Cool little place on 4th. They have a big screen playing futbol in the main eating area! They ran an extremely light crew the night I came. I stood at the entrance for ~ 3 min before I ever saw someone who worked there. I guess they're lucky I really wanted to try this place bc I had a strong recommendation from a friend. Not sure others would be that patient. The chips they brought the table had cheese and tomato sauce on them. They were really good. Arroz con pollo was tasty, I don't think I've ever had a more flavorful chicken and rice dish. But it was SO SALTY. Oh my goodness. I'm a huge fan of salty foods, but this was way too much for me. Incredible menu with stellar Honduran selections. The staff is amazing and friendly. I went with a couple of friends, none of us had ever tried Honduran cuisine before and the waiter was happy to recommend us all their best dishes. Cute local spot in Long Beach. We were looking to sit down but it turns out if order to dine in you need to be there 30minutes before closing time. We decided to order take out. That however took much longer than we had expected to be ready, over 30minutes. I ordered a carne asada (steak) and chicken baledea, which is essentially a soft shell taco. Both were flavorful and delicious. However, I wish the menu had listed what was consisted inside besides the protein. When I opened the chicken baledea, it had peppers and onions, which I do not like. The arroz con pollo is essentially chicken and rice. Tried Honduras Kitchen out today for the first time and the food was amazing! I used to live right down the street and don't know why I never stopped by. First off, the baleadas were amazing (I'd eat them everyday if I had the opportunity). It seemed like they were extremely customizable and each of the ones we received were different (the baleada with chicharron, avocado, and egg was top notch). I loved every bite of the pollo mesapa; the chicken was extremely flavorful and the dressing complimented it perfectly. It was great that they tied in cabbage as well; that felt like a whole meal within itself. Seasoning was perfect also and the taste was sooo distinct overall. Lastly, I had the opportunity to try the Bisteak Encebollado. It came prepared on a huge plate and the presentation was fantastic overall. I ate the Maduros with carne Molida as a dessert to this and did not regret one thing from this huge meal. All in all, this was one of the best meals that I've had in SoCal. Food as superb and the best part about it is the pricing is amazing as well. The staff was super friendly and welcoming; made the entire group feel at home. Parking also isn't too bad in this area . I'll definitely be back to Honduras Kitchen next time I'm in the area; there's nothing in LB that beats the amazing food here! read more

I've given this place several opportunities yet it continues to disappoint. The Uber Eats menus describes the Pollo Mesapa with including rice and beans. I ordered it based on this description. The rice and beans were left off. To top it off, the one piece of chicken included was way over cooked to the point of being inedible. It was like chicken jerky. read more

I ordered the tostones (banana chips)with carne molida ( ground beef) and there was so much meat on my tostones that they got soggy. I got the fried chicken. It comes with shredded cabbage that looks like coleslaw and crispy plantains. The plantains are good but the ones with the sauce got soggy. It comes with a red sauce that I thought would be spicy, but I guess Hondurans don't like spicy. So, it was weird bc I was expecting it to be spicy. Worst customer ever!! False advertising! Came here for dinner one night and had dinner. There was 4 of us dining. We got 2 groupon vouchers each good for 2 people. I called the restaurant before going to tell them that we had purchased the vouchers & once we arrived at the restaurant I once again showed the waiter the voucher before ordering. After we ordered and finished the meal, we were told due to the 'fine print' if we sat at 2 tables instead of the 1 table, we could use the 2 vouchers but because we sat at the same table, they would not take the vouchers. Met a friend who was staying in Long Beach from out of town and seized the opportunity to eat here again. Checked in on Yelp and got a free baleada. Yum! Had the shrimp ceviche again, which my picky friend loved. I tried a chicken dish with cabbage, plaintains and Honduran sauce. It was great. My friend liked her pork chop dish which came with rice, beans and plaintains. Service from the kitchen was a little slow but our waiter Tony was great, informative, and friendly. We had not tried any juices before so he offered to bring out samples of each for us. I went with the passion fruit. Came here on a Friday night on a whim because we were looking at a Mexican restaurant that had an hour wait. I called Honduras' Kitchen and the lady goes "oh honey, we have PLENTY of tables". PLACE AND STAFF: This place turns into a nightclub after hours, so the ambiance is kind of funky. TV's everywhere, not too may places to sit, and a large projector. But we didn't care, we were here just for a quiet dinner. And we watched a random soccer game. Perfect The shining stars of the night were the waiters. One was named Tony, and there was another tall lady, I didn't get her names. They were so attentive and sweet. I remember we were ordering, and Tony told us he was almost positive that would be way too much food. But we wanted to try the stuffed plantain appetizer so we didn't care... and he was totally right. We really appreciated his honesty, as compared to some other restaurants who want to ring up the check as much as possible. We loved his stories and how he explained all the dishes, and how to eat some of them. Just the perfect waiter: attentive, friendly, but doesn't linger (we all know those). FOOD: We ordered a beer and mango margarita to start, a stuffed plantain appetizer and the parrillada for two (honestly it feeds 2-3), which comes with baleadas (ask if they can serve it before the food comes, Tony did this for us and it was great!), coconut rice and beans, pork, chorizo, shrimp and plantains, picked onion and cole slaw. SoOo much food! My favorites were the pork, plantains (go for the ripe ones!) and the chicken. And it takes a lot for me to say the chicken was my favorite because I have chicken for lunch almost every day during the workweek! Oh and the baleadas. they are like a taco version of a bean and cheese burrito. Simple deliciousness Couple of things: I wish they informed me about 2 things, that the margarita would have salt in in (they should inform before they order), and they should give the option of shelling the shrimp. I know it's a style thing, but nothing spoils shrimp like when you bite the shell. Even though Tony told us his brother eats the whole thing, lol. And tony was totally right, we shouldn't have ordered the stuffed plantain. Though delicious, our meal already came with plantains. We were stuffed. OVERALL: The food was fantastic and filling- we took a lot home, and we're BIG eaters, the staff was phenomenal (Tony, you're the best!), would definitely recommend for a family dinner or a relaxed date. I have no idea why I haven't tried this place until now. I've lived walking distance from it for three years and before that I was just a few blocks away. Have driven by a million times but always assumed (wrongly) it would be huge portions and heavy type food and while that's definitely some people's cup of tea I don't have a huge appetite for that very often.. My guy went it to order food to go since we are in the middle of the Coronavirus apocalypse and we want to support our local restaurants. He sent me pics of the inside and it is soooo cute, would be perfect for a date night or family dinner. He ordered us the Bisteak Encebollado (steak with onions and peppers) and the Pollo Guisados (sort of like a chicken veggie stew). I was right about the portion size, they are very generous. Each meal was served with rice, black beans, slaw and of course plantains. Honestly I'm usually pretty picky and annoying because I love to cook and also have a kind of sensitive stomach/palette and can immediately taste when something is over salted or under seasoned or overly greasy. Every single thing we ordered was amazing. The rice was seasoned perfectly and cooked perfectly. The slaw was flavorful and fresh and the plantains omg! Sometimes plantains get super mushy, but theirs were perfection. The chicken was falling of the bone and again, seasoned so well, same for the steak. It's rare that I can eat beyond that point of being full, but I definitely did. We will absolutely be back and I'm ashamed at myself for only just now coming to try this place. The Pasteito came out with two pieces of fried meat pies and attention grabbing bright red onions. The Pastelito had the right amount of meat and had a crispy outer layer to every bite. The Arroz con Pollo definitely was the main entree that was unexpectedly delicious. It was served with toast, shredded chicken, veggies, and yellow rice which was a unique combination of food. 4 stars for the chips alone! They come splashed with Honduran salsa and sprinkled with cheese. They were so good that we had to order another basket. Had a baleada - got it with platano, chorizo, beans, cheese and Honduran crema (same exact way that I had it in Honduras) wasnt as crunchy as I would have liked and was on the salty side but the flavors were good! (Side note that they use Mexican chorizo - which I love- but when I go to a Honduran spot, I'm really wanting that Honduran flare.) Also had the taco which was really what I would call a rolled taquito. Was solid but nothing to rave about. And had the pastelito which was kinda like an empanada. It was delish!!!!! Ok. So I've heard of this place numerous times. Heard it was great. The ambiance was super cute. Authentic imported Honduran foods at the check out. Extremely friendly staff. But what made it 5 stars was the food. I got the Yucca con chiccaron and it was such a rich mix of flavors. Much different then Peruvian, Argentinian, of Mexican. Very unique and tasty. My girlfriend got the Chuletas mercado. The steak was amazing. Definitely a must try and I will be adding it to my regular rotation of food spots! read more

I live very close to here and always wanted to dine in after I get off from work but it gets a wee bit sketchy in this part of the 'hood when the sun goes down....for all y'all new to the LBC don't trip if you didn't know things around here are different at night. There should be a disclaimer to those who wish for the LBC to be quiet, trendy, plastic, bright lights, boring, 'safe'....read up on all the 90s shit that went down. LBC is another beast and it will never bow down to you. We ordered through Postmates and the food came in a timely manner. I forgot the names of these dishes in the pics but I think one was grilled pork and one was grilled meats. The best, got me full for dinner. Try this if you want to take a break from Mexican food.
