Moved to FL 6mo ago, had a hard time finding a Chinese restaurant in our area, drove 40min to this one and boy was it worth it! Everything was excellent, the prices were more than reasonable and the staff was super nice. Moved from a state with a Chinese restaurant on every corner, but this one was far superior to any of the many I've been to. Would highly recommend and will be back many times! read more

I used to live in this area and every Thursday night my mom and I would pick up Chinese food from here. No almost 15 years later I visited again and was so happy to see they're still in business with the same owner who even recognized me! This should tell you that they know what they are doing to be in business this long. This is your standard American Chinese food joint. It has very little seating to dine in, but great take out options and lunch specials. I love American Chinese food and now after living in several states this place is still on of the best I've tried when comparing them to other Chinese takeout places in plazas and strip malls. They make good food. Every time I've eaten there everything has been hot and fresh. I've never gotten food poisoning from them (like some reviews mentioned) and the owners have always been very kind. Their boneless chicken tasted just like I remembered. You get two delicious slabs of fried chicken that are perfectly crisped on top of a bed of white rice. I asked for them to give me veggies in a brown/garlic sauce since this was something they used to sell over a decade ago and it was my favorite dish. I have not been able to find boneless chicken this well executed anywhere else. And I highly recommend you to try it. We also ordered the sesame chicken and that was well made as well. The chicken had a good texture, tasted fresh and contained the exact amount of sauce. We also got a nice amount of broccoli with the dish and delicious pork fried rice. Once again I don't know what they do to their rice, but this the best pork fried rice I've ever had. The pork bits are savory and tender with each bite of rice packed with flavor. I don't think it's salty, it's just flavorful and that's what I really appreciate about their food. Also they give you good size portions for the price and for instance, there's a lot of pork pieces and chopped veggies in the fried rice which is nice. Lots of places skimp out on adding ingredients to the rice. Keep making delicious food and I hope this review makes you want to try their food! They are nice people and deserve your business. We are new to the area and are thrilled to find this place. I judge all Chinese restaurants by their Hot and Sour soup. Hong Kong's Hot and Sour is reminiscent of my favorite hometown Chinese. It was spicy, thick with plenty of mushrooms and tofu. The wonton egg drop soup was also reported as good. The crispy noodles served with the soup were thin and crispy. The egg rolls were crispy although they were a little tough by the time we got them home. The Szechuan chicken was good. Our personal preference is less green pepper in the dish. The steamed dumplings were perfectly filled with tender pork and tender. The dipping sauce had more garlic than I've had in it before. We will return and look forward to trying other dishes. read more

I honestly love Hong Kong so much better than any other Chinese place I've gone anywhere in the country. I know that sounds crazy but I'm from Crystal River and I travel all over the country and I always look forward to Hong Kong when I come visit. I can always count on it tasting the same no matter what day or time I order. Prices are decent in comparison to other places in the county. And the location is good too. Only problem I have is that they're closed on Monday and I ALWAYS crave Chinese takeout on Monday. Aside from that I can't complain. read more

We have ordered from this restaurant many times and their food deserves five stars. I wish I could send this message to them in private but no where for me to do so. The biggest problem ( when there is one ) is communication. If you order exactly what is on the menu, there is usually no problem but if you substitute something she does not understand. I witnessed this last night. It was her fault but she wanted to charge the customer more for her mistake. The customer did not order shrimp but got shrimp and did not want fried rice but something different and got fried rice. For me ( I'm vegetarian ) if she would have put shrimp on my meal, I would not and could not eat any of it. She was angry when the customer came back in and explained this to her but she insisted on charging more. The customer even said, " you can even take the shrimp off and I am not paying you more because of your mistake."I believe she was angry mostly from frustration and probably embarrassment. As a business, she should have said, " I am so sorry, how can I make this right for you." She was too quick to make money but not think of the customer. I believe she only speaks English while at work because when she talks on the phone to her family, it is in her native language. My point is; because of that she doesn't understand what a lot of people are saying. They do get a lot of business, people like my husband and I always come back. We had to wait 45 minutes for our meal which usually is 15 to 20 minutes. We got there before anyone else came in but somewhere between phone orders and others, we got put on the back burner. We always try to be patient because we like her and the food they provide but what we say last night can harm this business. UGh. This is going to be a short review and I did not take a photo. This is a typical storefront chinese restaurant in Publix plaza. It's in a very busy location and I usually see people going in and out so I thought I'd give it a try. On the door it's states New York style. It is not New York style. it is some of the most dreadful food I've had in a long time. I ordered Hunan chicken which supposedly has a spicy sauce with vegetables. I asked for it extra spicy very hot. It wasn't spicy nor was it hot but that is not really what the biggest problem was. I thought that it almost inedible. I found it to be just about the worst Chinese food I've had even counting the little takeout places that you might find in small towns. A friend told me they liked it here better than another spot in Crystal River off Route 19 but I totally disagree. I absolutely cannot recommend this place. read more
