I have been here for lunch several times and buy is it fast. They have a good lunch menu to choose from and with the lunch special you get a cup of soup which is fantastic. The food comes with big portions and I never leave hungry. The prices are really cheap 7 bucks and you got your self a really big quick lunch. I had ordered and paid for my food online at 4:50 pm New Year's Eve day for delivery. I got a call at 6:15pm saying that they were not doing deliveries that. I said I would come and pick it up at 6:30 which was the delivery time. I know it's a busy day and I expected to wait at least an hour but I didn't think it would be 3 hours. I would have left earlier but I had already paid for my meal online and when I tried to call or go inside and ask about a refund , I got a busy signal or I was told to wait outside of the restaurant for my number to be called before I could ask the waitress the question. It was because I knew it would be a busy day that I ordered online but I saw people while I was waiting go up and order at the counter after 7 pm and get their food and leave before me. I kept regiving them my number that they would call for my food to ask if it was ready and I finally showed them the receipt in my email to find out they hadn't cooked it yet after 9 pm. They whipped something together after that and asked me to pay and I had to show them the receipt again that I already had. read more

My absolute favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. They make Kowloon look overpriced and pretentious. My favorite thing on the menu is the Hot and Sour soup..this shit has healing properties folks. Whenever I am sick, I go and get a to go order. Tasty not overly spicy with lots of veggies and ground pork. Just wish they would throw in some chow mein noodles in the bag like they do back home in CT. Awesome Egg Rolls which taste homemade and not pre frozen. Lunch specials come with soup of the day, which wasn't advertised but always delicious. Went for lunch one day during the week with a co-worker and it was a nightmare. Literally the worst service i have ever experienced in my entire life.. especially from a Chinese restaurant. First we sat at the bar and apparently there was no bartender working, no one including the manager thought to tell us that after waiting 15 minutes. Then when we finally stopped a walking by waitress they brought us to a table. Where we then waited longer. I ordered a shrimp lunch combo that was questionably even shrimp.. small baby looking ones that were covered in a questionable sauce. Dumplings we ordered were cold and clearly frozen before. Good food, good service. We love Sunny the bartender. He has a great memory (names and faces) and is always prompt, happy and energetic. The "D6" is our personal fave combo plate (chicken and broccoli with boneless ribs and crab rangoon). Drinks are good too! In the past I've eaten at the "old" Ho Win Palace in Everett, Ma and for the longest time nothing changed, not the decor, not the food, it became very stagnant and old fashioned and the food went down hill as well. Well, Ho Win has been refurbished and is now (I believe) under new ownership/management. The food is really good, the place is clean and nicely updated and the prices, though a bit higher are still reasonable for the portions you get. If you like all the "traditional" Chinese dishes like PuPu Platter, Peking Noodle, Friend Shrimp and such, they have it along with Teppanyaki Dinners like Steak Teriyaki served with miso soup and rice. I thoroughly enjoyed the beef with onion, very flavorful and tender, it paired perfectly with garlic noodles and spicy green beans. All in all, I hope the "new" Ho Win continues to offer good food, a clean comfortable environment and friendly service for a long time to come. read more

This is one of the few places that delivers in Chelsea so that would typically put it in the 3 star category. The food is usually pretty decent (for what it is) and the service is so-so (which is to be expected). The deduction of a star comes from my last experience with Ho Win. My bf and I ordered delivery and they got his order completely wrong. He called and they didn't give two sh... Yeah, they didn't care one bit. He ordered sweet and sour chicken and not only did they give him the wrong kind of chicken but there was no sauce. He called and they said they could give him the correct order but not until the next day. It was annoying but we would have taken it and gone back. But no. They changed their minds in about 30-60 seconds and then said they wouldn't give him the correct order the next day. Instead they said they could give him the sauce... But they wouldn't bring it until the next day. That made NO sense... We stated the obvious and they didn't care. I know you can't expect much with fast food places like this which is fine. But they went above and beyond to mess up an order and then deliver the worst customer service. 1.5 - 2 stars (no way more than 2). read more

This place recently reopened after renovations and I am not impressed with the way they are now running their operation. I called and ordered an entree and was asked which side I wanted with my order. I asked if the side came with the entree and the person on the phone (who spoke English as well as most Americans I know) told me that all entrees come with a side. So I ordered a side, which I was charged for. The food was bland, the lo mien was 99% noodles, and the broccoli in garlic sauce contained a myriad of other vegetables that were not listed on the menu including two kinds of mushrooms. The extra vegetables were fine by me but I would have appreciated being told that the "Broccoli in garlic sauce" would only be 50% broccoli. read more

This review is for the NEW Ho Win Palace. The new owners definitely have far superior food than the previous owners. The only downside, is they do not offer nearly as many lunch and dinner specials as other chinese restaurants. The food is great hut are a little on the expensive side. Not by a lot, it when you add up 5 items that are $1-3 more than other places, it really adds up. A pupu platter for 3 with rice and sodas was $50 before tip! If you're willing to pay a little more, it's definitely worth it. read more

Ho Win's was THE place to go for Chinese on New Years Eve, there was no other place that could compare and its the same now. I've been to sushi bars and uptown fusion bars etc etc....but something was lacking. I realized what that was when I went back to Ho Wins for the first time in ages and tasted their fare! The decorum is fantastically as it should be, stuck in the 70's, and if you are lucky you'll catch the local elder italians cocktail hour and be serenaded with Italian oldies! Great Place! I ordered the duck and got a plate of burnt skin and bone. When I sent it back I was told that, "I'm American so I don't know what I'm talking about." If you want to eat at a dirty mouse infested restaurant in Everett MA and maybe get stabbed in the parking lot afterwards, your options are plenty. This is my second visit since the remodel. Last time everything was good. This time food was mediocre and the service was horrible. We were served our drinks and pupu platter, but were not given plates. We asked for plates and they brought us small bread plates !!! Trying to put rice and beef& mushroom on a plate like that was a joke. We asked fpr larger plates and the comment was well, your table will be crowded.Also, they gave my grandson a styrofoam plate and plastic fork to eat with.Cost $80. and was a disappointing, stressful time. A classic Chinese restaurant with red décor and very pleasant staff. The luncheon specials are very reasonable, with the exception of the fried rice. When ordering the pork fried rice off the menu it contains other vegetables like bean sprouts and even egg at times as well as just rice and pork...the luncheon pork fried rice is just rice and pork, the only downfall in the menu. Otherwise the food is always fresh and cooked with just the proper amount of spices. One visit will tell you why it is always best to go to an actual restaurant instead of the walk in fast food versions of Chinese. Haven't been there in awhile but planning a trip soon. read more
