What a pleasant surprise! I would definitely eat at HK Congee Noodles again. My daughter and I didn't know what we wanted to eat for lunch, so we came to this Asian food court. With not many places open, HK Congee Noodles had both the drinks and plates we wanted as well as the right prices. In addition, the man at the counter was so friendly, especially compared to some of the other restaurants at the food court. I was craving Chinese sticky rice and was excited they had 2 sizes, so I ordered a Large. My daughter ordered this dish that looked like thick noodles that were SO DELICIOUS! (I may have eaten more of that dish than my own! Teehee.) Even though I ordered everything "to go", the man at the counter could see we were planning to eat at the table, so he still brought us bowls and utensils (not plastic ones), so we could properly eat there. It was really unexpected and appreciated. Next time, I'd like to try their congee and one of their noodle dishes since that's what they're named after! We went shopping at Livermore Outlet and decided to come to the complex right across the outlet. We were hungry and went to a food court. There are several food stands but I decided to try HK Congee Noodles. There is an order kiosk at the counter but you can also order in person. I ordered the seafood congee. All the food is made fresh and there will be a wait especially if there are a lot of customers. There's a line so we expected a long wait for our order to be ready. The congee is generous in size and the bowl has shrimp and filet of fish. It's good and I don't have a complaint. My only complaint is that several people are on the counter asking about their order and if you're not observant, you might miss your order or it's not complete especially if you have multiple orders. I typically do not eat in kiosks or food courts, but saw the pics of their signature dish - Fish cake with Chinese broccoli. I set my expectations low and was craving this dish. Watched the Chef make it and within 10 mins, literally one of the best fish cake dishes I had. It was so good and the gai lan was fresh and not old stems. Tucked away in the small quiet food court next to 99 Ranch, HK Congee Noodles dishes up delicious HK comfort food. I've gotten takeout from here twice already, and the two older gentlemen running their food stall are kind and friendly. They are both so efficient at cooking whatever you order, and I've never had to wait longer than 10 min for my food. Their English is limited, but they can speak Mandarin (and I'm assuming Canto as well? I've never tried speaking Canto to them). In general, this food court hasn't been doing well. Rent is high and there are plenty of other restaurants and eats around this area. Currently, there are only 5 other restaurants in this food court still in operation, and one of them is brand new (a Mexican place apparently). I really hope HK Congee Noodles can survive the cost of running their food stall here, as it's my new favorite place to support (Shihlin Street Snacks being a close second, but they have been there ever since I started coming here, so I'm not worried about their business). The first time I ordered their beef stew with daikon over rice, and it's been a hot minute since I've had deliciously savory and comforting beef stew like this. The portions are huge for the price and I always end up having leftovers. The second time I brought my husband along, and I ordered the sautéed fermented mustard greens w/ fish cakes over rice, while he ordered an HK classic, stir-fried thin egg noodles with soy sauce. The egg noodles were so good and had tons of wok hay, and the mustard greens w/ fish cakes had a lovely black bean sauce. I absolutely love anything with black bean sauce, so this was right up my alley. Both times the dishes held up well on our drive home, and neither the noodles nor the rice were soggy, which have happened from other restaurants in the past. If we really wanted to we could dine in at this food court, but given how empty and stark it is now, I prefer eating the food in the comfort of home. HK comfort food is supposed to evoke feelings of coziness, and the spartan environment at the food court just doesn't do that any justice. My honest take? 5/5 for Hong Kong Chinese foods. Best location. Excellent staffs hired here. They are good at their jobs. Good chef. Good cashier lady who speaks good English. Love it. So I am sad that so many good food spots are coming and going at the Pacific Food Hall at the Pacific Pearl shopping center so when a good spot opens up I will do my best to steer people this way because the hall is a great place to hang out and eat with a picky party since they can split off and order from a number of different food spots here and sit in a comfortable area after shopping at the SF outlets across the street. When I first wandered in and saw this new spot I was a bit skeptical at first since the menu was sort of limited and I had ordered a to go Youtiao (chinese fried donut commonly eaten with congee) that was quite honestly one of the worst I have ever had around the world; overfried and too oily but I wanted to give them another chance and not hang them up on one bad order of fried dough and I am SO glad I did because this is a hidden gem that fills a niche that is sorely lacking in the area! I went back the next week and wanted to try two more dishes to get a good sense of their cooking skills and that was the Hong Kong style Shrimp WonTon noodle soup and the fish fillet porridge/congee and I will say right now that their version of wonton noodle soup absolutely DESTROYS every other version available anywhere in the central valley. You will need to go to SF to get anything close and I put this version right up there with the best I have had in the streets of Hong Kong, it is really that good. The broth is clear, light and full of flavor the noodle is direct from HK and you will not find lighter perfectly cooked thin noodles along with some of the largest most perfectly balanced wontons. Nothing in the area comes close: Koi Garden, Grand Cafe, Hong Kong Cafe etc...get your wonton noodle soup right here and you will be back over and over again. The Fish Congee was also perfectly made with the right smoothtexture and no cornstach filler with plenty of fresh Fish Fillets and supplemented pieces of their fish cake/paste specialty, amazing porridge that does not get thin or thick which is the sign of an expertly cooked porridge/congee. I went back the following week to try their Stir Fried thin egg noodle with Soy Sauce which is just as good as the best ones around from Grand and Koi Garden but at almost half the price! Amazing wok Hei smoky flavor and hit it with a bit of their chili oil for an amazing bite. Also tried their sticky rice with shrimp and preserved meat but was a tad let down as it was not bursting with flavor but hit it with the chili oil and it was a great save! I will be trying more of their dishes soon as their main specialty seems to be their fish and pork cake in several of their dishes but if you just want one of the best shrimp wonton noodle soups in all of the bay area you will not regret it! read more

Amazing. Supported this place. It's fast. It's really good. And the guys working there are Insanely friendly and accommodating. I arrived Sunday at 10:40. They don't open till 11. They asked me what I'd like to order and took care of me right there. Even tho they were still setting up. It was a late afternoon and missed lunch. In between errands, I find myself at this sad food court that was once a busting scene. Only a few stands to pick. The most appealing came by a rare dish which I had to order - curry shrimp and pork chow fun. I love anything curry. Ordering came in the form of a digital screen and their menu on display above the counter. With the help of the staff to switch the display language to English, I was able to place my curry chow fun order. Usually you'll find in Cantonese restaurants chow fun with black bean sauce, dry or with gravy. It's a rarity to find curry chow fun. So I couldn't pass this opportunity. When the food was ready it was bought to my table in a go to container. I needed to fetch napkin and utensils to enjoy my meal. Opening the container, the curry aroma permeated. The chow fun was dry as opposed to having gravy. It had bean sprouts, onions, eggs along with shrimps and char siu slices. The initial taste reminded of home with my parents' home cooked curry dish. Despite the initial bite euphoria, I wanted the curry flavor to penetrate the chow fun noodles. Perhaps, a level of sauce or gravy might cure it. Overall, a nice reminder. Did not care for the lettuce in the soup but the texture of the noodles was on point. The wontons were large and tasty. Brought back lots of childhood memories.
