza and seaweed salad (which is saying a lot since I never go for these fillers). Hisui 2 is my family's favorite spot for sushi. Food had been good and we used to leave happy. Until today. We arrived around 1:30 pm and figured that perhaps the lunch crowd has come and gone. We waited patiently to be seated. While waiting, there's this very unpleasant smell that I assumed was the pond. Meanwhile, hostess was busy checking out her phone. Time to get seated! Yay! We're excited since this would have been the first time we're back since the pandemic hit. Checked out the menu, planned what to order, for our napkins and chopsticks. 10 minutes passed. 15 minutes. No water or drink order taken. Not sure if we're invisible or what. I stood up to wave at one of the staff. Some movement there but still nobody came to our table. Other guests that arrived after us got seated next to our booth. The female server promptly went to their table to offer drinks. We still have napkins and chopsticks and no drinks. She returned with their drinks and started taking their order. That's it! We walked out of there. I'll have to think hard if I will come back after today's disappointing experience. Probably not. Hisui 2 - Poke tuna salad! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Vacaville, California

I have no idea how long I've been coming here but it never disappoints. The prices are great and the staff is friendly for the most part. Whether it is dining or taking out there has never been an over expected wait time and they are always correct with the order. Friday's and the weekend are of course their busiest days so be prepared for a little wait time but that is expected. Another reason why I enjoy dining here is because they take customized orders whether you would like to add to a roll or take an ingredient out. One recommendation I would make though is it would be nice if on the menu it stated in which rolls there is raw fish because I personally am not a fan. This will always be one of my go to spots for sushi in Vacaville, hope their quality in service never changes! read more

This place is totally different then Hisui number 1. There is no floating sushi boat buffet and no Teppanyaki either! This is a straight up sushi and regular Japanese cuisine establishment. Sushi prices are 1/2 off so most rolls average about $8. Although there is a large selection of rolls to choose from, most of them have tuna or spicy tuna as an ingredient, so if you don't like tuna, don't come here. The rolls were average in taste and lacked imagination in my opinion. On the plus side all of the five rolls we ordered were huge with 8 pieces per roll. My wife looked at the bento box menu but these seemed overpriced at $15-20 each. The service was decent and the interior was hipster nice. The place was a little noisy as there were quite a few people at the bar, but this is still a cool place with decent sushi. read more

I've never tried Hisui's before, but I assumed that it must be good since the restaurant (the original anyway) has been around for years. I honestly wasn't impressed with the food. So first off the atmosphere, I loved it. It was not overpowering with Japanese themes but you could still feel it's strong presence. The wait staff was EXCELLENT, our waitress was extremely nice and even though she hadn't tried most of the menu she still gave us her opinions on what she had eaten. The food, was pretty good in my opinion. I'm not really that into sushi, although I by no means dislike it. But even though i'm not a huge fan I have had sushi from time to time with friends and I would say this place at least had my favorite. I ordered the dinner for two, so I got to try EVERYTHING and it was really a great bargain for that price! I mean the food just kept coming. Now their meats weren't really all that spectacular, but the shrimp and the tempura I just gobbled up. The dessert was really, REALLY good. I had the tempura ice cream, which I was extremely hesitant about because I have had it before at other places and it has never been good. Usually the ice cream just melts before I even get to it and i'm left with ice cream soup with tempura bits floating around. Especially considering the price I really didn't want to get it, and no one wanted to try splitting one. However I really wanted something sweet and our waitress kept encouraging me so I went for it.
