My review is mainly based on what I ordered during my visit to Home Kitchen on a Saturday. There was about a 20-minute wait, which was understandable for weekend brunch, but unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the delay. I started with a Diet Coke, and was surprised when they brought out a can instead of a fountain drink. Kind of unusual for a restaurant setting. I ordered the JJ Sandwich, and to be honest, it was incredibly bland. It had no flavor at all, and really needed a sauce or some kind of seasoning to bring it to life. It felt like something I could throw together at home and honestly, it would've had more flavor if I had. I also tried the Polish sausage, which tasted just like a cheap hotdog. Definitely not what I expected, especially at the price point. Overall, the food felt overpriced for how underwhelming it was. Went on Saturday morning before the morning crowd hit hard. Although what I had was good, $30 (with 20% tip) for breakfast is just dumb. I ordered their pumpkin pancake special (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausage links), I also ordered a side of toast an and a coffee. Great food, quick service and tasty American faire. I had a great potatoes, chives and sour cream omelette and my wife and I split the French toast. It was very good and I was impressed with how well seasoned the omelette was and the side of home fries were more like smashed potatoes. We really liked it. We just stopped in for breakfast and it was a wonderful experience all around. The host was very engaging and welcomed us with a smile. He quickly sat us and removed us from the waitlist we put in online. Drinks for all, chocolate milk, almond milk, and delicious coffee. The wait for a Sunday was only like 30 minutes. Which was surprising! However, once we got called up to the stand the hostess told us we were next... We waited a good 10 minutes and watch him seat other tables.. Weird, so I asked about our table and said he forgot about us as we were standing right there... But it's a busy Sunday so we move on. All of the servers we've had so far are always great! I personally suggest the sweet tea especially if you like a little bit of orange. At first I was unsure, but ended up loving it. We been going once a month since we found this place and honestly we have not found a dish we don't like. We love the atmosphere of Home Kitchen even though it gets full it doesn't really get loud. We kicked off with a special order of the stuffed cinnamon roll the chef brought out for us. It was AMAZING! The best part of the experience was the level of kindness and professionalism the employees were showing consistently in every single interaction--not only to customers but also to each other. They were always communicating, backing each other up, and doing so with a genuine smile. They are killing it in terms of teamwork and customer service. The food was definitely above average. The vast selection of options makes it difficult to choose! I had the Perfect Combo with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. It was all lovely and cooked to perfection. My husband had a Farmer's Platter with corned beef hash, which was served on top of...potatoes. Seems like a lot of potatoes? I have no doubt everything else on the menu is tasty and I'm looking forward to trying new things! My only gripe (which could be a personal thing) is that the space between our row of tables and the next row of tables was WAY too small. The condiments on the side of our table were constantly being knocked over by customers and servers walking by. Servers had to stand within six inches of me to take an order for the table next to us. Not their fault at all--just something to be aware of for spatial awareness and customer comfort. Lastly, (and it's a good problem to have) is the noise level. The place, when packed, has terrible acoustics. It's extremely loud. We had to raise our voices to hear each other across a very small table. Despite these little hiccups, it was an enjoyable experience. Overall, this place is a winner and I plan to return often! Fantastic new locally owned/operated breakfast/lunch spot! We both had a great experience. The ambiance is low key and decor is tasteful. Owner Daniel, and wait-staff Angel, were very accommodating and helpful, each taking time to chat us up and make sure we were taken care of. Now the food....Wonderful! We went with the JJ Breakfast Sandwich and the 2 Eggs, Bacon and Toast plates. Both were exactly what we wanted. I ordered breakfast sandwich with over medium egg and it had a lightly toasted Kaiser bun with American cheese and sausage. The yolk as I cut it was JUST so yummy! Then I tried a pistachio muffin, with perfect crumb and warm out of the oven. They will toast the muffin if not just out of the oven! I asked for salsa and was given a tiny carafe with green tomatillo salsa. At least it wasn't hot like many green salsa tend to be. But when I ask for salsa, I prefer traditional red salsa. The omelette came with fried potatoes, which were cooked to perfection and two nice sized smoked sausages, which were also quite good. I also asked for a side of breakfast sausage, links, which were good, and a side of bacon. The bacon was a little bit overdone , but crispy bacon is better than no bacon! Our waiter was very attentive, and the restaurant itself was squeaky clean.
