BAD FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVICE. This place has gone from a place I like to straight into the toilet. I ordered the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, fried apples and cornbread. While the chicken is made to order, it seemed like I was waiting way longer than usual. A man who arrived after I did was served, ate his food and left all before my food was even served. The chicken was overcooked, shrunken and dry. There were a couple of small burn spots on one piece, which also tasted like the meat was on the verge of going bad. The cornbread didn't have enough eggs in the batter, so when you touched it it didn't hold together and disintegrated into a pile of crumbs when you touched it. The apples were applesauce they were so overcooked. The mashed potatoes were the only thing that was good. When I went to pay the server was rude and nasty and tried to cut me off when I was telling her about the food quality and the other server joined in and said that I had a bad attitude when I first got there which was a lie because the only thing I had said beforehand was to order the food. My dissatisfaction came after the food was delivered. So in a nutshell, I was served bad food and then insulted when I tried to say something about it. read more

I drove by this place hungry looking for BBQ with my boyfriend and we decided to stop because it was busy thinking a little out of the way spot that is busy could mean a good place to try and WOW were we right ! This place is clean and very friendly and the food is FANTASTIC ! If you like comfort food give it a try ! I wish my phone battery had not died I would have taken photos however if you are a lover of cornbread you have it covered and by far this is the best fried chicken I have ever had and I grew up on that stuff ! We went for the first time on a Friday evening at about 7P based on reviews from friends and hoping to miss the rush. We were seated promptly and drinks ordered. We then ordered the deep fried banana pepper ring and smothered chip appetizers. The husband ordered Prime Rib, French Fries and creamed corn. He was then told it wasn't creamed corn it was regular corn. I ordered the Fried chicken (dark meat), greens with cracklins and fried apples. We were then informed that it would take 20 minutes for our dinners because of my chicken. We had no problem with that because we had the appetizers coming and were glad the waitress let us know. Then it went downhill. The appetizers were brought out with our food. The banahna pepper rings were cold. The smothered chips looked home cut and fried but the sauce was canned cheese. DH's entire meal was cold. The Prime rib was exceptionally fatty and tough. There was no au jus served or steak sauce offered. The corn was just cold canned corn in a bowl. My dinner was a generous portion of fried chicken (2 legs and a thigh), but tasted like frozen industrial fried chicken. No seasoning whatsoever. The greens were cooked to slime and there were no cracklins. The fried apples were actually apple pie filling. We may try again and hope it was just an off night. read more

This was a spur of the moment visit on a Friday night. The location is an older one but the owners are new. Against my spouses wishes, I wanted to give them a try. Once we arrived and looked at the menu I knew that this is not our usual choice of dining. The menu is heavily populated with fried meat and fried starch. There are some sandwiches and salads on offer. The place was very busy when we arrived and we had a short wait. The only table available was right by the door, a bit inconvenient and distracting, but this isn't fine dining. I had the Southern Dip, really just a French Dip sandwich and home fries. My husband chose the salad with Buffalo chicken strips. My sandwich was okay, processed hamburger bun, roast beef, provolone and au jus. The salad was mounds of iceberg, some radishes, tomatoes, and two, three strips of chicken, bleu cheese dressing. The service was friendly, seems like lots of family involved in serving and busing tables. Since this isn't really our type of restaurant, I won't disparage it. My hopes were for some fresher and healthier choices along with those that rank high on the cholesterol scale. If you are looking for fried food, this is your place. read more

This place doesn't look like much when you drive by but, is the only breakfast place in town. I was a little nervous about going there but I really wanted breakfast so I decided to give it a try. Amazing! Everything that I ordered was super delicious. I highly recommend the jalapeño bread toast or a sandwich. The fried potatoes were perfectly seasoned and The fried apples are better than Cracker Barrel! My mom has the omlelet, I had the honeysuckle slammer (fried egg fried bologna cheese on jalapeño toast) and grits. No salt or pepper or cheese needed on the grits. PERFECTLY SEASONED! The grits taste so gourmet I asked them if they ever do shrimp and grits unfortunately they don't but man those grits were so good and I am very particular killer about my grits. This place has been open for six years I can't believe I haven't gone there sooner but I will definitely be returning when I come to visit my mom that will be my new breakfast place to go. Super fast service very friendly staff very attentive and warm people all around. My husband my mother and I we really love this place I think on Google it is advertised as a greasy spoon but it is more than that it is a lot of real good down to earth homestyle cooking perfectly seasoned I normally pick up the salt and pepper and this is one of the few restaurants where I didn't add anything extra except a little hot sauceOn my omelette because I like it a bit spicy. I really can't say enough about this place if you have any doubts about going please check it out. It's a tiny little restaurant and the parking lot is always packed I had no idea how good the food was I just thought that the place was packed because it was the only breakfast area in town. My mother & I ate lunch here & enjoyed our meal. I ordered the cheeseburger with fresh-cut fries. It was grilled perfectly & the French fries were awesome! My mom had the BLT with the fried sweet potato tots. She enjoyed her meal as well. Will definitely return! read more

Went here for breakfast on 1/13. Sat at the bar, ordered a tea and a water, only got the tea. Waitress was unaware of the breads they offered. OK, maybe she was new. A guy sat next to us, we had to share napkins, s&p and ketchup. We ordered first, he got his order first. Ok, maybe his order was less complicated. I ordered the meat and eggs, ham, fried potatoes and eggs and a pancake. The fried potatoes were so dry, I couldn't eat them. The pancake was so flat, it didn't even look like a pancake. My fiancé got biscuits and gravy, he said the gravy sucked. A guy came in and they told him to sit wherever he wanted. He chose the 5 top in the corner. They asked him to move. That's fine, if you hadn't just told him to sit wherever he liked. Saw the waitress give someone the finger through the wall, the customer couldn't see but we could. Never again. It's a shame because we need a good breakfast restaurant in town. read more

FOODIES (those who are entertained by "chef" and fine cuisine) DO NOT waste the gas money! Sorry but this place that boost "Southern Food" failed horribly short. Very limited menu and really not even that "southern". What it IS, a long needed and long overdue, "Denny's", for this area and strip of road, only smaller and obviously not corporate. This is food your mom would cook, true, but only when your mom was in a hurry (pork chops, fried chicken, chopped beef...oh that is 3 of the 5 dinner items offered). I will say the people/owners/staff LOVELY, service was extremely fast for as packed as this place was and prices were....Denny's. Absolutely would recommend if you were in the area and wanted a quick bite to eat. Dress up, drive across from Orlando.... to have something "new and delightful"....don't bother. read more

After watching the table next to us order, eat and leave 35 minutes later with 20 minutes with empty glass see through coffee mug-waitress waited on 4 tables and ignored us. we are nice people and this is not a place I would ever recommend. Obviously they have friends and family that post here. We live in Mims so were excited to see another restaurant open! Perhaps takeout wasn't the best choice for a first meal, but we'd heard it was good ol home cooking and looked great on paper. There aren't many choices, but I'd rather them do a few things well than do many things satisfactory. Our meals: Hubby ordered fried chicken, fried potatoes and macaroni. I had grilled pork chops, fried okra & fried apples. My pork chops were extremely tough & I just had to quit chewing, the okra wasn't in a separate dish & was soggy, the apples were bland & mushy. My husband's mac & cheese was ordinary, the potatoes were edible BUT he LOVED the fried chicken (to which he added his customary hot sauce). I'm a decent, down home style cook myself, so I truly wanted this to be an alternative meal choice restaurant!! Sadly, we are left with a bad taste :-( However, we see a continual stream of cars out front, so our tastebuds might be off kilter, or chalk it up to why take out is overrated. Let me start by saying my truly homemade lemonade was the best part of my meal! I came in hungry for "dinner" not a sandwich or fried piece of meat. There was no dinner special available either, so I ended up ordering a reuben. My entire first bite was spit out because it was all fat and the bread was literally soaking wet soggy. I then picked through the meat and tore all the rest of the fat off and asked for a piece of toast so I could rebuild my sandwich. What was brought out next was not toast, it was slightly buttered and grilled on one side and the other side was plain, plus it was completely flat and not warm. How do you get toast wrong? And now I'm going to shower at 8:20pm because I smell like fried food! Needless to say I won't be back, although my food was comped and I was offered free dessert. read more

Ate here today, waited 50 minutes for the worst meal I've had there and the server was rude! Couple sat down 30 minutes after we ordered, they got their food and ate it before ours even arrived. The waitress could have cared less, when our food arrived the green peppers in the Prime Rib Hoagie were not cooked and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even Prime Rib. Ordered fries as a side which did not come out with the sandwich, however they were delivered with a toss on the table by our rude waitress. Used to love this place, it's now off the list! read more

Went to breakfast here today (Saturday, 2/24) and sadly it will be the last. I ordered the Just Cheese omelette, with a side of fried potatoes and toast. I asked what were the bread choices for the toast and was told white and wheat- however they did have rye and jalapeno but it was a dollar upcharge. Really? For two slices of rye bread it costs a dollar more? Okay, I'll have the wheat. I'm glad I did since it was the best part of the meal and it was cold. The omelette was just average- nothing special, but edible. The fried potatoes were room temperature and were bland and tasteless otherwise. The coffee was so weak that it literally looked like tea in the clear mug that it was served in. I was never asked by my server how were things or why I hadn't touched the potatoes or coffee. It must be a recurring theme and she is just used to people not eating their below average food. This was my third try at Honeysuckle- I really wanted it to be a go to place in Mims that I could frequent- but, each time has been progressively worse than the previous trip. I wished there was a manager there that would have asked about the meal...perhaps they could take the constructive criticism and make some much needed improvements. read more
