The service department at Honda Van Nuys is either completely incompetent or deliberately misleading. I brought my vehicle in for a clear mechanical issue that should have been covered under the manufacturer's warranty. Instead of properly diagnosing the problem, they gave me vague, inconsistent information and insisted on charging me a diagnostic fee, despite offering no real understanding of the issue or plan for repair. What made it worse? I took the car to a third-party mechanic afterward, and within an hour, they clearly identified the problem as a known manufacturing defect, something that Honda absolutely covers under warranty. So not only did Honda Van Nuys fail to diagnose it, they tried to charge me for their failure and their solution was for me to pay several hundred dollars to have the issue fixed. This experience felt predatory. It's unacceptable for a certified dealership to be this careless or this deceptive, when it comes to handling warranty work. Either they don't know what they're doing, or they were intentionally trying to avoid honoring the warranty and push unnecessary charges. Save yourself the time, frustration, and money--go somewhere else. Honda Van Nuys is not to be trusted. read more

I had an interesting experience at this dealership last week while shopping for a Honda Civic. I arrived with a specific MSRP in mind and asked the salesperson if they were willing to honor it. They agreed and presented a document outlining the MSRP along with tax, license, and registration so I accepted the offer. After my financing was approved, they returned with a revised document. Although the total OTD remained unchanged, the MSRP had increased by approximately $600. This was confusing, as no additional items were added; just the same breakdown of MSRP plus tax, license, and registration. When I checked closely, I realized the initial document had incorrectly calculated the tax. The second document reflected the correct tax rate, but the MSRP had been increased to compensate, keeping OTD price the same. I asked them to correct the discrepancy, assuming it was a simple mistake. However, they refused. After some back and forth, a gentleman named Brian introduced himself as the General Manager. I explained that we had agreed on a specific MSRP and that the error was in their tax calculation. I asked that they fix the mistake and let's get the deal done. Brian declined and, rather abruptly, stated that he would not sell the vehicle to us. As we were leaving, the sales manager approached and offered to split the difference. the overcharge stemmed from an incorrect tax calculation and that money wouldn't have gone to the dealership in any case. Now I'm thinking whether the inflated tax was a deliberate tactic, perhaps intended to go unnoticed since the OTD price remained unchanged. If it was an honest mistake, why not simply correct it? Why adjust the MSRP instead? Ultimately, I chose to visit another dealership, where I purchased the vehicle at the price I had originally intended to pay. read more

Upon writing the first review, I was clearly under the impression that the management team took care of the issues that brought me back due to severe complications my car was having due to the work I had done in June of 2025. After an altercation with the service manager Len Akers. It got verbally abusive. I then immediately apologized. I was told that the issue wasn't the work that was done in June. It was another issue. I was charged for the part. I believed at the time that my car was in good hands. A few days later my engine light was on. Never happened until I had the work done at Honda. The lack of communication in this place is ridiculous. Lack of integrity and accountability!!The GM Brian Sobel needs to be fired. There was a miss communication with the manager Jason Jhee agreeing to numbers through text having the messages no one took accountability for their mistake. Attached is picture of my original post which I deleted, I don't know why. But after much thought I think people should know what happened to us. The outcome of this was i retained a lawyer, returned the car, receiving all of my money back plus some. This would NEVER have happened if they were not guilty of selling me a new car with an open safety recall. Of course in their (GM) eyes they did nothing wrong. Bottom line...there are alot of great reviews and I'm happy for them, but BUYER BEWARE! And this goes for all dealerships now as far as I'm concerned, they are known for trying to get away, pull off, whatever word you want to use to make a sale. Don't be intimated by them, take your time, shop around, ask lots of questions...oh yeah and make sure you check to see if there are any open safety recalls!! read more

WOW! It has been a long time since I have updated my review here. What can I say? Victor Goorjian is a great car salesman. My wife, daughters, daughter's boyfriend, and I have bought 6 vehicles and leased 1 vehicle in total from him since 2018. Victor has consistently listened to what we wanted, shown us what we wanted, and made the deals happen every time. I am very grateful that he has been fair with our trade-ins and been fair with financing and price of the vehicle. I have never felt pressured to buy nor felt that he was being dishonest. I highly recommend this dealership for buying a car. Also, I highly recommend Victor as he is never too busy to help you. There are times I have come in unannounced and said hi to Victor while he is finishing up with someone else and then he has been able to help me. I appreciate him. As far as service, Miguel Cuenca is the best service writer there! My wife was going to Miguel long before I met her. After I met my wife and we bought my Honda Pilot from what was Miller Honda at the time, I started going to Miguel. My wife has probably gone to him for about 20 years and I have been going for 13 years. My daughters take their cars to him too. He has never once tried to push for an upsell. He has Tom or another one of their top notch mechanics take care of our servicing on our current 3 Honda CRVs and 2 Honda Civics. And before those is was another 2 Civics and a Honda Pilot. Miguel is always willing to get us in when at anytime that is convenient for us, he checks for recalls, and always checks to see if we have a warranty that might cover repairs. Miguel is also looking to see if there are coupons that we might be able to apply to repairs that are needed. I came to this Honda because they sent me a coupon for an oil change. I WILL NEVER EVER COMEBACK! The next day, my car would not exceed 60mph after my oil change. I called to inform the associate helping me, and he said I needed to make an appointment to come in. Now they have told me at my appointment that I have to pay $ 230 to fix it. I went with a coupon and got my car messed up!!! I have owned three Hondas. Just don't come here to buy a car period. Cars listed aren't ready (bait and switch) and then they will lie about the interest rates and your credit score/approval, even when you show them your experian credit report to their face. The salesman Carlo tried to get me to hand over my debit card to "hold" (for what?) when I clearly wasn't satisfied with the quotes I was receiving. I was patient and adamant about what I could afford and they still tried to shark me. Wasted a few hours going there. Eventually, I went outside to make calls and found multiple better deals at other dealerships. Avoid at all costs. Edit: I wasn't offered 9%. Even though I explicitly asked for it. At first you wouldn't even clarify what the APR was, you tried to get me to do $500+ a month for 75 months which is laughable. Once I asked more questions, THEN I was told 9.99% and then 9.5% was the best you could do. Wonder why it kept dropping. I was also told my credit score was 20 points lower than it really was to pressure me to buy. You only offered the binder insurance for free after I refused because I was told by Carlo it would add $5 a month to my payment for the entire duration. Why would I pay $72 for multiple years for one month of insurance? There were shady tactics all around. Please admit your fault and don't try to double down on irrelevant factors. It wasn't even close to a good experience. read more
