Very nice date night restaurant! We've sat inside and outside here and both were very nice. Service and the food have both been great. Drinks were also very good.

Veal parm, ordered with no cheese and adding only a light amount of parm when served.

I was in the area for the day and searching for dinner options brought me to Hoof's in Pawcatuck. The ambiance is elevated above casual but not stuffy or exclusionary. I was in there a short time after opening and my waitress was fantastic. I will say the bar staff were a little sweary amongst themselves which could be heard when I wasn't even seated at the bar. They serve warm bread and hummus to start the meal which was great. Im not a hummus person so I used the table olive oil with some fresh grated parmesan instead. The meatballs were amazing. The veal cutlet was ok. The sauce is good. Pasta is served tossed in the sauce rather than just placed on top. I eat a lot of red sauce italian and the food leans roughly middle of the road for me BUT the total experience brought it to 4 stars. I would definitely return and will check out some other dishes. The pictures of the bolognese look amazing.

Had a lovely meal here while visiting friends in town. Our friends, who eat here frequently, recommended seafood. I had the scallops and risotto special. It was delicious and the scallops were so tender! We shared a sticky toffee cake for dessert which was yummy.

There are so many things I love about this place. It's clean, upbeat, and the service is prompt. Our servers name was Sam. Clean cut young man, very proper which is so appreciated these days. We sat outside on the patio because it was booked solid and I was really craving the food here. It's pretty noisy with the traffic and the trains, but it's a small price to pay for perfection. We had the lobster nachos for an appeteaser, YUMMMM! I had the surf and turf pasta. It was great. My son had grilled chicken and mashed potots, the wifey had a white truffle pasta with grilled chicken. The food was great. I hate to reiterate this but, the traffic noise is obnoxious. It really took focus away from the experience. Other than that, it was a pleasure.

The perfect date night dinner, every time! Reasonably priced, masterfully prepared food, and meticulous service (without feeling overwhelming!). Their bread and roasted red pepper hummus is drool-worthy. I'm a big fan of anything served with their house pomodoro.

Some of the best pasta I've ever had. Place is super nice, seating is spacious and comfy, and service was good! Our waiter was nice and kept bringing us some of their delicious bread. I had the rigatoni and meatballs and they were *chef's kiss.*

It's got a nice atmosphere. The food is OK. Prices are pretty high. I guess you pay for the Decour.

Update If you're…read morelooking for a spot that nails the classics while still feeling fresh and fun, Pooch's Pour House is it. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming--laid‑back enough for a casual night out, but with just the right buzz to make it feel special. Wings: Hands down some of the best wings around. Perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tossed in sauces that actually taste crafted rather than generic. The buffalo has that ideal balance of tang and heat, while the honey BBQ hits with smoky sweetness. What impressed me most was consistency--every wing came out cooked to perfection, no soggy bites, no overdone edges. Nachos: The nachos are a showstopper. A generous pile that doesn't skimp on toppings--every layer has cheese, jalapeños, and savory goodness, not just the top. The house‑made queso is rich and creamy, and the fresh pico adds a bright kick that keeps the dish from feeling heavy. It's the kind of plate that's perfect for sharing, though you'll be tempted to keep it all to yourself. Beyond the food, the staff is attentive without hovering, and the drinks are cold and reasonably priced. It's the kind of place where you can settle in for a game, a night with friends, or just indulge in comfort food done right. Bottom line: Pooch's Pour House delivers wings and nachos that set the bar high, and the overall vibe makes it a spot worth returning to again and again.

The staff was extremely friendly, especially our outside bartender Gabrielle, who was fantastic, so personable and creative with her drinks. Honestly, the drinks and her service were the best part of our experience. We started with the lobster wraps, which were good, but the tarragon and dill were very strong and overpowered the lobster. Next we had the scallops for $38, which I didn't feel were worth the price about 12 small scallops with a bit of lettuce. They were cooked well, corn sauce was nice but nothing particularly special, and I would've ordered differently knowing what I was getting. We were still hungry, so we got the rigatoni, which was delicious. My only note was again the heavy use of fresh dill, which started to overpower an otherwise great dish. Overall, I would absolutely come back for the location, the great staff, and especially Gabrielle. I'd return for drinks and try different menu items next time.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken had super crisp skin and was executed and presented perfectly, great tasting together with the accompanied pickled vegetables and hot-honey butter.
