    Cheese pizza slice

If you're looking for a quick snack or a cheap meal, Home Slice is a good option. They have both a sit down restaurant and a more casual order/pickup option--this review is for the casual option. For this option, you order the pizza by the slice. When I came, there were 3 options: cheese, pepperoni, and margherita. I tried the cheese pizza and to be honest, I didn't think it was anything noteworthy. If you're craving pizza, this will definitely satisfy that craving and if you're in the area and are having the late night drunchies, I'm sure that this would really hit, but I've had better pizza elsewhere. Everything here is pretty self serve and you can seat yourself at any of the picnic tables in front of the stand. Service was friendly!

Wow this pizza blew me away. The crust was so crispy and flavorful, and the turkey sandwich was EXACTLY what I was craving. The ambiance of this place is so cool. We waited for a good 40 minutes but it was definitely worth it. This is the first place I've ever seen offering cookies and milk for dessert! This is a gem!

I now understand all the reviews and long lines. One of the best pizza joints we experienced. Thin slice pizza with a very sturdy and crunchy crust ! The crust is what makes the pizza. Flavors and cheese were delicious goodness. We got to split the toppings to get a taste of some of their signatures. This photo below is a large. We had leftovers and the crust stayed crunchy even when cold! Has a nice outdoor patio to wait for seating, get a drink at the bar, or to sit outside. Service was very attentive, friendly, and on point. A place I would recommend if craving a slice of pizza.

This place gets super busy being along South Congress but service is relatively quick. Note there is a line outside but also you can order from inside at the cash register. I tried their cheese pizza and honestly this felt like New York quality being a thin slice. I felt lucky that the batch I received had just come out hot.

This place seems to be doing it right, you got home slice sit down side and across the lot got more home slice looks to be more for grab and go! We tried a few different things and everything was delicious

This was one of our bucket list was to come here, to be honest, we didn't like the pizza as much as we thought.. but the service was amazing though.. the place was super nice ! ! Very cozy!

I'm only home for a day, and my mind went straight to Home Slice Pizza! It's by far my favorite place, way before I started doing Yelp. I like the atmosphere and the sweet service. It's such a cool vibe, very relaxing. Plus, they undoubtedly have the best pizza and calzones. Some people compared their pizza to New York-style pizza, but I disagree. Home Slice Pizza has made its own rite of passage when it comes to perfecting the best pizza and calzones. Now I do like New York, but Home Slice is in a class of its own!!

If you're a tourist don't come here! Biggest tourist trap in Austin. 22% tip added on with a party more than five. If I could give zero I would. Service was terrible. They charge you a dollar fifty for half a tablespoon of hot honey. It's not served on pizza, just on the side. I am a local and decided to check it out. There are about 15 pizza places better than here. If you like empty, lack luster pizza and terrible service to top it off, this is your place! If not, I would recommend Toss pizza. Just because things are convenient, does not make them worth it. This is one of those places.

A classic pizza place founded in Austin! I can't believe I've never written a review for it since I've been multiple times. While they do have seating inside, it's a small space. Parking is usually difficult to find and not free (except on Sundays). It's best to order to-go and enjoy eating from the comfort of your home. There's usually a wait. However, this is the best NY-style pizza I've had in Austin. I love the classic Margherita. It tastes fresh and delicious! We ordered two large pizzas to share among four people and still had a few extra slices (for a second meal!) For pizza places, this is my go-to!

    Shana W.

Came here after hearing great things and it absolutely didn't disappoint! We came here with 6 people and the wait wasn't too terrible. The staff was very friendly and kind. The food was delicious as can be! We got the eggplant pie and it wasn't what I was expecting (I was expecting more of an eggplant parm situation), but it was so good! I'll be thinking about it for a long time! The area is really cool with cute decorations. Chill spot and really enjoyed our time here. I recommend patio sitting if the weather allows.

I've had pizza from so many places including New York and none of it compares to this place! I love home slice pizza. It's by far my favorite pizza place. The vibe is very lively and vibrant and Austin. It can get busy but there are options for bar seating or ordering to go.

Delicious! Visiting the city with my son and we wanted to try the best pizza Austin has to offer. We got a medium pepperoni pizza and it came out fast and the taste was amazing! Super thin yet crispy crust, sauce tasted great, and I like the smaller pepperoni. We tried the chocolate chip cookies with milk for dessert and that was delicious as well! Before the food came out they gave my son some dough to play with which was cool, we had fun making dough sculptures. Glad we checked this place out!

THE BIG: When I think of Austin pizza, I think of Home Slice. This location is right off of south congress on a prime location spot. There's a takeout window as well as a sit down inside. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Usually I come here when I'm walking down south congress, but now sometimes when I crave pizza. I just go order an entire pizza here becuase it is that good. There's three flavors available by slice: pepperoni, cheese, and margherita. I usually either get the pepperoni or margherita slice. Both have a healthy amount of toppings and I think this is a very authentic new york style pizza. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall each slice is around $5, Can't go wrong with a slice or an entire pizza from Home Slice. I highly recommend.

Not sure if all the burgers are always cooked well-done, but that's how ours were made (and was never asked if I wanted otherwise). Also ordered a side of fried plantains that came with a small cup of ketchup. They were harder than I was expecting, and not to salted. Next time I think I'd just order the fries. Waited at the window to order for several minutes while the guy took a phone call, then had a hard time hearing him take my order since he was still on his call and had his mask on (pandemic issues...and maybe this is where he asked how I wanted my burgers cooked?? Who knows, couldn't hear him!). Then it took awhile for the order to come out. By the time I got the food and back to our table, our friends had already purchased and eaten their food from other food trucks, so that was a bummer. Good option if you're in the food truck park. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!
