In addition to this there is a service tax on our bill, not seen service tax being added to the bill at other places. We usually like coming to Honest because of their variety and flavors. However, in the last year their flavors and food quality are very inconsistent. We ordered Chilli garlic fried rice few months ago and their were good and well balanced and we ordered them today they were EXTREMELY spicy were I had to 1 cup cooked rice to them and they were still spicy. My main complaint is that their food taste is not consistent. I been to this location 2 times (2nd time thinking to give different items a try). The food is at best OK. If you are looking for a back home india feeling, don't get your hopes up. The food is ok, Sev Puri (puri probaly is store purchased), pizza lacks the crispness and sauce is too little. I have heard from other friends they liked it so for food I would give them 3.5 stars (considering they will never be HONEST of Ahmedabad). Service is slow. We were the only ones there, and it took them 20min to make 2 simple items. Another couple that was there, the husband finished his Dosa and the wife had not received her meal and the server came out to say "sorry we are running a little late" - No excuse, your business is food and if you can't do that right there are issues. The point that really gets me is, many people DO NOT wear a mask. First time there is a lady in the front, mask was below her chin (on her neck) entire time, the owner's mask comes down and was down most of the time was there. The people in the back when they walk out of the kitchen, the mask goes up. The second time, the same lady in the front didn't even have a mask on her chin, and rest was the same, masks below the mouth. Also there is NO sanitization effort. I went in at 11:30 when it opens, tables were dirty. Server goes to one table and then back and then to another, in between no hand sanitizer. We stumbled across this newer vegetarian restaurant while shopping at Sam's Club and ordered some food togo. We weren't impressed by the food at first, probably because we had the to go box sitting for too long before consuming the food inside. Only when we returned for a dine in later that we realized how fresh and authentic the foods are ! Our favorites are Panner 65, plain dosa, Manchurian Gobi, and Bahubali sandwich. We are pleased to have found this vegetarian restaurant which can accommodate our no garlic, no onions diet via their Swaminarayan option. It could get a little noisy after they added the big screen TV, but overall it's a very comfortable dining experience. As far as ordering, be sure to double check verbally as the servers move very fast and may misunderstood your order. read more

Each time I visit them I have found them to be on a declining curve. Most of the time (4/5 times) items on their menu are not available for order. They prep for food after they open the restaurant. They do not honor the eta they give you especially for take out orders. I waited almost an hour for something they said will take 20 minutes. Staff is not even courteous. I don't see this restaurant staying in business for long. They seriously need to do a gordan Ramsey on their menu and take out the items they cannot cater to. If I could give a restaurant a zero, I would choose this one. First of all, service is *severely* lacking. People working there are very unfriendly and milling about in and around the kitchen area but very few people seem to be working. Could be why it took the food 35 minutes to come out. I ordered garlic chili fried rice, manchurian gravy, paneer tikka masala and shahi paneer. The food DOES NOT come with rice (which is negative, already). The price of the food and the fact that none of the entrees come with rice is hilarious. Why even bother eating there then? We proceeded to wait another 20 minutes before I had to ask the woman - not once, but twice - where the rest of our food was. By this time the manchurian gravy was cold, my son had eaten his fried rice. The woman didn't seem concerned that we had been waiting a total of 35 minutes for food. Flavors were decent, the manchurian gravy tasted like nothing but slightly seasoned gravy. I was expected a lot of flavor since Gobi Manchuria usually is full of seasoning. The paneer tikka masala and shahi paneer were decent, a bit lacking in flavor. The garlic chili fried rice was good, but there were very few vegetables. The timing of the food coming out of the kitchen made zero sense. We were served the garlic chili rice and the manchurian gravy but no basmati rice and no naan which I had paid extra for both... the woman working at the counter seemed bothered by me asking her where our food was. Never got an apology. Overall, the price of the dishes & piss poor customer service make Honest Indian a HARD pass. This place is an absolute jem. For those who don't know, it's a chain of Honest restaurants which started in Ahmedabad, India. Worst Customer Service Experience!!!!!! I called the restaurant at 8:10pm to place a order for pick up and restaurant closes at 9:45pm. I wanted to place a order of 6 dosa for take out. The person on the call told me that they are busy and the wait list is for more than 1 hr. I told her that I could wait but she would not take my whole order. I even told her if ordering on the phone is a problem I can come in person to order it. She told that they can only take a order of 2 dosa not 6 dosa. Why is the restaurant even open when they don't even take take full orders. If weekends get really busy and in every order there's a dosa order then it should be stated on the website or menu there's a limit on dosa on weekends. It should also state what the limit is but I saw no such thing on your menu or online. Which is very irresponsible of the restaurant and it misleads the customers. read more

I was so happy to find this vegetarian Indian restaurant by chance when leaving the auto dealership. I ordered pick up for my family. The samosas and cheese masala dish were delicious. The garlic naan could have been a bit more fluffy but it tasted great. The cheese pizza was not so good. The fries that I got for my kid were really good. Have been to this place twice already. First time we were a group of 6-7 friends. The place was crowded, think it was first weekend after it opened. They have pretty good variety of items which includes South Indian dishes, Indo Chinese, Punjabi, chaats etc but they are currently not serving Punjabi items. We tried variety of item from Pav Bhaji, Chaat, Sandwiches, Pani Puri, Noodles, Falooda, fresh juice. Even though the place was crowded, we got our food in pretty good time and every thing was tasty & authentic. The second time me & my wife went there, this past Sunday & the experience was same. This time we had Paani Puri, Pav Bhaji, Masala Pav with Bhaji & Rava Sada Dosa. Rava Dosa was too good with delicious two types of chutney & sambar. We were very excited to try Honest Restaurant. It is literally around the corner from my new house, so we tried it last night. A few standard dishes and something new, Hot and Sour soup. It isn't the Chinese version, which has meat and tofu in it. It's totally different, but delicious! Dal Mahkani is very rich. I need rice for that, and I didn't know I had to order separately. Still very good. We also had a Dosa. It was outstanding! We were pleased with our visit. The food is too good to pass up! We plan on eating our way through the menu. I was really hungry as went shopping at Lotte market. I am non-Veg but eating Veg too. Decided to order Thali. It was really expensive, the taste was good but the curry quantity was too little for the price, Paneer curry had only 4 little cubes in it. In addition, ordered tea. It was served in a styrofoam cup, I opened it they had filled half of the little cup. I went to the counter told them this is half, I was told that's how they serve. This place is not good customer service. On March 27, 2021, our family went for dinner and my son has a dairy allergy, so we ordered Dosa without any dairy products. They served the food after 2 bites, suddenly allergy reaction started and it is due to some dairy allergy, we immediately left the place went to an emergency.
