Let's cut to the chase the tacos were really good fresh flavorful and generous portions. I had the Asada, Chorizo, Chicken mole and a savory mole. 3.5 stars overall. I found the truck while hungry and meandering down Ventura blvd. The food is fresh and young couple running it very nice, eager and helpful. Everything looked good and I took advantage of a taco Tuesday special for a plate $8 including a side of guacamole and chips. sounds great i'm in. Stop the presses I took the assortment of Mexican goodness to go, Upon arriving at my destination I opened the to go bag of goodies to find brace yourself a vending machine bag of small stale bean chips and a one ounce container of prepackaged guacamole. NO NO NO why would you do that and spoil an otherwise good meal? That's just a no bueno! What were you thinking trainwreck really bad idea. Don't preach scratch made old school authentic Mexican and Oaxaca food and serve that inedible garbage. Please I beg of you 86 the pre packaged junk and make it fresh or don't serve it at all... The tacos were really good, flavorful, and yes made fresh. Clearly your food and preparation are very good. At the very least if you plan on continuing with the aforementioned and I shutter at the thought of calling it Chips and Guacamole let people know because it will cost you return business and declining reviews as a result. read more

I can't get enough of this truck! I come back at least once a week. The quality of the food is exceptional. There has not been a time that I have left disappointed. They go above and beyond my expectations to make sure I leave happy. I follow them on Twitter (@holymolytruck) to get updates on where they will be for the day. Sometimes I get there before they open and can see them chopping up tomatoes and onions, so I know everything is prepared fresh each day. They also always tell me how long my food will take to ensure I enjoy it while it is still fresh. So if you decide to try them out (which you should), just make sure to be back within the time frame they give you. My favorites include: Cochinta Pibil Nachos, Mole Ranchero Tacos, Chorizo tacos, Mole Negro plate with rice and beans, Tinga Nachos, and Cochinita Pibil quesadilla. I have not tried the torta or burritos yet, but definitely plan on trying them soon. BTW - the tacos come on fresh HANDMADE tortillas! When do you ever see that with a food truck? read more

Have you ever heard "it tasted like heaven in my mouth" ? ...their tacos was beyond this. I have never tasted tacos with such amazing flavor. It's not your typical Mexican taco truck. You need to be open minded to anything. I looked on their Twitter page for the location of the day and time. On Monday August 1st they were located in universal studio/city, the park right behind the parking lot of the metro parking lot. When I got there, there was a line, but no surprise there after eating I could see why people come back. I also came with my parents and boyfriend. The wait for the amount of food we ordered was very reasonable. I asked the lady to surprise me with her favorite and she said "ok I got you". I ended up enjoying 3 types of meat and flavors I have never thought about trying in my life. She gave me Birria, cochinita pibil and Molé ranchero. My taste buds were in heaven! No lie. Their red salsa was spicy #TheBurnWasReal! I LOVE the idea of the salsa being served in a small container! I don't like when people leave their salsa outside for flies to touch. Just tried this truck at the Taco Festival in Grand Park and I have to say that I was left wanting more. In spite of a line of customers, the orders were taken with alacrity and cordiality. They were only serving tacos at this event, which sped up the ordering process, no doubt. Making the tacos took a little longer. I think my single taco took 25 minutes to come out, and it was smaller than I would have expected for a $4 taco. The green sauce and red sauce (which is very spicy, you guys!) were necessary to fill out the flavor of the taco, and I was experiencing an uncomfortable drip factor from the mushy meat while I was eating it. Big mess. I know the next time I have a taco here it will be better! read more

It was my first time having them this past Wednesday and it definitely saved me! I got the carne asada plate and it was very fulfilling. The portions were perfect for me - it came with 4 corn tortillas and I was in happy mode! It was well seasoned and well grilled. Definitely fueled me up for my paddling practice at night. Another taco truck! No, The Taco Truck. Holy Moly was absolutely delicious. The guys from the Burnt to a Crisp truck tweeted for their old employee chef/cook and were they right on! The Angus beef tacos were them bomb! Homemade corn tortillas, and the marinade was spot on. I will state they they are the best tacos I have ever eaten. I know that's a big statement. But the tacos, black beans, yes black beans not the refried stuff, lite fluffy not over seasoned Mexican rice made this dinner a feast and a true treat. We found them on Buena Vista St. In Burbank in front of the Ralph's. I will go back over and over or will find them where ever they park! Try this guy. Give him a chance. Food trucks may have died down a bit, but when you find good food, well crafted, you gotta respect that! He told me he makes everything. This is grass roots. Had the steak quesadilla, and it was really filling. They asked whether I wanted plain steak or steak in a green chile sauce, got the green sauce and it was very flavorful with a nice kick. $9 for the quesadilla and side of rice and beans. The only thing that I would pass on are the rice and beans. Just kind of dry and boring for the extra money. This is an overdue review on their catering. In one word superb! The food,the service, the chef were all amazing!!! I had them cater my sons graduation and they were on time and very professional. My kids were raving about the chicken three weeks afterwards. Please book this company to cater your next event you will not be disappointed. I've had this place a few times and never been disappointed!! I've tried their tinga tacos, cochinita pibil tacos and their squash blossoms (a vegetarian option?! Yeah I know). All three get 5 stars. With their homemade tortillas and fresh horchata. Customer service was also a plus, very friendly and helpful. The wait was understandable as they had a line. The tacos are so yummy, and the quality of the food is great! They even use very big jumbo size shrimp for the shrimp taco! It reminds me of Guisados. Stumbled upon this gem at the Pocock Brewing Company Cinco De Macho Fiesta! I ordered the Trio Taco Plate and got the tinga, cochinita pibil, and the mole. My girlfriend ordered a carne asada quesadilla. All amazing! I took one bite of the cochinita pibil taco and was instantly hooked! These tacos are decent I had 3 tacos asada mole negro mole ranchero fist of all the tortillas are mediocre they are rubbery and dense in other words made fresh at some point throughout the day not authentic at all the best of the meats was the mole ranchero it was flavorful and cooked perfect second is the mole negro the sauce lacked spice and was very simple but tasted somewhat authentic and last was asada meat was to hard rubbery and had to much hard fat it was also undercooked or giving the impression that it was thawed improperly. As a vegan, I don't always get to enjoy food truck night at my apartment complex. Imagine my surprise and delight when I see "vegan/vegetarian specials" on their menu! Heck yeah!! I got squash tacos and a vegan burrito and I was quite impressed! No flavor was sacrificed in the veganizing of this food. Tacos were SO BOMB, burrito was delicious, and the salsa... omg I loved the salsa. It had the perfect amount of spice! My order was ready quickly and the workers were all super nice! They make their own tortillas and tostadas which is also great and they topped it off with avacados omg it's already making my mouth watery lol. Tried this truck at Food Truck Alley in Santa Monica. Satisfied beyond my wildest expectations. Don't assume this is another run of the mill taco truck. They do real deal authentic Mexican cooking. All tacos are on fresh made corn tortillas that will forever ruin regular tortillas for you. Mole poblano is a dish close to my heart. Most people dont have the skill to produce the rich, complex, and utterly delicious flavors that make mole so special. This truck nails it perfectly. When I ate the cochinita pibil my head almost exploded. Perfect balance of sweet, savory and sour with the bright pink pickled onions to cut through the fatty pork. Close your eyes and you will be in the Yucatan. These guys are seriously crushing it. No wonder they had a giant crowd compared to the other trucks. Get over here now! read more
