Last minute booking by my BF for a surprise overnight stay in Mammoth.... The room is older in style. Bed is a little too soft, and the pillows were very tired. Noting the room was clean. The establishment was quiet at night and early in the morning which was pleasant. Price was not bad either. We had a kitchenette in our room... Refrigerator w/freezer, microwave, silverware, serving utensils, dishes, dish soap, sponge provided, along with a roll of paper towels. The shower is very skinny, but the water was hot. There is a wall heater in the bathroom. There is also a wall heater in the main room which worked well. I was present during the check in process; I did not hear anything negative.... Since my in-law's house in June Lake was still covered in snow, we had to find another place to stay. So, begins my search. Since I was a child, my family would go up to Mammoth every Summer and stay for a week. Oddly enough, we had never stayed here! The most terrible customer service ever. Trash everywhere and totally rude behavior from the staff at the Holiday Haus. I would not recommend staying here. Check in time is 3PM the staff is in the kitchen and rooms 17 minutes late as of now. I paid for my stay here and I feel that this is a very dishonorable location. I was mislead by the German title and the staff are very disrespectful it's 3:27 PM and they are still way behind schedule making all sorts of noise and vacuuming nearly 30 minutes after the rooms are supposed to be ready! Someone said "at least they are cleaning." I don't want the staff to harass me while I pay for the service. They are!!! My friend ran a half marathon this morning and the house keepers are slamming doors and basically making everyone else feel uncomfortable here as well they are still in here 40 minutes late while my friend is trying to take a nap house keeper is still hiking through the kitchen 3:45 PM. I have been staying at this place for over 20 years and it has gone downhill. It's filthy dirty and the people running it are horrible. The manager Todd is completely impersonal and rude. Christine at front deck is extremely unprofessional with a terrible attitude. I hope whoever needs to know reads this and fixes the issues because I always enjoyed staying here. It's a shame such a great iconic place is being run down to the ground. In over 20 years I never had a problem until November of 2025. It was a nightmare. and It was supposed to be relaxing. A mouse was running around on the floor the night we stayed in room 16. Then I was woken up twice in the middle of the night by a rodent scratching inside the walls right next to my bed. Needless to say I didn't sleep well that night and was disappointed to find the next day that management would not Offer any kind of discount or rebate on the cost of the room or for a future stay. We arrived and hubby hurt himself so we asked for ground floor because we didn't want to lug our heavy luggage upstairs. They accommodated us with no problem. I thank them for this!!! The room was perfect with plenty of space. Nice bathroom too and plenty of free parking. We ate at the local pizza establishment named John's per the hotel's recommendation. Great spot good food!!! The room has a microwave and fridge. Plus two room fans. Also a rocking chair that was a lovely addition. I want to definitely recommend this nice little hotel in Mammoth Lakes! Needed to a place to stay for one night and this was the least expensive than all the other hotels and airbnbs in Mammoth. Tip, book on Airbnb, it was cheaper than booking directly on the website and there is no cleaning fee. It is an older place (Unit 304, one bedroom suite) but fairly clean. Usually with older places you would see stains on the carpet but not here. Pretty spotless. Roomy and has a full size fridge, microwave, stove, and coffee maker. Has a walk in shower. Hair dryer wasn't working, and wifi is spotty at best. Since the unit had two wifi TVs, it made watching TV difficult. At least I had a good 5G TMobile signal and was able to make a video call without issue. Had a small walk in shower. Bed was super springy so it might not be comfortable for some. The wall heater kept the living room area pretty warm and was quiet. The bathroom had a wall heater too. The one in the bed room was way too noisy and ended up shutting it off in the middle of the night. The Airbnb host was very responsive and just had to pick up the key posted on a board at the office when I got there. Was able to park in front of unit. It was on the end and just one story so don't have to worry about people above you waking you up. It was fairly quiet at night. Check-in time is 2 PM which is earlier than other place I've seen in Mammoth and check out in 11. Pretty close to the Village. Will definitely consider staying here again when coming up by myself but if I'm coming up with my wife, we'll probably book nicer Airbnb unit which we done in the past. read more

Horrible, horrible customer service. I just went through an ordeal to cancel my reservation that left a terrible taste in my mouth. I was planning on staying at Holiday Haus on Sunday, but an insane blizzard has come around and made it incredibly dangerous to get to Mammoth. We wanted to see if the roads improved the day prior, so unfortunately we missed the deadline on Booking.com to get a full, hassle-free refund on their system. I called Holiday Haus to see if they could help out with any type of partial refund. They did offer a 50% refund if I called Booking.com to initial the request. The lady was a bit rude about it on the phone, but they did offer the refund, which was decent enough. I ended up using the Booking.com website, as there is a 'request partial refund' button, to request the refund. This move, for some reason, completely pissed off the Holiday Haus lady. She rejected the request, saying that she could not do a partial refund unless I specifically called Booking.com. Seemed a bit odd, but I did go ahead and call them. Booking said that because the request had already been rejected, they couldn't do the partial refund on the phone. To remedy, I just needed to get Holiday Haus to send an email to a specific Booking.com address confirming that she was okay with the partial refund, and all would be fine. Called Holiday Haus back, apologizing about the inconvenience (because I *knew* she was going to be a huge piece-of-shit about it), and asked if she could send the email as requested. She then proceeded to repeatedly say no (and say "I don't know what I can do for you" even though I was literally telling her what she could do for me). What's funny is she didn't even seem too busy: she had enough time to sit on the phone with me and repeatedly reject my pleas for help. It was a huge pain in the ass and she was incredibly rude. I eventually threatened to drop some bad reviews online, and then she finally said she would call Booking.com. In the end, the funny thing is that I got a full refund from Holiday Haus. I debated not writing this review because of that generosity, but screw it. Maybe a review like this would encourage them to be a bit nicer to their customers moving forward. read more

We had a great time here. We got the studio king and it was so large and roomy. For the price, we didn't expect much and this exceeds our expectations. Do not expect anything super modern, it is a cozy place to stay that has a homey look. The couches were comfy, the bed was fine and it was clean. Yes, it could use a bigger tv but you're here for Mammoth - get outside! NOTE: THE DOOR SELF LOCKS so don't forget your key inside... We left the key and our phones inside. There is an after hours landline near the office that you can call if the front office is closed. They so kindly came out past their office hours to let us back in our cabin. Thanks so much! The heating is ancient and the rooms are super hot or super cold but overall a great experience.

We stayed for Saturday and Sunday nights. We had to ask for drink cups and there were not enough small towels. The toilet intermittently made a running-water noise; we were advised to switch off the toilet water valve until the hotel fixed it next morning. Fast Wi-Fi, about 60 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. Breakfast is suspended due to the pandemic. No room fan or bathroom fan. For fresh cool air, we opened the window. That may not work for you if the outside air is smoky, full of pollen, or very cold. While the area feels safe, some people may not feel safe opening a window overnight. There is an electric wall heater that does not circulate air, so it is silent but works well. Do not feed the bears. Outside the rooms are several bearproof trashcans. Yes, they have been damaged by bears. Quiet place and quiet area. No traffic noises. For an even quieter stay request room 7 or room 12; each room is upstairs and has only one adjoining room. read more

THEY GAVE AWAY OUR ROOM BEFORE WE COULD EVEN ARRIVE! What kind of depraved morons give away a room that you had booked two and a half months prior, where you even confirmed to them TWICE that you were coming? Holiday Haus is who. We booked a room (1BR cabin with kitchen) two and a half months ago, via Booking.com. We emailed Holiday Haus the next day to make sure late arrival would be OK. Though it annoyingly took them a whole 7 days to reply, they acknowledged our reservation and said yes. Around 48 hours before our anticipated arrival, we emailed them saying we look forward to our stay at the hotel, and to make sure everything was all set for us. Later that day they authorized a charge on our card covering the entire reservation, showing they were expecting us. (FYI they still did not send an email reply.) Turns out, due to illness, we weren't able to drive up until the next morning, only to find out they CANCELLED OUR RESERVATION WITHOUT OUR CONSENT, calling us a 'no-show'. THEY HAD NOT CALLED US - THEY HAD NOT TEXTED US - THEY HAD NOT EMAILED US to find out, if in fact, we were a 'no show', which they had ZERO reason to believe we were. Our car could have broken down, or we could have hit bad weather, and we would have arrived with NO PLACE TO STAY. Imagine the EMOTIONAL DISTRESS. Disgusting. This hotel needs to be OUT OF BUSINESS. Unless you want to have the rug pulled out from under you and be left without lodging, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

Where to begin. If I could give no stars I would. First, the service was horrible. Everyone at the desk was incredibly rude. My flight got canceled and I called them to reschedule, they expected me to pay for the last-minute cancellation even though I wanted to change it to another date. After hours of explaining to them, I was able to change my reservation date. that is one Second: The rooms were quite spacious but the bed was hard, the pillows are so worn down it sinks. The blinds were broken so at 7 a.m I am getting the sunlight straight on my face. The shower was small with a very weak curtain that kept falling. Third: Upon checking out I wanted to leave my luggage somewhere because my flight wasn't until later. I asked them if I could leave my luggage and they declined rudely. The desk person was sure enjoying her conversation though. Completely unprofessional. All this place wanted is your money they don't care if you enjoyed your stay. They are not professional or polite. They are rude. They don't deserve to be in business. I will take my business anywhere else but here. I don't recommend this place to anyone. First off, this is not the Ritz Carlton nor in any comparison to a Motel 6. We found this hidden gem on AirBnB. It's exactly what we were looking for. A place for us to relax, use hot tub and centrally located right near Mammoth Brewing Company and Gondola. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were reasonably priced. Todd the owner let us check in early which was nice as it was snowing and we were cold. The backdrop outlooking the windows were overlooking beautiful million dollar cabins. The view is incredible (see photos) The room has a microwave, mini fridge and freezer. Pack bottled waters, soda, adult drinks. We noticed that the Mammoth grocery stores charges double for drinks, etc. Just like Hawaii, they add cost. Pack toe warmers, hand warmers, during snow season. Buy them at home as they charge $4 for one pack vs. $1 at home in OC. Another helpful thing to buy is a window ice scraper for your windows. We experienced a ton of snow (fresh powder) the jacuzzi entry way was sky high full of snow. Front office was drowning in snow! It was the most snow we have encountered in our lives! The heating system in the unit is very cozy and the parking is right in front of your room. Hot water is on point. If you have young ones, bring a humidifier as our little one got a bloody nose due to high altitude sickness. The room gets real dry from heater. We stayed in unit #10 and we plan to come back again. Helpful hints: a website you can order food for delivery is called www.doorstep-deliveries.com (there are 8-10 restaurants to choose from) Hint: order before 6 to get variety of restaurants, if you order later, you will end up like us with having a choice of 2 restaurants to choose from. Mammoth does not have DoorDash, grub hub, etc. (yet)We ordered from bar and grill and it was just okay since it was the last place open. Most restaurants close at 9 pm. Another place we tried was "Delicious Kitchen" for dinner and it was really good. I had the pulled pork sandwich on ciabatta bread and my hubby the "Burnt ends" sandwich and it was delicious! Todd owns 3 other places in Mammoth. We noticed there were bigger cabins and hostiles on property too, but I heard the hostiles are the same cost. We booked this place because of the price, location, and free continental breakfast. However, after we stayed one night, there was no free continental breakfast as advertised on the website and front sign. We wanted this convenience so we could hit up the mountain as early as possible, but because of this we had to spend more money for food and had less time on the mountain. The bedding also did not fit the bed so I woke up with my face on the bare mattress. Wish there was more transparency about the services being offered. Most of the amenities, coffee, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Good location right across the street from the shuttle stop. Very cool decore and a nice kitchenette. Now the bad... My room smelled like something either recently died in it or close by. I had to flip the heater on and off NUMEOUS times until it finally lit and then it would shut off in the middle of the night. They never made my room which wasn't actually that bad. No room safe. I could literally feel the bed springs through the mattress pad. Worst part was I was catching a flight at 5:30 pm from Mammoth airport on Sunday and they wouldn't store my bags while I skied. I had to drag them to the Main Lodge and then pay an extra $40 to have my shuttle pick me up there. read more

Rented the King Studio for 3 nights and here's my verdict: 1. Room was large and spacious and I liked that it had a fully equipped kitchen, however, the kitchen stove needed to be cleaned, and the countertops were stained and gross. 2. There was outdoor seating right outside of our kitchen and people sat there and talked and hung out LOUDLY at night. 3. Bed is very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs every single time you turned. 4. Bathroom shower had a used bar of soap in it from whoever was in it before and overall it looked very outdated.. 5. The tv is placed on the wall in between frames.... and the frames are bigger than the tv. It is SMALL. It had to have been like 19 inches. And it is so far from the bed and sofa. They do have Netflix however, you'd just have to stand in front of the tv to be able to see it. 6. When I called to confirm my reservation, whoever answered the phone was very low and it seemed like he didn't understand what I was asking. 7. I asked for a late checkout on Sunday morning and the man on the phone denied it saying the room needed to sit for 24 hours before letting others check in... he chose not to accommodate us for another hour at max. Conclusion: room is very outdated, and it needs some major renovation. And please for goodness sake, get a larger tv. Verdict? One and done! read more

We typically book an Airbnb for a week but we only were staying one night so we booked here. This is an older property but everything in our room was just fine. The bed was comfortable and it seemed cleaned. There were interesting historic photos on the wall. They have a Jacuzzi, which we didn't use, but we couldn't find the ice machine. Maybe they don't have one. The office didn't seem to be open but you could call someone if needed. There were envelopes tacked to a bulletin board with our names on it, keys, and instructions. It's kind of a self-service place. It's nice they have a have 2 PM check in service which was nice. Most places are 3 PM or later. We stayed downstairs in room number one but would probably ask for an upstairs room next time so we don't hear the people above walking around. When booking, it was a no refund policy and kind of pricey. But overall, it was a good stay and we would stay here again if just cruising through for one night. read more

Do NOT stay here during the summer!!! My boyfriend wanted to support a local hotel so we stayed here for one night. I'm glad we only stayed one night because it was miserably hot in the room. The rooms upstairs do not have AC Units just a fan! Temperature outside was 84 degrees and it felt like an oven inside the room. The rooms need a lot of upgrades starting with the mattress which is not comfortable, the bathrooms need a lot of work, and so does the paint in the rooms. The room did have a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. No iron and we had an old hairdryer. The staff is good. We were on a 4 day motorcycle trip & this was perfect as a final destination. If we know how great it was, we would have stayed night #2 here. The front desk gentleman was friendly & informative. The room was clean! The bed was so comfortable! The location is so close to town, we could have walked (but after 3 days on the bike, we cabbed). I read a couple other reviews : yes, the room was warm & I tend to be chilly so that was surpising. I'd rather be a little warm, than too cold. The continental breakfast? Eh, plan on eating somewhere. Unless you're good with cereal. I don't know how old the bagels may have been. I grabbed some fruit & skipped the rest. We're looking forward to staying here again. The day of us traveling to Mammoth we receive a call from a woman called Jenifer at 8:30 pm from Holiday Haus letting us know that our room had been cancelled and that they cannot accommodate us . Since we left town later in the day our estimate time of arriving to the hotel would be close to 11pm . How the fuck are you going to tell us that you can not accommodate us and that every room in your damn hotel is booked . First of all we booked you guys 2 weeks in advanced . We never received a call the day before or an email In regards to our room being cancelled . Jenifer told us that something happened to our room the day of that she cannot disclose . You guys most likely gave our room away for a higher rate . You can go ahead and tell your boss Todd Robert that he needs to give me a call . This is unacceptable i will be making sure to contact higher management to make a complaint. At that point what are we suppose to do , then she tells us that she made accommodations for us at another hotel . Thanks but no thanks ! LOUD! You can hear everything anyone says around you even light conversations. Rooms are connected by locked doors with huge gaps. People walk above you loudly on the top floor. Smells bad too. I stayed here for my snowboarding trip at Mammoth mountain for their opening weekend this year. Check-in was easy, and when we arrived into our room around 10:30pm at night, the heater was already on the room was warm and cozy. The price point was extremely fair, and when we entered the room, it was actually a lot better than I expected it to be! The room was clean, water pressure in the bathroom was great, the fridge in the room was cold, and the bed was comfortable. I have to say, the best part about my experience was the lady at the front desk - Cristal, who helped me out when I realized I left a personal belonging back in my room after I was already back at home five hours away. She was able to contact housekeeping and mail It back to me the same day without any hassle and I'm leaving this review two days after speaking with her having received it. I had already assumed it was lost since I haven't had pleasant experiences with hotels before when I'd forgotten things. I will definitely book again for my future Mammoth snowboarding trips. My experience at holiday haus has typically always been very good, it's well priced, decently cleaned and a very relaxing environment . But tonight I witnessed a very disappointing and possibly dangerous display of simply Disregard for a guest. While at the Jacuzzi, around 8-9 There was a lone female guest That was clearly under some kind of influence. To the point of passing out and not being able to speak in coherent sentences. When the emergency line was called, The property manager showed up. with the property manager came with three additional friends, both the friends and the property managers seem very out of it and I truly believe they were under the influence. Additionally, they began aggressively interrogating the incoherent Guest, threatening to simply leave her, saying that they will just walk away and they won't be held liable. This was the point where other bystanders stepped in. This is when the property manager's friends got aggressive against other guests. Again these guests got angry over the comment of the manager, saying that she will leave the incoherent guest outside in a bathing suit in below freezing weather. Claiming since the incoherent guest asked her to leave which would then exclude the manager for any liabilities if anything happened to that guest. These actions are extremely unprofessional, and dangerous. I don't usually comment but I do believe that the manager could have handled the situation safely and I do believe the manager and her friends were possibly under the influence. Again this is about service or even room quality this is about the life of someone that could've handled very badly. If the guest didn't step in I believe they would have left her. I have repeatedly tried to call and get a hold of someone higher than the manager, but each time the manager recognized me and told me either there wasn't someone higher than her or she would take down my contact information telling me I would get a call back within a day or two which never happened. During each call the story kept changing while right after and even during the incident I was keeping records transcribing the whole incident on my phone. I personally like this hotel, but the manager has grossly abused her power against one helpless lady. read more

How we ended up here is a mystery. Usually for our Mammoth ski trips we choose the Westin or other VRBO properties that are plentiful and abundant in this town. Perhaps it was last minute planning? Well, whatever it was, it was surely our loss. I avoid negativity on reviews as much as possible, but I feel compelled to mention the disappointment and experience from this property. For accommodations, the one positive was being able to park right in front of our room and walk right in. The interior, although not atrocious per se, was your typical motel type quality accommodations. Light bulbs for lamps and fixtures were either extremely bright (I think they were outdoor bulbs placed inside) or very dim. Shower stall was the 4'x 4' plastic type you buy at Lowes and plop into a makeshift house. The shower head was frozen stiff so if you're 5'3" you just dealt with strong water pressure blasting your face. WiFi signal was really spotty. Breakfast was old cheerios stored in a tuperware and some other items we bypassed altogether. And this place was $260+ per night? What was most disappointing was when I injured myself skiing, ended up in the ER from a torn MCL/ACL and needed to return to Los Angeles that Saturday morning. Since we were paid up to Sunday, we approached Jose who was at the front desk and asked for a 1 night credit since we had to leave due to my serious injury. He wouldn't even grant a credit for us to come back to this sad place. Instead, he scribble on a business card that he'll give us 15% off on our next stay. Then asked for the card back and then added it had to be a non-holiday and during 2016. Awful service and people here. Never should have booked this place. read more

The room itself was adequate, though the walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything in the next room. I won't even quibble about that. The "breakfast" was bare bones and also inadequate, but I don't much care about breakfast. The thing that grated most on my nerves was the unbelievably RUDE woman behind the desk. She kept us waiting while gabbing on the phone (and she was rude then as well). She then disappeared for awhile while we cooled our heels to get a room. Later on, when we were backing out, she screamed, "Watch out!" because she was waddling behind our car. I didn't come close to hitting her. I will never, ever stay here again. You can walk to the bars, restaurants and the gondola in 5-7 minutes Room: My room was a typical Vagabond/ Motel 6 room with a mini fridge, outdated carpet, wallpaper and tile but it did come with a fireplace (fake gas fire with no wood burning). The room had two queen beds and a chair in the corner. There is no closet, so no iron or ironing board, but the office will gladly give you one. Service: The front office was really friendly and polite. I know my way around Mammoth but if you are a first timer, the ladies up front will gladly point you in the right direction Continental Breakfast: Don't expect to get full off of breakfast. Their options are oatmeal, cereal, coffee or a bagel. They could add a pancake or waffle machine and really add life to this continental breakfast. Motel itself: The motel is smaller which is nice for quietness. It does have a spa that is outdoors. I did not get to try it out but after a day of riding, spa time is a must. The motel does have a hostel located on the property but I never wandered over to that part of the property. Also, you are able to park right in front of your room which makes unloading a lot easier. Overall: The rooms are nicer inside than the Quality Inn, its walking distance to the bars and gondola and its financially cheaper than staying at other motels in town and AirBnB. As the old saying goes; you get what you pay for. Pros: Location is good. Cons: 1. The Managers and owners are rude, half the time when you call they don't know the rates. 2. The rooms smell funny. 3. The driveway access is never in good condition days after a storm. 4. I've stayed here a few times for the sake of saving money, I pulled in this weekend and wanted to use the wifi for one minute and the owner kicked us out saying we can't use it since we're not staying there. That goes against everything Mammoth stands for, I will NEVER stay here again. Stay at the Roadway inn or anywhere else in town. read more

I highly recommend staying at the Holiday Haus. The place itself was clean and affordable with a kitchenette option. When we experienced an issue with the fridge not cooling properly, the staff and manager provided excellent customer service and went above and beyond in remedying the situation very quickly. read more

AWESOME FIND! We arrived in Mammoth really late and they had the fireplace and lights on waiting for us. The staff was friendly and really accommodating! The breakfast in the morning was just what we needed to fuel our day of snowboarding. Tea, coffee, bagels, toast, English muffins, yogurt... perfect! The beds were so comfy...TV worked...and the room stayed warm! The jacuzzi was awesome after a day on the mountain and the hotel isn't huge so you don't feel like you are battling everyone and their mom to get into the jacuzzi. Good: -Location very near the village and mammoth brewing co. Bad: -Messed up our reservation by failing to confirm and checking us in when we weren't even there. -Bad plumbing -Broken thermostat and over-heating -Rude service -Tacky interior for the price -Incredibly slow internet (think back to the 14 kb/s dial up days) When you come down to it, they took no responsibility with making sure the reservation was correct, charging us the price of an extra day we didn't spend there and essentially making us leave early. I'd give it 2 stars for the location, but given this blatent irresponsibility on their part and being rude on top of it for their fairly tacky place, I think they earned the 1 star rating. read more

I gave them 3 stars for trying. They have done a big renovation and it shows. Loved the cabin feel. We are staying in one of the casitas. The staff is wonderful! Very helpful with tips and any concern s we had. We would probably never stay here again for two reasons...no water pressure in the shower and the breakfast consists of cereal and a bagel. If you advertise that breakfast is included it needs to breakfast. All that being said the bed was super comfy read more

We had a great stay here over New Years. It was older but charming and very clean and updated. It proudly touts itself as "economical and budget" which made me nervous- I shouldn't have been. The service was friendly and eager to please. When we didn't get maid service, I called the front desk and they were very apologetic and accommodating. Gas fireplace was cozy and beds comfy. Nice view into the snowy woods. Mini fridge, walking distance to the Village. Only thing I was disappointed in- my boyfriend left something in the room and didn't realize til we were halfway back to LA- when he called the motel they were aware of the item. I wish they had called us when they first realized as we remained in town several hours after checking out. We ended up having to pay for it to be shipped home. Also the wifi was very slow and ended up just using 3G. All in all very pleased. read more

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The man at the front desk was pleasant, informative and helpful. Our room (2 queens) was recently updated, clean and stylish with photos and history of the area. The bathroom was VERY clean with ample towels, hair dryer and toiletries. Mini frig (no freezer) and microwave were another nice feature. The desk/dresser surface needed re-finishing which I assume will be done in their upgrade process. Our friends' room had been completely re-modeled and was beautiful. No complaints on noise or parking difficulties. It was within walking distance to the local brewery and a shopping plaza with a variety of restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. read more
