We stopped for lunch on our way to an afternoon of shopping. We are semi-locals (live in maryville) so we are always trying out new places to eat. What I LOVED about this is when you drive up to it, it looks elegant on the outside and the inside. Also, the server (especially Sally) was so professional yet such a delight - regardless of how ridiculously busy they were. Ate a lunch and dinner here while visiting the area. We all enjoyed our meals. The group especially enjoyed the beef stroganoff, creamed corn, rotisserie chicken, and wings. Our servers James and I forget the other name we're outstanding. We would definitely return. Well... the atmosphere is wonderful. Server was delightful. I ordered the Hawaii Steak with a bake potato and salad. Did not have to wait long. Food came. Looked fantastic. Took first bite and it was the outer fat. Still good. Took a second bite and it was very tough. After trying a few more bites I kept having to spit out into a napkin. Just too tough to chew. Sent it back. The second time was a little better but still a little tough and too much outer fat. This was how much I have to leave on the plate. I compare this steak to a cheap buffet steak. Drove by this place and it looked like a popular place so we decided to give it a try. Beautiful on the outside and inside. However the food was not that great. Spinach artichoke dip was weird, not the kind we're used to - very yellow cheesy. My husband had the stroganoff and he liked it . I tasted it and it was so bland. The decor is beautiful and the booths and tables are nicely spaced. The brick interior gives the restaurant a warm vibe. The staff are excellent and well trained. MY wife had the lunch half chicken salad sandwich and baked potato. She chose the sour dough bread for her sandwich- she said it was delicious; it must have been- she didn't share. I enjoyed the grilled salmon salad. It is treated with a boiled egg, sliced carrots, home made croutons, very fresh lettuce and my favorite, home made thousand island dressing. The price for the lunch selections is very reasonable. We received our entree within 15 minutes of the time we were seated. Really excellent place to dine! We got there around 8:30, they said we'd have a 15 minute wait but it was more like 5 minutes. We had the chicken Marsala & the 12 oz ribeye, both were excellent! We both had salads with our entrees which were really good and fresh. The spinach and artichoke dip was amazing, probably some of the best we'd ever had. We FINALLY visited Holstons and let me tell you this will become a regular spot for us! We have been here a year and it's always busy and honestly I've been intimidated by the outside as it looks expensive. It ISN'T at all! They have a huge menu with a variety of dishes to try. I can't wait to try all of their salads. They look amazing. I tried the pulled pork sandwich that evening which comes with a tomato, Cole slaw and onion straws with a baked sweet potato on the side. I have never had a tomato on a pulled pork sandwich before but it was a very good addition to the slaw. And topped with onion straws? It was Delicious The hubby had the fish and chips but he substituted the chips for criss cut sweet potato fries. They didn't charge an upgrade charge like some restaurants do! She said it was no problem and you should've seen the look on his face! My daughter ordered the chicken tenders with shoestring fries off the kids menu. The chicken tenders looked homemade and fresh. My daughter said they were very good. She said the fries were just okay. Her friend ordered the kids spaghetti and meatball and cleaned her plate! She also ordered a side of fries which I thought came with the entree but she charged us $5.00 and it was a huge plate of fries. She didn't eat them because there were so many. Next time I will know The bathrooms were clean, the service was good and the food was fast, hot and fresh. All of that food plus drinks for 2 adults and 2 children for $62! Let me start by saying Holstons is my favorite place to eat. But last night they were really off their A game. We got seated quickly.....bartender was our waiter even though we were not in the bar and there were lots of others wait staff and very few customers. We got our drinks and waited and waited and waited....finally a lady stopped and asked if everything was ok and we told her we'd like to order. She went and spoke with the bartender and came back and took our order for him only to find out they didn't have half of what we wanted. My husband got the pork chop which was very tough and I got the nachos which had very little cheese on them. A friend got the fajitas which didn't have a lot of meat. Then we had to wait to get the check to pay and there were literally about 5 tables that had customers at them. I will give them a second chance but maybe not the one in Morristown. read more

This place has it all. When you enter you are greeted by a hostess who asks if you prefer a booth or a table. Booths are comfortable but we selected a table (with hard chairs) to allow for social Distancing. The ambiance is terrific. I really enjoy the gas lighting. So 19th century. I have owned several houses that originally had gas lighting and I have always wanted to restore the old gas lights. So far a desire that has gone unfulfilled. It is much easier to come here and enjoy their gas lighting. They have changed up there menu from the last time I was here. I use to order the pimento cheese appetizer. It was wonderful and such a 1940's kind of Southern tradition. Alas, the pimento cheese appetizer was dropped from the menu. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!! I ordered the french dip while my spouse ordered a brisket, bacon burger. The burger was huge and the two of us were able to get lunch and supper out of that one burger. My French dip was tasty. I would have liked the aus jus to have a little more flavor. The side dishes were good. We ordered an orange cake with ice cream. Simply the best desert I have had in a long time. I SOOOOO recommend the cake. It took my mind off the pimento cheese appetizer loss. I do feel sorry for the managment it is hard to get people to work and restaurants are struggling. They had plenty of help but our waitress was not to attentive. The employees spent a lot of time gathering in a corner and talking. I did not hold this against the management, what do you do? The businesses are lucky to have help. Anyway next time I may just order a second glass of tea so I do not need to be attended to as often. When in the area stop by and give these folks a try. My girlfriend and I had the Fish and Chips & the Chop Steak with a sweet potato. Based off of some of the other reviews we thought the portions may be small but they definitely more than enough for us (We had leftovers). The cod was sooo fresh, flakey, and yet crispy. I would definitely recommend. My girlfriends chop steak was okay it could have been better but the sweet potato was on point! Oh! This place has really nice atmosphere with a mix of brick, wood and modern lighting. Comfortable booths and friendly staff. The food was really good. Hawaiian rib eye was done well- and a decent cut, salmon with a baked potato was also a good choice - it was close to our hotel and they were dealing well with the new challenges being implemented due to the Coronavirus. The only issue I had was that they started turning over chairs before we got our entrees -the restaurant was open until 10 and we finished our meals at 9:45 so we didn't linger.
